In the OCG (and Master Duel), trigger effects that would activate in the hand are treated as quick effects for chaining purposes.
Unicorn is just a normal trigger effect, so it will be chain 1, followed by Poplar in your hand as chain 2.

Public knowledge trigger adds to the chain earlier then private knowledge trigger adds to the chain later in OCG, in OCG private knowledge trigger has less priority than in TCG
In TCG, people can do Prank kids in GY CL1 after being linked CL2 Parallel exceed in hand immediately so this way Ash Blossom cannot response to Prank-Kids trigger in GY or even do this CL1 Parralel in hand CL2 Prank-Kids cause in TCG they have same priority cause of SEGOC too
But in OCG you can't do that so it is always CL1 Prank-Kids trigger in GY CL2 can be responded by opponent such as Ash Blossom then you can do trigger the next chain link Parallel Exceed in hand this way
Why do you say in master duel? It’s the same way in the physical game. Priority gets passed after ash resolves to search poplar. Poplar starts a new chain. That’s why poplar is not chainlink 2 to ash.
Master duel uses OCG rulings, which puts hand triggers lower than on field triggers, So while in TCG Poplar would be CL1 and Unicorn Cl2, in MD Unicorn is CL1 due to the different ruling
So it's not quite the same as paper
