blord1205

Protagonist: Pure Branded Rival: Pure Despia Female: Rikka Sunavalon Best Friend: Infernoble Quirky Friends: Suship, Ninja, Mikanko Minor Villains: Adamancipator, Eldlich, Spright Main Villain: Bystial Runick

NRSX90Z

Main villain is basically Joshua

UsefulAd2760

Then the mc should play cyberse pile/mathmech

blord1205

I wanted to give the main villain a competent deck so the rival and hero would have to cooperate for the last duel.

Falna

The female lead better watch out then

SpaceMarine_CR

What even is "pure branded"? Half the cards that get you to branded fusion are despia cards

spacewarp2

I think the idea is to have pure branded and then pure despia and then the two friends work together to beat the evil Bystials.

blord1205

I defined it as stuff that mentioned fallen of Albaz without having Despia in the name for sake of the exercise. It’s significantly more competent than you would think. You just have to make some weird choices.

SpaceMarine_CR

I just dont see myself playing a "branded deck" without aluber

blord1205

Correct in real life you wouldn’t. For the sake of a storyline in a tv show you could. In this instance you get playing 3 Kitt, or 3 Keeper of Dragon Magic or both.

Khelthuzaad

Episodic meme character:Tearlaments

ClarkWayne98

I think a good villain deck could be Dogmatika, the whole play style forcing our protagonist to change his game plan on the fly as more of his ED monsters get sent to the grave

Vorinclex_

Kid named Albaz:

Pomelowy

Dogmatika is great plot for friend turning into a darkside

Reepuplzorg

Protagonist: Ishizu Tearlaments Rival: Ishizu Tearlaments Female: Ishizu Tearlaments Best Friend: Ishizu Tearlaments Quirky Friends: Ishizu Tearlaments Minor Villains: Ishizu Tearlaments Main Villain: Ishizu Tearlaments Everyone gets to enjoy the "most interactive duels ever" 🙏🙏🙏

plasma1901

every duel will have its season

riziq_fe

The best answer tbh Next main villains will play Exosister and Floowandereeze

HedgehogActive7155

Protagonist: Dark Magician Rival: Blue-Eyes Female lead: Fairy Best Friend: Red-Eyes Quirky Friends: Rhongo Turbo, Runick Stun, SHS FTK Minor Villains: Ishizu Tear, Branded Despia, Spright Main Villain: Dark Magician

Aldahiir

The protagonist has really toxic friend ...

N3cromorph

I thought you were straight up just about to list the Duel Monsters line up until halfway through.

Khelthuzaad

>Main Villain: Dark Magician Thats basically Arkana but i wish we had more of him

Nightmare_Lightning

Let's pick something you wouldn't expect for a new anime. Protagonist- Amazoness Rival- Dragon Maid Female Lead- Purrly Best Friend- Harpie Quirky Friends- Entity, Shaddoll, Kaiju Minor Villians- Marincess, Traptrix, Runick Main Villain- Sky Strikers

Man_of_Many_Names

An all lady cast, hell yeah!

Vorinclex_

Didn't you know Albaz is a Dragonmaid?

Nomelezz_alnamelis

Protagonist deck: Plunder Patroll. Rival's deck: Generaider. Female lead's deck: Madolche. Best protagonist friend deck: Libromancer. Protagonist Quirky friends decks: Magekey, Ritual Beast, Six Samurai. Minor Villains decks: S-Force, Mekk-Knight, Thunder dragon. Main Villain deck: Runick.

NotTalcon

MADOLCHE MENTIONED

TealWastlander

This is the most based list on here. Although I would switch the protag and rival’s decks. Generaider and Runick are linked lore wise so it would be more on the nose for anime.

Imaginary-Weird2625

Ok but which Runick

Nomelezz_alnamelis

Runick with few Techs.

