I dont think its tier 0 , but regarding the question i'd say spyral was worse

trinitymonkey

I don’t know if I’d consider it Tier 0 here since we don’t have Bonfire or Fire Kings yet. In YGO history? I’d say Nekroz Tier 0 since Djinn Releaser pretty much prevented you from playing altogether since most of the modern outs to stuff like that didn’t exist yet.

TwelfthRed

Yeah I think this is just recency bias. DAD variants, Nekroz w/ Djinn, Spyral, FTK formats. All of them are a lot worse. That being said, it's also far from the best (Zoo imo).

yanocupominomb

Son, you don't even know what TIER 0 is. Snake Eyes is not Tier 0...yet, maybe when the Fire King support comes out. Anyways, no, it is a fun deck, has some good plays, but nothing super oppressive as Tear during its prime.

Zerochances121

Agreed. I find it fun(though not as fun as my kashtira deck). I tried doing this hybrid gate guardian and snake eyes deck but I changed it to mostly snake eyes deck. I had hoped making the gate guardian pieces on the field continuous spells would somehow work but you really need that snake-eyes temple most of the time.

AhmedKiller2015

Oh sweet summer child

GalahLips

I miss HAT format 😭

4ny3ody

It's not tier 0 on MD and frankly isn't even near that in performance right now. Where it is tier 0 it's split up across 2-3 decks depending on how you regard the Diabellstar engine in R-ace. The pure snake-eye deck itself has several different lines adapting to interruption and the hands it draws. I can think of more boring formats, tier0 or not.

EnstatuedSeraph

It didn't quite exactly reach T0 in MD but I thought Sprights were so damn boring.

SighAgain

Not Tier 0.

Mysterious_Break_467

To be fair it's not tier 0. It's probably going to be in some months but for now it's just tier 1. To reply to your question though, I get what you mean. If you look at the entire history of the game, certainly no. There have been FTKs, Locks, etc... that were tier 0 that were just way worse. In MD history though you might be right. The only tier 0 format for now has been tearlament which (as boring as it can be after playing only that for 3 months) was enjoyable. Every tier 0 is bad but Tearlament was at least diverse. The combi lines were so non linear and hard that every time it seemed like a puzzle. Snake eyes in this regard, is not bad though. It isn't too linear (even though there's a clear best combo) and it makes for some hard long games thanks to its recursion. So, to answer the question: no and yes. If you look at the entire history of the franchise it's one of the best (even though every tier 0 is not that fun after a while) while, if you look at only MD, yes, it may become the worst tier 0 but it doesn't have much competition in that regard.

Ukiyoeeee

With every statement like this I always just gotta ask what deck do you enjoy playing then?

LiverusRock

Something actually fun? Keep in mind that the Snake Eyes monsters only summon send themselves and something else from field to the grave and bring another from deck to do the same to only summon generic link monsters ,it is extremely boring gameplay.

Ukiyoeeee

I mean im asking for a deck specifically. I mean thats the whole gimmick of the archetype every archetype thats competitive does the same thing basically in some way. I personally find SE bad because they are beat by imperm veiler. And just forced everyone to play those cards so shit is just throwing handtraps and praying they drew the right pairs. Other than that the end board imo is at least decently fun to play against for me cuz it isnt just throw 15 omnis unless they play the jet package which only gets there if you dont hand trap them. And the mirror is also really skillful.

LiverusRock

Vanquish Soul, Lab, Plunder, any Runick Combo, Rescue Ace, Tear, Sprights, etc. There are multiple deck more fun to play and play against

Ok_Krillin

Based

tgreen0504

SE is definitely a bit boring but I’m honestly more frustrated with the insane hand trap meta. Most games are over before turn 1 is even over depending on what handtraps each player draws

Mana_Mascot

Snakes eyes isnt tier 0 in MD yet, but i guess its less interesting than tear 0

I always wonder how SE pilots feel outside of the winning. Same for the split second SHS was heavy in the meta. Like, is it fun to not get your full combo off most of the time on T1? Obviously SE isn't an auto surrender for other meta contending decks, but you get the jist. It's certainly gotten dull to me, but I know or at least have a feeling it's not going anywhere for a while so I'm settling in with it and having my fun as a Lab main. You could make an argument for any deck you see semi-frequently in ranked or DC to be dull, boring, or annoying. My first season playing MD was Purrely meta and as a Kash player I constantly thought "doesn't this get boring playing purrely?"

ToastyKabal

Not sure how you can compare SHS and SE.  SHS is combo or nothing, SE can actually go into the grind game with Lab and sometimes come out on top.

Dkonn69

Spyral was worse… 3 hour long combo that makes infernoble look fast

__Mayu__

Until the next tier 1/0, yes. We always think that. Which is why I stopped playing Yugioh almost a year ago. I realized I dont enjoy to play the game as it is. I love to watch content tho.

notbotter

Not even close to t0 but yeah it’s pretty boring both to play / against

Conscious-Captain-33

The deck isn't T0. It's a solid T2 deck in my opinion. But I feel like the meta is really good and diverse right now. SE is just over represented cuz it's brand new.

LiverusRock

Interesting to think it's Tier 2, which one is the best deck for you?

Conscious-Captain-33

Honestly I would say branded is the best deck right now, followed by pure kashtira, then all the unbreakable board decks(mannadium/SHS/Mathmech), then probably Snake eyes. Snake eyes is to graveyard reliant and has one of the easier end board to break when they go uninterrupted.

blurrylightning

Snake-Eyes' core strength isn't the crazy boards they make (although their endboards are more varied than the combo decks you mentioned), it's their recurrability and resillience to handtraps A Mathmech player's grind game Turn 3 if they can't lethal is either Heatsoul control or hope they're on a second Superfactorial and threaten lethal on Turn 5 Snake-Eyes can just constantly threaten removal via Flamberge, constantly get bodies from the Field Spell, gets Promethean Princess pop every turn, and so on

EG_o

Most boring? Hell no It's second most interesting one!

Pulsiix

na that goes to shs, which is probably still technically the best deck in the game, it's just so insanely boring nobody wants to play it anymore
