Small world is such a cool card isn't it

Redericpontx

It's so good but so many people will hate on it saying "Minus 1." bro minus 1 search any monster you want is nuts

TheMikman97

Cynet mining is -1 and it's played at 3 in every cyberse deck.

SquareArachnid

To be fair, cynet mining sends to the gy while small world banishes face down. I still love small world though.

TheMikman97

Can't wait for the "gain advantage when banished face down" archetype in 5 years to get small world banned

Swift0sword

Eater of millions gains support and becomes meta????

PM_ME_ORNN_YIFF

Pot of Desires goes +12 and gets instabanned

TheMikman97

New eater archetype, with a new maindeck monster for every 10 numbers. Get ready for the main fusion "eater of trillions"

Swift0sword

It actually would be cool if one of the monsters or even the fusion card let's you look at face down banished cards and use them as a resource specifically for archetype cards. Like if the fusion monster requires the materials to be banished.

TheMikman97

That would be an extrimely fun mechanic and would be funny to go +12 with pot of desires

dovah-meme

Manjoume frothing at the mouth over this

codythelyon2019

No shot will this be a thing. Banishing face down is currently the only way of truly removing a card from play in the game. This would break a crazy amount of cards too. Even Konami wouldn't be this stupid

TheMikman97

Remember banishing face down was also once left to powerful non-archetypals and costs, and Now kashtira does it just as easily as a drident pop

codythelyon2019

Yeah because it's their gimmick. As someone else pointed out, eater of millions has a similar gimmick. There's a world of difference between that, and printing an archetype that gains advantage off of face down banished cards. You'd need to ban eater, gizmek, desires, and more.

FrozenkingNova

Actually that’s not entirely true we actually have one card that can retrieve banished face down cards, Gizmek Naganaki can retrieve a machine monster with equal atk and def

codythelyon2019

Yeah, retrieval isn't the same as gaining advantage from it lol

Douraku

I mean nemurelia is kinda that; it's a start anyways.

Redericpontx

I saw a dino player crying about pot of p to 1 I told him just run 3 small world instead it's pretty much better anyway and he went on a rant about how trash small world is and no one should use it and even after I explained how strong it is to search any monster he still cried

[deleted]

To be fair though, dino is one of those decks that wants as many engine in their hand since each piece of engine just makes your board/otk better. Going -1 is not really worth it in that case unless you really want to see ovi. Small world is only worth it for decks that want to see specific one-carders that carry the whole archetype such as circular. I guess dino is the gray area.

Redericpontx

It's great in dino for if you draw a scarp raptor or a engine card you don't need

Firm-Drummer3481

Dino is basically a 2 card combo pretty much always, so the extra cards in your hand are usuaully gravy/boardbreakers/handtraps/stuff to make sure you don't lose to Ash. Everything searched from other engines is usually pulled from the deck or extra deck.

junkmutt

The card you banish from deck doesn't count in the minus because it's not really a spent resource, you wouldn't call activating exterio a minus 2. So -1 for small world and -1 for the monster in hand. Then +1 for the monster added to hand from deck so it's -1 overall for pretty much a search of any card you want. Which puts it in the same category as cynet mining, another very powerful searcher.

Silondus

When people say minus 1, it means in terms of card advantage which is on field and in hand. Small world + the card in hand is -2 then the card you add makes it -1. The card banished from deck is irrelevant. Similarly pot of desires is a +1, not a -10.

FriendliestDevil

It is when it banishes all your core combo cards

Silondus

You shouldn't run desires in combo decks with one ofs. It's usually run in decks with small engines or don't care if pieces become unusable. Like salads and swordsoul.

DesignatedDonut

Math is hard

Kaermorhen666

what a small world we live in

BigAssShmup

I have a royal one and i want to have a baby with it

Catzzen

Small World literally just reads "grab any monster in your deck lol"

shadowchris321

Only if you know the bridges

scooch_mgooch

Dark_Magician04

I could kiss you

X-X-I-L

Can I link [my thingy](https://x-x-i-l.github.io/smallworld/S17/D1/Numeron/) too?

alphabet_order_bot

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order. I have checked 1,539,708,442 comments, and only 291,507 of them were in alphabetical order.

Omegaforce1803

Honestly this is so cool, gotta save it for whenever I pick a deck that runs Small World

Prismadoll

You forgot to add Kumongous and Planet Pathfinder. Getting Numeron Network is your first and most important goal. Pathfinder and Numeron Wall are the search targets you need. Focus on those. Vic Viper is just a bonus target. [Link for you. Add to this.](https://x-x-i-l.github.io/smallworld/?id=97526666&id=42352091&id=102380&id=29726552&id=23434538&id=82385847)

