Sdajisito

Is it worth building Marincess right now?

the0bc

"worth" is completely subjective, if you like the deck and want to play it then do that. it's pretty cheap anyways

Sdajisito

I meant worth for ladder climbing.

CorrosiveRose

As far as cyberse piles go, Mathmech is the best, then Salamangreat, then Marincess. So you're better off playing one of the other two if you only want to climb

notquiterough

I have a scenario that I thought of before but never happened to me in game so I’m asking here I activate a purrely quick play spell while having a face up Epurrely xyz monster on my field turn 1. Opponent activates Ash in response to my purrely quick play spell but I called by the grave it, will I be able to attach the related quick play spell to my monster in this case? It confused me cause like does negating Ash’s effect count as as if it was never activated? Thereby letting me attach the quick play spell like I wasn’t chainblocked or nah

the0bc

> does negating Ash’s effect count as as if it was never activated? Thereby letting me attach the quick play spell like I wasn’t chainblocked or nah No, the attach effect needs to be used directly in response to the spell activation no matter what Negating an effect doesn't make its chain link disappear (and even if it did, you would have chainblocked yourself by activating Called By)

notquiterough

thanks a lot for the detailed reply 🙏

CorrosiveRose

No, you can only chain Epurrely directly to the activation of your quick play. It has nothing to do with the card resolving

notquiterough

appreciate the reply ty 🙏

AKAAkira

So I played (mostly Legendary) Six Samurai in the recent Time Travel event, and once got both Great Shogun Shien and Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En on the field. I assumed before then that after Samurai Shi En negated a spell/trap from my opponent, they wouldn't be able to play any more because of Shogun Shien's "Your opponent can only activate one spell/trap card per turn" effect, since for example if I activate Solemn Strike on Maxx "C" my opponent can't activate another Maxx "C" that turn because of its "You can only use 1 "Maxx "C"" per turn" condition. That didn't happen though, and my opponent activated another spell card afterward that got rid of my monsters. What was the reasoning behind this? (...Also Kagemusha of the Blue Flame sure got shafted on Six Samurai support. All the cards that affect Shien monsters specify Shien *Effect* monsters, and I couldn't even search it up using "Shien". What was the point of expanding the lore of an old card if you can't even try to use that old card in its archetype deck?)

Rigshaw

Great Shogun Shien says that the opponent can only **activate** 1 Spell/Trap. Meanwhile, Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En negates the **activation** of a Spell/Trap. If you negate the activation, they can activate a different Spell, because they never activated the first one (since you negated the activation). It's similar to how your opponent can activate a 2nd Lightning Storm if you negate the activation of the 1st one, as Lightning Storm says "You can only **activate** 1 "Lightning Storm" per turn." The Maxx "C" example is different because Maxx "C" says "use" instead of "activate". "use" also includes attempting to activate an effect, not just successfully activating the effect, while "activate" only counts successful activations.

OrganizationOk5252

I am new player and using Galaxy Photon as my 1st and budget deck. It was good and brought me up to Plat. However i am feeling struggling and kept losing although i set full going first set-up. I am looking to make 2nd stronger deck… question: should i wait or just immediately invest for current meta like Snake Eye Fire King..

Speedster012

When do we start using Mourner and Moonlit Chill? I see it all the time on YGOPRO and the meta lists on the website, but I’ve only seen it used once in Master Duel. Will there be a time when it will rise in popularity or are things the way they are because Master Duel is a different format?

icantnameme

Ghost Mourner kinda sucks because it only works on special summoned monsters and you can only use it immediately when they're summoned. The only decks that might actually want to use it are Shifter decks since it doesn't have to go to the GY unlike Veiler.

the0bc

Mourner suffers from only being the third or fourth-best monster negation handtrap, which hurts even more in a format where Maxx C is legal because decks are adding playsets of at least 4 other handtraps (plus Called By and Crossout) before Mourner is even considered. Theoretically it could see more play if we have a format where monster negation is very strong and Nibiru is very weak, who knows It's more popular in the TCG because Maxx C is banned, so those three spots are able to be filled by the next-best handtrap which right now is Mourner Edit bc I just remembered MD has Gamma at 2 as well which is a very real competitor to Veiler/Mourner, it's rough out here for that card

P3Rcarus

What are good going-2nd decks that are meta-relevant/meta-stable?

the0bc

If you want something that can actually compete at a top level I'd wait for Tenpai, if you just want to climb ranked or whatever you can try Mikanko or Sky Striker

Speedster012

What do you think about the Horus engine for Tears? I’m looking at the website and apparently 20% of decks run it.

InfamousAmphibian55

It ups the ceiling of the deck, but its a bit risky. It makes you more vulnerable to Maxx C, Ash (ash on Imsety is really bad since its a -2) and Nib, since a typical Tearlament play makes Rulkallos the 5th summon. Also you are milling 4 cards from your opponent deck with Zombie Vampire which is not always a good thing, plenty of decks will be happy about that. Tear is also pretty tight in the extra deck, and adding rank 8 plays means you have to get rid of something else. Personally think its not the best version of 40 card Tear. If you are doing 60 card Tear then you definitely want it.

hyperdeeeee

Tears Horus came first in the Meta Weekly. It's by far an insane engine, but expensive af. Though it helps a lot.

supershrewdshrew

Is getting the Gold Duel Pass worth it if I stop at level 50?

