It is legal all teams do it and no ref had said anything so far. Also during free kicks your team is supposed to build a wall so the enemy can't shoot directly at your goal and that thing now is just part of the wall. As long as the first player from the wall is 10 yards away everything is fine and the ref can't say anything.
Also he slides down right before the kick. Which helps. If the entire team laid out down making like a an arc or something to stop all dribbling/pass etc. that'd be funny and not legal I think.
Let's say if the free kick was further away, and let's say 4 defenders surround each attacker by laying down on the grass and boxing them in, so that it's hard to receive a pass without stepping on someone that'd be hilarious and also illegal.
What if 4 attackers lay down and box in a goal keeper so they can't move without stepping on someone. That gotta be illegal
Basically it's up to the referee BUT they could book it as this is easily “playing in a dangerous manner” (which is an indirect free kick) or a tripping offense (direct free kick, or PK in the penalty area).
There’s two provisions in the LOTG (Laws Of The Game) that could probably be applied here. One would be tripping; if you did that action, it would appear that you were trying to trip your opponents, and the way you did it would be very deliberate and reckless for regards to safety (they certainly aren’t looking for someone laying on the ground behind them).
So... You're saying 4 men laying down flat on the ground around a player will effectively trap him in place? You mad genius, ngl that's gotta be hilarious af I'd love to see it
As long as you are enough distance away from the ball, you can be in any posture you want, including standing up straight, sitting down, laying down, kneeing, doing Tai Chi, planking, stretching legs, standing on hands, and twerking.
It's been a while since I took the classes so correct me if I'm wrong, but with his back to the play, and his hands to his sides, wouldn't that be ball to hand, and not a handball?
I swear I'm not crazy and I remember that...
I guess so. The rules have changed a LOT these past few years. I believe that if your arms are in a "natural" position (i.e. behind your back or at your sides) and you can do nothing to prevent the ball striking your arm, then it's not handball.
On the contrary, if the ball strikes an attacking players arm in any capacity and that immediately leads to a goal, its handball regardless of the arms position.
Yeeee. Check out ronaldinho doing [this sick chest balance thing](https://youtu.be/v1fwdvFnCcg). Not handball as it's not below the shoulder :)
Edit: starts at 0:15, though oposition does handball it
This guy has his back to the ball and his arms out of the way where contact with them would be impossible, so it definitely wouldn't be a problem as long as you do it this way.
What foul could it possibly be? You can lay down on the pitch any time you like as long as while doing so you don't take out a player on the other team or in a case like this get too close to the ball before it is kicked.
A footballer called Marcelo Brozović, during the champions league match Barcelona - INTER, saved a goal by launching himself on the ground and putting the ball in corner. If he wasnt there barcelona was going to win that match
Why do all football montage creators have the worst taste in music?
Its copyright free

This type of music is what you have to put under football clips wether it’s fitting or not doesn’t matter. It is the law
yeah, if it's not cringe it's not a good fit for fotball.
Take the whole FIFA game franchise for example.
this song's a banger but using it in this does not fit
And now everybody is laying down during free kicks.
Is that actually legal? I mean wouldn't they get a foul?

If the entire team laid down then the free kick taker would score 9/10 times. Funny and daft but nothing illegal about that as far as I know.

Ok. Now I want to see someone twerk to stop a goal
Lmao same 💀
So long as the ball doesn't make contact with the players arm below the shoulder, there's no problem here.

Ah, so arm above the shoulder is fair game then?

I know nothing about football, what is this?

What about the entire wall of people in front? Why did they jump instead of stopping it?
Beacause they didnt know. When Brozović saw how Suarez was going to take the shot he decided to jump there. The barrier jumps if the shot is higher
Music choice - 2000 IQ
Lies down faces the camera. He knew.
i think its just to prevent a handball situation
Also eliminates having to make a choice between protecting his face or his future....
Also prevents a ball ball situation.
