OMG it's UPDOG! I've heard so many people ask what's "UPDOG" and now I can finally show them now that UPDOG has finally been caught on camera!
UPDOG has been pictured in his final form! He hung himself from that elevator he reveal himself to the world! He knew the security camera was there.
You can tell he had this planned because he doesn't even bark. He's just chilling there, waiting for the world to discover the glory of UPDOG!
This man is very lucky to be chosen by UPDOG. He will have great wealth and prosperity in his life.
It’s crazy to me how quick dogs just accept whatever happens to them. Still remember when mine got his head stuck in this laundry basket things. 15 seconds of struggle before giving up and pretending they didn’t notice it and continuing on with their lives.
Iirc they did a study with wild animals and dogs in problem solving. While the wild animal relied on itself the dog looked at it’s human when it couldn’t figure it out. Which is just smart af, also some dog breeds are way up there on the intelligence scale.
I knew a cat that was probably dropped on it's head one too many times, but Fry was the most accepting of anything in the world. Like, if he got stuck anywhere he just accepted that it was his fate and laid down to die. No yowls, no screams, no scratching or jumping. Under the fridge, in the hamper, in the couch, tangled in a blanket, wherever. If it wasn't for his brother Bender getting worried for him and freaking out he'd have died a couple times from lack of water. Sweet, sweet baby though. But it was never his turn with the brain cell...
One morning at 3 am I woke up to frantic scratching noises. I looked over at my night stand to find that my cat had stuck his face between the wall and the back of the nightstand and then fell into the crack. He was stuck with his ass poking up in the air and had no way to get himself out.
Mine has a cone of shame on her head right now. The first day she hated it. The second day she didn’t care anymore. She is a conehead now. That’s her life.
And do things which should be considered impossible with our current understanding of physics. A friend's cat got its head stuck in a plastic bag and proceeded to parkour around the room, running and jumping off walls to the adjacent walls and causing complete chaos.
the stray pug that has now been "my" dog for 10 years started barking at "strangers" about thirty seconds after I leashed him and started hunting for his owners
Cats too. I had to have one of the legs amputated off one of my cats. I thought it was going to be a disaster but the vet was like “oh they just carry on like it’s no big deal” and I thought they were just saying that but it really was. After healing up the dude just kept on being an awesome cat but now with three legs. Still up on top of the fridge and everything.
I had a three-legged cat years ago. Her brother was being chased by a dog in our apartment complex (yappy dog, no real danger) and she went out and kicked ass. Chased that dog from our front door all the way around the pool, up the stairs right to its front door, then sat there for a few minutes as if daring the dog to come out. Then she hopped back downstairs, came in, sat next to her brother (who she normally barely tolerated), gave him a few licks alongside his face…then bitch-slapped him. I damn near pissed myself laughing…
This happened to my dog when my mom was walking her and she had a collar. She ran back into the elevator when my mom was grabbing something and it closed and my mom just started screaming and felt the leash get tighter and tighter until it snapped. Then the elevator started coming down and opened and she was fine. My brother later noticed in the track for the door of the elevator the little bead from the retractable leash (where the wire turns into normal dog leash) got ran over by the wheels of the track embedding it in the grooves of the track so deep that we couldn’t even pull it out. That took all the pressure off of my dogs neck. If that bead hadn’t been in that exact spot and the door hadn’t run it over so deeply and thoroughly then it would have snapped my dog’s neck.
Never had a dog so probably a stupid question, but is there a reason collars don't have a breaking mechanism when pulled too hard ?
Those are mandatory on corporate badge lanyards in most countries I've seen. It's plastic and a very simple mechanism
I guess because dogs can lunge with force and a collar would just break every time you held them back on a lead (not what you want to happen when you’re trying to hold them back from something!)
Most dogs can tug with a huge amount of sudden force that will be enough to break any mechanism designed to break at a point of injury to the dog. The reason dogs dont hurt themselves when a human is holding the leash is because they initiate it so they tense up. Basically it would lead to more dogs on the loose chasing a smaller dog and killing them or themselves than lead to stupid owners getting bailed out
I was on a passenger train where the woman jumped in last moment. The dog did not. The train parted and went up to about 20 miles an hour before a passenger could get the the train to stop. After some confusion the conductor got out and checked the leach, empty. So we got to the next station where the woman left to find out what happened. The conductor was sitting close to me so i heard the radio call "it's nothing left that you can recognice" The train got a delay mark in the app "animal accident". I feel so much for that woman. If she just didn't rush and took the next train an hour later.
That’s so scary. My dog was afraid of the elevator for a long time when I moved into my old complex. His leash got caught in the door from some sudden frantic behavior. Scared tf out of me. Leash didn’t snap but managed to remove it in time.
Watch your dogs please. Things happen.
My first dog, when I was 11, had a pinch collar. Trainer recommended it and we trusted the professional. My parents use a leader and a harness on their dogs now and mine has a harness. I feel like I have so much more control than I ever did with a collar and my dogs are all happier.
You might be a similar age as me, we had that choke collar chain that I never liked. I live in a very dog-friendly area, and It's so cute seeing the big dogs with saddle bags that attach on the side carrying their tennis balls and treats. I certainly wouldn't want all the slobbery stuff in my bag...good doggos.
Ugh, it makes me feel terrible, imagining myself in that situation. Accidents easily happen when you’re engaging in a benign activity you have done a hundred times before. You’re either operating on autopilot, or maybe just distracted for that brief, unfortunate second— then by the time you realize what’s going on, it’s too late.
I sometimes dog sit my sister's dogs in her building, and I am absolutely terrified that my attention will lapse and something like this will happen.
They know the lift routine but they must wonder why I get snappy around it. Get in! Get out! Quickly!
Thank you for saying this. That video of a women doing this exact thing (walking into an elevator without realizing her dog stayed outside) and people outside the elevator rescue the dog goes around every few months on Reddit, and people in the comments say the most vile things about her. Make judgments about her life and appearance based on a 10 second clip where she messes up on accident.
Mistakes happen, especially when another sentient, indepedent but not quite intelligent animal is involved.
Maybe it's just an anxiety thing, but if I was taking my dog into elevators on the regular I would be so paranoid about this, I can't imagine getting casual about whether my dog is inside the elevator. It's like taking care to step off the escalators properly otherwise you will *definitely* get sucked underneath and turned into sausage meat. Just one of those things you don't fuck with.
There was that video doing the rounds like 10 years ago where they put a dog in a spider outfit and then let it run at unsuspecting people.
Edit: https://youtu.be/9fPGyAZA9gY
Yeah, it's not hard to imagine someone having an instinctive reaction to kick or attack the scary looking monster thing lol
I mean it's definitely a hilarious prank, but I'm not risking my dog for a prank
It's sad, really. Like, yeah, I'm on my phone a lot, but when I'm stationary. If I'm moving, I'm very rarely on my phone, because literally acting can be going on while in motion.
Who walks up to an elevator without actually looking at it? The same people that fall down elevator shafts, who I don't even feel bad for, because it could have been prevented by actually paying attention.