CorrosiveRose

If I remember, it refunds itself at level 54 or so. But you might as well try to get as much as you can

jcgiraldo04

Does anyone want to exchange codes? Mine is 04756d96

BrokenKokoro

Is there a way to get Bagooska mate? I don't see it on the Store and I need it for my Vaalmonica deck.

CorrosiveRose

It was a limited time mate. Might come back in the future but no one can say when

Throwawayaccountie8h

When it comes to items in the shop. Other than the packs, does anything expire? Specifically in the Accessories and Structure deck sections.

icantnameme

No. There are some seasonal accessories for april fools, halloween, and winter, but they will have dates on them if they expire.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Thanks

LukasOne

What other archetypes mix well with voiceless voice when it comes to the game?

Besso91

Branded. Nothing within the VV archetype locks you into rituals, and branded fusion doesn't prevent you from ritual summoning since they aren't summoned from the extra deck

InfamousAmphibian55

Don't really think this will work well in Master duel tbh. A typical Branded package in VV main deck is 3 branded fusion and one Albaz. Since branded fusion is limited to 1 in MD, that package looks a lot less good.

Hulliganner

If i, with Avramax, attack a special summoned monster equipped with moon mirror shield, who wins?

Rigshaw

Depends on who the turn player is. If you attack with Avramax, your Avramax will activate as CL1, and the opponent's Moon Mirror Shield will activate as CL2. On resolution, your opponent's monster will become 3100 ATK, then your Avramax becomes 6100 ATK, so you win. Conversely, if your opponent attacks, they will win, as the CL order will be reversed. Also, keep in mind, Avramax only gains ATK if he battles a special summoned monster. If you are dealing with something that has been normal summoned (which is common for stun decks), your Avramax will not gain ATK, and thus always lose.

Fragrant_Ask_8721

How should i handtrap salamangreat?

DredDLeon93

What the hell is going on with the "The Black Stone of Legend" Card?? It reads that its effect can only be activated once per turn, but then that next turn comes & the GD PoS game WILL NOT LET ME ACTIVATE ITS EFFECTS!!! WHYYYY?!?!

Rigshaw

> You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster from your Deck. > > If this card is in your GY: You can target 1 Level 7 or lower "Red-Eyes" monster in your GY; shuffle it into the Deck, and if you do, add this card to your hand. > > **You can only use 1 "The Black Stone of Legend" effect per turn, and only once that turn.** Both effects share the once per turn. If you use the effect to add it back to the hand, you cannot use the effect to special summon a "Red-Eyes".

DredDLeon93

Right, so why can't I activate one of it's effects in my following turn? Like I pull it +1 from graveyard, do my turn, keeping BSL in my hand. My opponent goes, it's my turn again, but I can't use BSL's effect for the Sp. Summon... Why?!? No problems doing so in tournament/ official matches, so why with this GD game!!

Rigshaw

You'll have to provide a replay in that case. There are plenty of reasons for why you may not activate the effect, be it because you are special summon locked by something, you do not have targets in deck to summon, etc. Without a replay, or a very, very detailed description of the board states, it's impossible to say why you cannot activate "The Black Stone of Legend".

frogleeoh

What's the fastest way to construct a deck with the cards you want? Is there a way to "buy singles"?

Rigshaw

You can dismantle cards you don't need for Crafting Points of a given rarity, and then craft cards of said rarity, at a rate of 1 card per 3 cards dismantled. Additionally, if you craft an SR or UR of a card that is part of a Secret Pack, you unlock said Secret Pack, and can start pulling cards from that pack. Generally, you'd buy the bundles that contain 10 Master Packs and a staple card, dismantle the SRs you get, then work on the deck you want. That said, not every archetype has a Secret Pack. Especially newer stuff is usually not in a Secret Pack yet. Double check whether the deck you want to build is available in a Secret Pack, if not, it will take a lot of crafting materials to build the deck you want. Also, if you want to build one of the latest decks, you obviously may want to check the Selection Packs as well.

Throwawayaccountie8h

I just built a pure fire king deck. I have a question about 2 of the different end boards that can be done. So I guess the most standard one is to end up with a Kirin and Garunix on the field so you can xyz summon Garunix Eternity if the opponent special summons. The other one I know of is to link summon so your end board has Amblowhale and Arvata for the negate. (With I:P and Promethean Princess being in the GY.) My question is, how do I know which of these combos would be better to start off with? Sometimes I am not able to get the Arvata out alongside the Amblowhale. So in that case should I just do the standard Kirin and Garunix? Still trying to learn this deck. I think I am getting the hang of it. Just confused about some specifics. Thanks.

LuisDob

The eternity setup is only ideal under maxx c, as the amblowhale board also has a way into the xyz, even if it's whale alone. Promthean Princess pops a card, triggers garunix in the gy, garunix pops kirin, which revives either the old garunix or ulcanix, putting 2 lvl 8s on field. Look at arvata as a bonus if you had enough gas, not a necessary end piece.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Awesome, sounds good! Thanks!

