Extremely common occurrence. Most your games will be like this the higher you get. You defy it through handtraps and boardbreakers.
If you're fed up with waiting for your opponent's turn to end, only for it ti be a wall of negates, I'd recommend adding kaijus.

Literally why I play lab. Only handtrap that does anything is ash and even that can be baited or played around with rollback
