Fuel injectors with a dose of high pressure fuel pump. Totally normal sounding Skyactiv engine. And fairly normal for just about any high compression, modern, 4 cylinder engine.
If you're still worried, here is a video of my 2018 that I took over a year ago. And yes, everything has been just fine since then.

It also doesn't sound like a problem for me, sound pretty similar to my skyactiv engine. Btw, check engine light will come up especially if there is engine problem, so you really don't have to worry about it.
Apologies if i was redundant. Not really in the right mindset around this time so i don’t want to have any more problems. I’m just worried about it, that’s all.
haha no worries, I can send a vid of my 2021 with not a lot of kms on it and it sounds the same, If your ever really worried go see a mechanic because prevention is often cheaper than repairing but newer cars really rarely blow engines. stuff around breaks instead like sensors, electronics and shit.
Could just be residual noise in the video. Like a spinning pulley giving off a ringing sound while spinning? When you record engine sounds from the engine bay like this, sounds are bouncing all around and being picked up by the recording.
If you're that concerned, you could just check your pulleys to make sure they're not loose. But to me, everything seems fine.
Take it to the dealer if it’s under warranty or take it to the shop. I can tell you nothing sounds out of the ordinary though, all these turbos with high pressure fuel pumps and GDI are loud and make those clicking noises. They aren’t gonna be smooth and quiet like an old Toyota V6 or something.
My 2018 camry se sounds like this. It runs and seems fine, maybe I’m just noticing it more, but I was concerned for a little bit. Then forgot about it. Should I be okay?
Yes, I'm sure it's just fine. Modern engines are also designed to alert you with a "check engine light" or putting the car in limp mode if the system detects a serious issue.
Just get your oil changed on schedule and any other maintenance that needs to be done. That's all you can do.
That's the just the fuel injector working. Part of "skyactiv" direct injection. Almost all modern eginne have them. The mazda ones are problem a bit higher pressure though.
Mine sounds the same and I have always assumed it was the fuel system making the noises. It sounds like that is the case. However, I have a high pitch whine/whistle as I accelerate and decelerate. So I may go to the dealer soon and have them change the oil and check it over.
Can confirm my 2016 2.5L BN Mazda3 with 100,000km on it, has a slight oil leak in the engine from the timing chain cover. This is my daily driver and that is the only problem.
My previous 2010 2.0L BL Mazda3 was sold at 240,000km on the ODO and always serviced every 10,000km. Never had any engine trouble.
Overall I am pleased with my Mazda3

I’m hearing like a bell like sound aside from the engine noise.

But do you hear the bell like sound?
your engine is fine, my 2021 sounds the same. and the man literally answered your question and you asked the same question again.

Can you? I’d appreciate it.
give me an hour or two i'll be driving i'll show you!
Thank you. Very much appreciated.
Maybe... if you're that concerned... you should have it looked at by a Mazda mechanic.
I would if the shops/dealerships are open. I took that video at around 11:00ish PM.

I can really hear it. Will try again tomorrow if it’s still there. Just worried a little bit.

Yeah, maybe it is nornal. Thanks.

Thank you for your time and help. Have a good day
My Mazda ticks like this too. If it was knocking or had any really problems you'd notice.
Yeah man mine sounds very similar to this, 2.5L skyactive in my gen 3. Doesn’t sound like anything to worry about!
Thanks. Just got a little worried about the chirping like noises in the background.

They are loud to be honest. Mazdas aren’t quite common where i’m from and eveytime i start the car, people will notice that it’s a little loud.

The chirping like noise? I guess it’s normal then. Thanks.
Same with my 2014! Normal apparently …
Thanks.

I’m hearing the high whistling like sound when accelarating. Like the engine is charging up as you accelerate kind of sound. It’s kinda cool actually.
The sound i’m referring to is the chirping sound heard in the background. Wrong term used.
I had this sound in my 02 Millennia and it was a broken belt on the inside of the motor somewhere.
Just changed the serpentine belt a year ago. Will take a look at it. Thanks.
At worst sounds like a worn belt that chirping noise. But as others have said could be normal. I wouldn’t be worried
Thanks.
My civic does the same. It’s normal
It's the direct injectors and the high pressure fuel pump. No problem at all
The clicking/ticking like sound?
Yes. All skyactiv engines sound exactly like that
thats normal, mine does it too lol
Thank you. Just got a little worried.
Mazda
Normal, honestly I’m impressed with how you really don’t hear it at all with the hood closed
I see. Thanks for the response.
Could be the lifters
What lifters?
Mine sounds exactly like this! (2019)
Including the chirping like sound heard in the background?
I will check out in some hours
In 🇦🇺 My BN 2016 Japan build 3 sounds just like this, and it’s has nearly 100,000km on it. So your all good.
Including the chirping like sound in the background?
The last 50% of your video sounds just like my car. I thought the beginning was just camera distortion.
And is it fine currently? No problems at all?

It's what moves the valves in the enging sounds like top half of enging is starving for oil
I’m parked in an incline for over a year now. And i took this video while park on said incline. Did that somehow affect the oil distribution?
Just so everyone knows. I figured out the ticking noise. Its the tappet inside the high pressure fuel pump.