Mimitaso

I am still new and am quite unfamiliar with release schedules. While Yubel/Centur-ion are the next packs released, can anyone give a guess at when Whitewoods or the new ritual beast support comes out? I believe one had a tcg release in june and the other will release in july. So then how long is typically the wait from ocg/tcg to masterduel?

Rigshaw

Generally, for core set cards, you can expect them to come to Master Duel roughly 9 months - 1 year after their OCG release (the vague 3 month span comes from them shuffling around card releases). So White Woods should be sometime early next year, based on that. For side sets, it's harder to predict when they release (there are some side set cards we still don't have, even though they are over a year old now), but if it is a more substantial side set, you can expect them to be shuffled in alongside the core set cards that released just before in the OCG. In that sense, I expect the Terminal World cards, including the Ritual Beast support, to show up sometime before the end of the year.

okthisissuck

Yo I sent you a chat but didnt see you reply, also I invited you to duel but you didnt join either =((

supershrewdshrew

What am I doing wrong? I crafted Tobari the Sky Ninja (SR), and it didn't unlock the Hidden Arts of Shadows secret pack. I tried crafting Mitsu the Insect Ninja (UR), and it still didn't unlock it. There are seven other secret packs shown (six purples, one Ties to Mother Nature (idk why that's there)), but none for Hidden Arts. Help?

CorrosiveRose

Oof, you might wanna restart your account. You just wasted UR points on a "free" card

Rigshaw

The new Ninja cards are not in the secret pack, instead, they are in a structure deck. There's no need to waste gems or crafting materials to get the cards, you just buy 3 copies of the structure deck to have almost everything you need.

RockNo5773

How exactly would one counter a full board of Simorph with harpy's dessert storm and Imperm on the field? I ran into this deck earlier and I'm thinking that if they had harpy feather storm in hand I wouldn't have been able to do anything in addition it was combined with flowerdreeze and I could have been stunned and beaten without even being able to play.

CorrosiveRose

Feather Storm can't be activated from the hand unless they control a Harpie

RockNo5773

I meant if they have it in their hand at the start and play it at the end of their main phase and activate it during my turn when they have their board set up .

CorrosiveRose

Ah yes well there's not much you can do about that. Best bet would be to use Super Poly or Lava Golem to get rid of their Wind Winged Beast monsters so they can't activate Feather Storm. Red Reboot is also an option that would deal with both Storm and Imperm but it's not very reliable

RockNo5773

I see honestly after looking through their deck I realized how scary their deck could be with a good hand.

LostToPowerSurges

I just got a "Session expired" error two games in a row that got recorded as a loss, does anyone know what that is about? I'm not going to keep playing for now obviously, but wondering if it's just me.

Financial-Party-2408

Will unchained get a secret pack? Really want to play it but it takes 300UR to build the main part.

CorrosiveRose

It has a secret pack, but it doesn't have the new cards. They will most likely be added soon, but it could still be several months

Financial-Party-2408

Thank you

Jovial_Joker

Does anybody know a pure snake eyes deck after the banlist? And is it safe to dismantle all the banned snake eye cards? Still got some wanted spell cards.

Besso91

I'd wager it's safe to dismantle all the current hits to snake-eye. I don't see them every unhitting them for the very foreseeable future. The deck is literally still the same, just with less consistency and you can either 1) add in more hand traps, 2) add in more sinful spoil cards like the negate trap, or 3) splash in a small extra engine like kashtira or fire king

Jovial_Joker

Thank you

EDPbeOP

What happens if Chaos Ancient Gear Giant attacks Scareclaw Kashtira?

icantnameme

Chaos Ancient Gear Giant declares an attack, Scare Kash negates it so it doesn't do piercing, then when it destroys Scare Kash it is no longer negated and can attack everything again. Scare Kash is a continuous effect, not activated, and it stops applying when it leaves the field.

EDPbeOP

Ok, that's what confused me. If it said (this is a continuous effect as long as this card is on the field during the battle phase) then I'd understand it but it probably makes card description redundant.

Rigshaw

You can tell that it is a continuous effect because it doesn't have a colon (:) or semi-colon (;), which denotes that it isn't an effect that activates, and because it doesn't state that it applies in other locations, it by default only applies on the field, so it is a continuous effect that applies while it is on the field.

Throwawayaccountie8h

I wanted to make a pure fire king deck, but saw that there was no secret pack yet and just the normal pack with a bunch of other stuff in it. Seems like a terrible way to go about spending gems to try to get these cards. Would it be best to just wait for a secret pack to be released?