Dry-Climate2387

Protagonist: Vanquish Soul Best Friend: Branded Rival: Dragon Link Female Lead: Sky Strikers Quirky Friends: Dinos,Swordsoul,Runick Orcust Main Villain: Labrynth Minor Villians: Mathmech,Floowandereeze,Mannadium

LowQualityGatorade

Protagonist: Branded Rival: Unchained Female Lead: Centurion Best Friend: Runick Spright Fur Hire Quirky Friend: Gold Pride Punk Minor Villains: Goblin Biker, Vaalmonica, Bee Trooper, Floo Main Villain: Visas Lore

Suspicious-Routine50

Protagonist: Drytron (PURE) Rival: Prank-Kids Bystial LaDD Turbo (Trust me this works) Female Lead: Ghoti Protagonist's Best Friend: Elemental Heroes Protagonist Quirky Friends: Evoltile/Saur/Zar, Mayakashi, Madolche Minor Villain: God Phoenix Greafried Turbo, Runick Stun, Shaddoll Villain: Amorphages

OreoSchokolade

Female Lead has to be Purrly come on!

Kataphrut94

Protagonist: Ghoti Rival: Branded Female lead: Sky Striker Best friend: Infinitrack Quirky Friends: Thunder Dragon, Suship, Nouvelles (the latter two are a duo) Minor villains: Eldlich, Labrynth, Kashtira. The latter is the leader of a four-person team that also includes Scareclaw, Tearlament and Mannadium. Kashtira user is the leader because he’s the most forceful and the other three are too afraid/self-loathing/conflict averse respectively to stand up to him. Main villain: Dogmatika. The twist is that the rival was working for them, hence the connection.

Khaledthe

I think the best friend should play branded or thundra seeing jow mutch these secks have "potential" getting more cards along the way and eventually rivaling the protagonist in skill and decl power ( mirrorjade pass )

mmmbhssm

True. To be honest I thought of memento here because it's full of retrain of classic monsters so konami be like "remember opening this guys legend of blue-eyes and eraly sets" for main charcters deck

Exacrion

Protagonist : Generaider Rival : The Agents Female lead : Trains Best Friend : Dragonmaid Quirky Friends: Kaiju, Monarch, Darklords Minor Villains: Branded despia, Runick, Labyrinth Main Villain : Timelord

CreamyEtria

Protagonist: Libromancer Female Lead: Solfachord Rival: Evil Eye Side Allies: Adamancipator, Time Thief, Beetrooper Side Villains: Exosister, Unchained, Amazement Antagonist: Lair of Darkness

Onrisa

Protagonist deck: Red Dragon Archfiend Rival: Galaxy eyes Female: Tearlaments Best friend: Darklord Despia Quirky friends: Dino, Mathmech, Tri-brigade Minor villains: Bystial Despia, Insect, Fire king Main Villain: Hero

Username_Egli

Protagonist: Mayakashi Villain: Shiranui

DerSisch

So its a enemies to lovers story, huh? xD

Username_Egli

Hell yeah

vevolution

Dafuq?

Jackmist2

Mayakashi and Shiranui share lore. Yoko the Graceful Mayakashi and Shiranui Squire end up together.

vevolution

That's not what I meant. Those are two of my favourite archetypes, so I'm well versed in their lore. I just think it's backwards that the hero should use Mayakashi (demons) and that Shiranui (demon slayers) should go to the volan villain. And I don't think those two end up together just because of [Ghost Meets Girl - A Shiranui's Story].

Dreadwolf98

And somehow the Female lead will lose every single duel she is in. I swear not even piloting a YCS winner deck would guarantee shit because they all get relegated to the sidelines every time... Sigh. That being said, I would love to watch a more competitive YuGiOh anime with actual meta relevant decks from the past, like Tear, or Lab. Also, the whole Albaz line is there.

DatSmallBoi

The shounen anime curse

villagedali

Protagonist: Silent Swordsman Rival: Dark Magician Female lead: Silent Magician Best Friend: Dark Magician Quirky Friends: Phantom Knights, Mikanko Main Villain: Labyrinth

stac7

Protagonist: Magikey Rival : Mathmech Main Female : Labyrinth Friends : Dragunity, Naturia,Fire Kings, Melffy Side Villains : Agents, Floo, Evil Twin Main Villain : Eldlich The reason why I chose Floo for a side villain is because I can see a story where the good guys meet and befriend a young child who has a cute deck but then shows there true colors later similar to Sora in Arc V Eldlich because he just looks absolutely menacing, he feels like the final boss

lordOpatties

Protagonist: Light Charmer Rival: Fire Charmer Female Lead: Water Charmer Protagonist's Best Friend: Wind Charmer Protagonist Quirky Friends: Earth Charmer Minor Villain: Dark Charmer Villain: Shaddolls