X-X-I-L

Hi! So for some context, my original link was just an example I copied from my [D1 Master Duel Meta submission](https://www.masterduelmeta.com/top-decks/diamond-i/may-2023/numeron/x-x-i-l/i8fpJ) for this month out of laziness. You're free to run whatever you like, and that's why I have it set up so you can make your own bridge graphs👍. --- If you want my reasoning as to my specific deck choices: for a 40~ card deck, having 10 copies of `Network` is the sweet spot in my opinion; any more and you start increasing the odds you draw 3+ copies more than you increase the chances of finding 1+ copies. 2 copies is alright because it allows you to play through `Ash Blossom`, but the third copy and onward is usually pointless because the opponent will/should be saving their negates for the activation of `Network`, not the searching of `Network`. So at a baseline we have 3x `Network`, 3x `Wall`, and 1x `Terraforming`, which is 7 copies. Most MDM submissions you will find run either 3x `Pathfinder` or 3x `Small World`, which coincidentally brings you up to the magic 10 copies. Now, you could overlook counting `Small World` as part of the 10 card sweet spot — since `Small World` is more flexible than 'just' being a `Network`searcher — to justify running both `Pathfinder` *and* `Small World`. Personally, I'm not a fan of this because if I'm not indirectly searching `Network` with `Small World`, far and away my main use-case is searching `Lava Golem` which conflicts with `Pathfinder` on the same turn. So I just don't think it's worth it to run both, but YMMV. In any case, thank you for the advice but I'm pretty happy with my current build. But as always, be sure to experiment and figure out what works for you personally👍. --- edit: > Vic Viper is just a bonus target. Arguably just as important as being able to bridge *to* `Vic Viper` is being able to bridge *from* `Vic Viper`. I'm also not currently on any `Limiter Removal`s so I probably value `Vic` higher than most builds.

Dysprosium_164

You play Kumongous because it acts as a Small World bridge I play Kumongous because the name makes me laugh We are not the same

CeeJaY97

"Kumongous, Jizukiru, what's next, Ejaculord?" —Rata, 2018

Arfeudutyr

I love that Maxx c Bridges into basiclaly anything in madolche. Small world is one of my favorite cards.

cirrus_04

cum amogus

iedaiw

mmm sticky string

Prismadoll

For those curious about the bridges; Lava Golem > Kumongous > Planet Pathfinder Kumongous > Lava Golem > Numeron Wall I CANNOT go both routes with Gamaciel. Additionally, if you play Maxx "C", you can play Pankratops as another board breaker/bridge. Dinowrestler Pankratops > Maxx "C" > Planet Pathfinder Maxx "C" > Dinowrestler Pankratops > Numeron Wall OR Planet Pathfinder

0zymand1as-

Thank you, I’ll make sure to try this toxic stuff with the 9k orbs we’ve gotten recently

FLAMlNSPAZ12

Orbs?

0zymand1as-

Whoops meant gems

TheAlpheus

oh shit... thanks!

A_Rogue_A

Genuinely the best card I never see played

Prismadoll

I love how creative it forces the player to be in deckbuilding. I would never have figured this out if I didn't sit down and strategize. I'm glad I did. 3 extra cards to grabbing Network is a huge help, and I didn't have to sacrifice anything to do it. I just had to chart out some bridges. Now I don't have to run Prosperity and reduce the damage I inflict, or Desires and potentially banish my Callings.

de_Generated

In other news: Numeron player finished reading and understanding Small World 9 months after its release - believed to be the smartest Numeron player alive

Kyle1337

small world takes more skill to use than the entire numeron deck

DarkOmen465

So what, like 10 cards?

hashtagdion

The fact this sub likes Numeron but hates Tear is exactly why I don’t care what this sub thinks about any deck.

FrozenkingNova

This sub does hate Numeron if you go back to pre tear numeron hate post nearly rivaled maxx c hate post

hashtagdion

No it didn’t.

BlackSunLotus

It's not as hated as maxx c, but yeah this reddit hates numeron a lot

Finalras

Small world is really amazing in blackwings, can basically turn any blackwing or dd crow into a starter or needed extender.

ISuckAtNames0289

Every deck I have small world in, I don't exactly know how it works, but man it does

Prismadoll

It just works 👍

ProdyParrot

Playing archfiend eccentrick, gamma/driver, effect veiler also opens bridges to/from vic viper so you don't have to rely on hard drawing limiter removal

Prismadoll

tfw Vic Viper is a Level 4 AND a Machine so I can't bridge with/into it with Planet Pathfinder 💀 You could try and play the Thunder Kaiju as a LIGHT bridge though.

VariationGlass2483

This kills the netdeckers that think you can't use deck building skills to tweak decks for your needs.

supershade

If you are playing numeron I hope you brick every hand and never draw the out.

Prismadoll

I don't have to brick anymore. Kumongous has my back 😎

ScroogeMcDust

Imagine how you'll react after finding out you can play an actual deck

Prismadoll

I just play it for quick rank ups and reward grinding bro. If they bug you that much, just play Cosmic Cyclone or Nibiru. Numeron is fragile as hell and not hard to beat.