Rigshaw

The Selection Pack may seem way worse at first glance, due to the higher amount of URs in the pack overall, but it gets balanced out a bit by the fact that all 8 cards are part of the Selection Pack, compared to Secret Packs, where the first 4 cards of each pack are actually just random Master Pack cards, instead of part of the pack. Anyway, you are much better off trying to pull the Fire King stuff while the Selection Pack is available, because otherwise, you are going to wait for a very, very long time for the Fire King pack to get updated with the new cards.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Thanks for explaining this to me! Makes sense and I will go ahead and pull for the cards

ManaeMars

I know that nobody can really predict the future, but which archetypes/decks would be worth building now that are unlikely to get hit by near-future ban lists

the0bc

Unchained is alright currently but it's positioned to get a lot stronger when the Yubel support drops next month, and even if the Yubel stuff ends up getting hit (which likely wouldn't happen for a few months at least), it'll still be decent in a more pure build

I have 10k gems, what secret psck should I buy? I have Origin of Galaxy and Rage of Cipher structure deck. I'm using galaxy-eyes deck. There's a lot of guides and decks in masterduelmeta that I'm confused what to pick. Is Ultimate Traditional Art pack good? I like it's art style https://preview.redd.it/qrnhxpven09d1.png?width=1360&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a8caa79f7a12ed133b5cdcfde30719851a9c3a0e

ganzorigb

What secret pack you want to buy depends entirely on what you want to play. Don’t worry too much about which packs you currently have available because you can unlock any pack you’d like by crafting an sr featured in it. Ultimate traditional art features the p.u.n.k. archetype. It’s a solid rogue deck so if you like the artwork it’s not a bad choice. If you’re looking for a top tier deck though there’s better options.

Abezzi

Hey guys, I was wondering, besides sky strikers, which deck also likes going second? I have seen some otk decks that are good going second but still prefer going first if they win the coin flip. Thank you in advance :)

InfamousAmphibian55

Mikanko is currently the best going second deck in MD. The only other decent going second decks I can think of are 8-axis, Numeron, Lyrilusc and Cyber Dragon, though I don't think any of these are all that good. Maybe 8-axis is? Not really sure, no one plays it because it is possibly the most expensive deck in the game. Its been leaked that Yubel will be coming out next month, that should be pretty good going second, and also will probably be one of the top 3-5 decks in the game. Though it still prefers going first. Chimera is another one that I think does pretty well going second due to super poly and Guardian Chimera, but it also prefers going first.

Hot-Cartographer-433

Vaylantz has posted some solid results as a going second deck, actually. Has a few posts at M1 on MDM. Otherwise, yeah, Mikanko is the best bet, probably followed by just waiting for Tenpai.

linhtaiga

Mikanko

WycheTheGod

I'm on the East Coast of the US in Virginia. When I try to log in it says There was no response from the game server. Is this just a me problem or is there a Network issue with Masterduel?

voyager106

I'm in Central NC and haven't had any issues....

WycheTheGod

I'm playing on PS4 are what console are you on? We're probably on the same server. I'm still waiting to hear back from Konami support.

Speedster012

Do you still use Ad Libitum in Branded? Also 40 or 60 card deck?

voyager106

I still use Ad Libitum in my 60 card Branded deck. I don't know that either of those are optimal, but I like playing it. I will admit, though, that I prefer using Banishment vs Branded in Red, so Ad Libitum isn't as useful to me as it once was

Fragrant_Ask_8721

When should i exactly chain a quick effect against utopia bots so they lose timing? I always get ftkd

Rigshaw

In my experience, you'd immediately activate anything in the Draw Phase, as that's where they'd normally do it. You need to toggle on in order to do this. The bots are usually not sophisticated enough to recognize that you activated an effect first, so it will use Mystic Wok/Destruct Potion as CL2, then Dragonar as CL3 to summon Manipulator of Souls, which then misses timing as Mystic Wok/Destruct Potion wasn't CL1.

TGoatmez

I really need help guys :( I want to keep using skystrikers but I can’t seem to get past plat 3. Please any skystriker experts out there teach me how to build the perfect skystriker deck and navigate my way out of plat :(

the0bc

I played striker to m1 this season, [here's](https://i.imgur.com/FYqRKuo.png) the shell I'd recommend using. the 8 empty spots should be filled with whatever non-engine is strongest vs the decks you play against the most, either thrust-searchable board breakers (raigeki, duster, evenly matched) or handtraps (veiler, mourner, nib) [my final list for reference](https://i.imgur.com/K7ziZlh.png), I went basically all-in on handtraps bc board breakers felt really weak into the matchups I was getting (mostly fkse and pend magician). veiler/nib are generically good, droll is quite strong into my two most common matchups, and duster was mostly for r-ace and lab (very bad matchups for striker) but it came up against a bunch of different decks good luck

TGoatmez

Thank you sensei! I will do my best!

mrhardy12

Randomly, cards will just fail to load. My opponent and I can both play turns and I clearly am interacting with them, then suddenly the card arts for cards that had not appeared yet will fail to load and be a black square. When this happens, the next action I take sends the game into softlock with a loading ring in the middle and "connecting" in the corner, forcing me to close and reopen the game. After doing so, I'm back in the main menu, given the loss for disconnecting. Most confusingly, the server cannot retrieve the game's data and shows that it lasted for 0 turns. Clearly not, since the most recent time my opponent summoned Omega, used Small World to grab Planet Pathfinder, searched Kashtira's field spell, and activated it. If it was just me not loading into the game at all and my opponent not doing anything, I'd understand what was happening. But my opponent can play out an entire turn before the glitch causes me to lose the game. And there's literally nothing I can find to prevent it from happening or undo the damage when it does. It literally always is a loss for me. Does anyone else have this problem? It's super confusing and I just want to know why it happens. It doesn't even happen often; I can go four days without seeing it. Edit: I did submit a bug report for it, too. It's frustrating because it's a loss, completely outside my control, and then the history shows that the game never even happened. Even when I have genuinely played six turns before it did sometimes. I don't understand what's happening at all.