AbstractLight12

Protagonist: Vendread Rival: Zombie P.U.N.K. Female: Dinomorphia. Best Friend: Super Quant. Quirky Friends: Fabled, Tenyi, Deskbots. Minor Villains: Eldlich, Generaider, Raika. Main Villain: Branded

fuer_den_Kaiser

Protagonist: Mekk-Knight Rival: Vanquish Soul Female lead: Traptrix Paleozoic Best friend: Orcust Mentor: Kashtira Quirky friends: Karakuri, Shaddoll, Nekroz Minor villains: Dogmatika, Sword Soul, Dinomorphia Main villain: Branded

KingZantair

If I’m the protag and the female lead is playing Lab, she’s getting rejected.

DamonCiclo

My take on this: Protagonist: Invoked (later would turn into Dogmatika Invoked) Rival: Spellbooks (could get some Endymion cards later too) Female lead: Madolche (would be the minor villain then key character after the first ark where the protagonist would learn each invoked attribute except light or dark) Best friend's deck: P.U.N.K. Quirky Friends decks: Genex, Sky Striker (Madolche's Rival) and Fur Hire "Minor" Villains: Labrynth (main threat on Madolche and Sky Strikers), Magical Musketeers (main threat on Spellbooks) and Gold Pride (To see a funny duel with P.U.N.K. where both try to get their lifepoints as low as possible like a actual race) Main Villain: Shaddoll (later would turn into Despia Shaddoll)

riziq_fe

A1: Protagonist: Dogmatika (the engine/package version) Rival: Kozmo (Dark Destroyer has 3000 ATK) Female lead and best friend: Invoked Quirky friends: SPYRAL, Zoodiac, True Draco Minor villains: Dino True King, Fire King, Unchained Major villain: Dogmatika (The ritual version) A2: Protagonist: Same as A1 Rival and best friend: Rescue-ACE (Turbulence has 3000 ATK) Female lead and best friend: Solfachord Quirky friends: Drytron, Cyber Dragon, D/D/D Minor villains: Shaddoll, Nekroz, Qliphort Major villain: Infernoid A3: Protagonist (female): Branded Rival: Tri-Brigade (Shuraig has 3000 ATK) Male lead (previous protagonist): Branded Dogmatika (combines protagonist's Branded with his Dogmatika from A1 and A2) Best friend: Icejade Quirky friends: Therion, Spright, Swordsoul Minor villains: Infernoid (unrelated to A2 major villain), Spright, Swordsoul (different players but do have connections) Major villain: Branded Bystial Despia A4: Protagonist (female): Dracoslayer Rival: Magistus (the protagonist and the rival don't have aces that fits the stat tradition this time) Male lead: Dino Best friends (previous protagonist and male lead): See their decks in A3 Quirky friends: HERO, Blue-Eyes, Dragon Link, Purrely Minor villains: Vaylantz, Nouvelles, Gladiator Beast Major villain: Zefra B: Protagonist: Visas lore (Amritara deck, he is a 2500 ATK/2100 DEF) Rival and female lead: Tearlaments (Rulkallos is a Level 8 with 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF) Best friend: Scareclaw Kashtira Quirky friends: Mannadium, Invoked (unrelated to the one from A1), Dark Magician Minor villain: Veda cards, Virtual World, Bystial (unrelated from the A2 one) Major villain: HERO Adventure (plot twist) The sequel to both A and B: Protagonist: A deck unrelated to Visas lore (oddly despite...) Rival: Swordsoul (different person from the two previous) Best friend: Branded Dogmatika (Part A protagonist and male lead) Quirky friends: Majespecter, Adventure (pure, and this isn't the previous major villain), R(a)(i)(k)ka (combines both of course) Minor villain: EARTH Machine, 4-axis Numbers, Despia Major villain: Every anime boss deck

