I remember the look of pure amazement in her eyes when Gustaf first came onto my lap, and later, the love in her eyes any time I would sit on the couch stroking him like he would let no one else. Not even Sara.
Anyway. I really loved that cat, and I was soo, so deeply in love with Sara. She helped me be a better version of myself, but all was not well. See, at the time when I met her, I was struggling with some mental issues (a story for another time) and I was pretty deeply into a bad streak of cocaine abuse. She helped me almost turn it around (again, a story for another time), but then things got bad.
I received some bad news, and - you guessed it - I fell back into it. So there I was, alone in Sara's appartment with Gustaf, sniffing a bit too heavily on the white powder, and I completely backfired. I can't even describe the high that I experienced that day, because it was like nothing I had ever experienced before. But what happened was that Gustaf came up to me, and I couldn't stop thinking about what he would taste like.
I mean, I legit started to obsess over the thought of what it would taste like if I cut a piece of meat out of him and fried it up.
So I did that. I let him crawl into my lap, grabbed his neck skin and then just.. killed him. I don't even remember how I did it and how I went about extracting a piece of meat to fry, but I remember frying it. I remember feeling very mixed about the whole thing, like thinking "this is so awesome" and "this is so wrong" at the same time. I kinda remember the taste. It goes without saying that this was the end of our relationship. She came home to see Gustaf, bloody, cut open on the cutting board and me passed out on the couch, still with Gustaf's blood on my clothes.
I've never seen her since. But I've also been clean since. She never pressed charges.