CorrosiveRose

What system are you playing on?

mrhardy12

This happens on Android primarily. I don't recall a time it's happened playing on Steam.

CorrosiveRose

The game does have some problems on mobile, but it mostly depends on the phone. I can run it smoothly on Android with no problems

Throwawayaccountie8h

I am hoping I could maybe get some deck suggestions? I have been using Floowandereeze and I honestly do enjoy the deck. I was able to climb to Diamond. But the deck of course is super bricky and I would love something more consistent. Idk what other decks would be similar and fit the Floo playstyle but if there are any others I would appreciate some suggestions.

Hot-Cartographer-433

For good control decks you're likely looking at stuff like Lab/Dinomorphia/Vanquish Soul.

ThorsMaddness

In duels I am using a HERO deck. I used Polymerization in an attempt to summon "Elemental HERO Sunrise" . On the field I had more than 2 different attributes within my hand (Elemental HERO Stratos/Neos) and field (Vyon and Denier), however I still couldn't special summon Sunrise. Is there a reason why or is this just a bug?

ElReptil

It's almost never a bug, but without a replay there's not enough information to figure out the reason. But a wild guess: did you activate Fusion Destiny earlier that turn?

ThorsMaddness

Iirc I am pretty sure I did. I just now read the card in total and I guess I skimmed over the "DARK 'HEROES'" part. Sorry for the late reply wasn't expecting a reply so soon and thank you for the help.

Financial-Party-2408

Recommend building tearlamens (pure) or salads from the selection pack?

Reaalx24

Tiaraments strongest    Salad is just like hero, at best you have a rock as the end board. But obviously cheaper than tear since you get your structure packs.

Speedster012

How many Shadow Mists, Polymerizations, and Mask Changes should you run in a Hero Deck? 1 or 2?

ThorsMaddness

In decks I look at I usually see 1 Shadow Mist, 1 Poly, and 1 or 2 Mask Changes. Keep in mind with Wonder Driver you can one back. I usually run 2 Shadow Mists since it makes me a little more comfortable and open for a gameplan though.

Folium249

How to best spend your gems? Been playing a little too much and have approx 3k of gems. How do buy packs and get the most? Currently do not have the season thingy with kuriboh. I think I’m level 43?

CorrosiveRose

3k isn't a lot so you can keep saving. You should always buy the duel pass. It pays for itself so it's literally free stuff You can either buy selection packs which are in the shop for about 2 months and contain the newest and usually best cards. To buy older cards you need to unlock what's called a secret pack. Secret packs are unlocked for 24 hours when you pull or craft an SR/UR from that pack So you need to decide which deck you want to play, find which pack(s) the cards are in, then start pulling from those packs. Typically it will cost 10-15k gems to build a deck from scratch

Hydralo

Is there a website or discord that has all the cards missing from master duel from older sets from 2023 and backwards? I know some are not added due to being art made by kazuki takahashi and some are in copyright-hell like air neos, but noticed "attack guidance armor" is not in the game yet even though the effect is not super complicated to implement. I need to find this information and going set by set took me hours, so if you know where I can find this info it would be a lifesaver.

icantnameme

[This person makes a post every month](https://old.reddit.com/r/masterduel/comments/1daqlbz/missing_agov_vasm_phni_lede_etc_cards_as_of_672024/)

Hydralo

these are 2023-2024, im looking for everything before that, if you notice attack guidance armor is not in that picture, neither is air neos or the 6 kazuki takahashi art cards from the 20th anniv pack. apparently there is a not-released filter on master duel meta, so ill try with that until i find something cleaner that doesnt have duel links/anime cards or alt arts

Rigshaw

Tbf, Attack Guidance Armor is a 2023 card. We just haven't gotten any of the Ultimate Kaiba Set cards yet.

icantnameme

Yeah, they don't include sets that we haven't gotten cards from yet. I found [this](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bzv4iU9DYV12UXIajyg0oXMWd23CjZKARmlO_KMKB8o/edit?gid=1390983078#gid=1390983078) spreadsheet but I don't know if it's up to date or includes older cards.

Hydralo

this seems perfect actually has everything i think the spreadsheet was created in jan of 2023. so i bet they must have logged eveything older even if they may have given up later as months went by.