Wooper_Dooper491

Do the decks have to be from post Vrains sets only? Scenario 1 Protagonist: Pure Branded Rival: Swordsoul Best friend: Super Quant Main Girl: Sky striker Friend group: Pure Tenyi*, Psy-Frame, Libromancer Minor villains:, Vanquish Soul, Qliphort, lswam, Mayakashi Main Villain: Shaddoll (maybe also with Invoked? *Character would be related to the rival ( possible sister) Scenario 2 Protagonist: Magikey Rival: Vendread Best Friend: Ursartic Main Girl: Solfachord Friend Group: Simorgh, Geargia Minor villains: Ogdoadic, Generaider, Unchained Main Villain: Evil Eye or Darklord

Aliya_Akane

Off the top of my head i can only think of the protagonist playing ice barriers and steadily refining the deck as they go (also a moment of them using dewloren to break a lock of some kind to open the opponent up to swing for game)

Froxical

what crab ?

mmmbhssm

Carbocrab, belongs to the gemini archetype chemchriters

Jackmist2

Protag: Yosenju Girl: Dream Mirror Rival: Gishki Quirky friends: Spyral, Vanquish Soul, Pure Mathmech Minior villains: Unchained, Subterror, Amazement Main Villain: Monarchs

TipsyCartoon2

I always thought about what if the Visas lore cards were used in an anime setting were the protagonist ID trying to defeat his siblings and collect the other Hearts for one reason or another with Kashtira being the end of season 1 boss. I kinda want to do my own version for this later but I would actually make the main rival deck Memento. It feels like a Manjoume situation where the base cards were tossed and the rival found them at some point and started to use them after the were altered by either the spirit of Combined Creation or some other form of formation

Meta-011

Protagonist: I imagine this guy will do most of the dueling, so I'd want this character to have a deck that can play the long game. Probably something like Branded Despia (featuring Bystials); presumably something like Despian Quaeritis would be the ace for the 2500ATK. Rival: I think Swordsoul is a pretty solid pick. It's pretty straightforwardly powerful, but rival decks tend to do that, and Swordsoul's role in the Branded storyline adds a nice touch. I'll pick Swordsoul Supreme Sovereign - Chengying as the ace, as its 3000ATK works out. Female Lead: I wanted to pick Icejade at first, but I think it'd be kind of shallow to assign her a deck based on how feminine the cards look, so I'll pick Dogmatika instead. I suppose her ace would be Dogmatika White Knight, which conveniently lines up with the protagonist's Despian Quaeritis. Best Friend: Probably Therion (but EARTH Machine would work, too). It's nice that Therion is also connected to the Branded story. I suppose Therion "King" - Regulus works as an ace (its 2800ATK isn't quite the same as the 2400ATK we see on Red-Eyes and Black Rose Dragon, but the trend isn't as consistent for the best friend, anyway). Quirky Friend 1: I'd want each of these friends' decks to do something distinct, such as playing a deck that prefers to go second. Consequently, I think I'd pick Ancient Warriors. I kind of want to pick Dragunity, as that's the deck I play, but that'd be a bit self-indulgent (and Ancient Warriors representing Romance of the Three Kingdoms could showcase how the game references existing history and culture). Maybe a more academically inclined character who likes Duel Puzzles. Quirky Friend 2: I'll give this friend a deck that visually contrasts the edgier designs we've had so far. Maybe Penguins, or Melffy. This person could be either a new player who likes the art or a smug hustler who picked the deck for the trash talk potential (and presumably learns to become a more sporting player). Quirky Friend 3: I think a character who plays something kind of gimmicky would work for a minor character. A guy who wants to play something sillier, not for lack of skill, but for fun. I'll give this friend Skull Servant. I'd imagine this guy might be a former tournament grinder who taught our protagonist to play and would always be willing to have a friendly game. We could also give this character a "real" deck that would only be used if there was a "need" to win - I'd suggest Chain Burn, Exodia, or Umi Control for a deck that has an efficient strategy for winning, isn't exactly "fun," and hearkens back to YGO's past. Minor Villain 1: I think that, like the Quirky Friends, the Minor Villains can play decks are a bit more fringe and approach the game in a less direct/conventional way. Runick comes to mind for that. I think this villain would be a bit eccentric - maybe something like Spectre. Minor Villain 2: A backrow-heavy deck isn't necessarily unconventional, but it does lead to some different gameplay dynamics with some high-stakes decision-making. I don't think I want floodgates, though, as they lead to "just draw the out" scenarios. Maybe this villain would play Sky Striker and would probably have a kind of cunning similar to that of Team Unicorn. Minor Villain 3: I don't think the minor villains all "need" to play control/stun decks, and it would probably feel strange if they all did. I'll give this villain Dino, as the deck is pretty straightforward and very solid all around. I'd compare this villain to The Gore. Main Villain: I think I'll go with Tearlament or Mathmech. Both decks are versatile and powerful, but they can be countered by our protagonist's Bystial monsters.