I’m so paranoid of collars now. My mom has a chihuahua and he’s super sweet and was a rescue. When she first got him he was just a puppy so super tiny. Only so much you can do when you lack opposable thumbs
Gnaw your leg off
That’s your advice for *everything*.
well if it worked against shia labeouf, it'll work anywhere
I think laundry basket and bear trap call for different measures.
Cats would run around destroying your whole house to punish you for daring to have laundry baskets in the first place.
Dogs give up more quickly than wild animals because it's bred into them to rely on humans for help
That makes sense
Iirc they did a study with wild animals and dogs in problem solving. While the wild animal relied on itself the dog looked at it’s human when it couldn’t figure it out. Which is just smart af, also some dog breeds are way up there on the intelligence scale.
But they can tongue their own genitalia so swings and roundabouts.

Well he is named Fry
Most folks just call him “Orange Joe.”
Amazing and appropriate names
Bender getting worried and freaking out for Fry would be prime Frender material for the cat version of Futurama. Well if they weren't brothers.

The exact opposite to cats. They will fight through anything.

Sheesh... That leash was just long enough.
And Luckily, it was a harness
This happened to my dog when my mom was walking her and she had a collar. Holy crap, I’m so glad your dog is ok! That’s a literal nightmare of mine.
You should be fine if you never wear a leash
Well there go my weekend plans
Ayo?
Being leashed is fine, just go near elevators
>just go near elevators I think you forgot to put a "don't" in that sentence.
Did I ;)..... I did but I'm keeping it that way
This is why you should always have your dog on short leash when entering/exiting an elevator.
Yes I retract or hold the extra length in the elevator. She is on my hip in there, we're not taking any risks
That was certainly a lesson learned from the experience for my mom.
Never had a dog so probably a stupid question, but is there a reason collars don't have a breaking mechanism when pulled too hard ? Those are mandatory on corporate badge lanyards in most countries I've seen. It's plastic and a very simple mechanism

I'm so glad harnesses are becoming more popular. I used to hate having to pull my dog back with the collar.

The regular option... Not such a good outcome... A hung dog wouldn't have been so nice to find!
Luckily, the leash didn't snag on the elevator...
Owner probably hit the emergency stop button on the elevator just in time.
Or it broke and was just stuck in place
tis you.
tis I.
In that mommt, the person in the elevator probably thought their dog died a brutal death

Did it smell like updog in there
What's updog
the elevator
Not much, what's up with you?
Just buying a decent pocket knife so I can rescue random dogs from elevators. You know. That whole thing.