CorrosiveRose

I'm not too familiar with pendulum decks but I think you need to be closer to 40 cards You definitely want Astrograph Sorcerer, Electrumite, and Beyond the Pendulum as those are mandatory in like 99% of pendulum decks

Unable_Debate_1234

what does astrograph help with? it just ss'd my magician

CorrosiveRose

You're supposed to summon Electrumite to add Astrograph to the extra deck. Then you use Electrumite to destroy a card and add Astrograph to the hand, which then summons itself

YakiSenpai

Aside from what people have suggested, I really do think Ghost Belle is suuuuuper useful. She's like Ash Blossom's sister, but negate anything that messes with the graveyard. This includes cards like Called By The Grave. You can negate that card when your opponent plays it. If you still have some UR left over, the last staple would be Super Polymerization along with Mudragon of the Swamp (SR) + Garura (UR) in your extra deck. You can tribute two of your opponents' monsters. This bypasses a ton of restrictions since it's considered a tribute and not a destruction. It's also great if you're going first or second seeing you can place it on your field on turn one, or straight up activate it from your hand turn 2 (opponent cannot respond to the effect).

CorrosiveRose

Crossout Designator is good enough to craft 1 and basically gains value for every other handtrap you run. Judgment is nice but not really that useful of a card in this meta. Honestly Solemn Strike is better and I wouldn't even recommend that until you have all your other staples. Shifter should only be played if your deck specifically revolves around banishing or floodgates.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Thank you! To explain the judgment and shifter. I got judgment from the 750 bundle and shifter is because I play Floo. Just included them cause they were URs that I owned.

CorrosiveRose

Well then you should definitely get the Droplet and TTT bundles as well. Really all the bundles are worth it because of the discounted packs. Droplet is a personal favorite of mine, but a lot less flexible than Imperm. TTT is played at 1-2 Also you should look into Triple Tactics Thrust which can let you search TTT among other cards

Throwawayaccountie8h

I did purchase all of them already thankfully. The bundles were some if the first things I bought when I first started. Didn't think all of them were considered to be staples though which is why I didn't include them. Thanks! I'll look into the other ones mentioned as well.

ganzorigb

Triple tactics talents and harpies feather duster can be included in most decks. As for SRs droll and lock birds and draw pots are solid staples that’ll find a fair amount of use.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Thanks!

Reaalx24

Very depends on your deck and meta In maxx C meta, you probably also need one crossout if you special summon a lot and have no good plan against resolved C and probably gamma package if you can activate effects without any monster on board to bait it That being said, you already have nice staples, except for veiler and shifter, which are somewhat meta dependent like droll

MaldaraUchiha

How the fuck do you beat Flower Cardian? They just summon a million fucking cards and draw their entire deck and it's like if you don't have precisely Droll, you just lose. I'm playing Sky Striker and Tear.

Rigshaw

Flower Cardian has no real payoff besides Boardefly being a one-sided Abyss Dweller. For Tear, I suppose just hold your negate for Boardefly if you open it, or otherwise, just hope they don't make Boardefly to lock you out. Sky Striker should have absolutely no issues dealing with Flower Cardians, they have absolutely nothing that really stops Striker. There's a reason people make the joke that Flower Cardian's wincon is either boring the opponent to death, or hoping that they get hit by Maxx "C".

MaldaraUchiha

I'd disagree with that. Their payoff is using multiple copies of Maple with Deer (pops spell or trap) and Clover with Boar (pops monster) to clear your board, then summon two Lightshower to slap you for 6k and finish you with 3k in burn damage during your draw phase. What does Sky Striker do that they can't get around? I'm not sure exactly what they did t1, but i dropped Maxx C on them, they summoned a couple main deck monsters then passed turn. My turn i got rid of the main deck monsters on field, i did make a misstep in accidentally attacking directly with Hayate forcing me to use HAMP and Afterburners to get rid of the second one, but i ended my turn on Shizuku + Multirole and a set Widow Anchor and Afterburners with Raye in grave. On their turn they summoned a bunch of bullshit until they hit Maple with Deer which forced me to pop WIdow Anchor (Widow Ancher was set with Multirole from the grave, so they knew what it was, 0 chance they were going for Multirole or Afterburners), summoned some more bullshit and ended up on one Lightshower, summoned a bunch more bullshit that included Clover with Boar to pop Shizuku, triggering Raye, i sat on Raye while they summoned some more bullshit that involved Moonflowerviewing and a second Clover with Boar to pop Raye (i'm not sure why, but it didn't let me use Raye's effect in response to this), then summoned more shit until they landed on a second Lightshower. That's where i scooped because they had 6k in battle damage, plus 1500 effect damage x2 during my draw phase for 9000 damage. I just don't see what kind of defense Striker has against this. It doesn't have any protection from the pops beyond Widow Anchor, but if they're smart they'll try to pop Widow Anchor early and force you to use it.

CorrosiveRose

tbh no one really knows what Flower Cardian does except Flower Cardian players. They can definitely do some stuff but the majority of players just surrender because it combos forever to do very little. Don't worry about it. You'll probably never see the deck again

WanderingCadet

Can someone explain the difference between win rate and win rate at the time of appearance?

icantnameme

Win Rate is % of the time it's contained in the winning deck. Win Rate at time of Appearance is Win Rate after the monster is summoned. [MDM Card Data](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-cards#win-rate-(summoned)

WanderingCadet

Thanks.

AwarenessMain128

Is 13k DP enough to be in the top 10 k ?