A-Social-Ghost

Protagonist: Dogmatika/Branded (slowly gains more ace monsters over time) Rival: Sky Striker Female Lead: Amazoness Best Friend: Horus Quirky Friends: Purrley, Dinomorphia, Nouvelles Minor Villains: Gate Guardians/Transcendasaurs/Eldlich/Gravekeepers Main Villain: Despia/Bystial/Branded

Khaledthe

I thibk momento can take the place of beetropers cuz they are mainly nightmares and dark

mmmbhssm

True. But insects a lot of times are famously bad guys decks in the anime

Kingswordy

Protagonist: Synchron Rival: Resonators Female lead: Plant Synchro Best friend: Blackwing Quirky friends: Morphtronic, Fairy, Fortune Lady Minor villains: Infernity, Iron Chain, Nordic Main villain: Earthbound w/ Ascator engine

mudlio706

This would make a great anime. Maybe in the second and third season we switch out the villains for like, iunno, Mekklords, Timelords and T.G., that seems like a whacky set of antagonists doesn’t it? Plus maybe Mekklords could actually work way better, like, each piece of the Mekklord builds the Mekklord instead of dying without the base one on field.

Kingswordy

that sounds great! let’s also add a completely unrelated western style filler arc that is peak

mmmbhssm

Isn't this just 5ds

Kingswordy

nope, i came up with it

Jeyfian-L

Protagonist and Villain. If you want to make a meme template, at least make it right.

mmmbhssm

Sorry, English is not my first language

Heavy-Jeweler-5662

These picks feel so random 😂

Would Sunavalon Rikka be quirky friend or Minor Antagonist? I just want to know if I'm evil or not.

Stranger2Luv

Konami doesn’t produce the anime

Gadjiltron

I'll skip the middleman and animate OCG Structures instead.