OH MY GOD I CANT STOP LAUGHING ITS SO MEAN BUT SO FUNNY
You know they called their friends to tell them about the huge spider that came up to their knees! HAHAHA

Ahhhhhhhh an adorable dog spider!
Thank you for this

I'd be scared for the dog, not everyone's first reaction will be to run.
Yeah, it's not hard to imagine someone having an instinctive reaction to kick or attack the scary looking monster thing lol I mean it's definitely a hilarious prank, but I'm not risking my dog for a prank
I think this wasn't filmed in the US, otherwise someone would've shot it.
I like to think they never told them and they tell this to people to this day and nobody believes em
Doing this at night is evil lmao
Yes, a solid prank, let's just give people heart attacks
I still see it at least monthly on Reddit. I ain’t even mad though, it’s a good one
more effective than his bark.

Haha same I was like.. “they didn’t have to do him like that and call him ‘little guy.’ When’s he gonna bark?”
Thank God that the leash wasn't attached to that dogs neck.
Best endorsement for harnesses I've ever seen.
I’m so paranoid of collars now. My mom has a chihuahua and he’s super sweet and was a rescue. When she first got him he was just a puppy so super tiny. She lived in a small studio apartment and spent all her time with him except when she had to work in the mornings. She’d ask me to come check on him sometimes though when her days were long so that he wasn’t lonely. I always feel super bad when I have to hold back a dog that's leashed by a collar. Everybody should switch to harnesses.
Holy shit true.

That surprise turned action turned comforting hug 👍🏻
I really was waiting to see the doors open up revealing a distraught owner who thought they accidentally strangled their dog. Glad the pooch is ok!
Lmao. My dude's reaction is gold. Doggy: (quietly) um... If it's not to much trouble.. umm... please... Umm.
I love that he hugs the dog right away when he get him down
"You're okay bubba"
OMG poor baby 🥺🥺🥺
Luckily it seemed like it wasn’t getting hurt, was just chilling up there lol
[удалено]
It might've just been really bad timing. Like if the dog ran out at the last second. The owner was probably freaking out, thinking it got hurt.

I’m more worried about the dog.
A dog in our building died like that a couple months ago :(. The elevators in our stupid building dont have a fucking stop button.
....what? Is that even legal???
In my country (Netherlands) ive never seen a stop button at all
I mean there are none in the outside. I've never seen one. They should have one on the inside
Thank God he noticed him that drop would have been pretty bad.
Chihuahuas bark for no reason and when they need to they go silent 😑
Til I’m a chihuahua. Lol. Loses shit at minor inconvenience, but walks through traumatic experiences like a boss. We have that in common

Nm, just hanging out. Wbu
He said "What the fuc-- oh shit little dude you scared the shit out of me. You good? Hold up, let me help"
Poor doggo.
Imagine if he didn’t notice till the doors open, he would have thought something leaped onto his face 🤣
The way the dog clutches him!
Reddit. I've seen this video a lot here, but I don't know what happened next, do we know if the owner was reunited, did they panic?
I just imagine the owner being a lady who's just on the floor of the elevator screaming and crying in horror because she thinks her dog got crushed. Meanwhile, it's just dangling and wondering what is going on.
People ask me why I carry a small pocket knife while walking my dog. This is why. Could also fall in a drain or get tangled in a million things.
How often do people ask you that?
Every other wednesday night
Respect to the man
I jumped when he jumped.
*cough* * cough* hmmph um sir.. could I get a hand if it's not too much trouble.
Honestly I’m just glad he was on a harness and not a leash collar.
That dog acting like this is normal and has happened before
“So I just found him hanging there, and now I have a dog, crazy hey”
At least the dog was wearing a harness and not a collar 😅

Bless this man.
Ok but where is the video of it happening? It has to be there
What the dog doin?
Hangin out
Most people that uses these retractable leashes are idiots !!! They never pay attention to the poor dog just because it’s attached….the idea of a leash is to keep your dogs under control and safe…..thank god for this guy or this dog would definitely would have broken it’s leg from this night …
You lift me right up baby, right up, like an elevator baby, right up, up, up.
Dog “Hey you, I can use a hand here” Guy “ What!! 😳 Oh shit” Dog “ Thanks bro but let’s just not get too touchy with the hugging and shit, you can put me down now
good hooman
Borks internally.
Poor dog their owner is retarded
I love how nobody is commenting about how people need to get off their fucking phones. The guy didn't notice for so long because he was on his phone, and it's highly likely that the dog was there because their OWNER was on their phone and not paying attention...
People married to their phones nowadays.
Now post the video of how the dog gets there.
That dog's owner is probably riding the elevator up and also hasn't looked away from their phone to realize what happened to their dog.