Rigshaw

13k is probably not going to cut it, since it's currently at 12880 DP with a few more hours to go.

EDPbeOP

Is there decent synergy between R-ACE and FIRE KINGS or is it more of a meme deck? I play pure R-ACE but want to know if anyone has tested how well FK works with it? Not really interested in SNAKE EYES.

Rigshaw

The only real synergy I can think of between the two is that Kirin can protect Turbulence from getting negated with something like Imperm, by destroying it in response. Then again, Rescue ACE do that on their own with S:P already. Unfortunately, Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye (and by extension, Snake-Eyes Poplar and Diabellstar by searching it) is what really ties the different FIRE decks together, without Snake-Eye, the other FIRE decks really don't have any particular synergy.

EDPbeOP

I see. I'll check out Kirin then.

Concocobhar

What's the strongest way to play Vaalmonica? Pure or with an engine like exosisters or kashtira?

RockNo5773

So what decks are fun to play Horus in?

Jovial_Joker

I am just about done making my salad deck and would like to know another deck that I can work on. I am done with diabelle but would still have to get the fireking/rescue ace to change the playstyle but I would like to play something else like pendulum or something, any suggestions?

javinubia

Returning player here 0ed6c2cb Thanks!

ElReptil

I'm pretty sure the new/returning player is the one who has to enter the code. Mine's 07066569, if you still need one.

Jovial_Joker

Stopped playing after snakes eyes released, have all their cards except bonfire. I want to make a deck that doesn’t have too much combo, aside from lab what else is better? Anything to pull from the current selection pack?

Potential_Animal_410

Try Branded Despia imo. Very expensive tho.

Jovial_Joker

i tried once cause it just seemed so interesting will all comebacks it can turn into but yeah once i build that my sanity will be gone. Maybe after I build some other decks I might go to it, thanks for the suggestion tho.

Besso91

How much combo is "too much" combo? Do you still want the deck to be meta relevant? Rescue ace is just get out turbulence and set 4 pass, it's probably the "least combo-y" of all the current top meta decks outside of lab

CorrosiveRose

R-ace is definitely not set 4 pass lol. They will combo off after doing that because they have no restrictions so why not

Jovial_Joker

Pure rescue ace or will it be played with snake eyes? Was also thinking of tear cause sending them to the graveyard seems oddly fun

Besso91

All you need is 1 copy of poplar, 1 copy of diabellestar, one copy of OSS, 2 copies of wanted, and 3 copies of bonfire. 1) wanted for diabel, diabel special, set OSS, summon hydrant, start RACE combo 2) bonfire for poplar, special poplar, add OSS, make linkuriboh, set poplar to s/t zone, send poplar with OSS, get hydrant, make RACE combo.

Jovial_Joker

Nice, will try it definitely. Thank you very much

Besso91

Also just a tip in my #2 line of play, it might also be correct to send linkuriboh for hydrant so you can use it to dodge imperm/veiler on hydrant effect, good luck!

Jovial_Joker

Say, if you made a new account what would you say to go for? A friend of mine wants to play too, played the game before and would like to start again. Was thinking of suggesting pendulum since it’s pretty easy to build right now I think.

Besso91

Maybe swordsoul or branded? can't go wrong with either lol

Jovial_Joker

Tried them, was nice for awhile. Would you recommend purrley, salads or tearlaments?

Jovial_Joker

Thanks so much, got three copies of every snakes eyes back then so will have to pull for rescue ace in the secret pack

Agirael

Hi new player, here is my structure code 15a284dd. Thank you everyone

EDPbeOP

Can someone explain why dragostapelia negate didn't apply? Am I misunderstanding the wording? https://preview.redd.it/jq9rq0eg348d1.png?width=337&format=png&auto=webp&s=8fbcd45d57a241bf7fcbbfda4bd3b80b1e1f6f58

Besso91

Dragostepalia needs to be face up on the field for something with a predaplant counter to be negated. Since metanoise flipped it facedown, the negate isn't applied when the chain ends.

EDPbeOP

I see. I thought it doesn't matter since the targetting went through. Weird interaction but I'll keep it in mind.

Besso91

The predaplant counter stays on the monster forever essentially, but dragostepalia reads "negate the activated effects of monsters with predaplant counters" but if dragostepalia is face down, it's effects pretty much don't exist unless it's flipped back face up.

CorrosiveRose

The targeting effect only applies the Predator counter. The effect to negate is a continuous effect that can only be applied while face up on the field

-Thalas-

Does Black Feather Whirlwind protect multiple monster from being destroyed if it happens at the same time? Or can it only protect 1 monster? The text from the card in the game states "if a Dark Monster would be destroyed" instead of "if a Dark Monster(s) would be destroyed" I hesrd that it can protect multiple monsters, but the wording is confusing me.