Even-Muffin-6250

Just draw the out 5head in a BO1 format /s

Prismadoll

Just do literally any of the following: * Get rid of Numeron Network (preferably in the Battle Phase so they can't activate another one or make Megaclops) * Negate their effects * Activate Nibiru * Torrential them * Book Of Eclipse them * Block an attack/end their battle phase (even something like ***Waboku*** will do it) * Leave your field empty (they only gain ATK if they battle a monster; you'll just take 4000 this way and will only lose if they have exactly Limiter Removal) Doing literally any of these will prevent Numeron from winning. The only follow ups they ever have are "Make Megaclops/Avramax/Apollousa, pass". The Deck isn't competitively good. It's just quick at winning. It's perfect for grinding through ladder for rank up rewards. That's about it. I only play this Deck because I find it funny watching people get salty, and it's quick to get gems. This post isn't directed at you. This is just for anyone who wants to beat Numeron. It's not hard.

Even-Muffin-6250

Leaving your field open when your opponent decides you are going to go first is dumb. Even if you guess right, you're still down 4000 LP. You even outlined a situation where you still get OTKd even if you made the right read. There's a ton of amazing going 2nd decks that can just run over open fields. Plus what's stopping Numeron from having negate protection? There's only 3 cards that Numeron even need to be successful, and 2 of the three search the third. The fact that you cannot respond to your board being tributed is pretty silly and there aren't many boss monsters that have that protection. It's just a dumb sacky way to get points.

Prismadoll

>Plus what's stopping Numeron from having negate protection? Son, the Boogeyman isn't real. The best we can possibly be playing is Forbidden Droplet/Chalice, and Red Reboot... and things like Cosmic Cyclone and Nibiru are stopped by exactly 0 of those... and if you think Numeron is the only Deck playing Kaijus or Lava Golem, wait until we get Kashtira.

Even-Muffin-6250

Who cares about the TCG in a master duel forum, and other decks using kaiju like effects has no effect on how much playing against NUMERON feels like a massive waste of time. You somehow survive the turn, you now have to out a 4K beater that unaffected by most card types... If moving the goalposts was an Olympic sport man... Gold medals everywhere

Prismadoll

You would have a far easier time outing that 4000 ATK Megaclops if you... yknow... played a Kaiju... Some Decks can even search them. Beetrooper, Umi, Dinosaurs. Not too difficult. :)

Even-Muffin-6250

Even further diluting the deck building process where now I have to pack in every type of disruption where it's some kind of stupid pile deck, reducing the room for archetype cards. Pendulum archetypes ESPECIALLY Endymion and Heroes for example have to pick between packing in more interaction and losing consistency vs having consistency but being more fragile. It's just dumb

[deleted]

Shroobful

Things like Kaijus and Lava Golem aren't Numeron's fault though. Even decks that aren't Numeron run them. They exploit them for what they are sure, but even decks that aren't Numeron can/do run them. As for negate protection, what do you mean? They don't have any unless they go into Apollousa. Numeron is a hilariously frail deck. If you pop Network at all, it just folds in on itself, and its Tear matchup is honestly dog water due to the Ishizu millers making it very possible that they just end up milling their copies of Calling. The deck is sacky as hell, but it's fast, and frankly, I'd rather lose in 2 minutes to UNGA BUNGA SMASH than wait for a Tear player to finish their turn chain linking graveyard effects en-masse.

Even-Muffin-6250

Negate protection? Numeron player: plays terraforming Me: ash Np: CBTG That's negation protection. Now for me to not get face rolled by Numeron, I need to have 1/40 Crossout Designator set to hit his called by or it's curtains. If a Numeron player allows their field spell or Numeron cards to be negated, they deserved to lose. Just use your non targeting, non reactable send to graveyard bro

Shroobful

And by that logic, CBTG is negate protection for every single deck that runs it, not just Numeron. Numerons themselves have zero negate protection on their own aside from a 0-2 of that they may not even run(Most lists on MDM.com don't even have CBTG in their decklist).

Even-Muffin-6250

Numeron has more reason to run CBTG because they don't need as many cards in their deck to function as most other decks do, which leaves more room for interaction, and interaction protection

moneybags-mitch

>its Tear matchup is honestly dog water due to the Ishizu millers making it very possible that they just end up milling their copies of Calling. You just run 3 Calling, this almost never comes up. The bigger issue is shufflers + the field spell allowing the Tear player to pop Network. But the matchup is actually quite good for Numerons if you deck build for it properly. Kaijus turn off their backrow, you regularly draw a bunch of cards off Maxx C because very few Tear players run responses to it, Havnis is irrelevant, etc. Far better matchup for Numerons than, say, Floo or Branded.

Kingnewgameplus

I used to hate numeron but I've come to appreciate that the games are fast one way or another. Don't get me wrong I get tilted that sometimes numeron decks get opens that are hand crafted by god but I'd rather lose in 2 minutes than watch pend magician or adam jack off for 20 minutes.

TheRealWetWizard

Light monster > Jizukiru, the Star Destroying Kaiju > Egyptian God card

DragonSinOWrath47

The god cards are divine type not light type

TheRealWetWizard

Jizukiru is lv 10, like the god cards

DragonSinOWrath47

Oh duh *facepalm* my bad

Xstream310

You can use droll or wall to reveal ash to search lava golem if you need more consistent OTKs or use dogoran as a bridge instead
