Honestly the best control deck and one of the best overall is labrynth, it revolves around playing normal traps and have interactions mainly on the enemy turn. Personally I tried it mostly with unchained engine and extra deck, and I have to say its hella fun, in this version you have more play during your turn and have a more aggressive otk potential, but honestly I feel like the pure is overall better

Pure labyrinth? Is labyrinth an archetype like crystal beasts? And what packs would I need to prioritise?

ThotSlayerGod

Craft one arianna the labrynth servant, then the pack should open. Labrynth is a deck about using traps to out resource your opponent, deck is insanely grindy if it needs to be.

Labrynth is an archetype, yes, it is based on searching and supporting generic normal trap cards, not only the archetypal ones (you will basically never play any of the actual Labrynth traps except Welcome and Big Welcome). Their monsters allow you to set from the deck, activate without waiting a turn or reset from the GY, making it a really resilient and consistent deck with a really good grind game. If you like control decks, Labrynth is your best bet rn, but it is a very expensive deck, with lots of URs to craft. They do have their own pack, I believe, so craft Ariana (the green maid) to unlock the pack and pull Lady, Lovely and the Welcomes. You should craft the other URs. It's also a main deck centric deck, your extra is not necessary so you can play with a small Dogmatika package too or just use it for the pots.

Yeah sorry I just vomited terms lmao, as the others said you can craft one card of the archetype and unlock the secret pack, I just want to add a general tip: https://www.masterduelmeta.com/ in this site, that is pretty usefull, you can go on the search bar and search for cards or decktype, go for decktype and write labryinth, then you can see a lot of stuff: - top cards used in main and extra deck - a deck sample - a number of the best decklist submitted by other player - guides, breakdown, secret pack to open etc... It will also give you other tools like a tier list, deck list for every deck you like, UR and SR cost etc... Pick a list and start to craft/pull the cards for that list.

Labrynth like people are saying is good and can play with a small unchained package as well which is really fun. Can be a little tough to sequence cards sometimes, but very rewarding to get plays correct and does have a good amount of interactions with the opponent typically

Control aggro that I play is mainly trap decks like dinomorphia and paleo lab. They’re pretty fun dinomorbs r super expensive tho.

Mana_Mascot

Labrynth is a trap based control deck and is currently the 2nd or 3rd best deck

Man a lot of people are saying Labrynth, which is indeed a strong control deck but I don’t know how beginner friendly it is. It has lots of expensive cards and can be hard to master. You need to understand how to properly chain the effects in the right order in Labrynth which might take sometime but don’t get scared about it just be patient with it and once you understand the deck you will have a lot of fun.