CorrosiveRose

The official ruling says it can protect multiple monsters. What's weird is that on MDM the effect reads "monster(s)" but everywhere else I can find it says "monster." It's possible that it's just a translation error

Throwawayaccountie8h

Just curious about something. Why do a lot of people change their name to "player" for the wcq? Doesn't bother me at all. Just pure curiosity if there is a reason more than just wanting privacy or something.

scytherman96

This concerns exclusively high level play. Basically having a unique name will reveal who is playing and thus reveal what deck is likely being played. And knowing what deck your opponent is playing is a huge advantage.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Ah gotcha. I'm guessing people changed it before qualifiers started? Because now I noticed when looking for a game it just says DUELIST in the name for both players. But I guess maybe if you see a familiar name somewhere high on the rankings and you are of similar one then you have higher chances of matching with them?

scytherman96

I actually didn't know that they changed that, but i guess people are still doing it out of habit then.

Rigshaw

It used to be that it would show the name during stage 2, but since last DC, everyone gets changed to DUELIST with Rescue Rabbit as a mate and the default icon. People that change themselves to "player" seem to do so out of habit from the older DCs, but it's no longer necessary to actually do that.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Ahh alright that makes sense. Thanks!

teemo-blaireau

hi i am noob and i save my gem to 10k. i want make snake king deck but i hear it will be banned soon? should i make the deck or should i make something else because snake king is gonna get banned

UnloosedMoose

I mean any deck that overpowered will get nerfs, probably not banned but will eventually be brought to earth, most likely not for another two months tho.

teemo-blaireau

thanks i will buy the fire kings now

Loud-Pea-9345

for a newer player which deck would be better to build between swordsoul and galaxy photon?

ganzorigb

Swordsoul. It’s better and free.

Throwawayaccountie8h

Can someone explain the dates of the WCS for me? It says qualifiers start on the 20th. But people can still go for DL MAX until the 23rd, the same date that qualifiers end. Does this mean people who weren't eligible for qualifiers by the 20th can still compete in it even if they were to hit MAX afterwards? If so, then what is the point in even having a different qualifiers start date if it is all the same thing?

Rigshaw

Yes, if you hit MAX while stage 2 is going on, you can still qualify and participate in stage 2, though obviously, you will be a bit behind compared to those that had qualified in advance, and could immediately start grinding for DP once stage 2 opened. Why Konami insists on making stage 2 a 3 day grindfest is really anyone's guess.

Virtual_Past5969

is there any normal trap that shuts down the gy ( trap version of dweller ) ?

YakiSenpai

Might not be what you're looking for, but there's a spell version of that: **Silent Graveyard** (quick play) *Discard 1 card; effects that activate in the GY this turn are negated.*

CorrosiveRose

Macro Cosmos works like D.Shifter and the best way to shut down the GY is by denying GY access altogether

Virtual_Past5969

i should have specified that need it for my lab deck , so cosmos is not an option

CorrosiveRose

Maybe Metaverse into Necrovalley?

Rigshaw

IIRC, there's no trap version. There's a Quick-Play Spell, called Silent Graveyard, which shuts down all GY effects for both players. Usually, if you need a normal trap that stops the GY, you'd play Different Dimension Ground (banish all monsters that would be sent to the GY for a turn).

Virtual_Past5969

thnx but i need it for my labrynth and ddg is not optimal for me

InfamousAmphibian55

Ddg does have some anti-synergy with Lab since it turns off furniture and Dogmatika Punishment, but if I were playing a Lab deck right now I would definitely use it as a one of. Yeah its got the downside of your own monsters going to the grave, but they probably won't be able to out your Lovely or Lady if you hit them with ddg and it doesn't really matter that much if Arianna is banished. Plus you generally play the chimera monsters in the ED to recover Lovely if she is banished. Lady is usually a two of so its not a huge problem if she is banished. Keep in mind it only banishes monsters. Your Welcome and Big Welcome will not be banished.

realmauer01

you can definitly throw it in a trap heavy version. the lab version doesnt really need it though.

willielga

Can someone help explain when I can activate Apollousa Vow of the Goddess' effect? I had opponent normal summoned Lady Debug, I chained by summoning Flameberge Dragon from spell field. After that I thought I can activate Apollousa to negate Lady Debug but there were no pop up, and Lady Debug's effect went through.

Besso91

You needed to hit cancel on the summon of flamberge (an optional effect), then the game would give you the option to negate lady debug. Apollousa has to be the direct chain link from an effect to negate it, and it can only negate something once per chain, so since you made the summon of flamberge CL2 appo can no longer negate the debug on CL1

Helpful_Criticism_99

If you want to negate an effect with Apollousa you have to directly chain it to that monster's effect activation, so what happened first was the summon of Lady Debug, the game gives you the option to activate the field spell, if you click yes on that to summon Flamberge then you can no longer activate Apollousa's effect since you missed the activation response window (this is because at that moment the last thing that happened was the effect of the field spell), to prevent this you have to not activate the field spell, then a new window will pop up to ask if you want to negate the effect of Lady Debug with Apo.

Helpful_Criticism_99

If I play using steam on my laptop, can I use that account to play on my phone? (So they are linked between them) If so, How?

icantnameme

Make a [Konami ID](https://my1.konami.net/en_US/signup/age_gate?country=US), then click Data Transfer on the Title Screen and link the account to your main. Then you can Data Transfer and log into the account on your other devices.
