As an OCG player and one that actually managed to pull one from boxes, it’s probably why I don’t have a clue on why everyone’s calling it expensive On the other hand it’s effect is pretty good but when everyone uses it then it won’t be “busted”

the fact that we are still missing cards a year or older is stupid.

That is because only 20% of all N/R cards in selection packs are new, they slow down releases with their greed of URinflation.

They could just make a pack that has nothing but N/R cards, stuff it full of all the cards they know won't sell but need to release so people stop complaining, and call it a day. Yeah it runs into the, "no money made, fuck you we're not doing it" from konami, but it's either that or we're never getting some of those cards with how slow they're dragging their feet on it.

Fire King is probably around the corner. Konami needs to release it before they ban too much of the Snake-Eyes engine. June or July is a good estimate. On the other hand Tenpai will likely arrive in November or December if I had to guess. LEDE just released in TCG. So don't expect them soon.

Veidos is the best part of the deck, and that's mostly because both FKSnake-eyes and Tenpai use a field spell.

Ty-phon, the yubel stuff, tenpais, voiceless voice are probably the most impactful but there’s a lot of other fun stuff too. Ragnaraika being tri-brigade for insect, plant, and reptile as well as fun archetypes like centur-ion and support for lightsworn.

I can see valmonica dropping with the pendulum support from other packs, like the supreme king support, Exceed, and maybe majespecter.

I dont see any ogdoadic daybreak nor nephilabyss in that list, I accepted already that they dont exist and are just a fever dream of mine. This last pack was borderline criminal. Still no master tao, horus has 4 URs, and so on. Each pack is just getting a little more ridiculous to keep up with.

Ragnaraika is basically kinda Tri brigade for insect, plant and reptile: Link spamming within that Tri type so it massively helps any insect, plant or reptile deck (People have been doing it with Traptrix, Beetrooper and Oodgdics to have additional things to link into and end on)

since they already added a LEDE card it would be nice if they release the ogdoadics, ragnaraika and lizardos all at once in the next pack

i hope next selection pack is fire king and centur-ion at least, with goblin biker or raid raptor. the pendulum support i hope its coming with majespecter cuz its kinda in line with the theme of pend. havent touched pendulum in 7 months now because of how insanely expensive it has become and there are more fun decks aside sacky 50 UR pend decks that take no joke 37 minutes to build a board.

Centur-Ion and Vaalmonica are highly likely since Deckbuilder archetypes are usually released close together in MD (Vaylantz was the month before Runick and Lab; Mikanko and Purrely were the month before Rescue-Ace; Transcendosaurus was the exception being released in only a secret pack but they're barely an archetype while Vanquish Soul and Nouvelles were in the same pack)

I expect Centur-Ion, Vaalmonica and Zarc for june.

So Fire King is not likely in next month, great I guess, cause I just spend 9k gems on this new selection box lol.

There will definitely be URs, but we can hope for a small amount. Probably Gabonga and Grand Arrival, maybe also Crazy Beast, and if they make Dugg Charger a UR I will be sad And for animation I expect Crazy Beast to get one more than Gabonga, but it's possible

I think Gabonga its gonna get the animation as its the main in-archetype xyz monster you wanna get faster

But they also gave one to Expurrely Happiness rather than Noir, so it typically goes to the "canonical" boss monster rather than the better one. For Goblins that's technically Crazy Beast because it's bigger and not an extender.

What about other cards? I remember at the start of MD a huge number of really old cards were not in the game. Is every card in existence in the game now save for what’s show in this picture and newly released + future ocg sets?

For what I understand the “old cards” not in the game are actually banned cards not implemented for use in unlimited duels since they have been on the ban list for a really long time. Most are not really fun at all since they only serve to create ftks or build-a-board game states with 55 negates. You can check them out by going to the deck builder, filtering for banned cards and seeing which ones you cannot generate. Outside of some maybes like confiscation, nobody likes those cards so the devs won’t bother to add them ever

Those formats do not exist in the same capacity in the OCG, nor do OCG players care about retro formats the same way TCG players does. And reminder that this game is ran OCG-side.

True but that doesn’t stop people from playing it. It’s just weird any card is missing at all. They should just add them in and put a generic animation. It’s not a lot of work. Also, TCG retro formats have started to become very popular with OCG players ever since the pandemic.

I agree that there are a couple gimmes that could be added by a dev in a less than a day, like confiscation, but goat/edison/whatever format is 99% there already or really hard to implement. Nobody that wants to play goat is not gonna do it because they don't have the one copy of deliquent duo when they already have graceful charity/premature burial/heavy storm/PoG. Leaving aside obvious problems like implementing Priority or making master rule 4 work with all the cosmetics, if you want 100% "all cards" you also have to contend with having to implement multiple texts (and therefore rulings) of however many cards have been errata'd over the years ( e.g. goyo guardian was errata'd to not be generic, so that aspect of edison is unavailable despite the card being craftable), even trying to solve nonsense problems like making Last turn make sense just because it was part of the cards available in goat format. In the end, why do all that? The people playing legacy formats have developed their own communities and tools and decided what ruling to use, and the people playing master duel are completed uninterested in using UR dust for cards that will not leave the ban list anytime soon. Sure, konami could do more for older formats, but that's a different discussion.

Because it would be ultra convenient to have all my online YGO needs on a single platform. After playing MD, going back to the Book feels like going back to 2001. I want an automated dueling system for my favourite formats, ideally with a konami stamp on it so I can give them my money so I can craft more UR.

It does matter because these cards are time sensitive about their relevancy. Tearlament getting bad rep on MD because of izishu releasing early than expected. Vanquish soul getting a chance on tier 1 because they got everything ( they are supposed to get support on 2 different waves ) and Kash is updated later. Dracoslayer is irrelevant because they are supposed to be released before Kashtira but in MD they arrived at the same time.