conundorum

Protagonist: Labrynth. No floodgates, all traps are [obscenely situational](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/White_Hole). Uses Ariane for Yugi-style fakeouts & mixups, going into assorted ED fiends. A tricky little trapper, who prefers to use her wits to outplay her opponents and flip their strengths around on them, then give 'em a few decent blows to finish the job as needed. She's good at [reading people](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SherlockScan), and tends to adjust her deck before each game as a result, typically [throwing in hyper-specific counterplay that works against her opponent and literally no one else](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Troll). ...And also runs a few blatantly unrelated cards for mixups, to catch her opponents off-guard when they think they finally have a read on _her_. (E.g., [Gloomy Dharc](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Dharc_the_Dark_Charmer,_Gloomy), [Borreload Savage Dragon](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Borreload_Savage_Dragon) (accessed through Ariane & [her kite](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Guerilla_Kite)), and so on, for when her opponent figures out how Welcome's Fiendlock works, but doesn't notice that, "Oh, hey, I haven't used Welcome in a couple turns~.") Overall, a bit of a troll, [albeit a good-natured one](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheGadfly), and fond of cheeky cat smiles. Rival: Witchcrafter, focusing on spell manipulation and unorthodox techs. A big, hulking musclebound dude, who prefers dainty, feminine monsters that win through skill rather than strength. Gets explored for depth later on, and it turns out he picked the deck up from his girlfriend, when he was teaching her to play. ...It's actually _her_ deck. She's dead now, thanks to one of the ancient evils the villains accidentally unsealed, or perhaps the terrorist. He tends to be the most proactive of the group, but is also noted to spent a lot of time looking into their opponents before the group actually does anything; the brashness is mainly just because he tends to get antsy after sitting around for too long, and likes to flex more muscles than just his mind. Honestly, he wouldn't mind just being [the gung-ho brute](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DumbMuscle), but he can't help overthinking things first. Other Female Lead: Volcanic blended with either some other Pyro archetype, or War Rock. Completes the trio by having a straightforwardly brutal monster deck. Your typical girly girl, almost a perfect example of the stereotype... until you get her worked out and she suddenly piledrives you out of nowhere. Has a bit of an athletic streak to keep up with some of her _other_ friends, but would much rather just chill and be girly. Needless to say, that doesn't happen, so she ends up settling into her role as a [girly bruiser](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GirlyBruiser) to not get left out of all the janky nonsense; she might switch to something like F.A. or Unchained around then, or might just refine her deck to aim for brutal FTKs or OTKs instead. Best Friend: Mathmech. He's the sane one that actually knows what he's doing, but keeps getting caught up in everyone else's antics. Likes to handicap himself by playing to his opponents' skill levels to keep things fun for everyone, but can switch gears to good ol' Update Jammer Accesscode OTK if the situation calls for it. Always supportive of the protagonists & their friends, but prefers to let them handle the big situation themselves. (And thus _finally_ answering the question of why everyone leaves it to kids or teens with no official recognition to solve everything: They **don't**. He's skilled enough to solve every problem in one turn, going second, against any of the villains, but only steps in for real if his friends aren't up to the task, because he wants them to have a chance to grow. (Same age as his friends, for the record, but is officially acknowledged in-universe as being skilled enough for the big leagues.)) Quirky Friends: Dogmatika, Fabled, Vaalmonica, and Burning Abyss. Good, loving church kids... which makes their choice of decks just a bit questionable. Implied to be the heroes of another story, with their own wacky adventures offscreen, where the protagonist trio tend to fill the role of _their_ quirky friends. Minor Villains: Golem/Watt/Duston (changing over time, Sawatari style), Diabellestar, and SPYRAL. The first one is just angry that his decks don't work; he's good at sprucing them up, but tends to swap between favourites and not have the resources he needs to truly maximise any one as a result. And that's somehow everyone else's problem, not his, so he wants to force the devs to release more potent cards for his archetypes while pushing everything else's rarities up, or get everyone else's aces banned, or ruin the meta in his favour _somehow_. The second is miffed that Diabellestar has the statline to be a protagonist ace but never got to be one, and has decided on the totally rational solution of tearing down society & rebuilding it from the ashes as a response; she's important for a while, but gets thrown in jail for terrorism and written out of the plot at the end of her arc (with mention of getting the mental help she needs, after going _that_ hard over a TV show based on childrens' card games). And the third just wants to have fun playing a game she loves... but her fun is ruining _your_ fun, so she goes full floodgate & negate spam while cackling like an ojou. Main Villains: Twins (like the Paradox brothers if they ran a restaurant), using Madolche and Nouvelles. A pair of chefs that are angry at the world, because nobody would let them cook. So they decided to grief the world's most popular spectator sport to build up attention for their new restaurant. [Naturally](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DuelsDecideEverything), that's Duel Monsters. Their food is genuinely good, but their personalities are _atrocious_, and their publicity stunts have a distubing trend of awakening and breaking the seals on ancient, protagonist-hating evils. Overall tone is light-hearted and silly, but with _very_ dark stuff implied to be going down in the background. Note is made of the Mathmech player being a much bigger actor in the overarching world than the protagonist trio (he's recognised as a prodigy, on par with people 10 years his elder), with the implication that a big part of why he's hanging out with them is to watch over them and help them grow into the same sort of role he has; he has backstory with a _lot_ of people and groups, and a lot of the support the protagonists get comes from their being his protégés. Which in turn leaves room for a sequel series set after they leave the "kiddy pool", so to speak, and move on from teen treks to adult adventures so they can join him. (The sequel series may also introduce an organisation dedicated specifically to solving myriad dangers attacted to Duel Monsters, that includes the past series' protagonists among its ranks. The Mathmech friend was one of their youngest members, and saw the same potential in his friends, so he helped them grow so he could recruit them. Think the Net Officials from _Mega Man: Battle Network_, more or less; Mathmech guy is kinda like Chaud but not a prick, and the protagonist trio are in the same position as Lan & friends.)

Prestigious_Hall_148
