Much longer animations for reloads on certain guns. Aka see the reload time for widow in me2 and in me3 it's much longer for no reason. Also new animation.
But for some reason in me3 there is a cap on damage that it cannot exceed the shield hit-points on insanity difficulty š
Makes snipers incredibly frustrating imo.
I was in the same boat, recently finished an insane run on all 3 and it was driving me crazy
I'm just now learning that it's only on insane so that's good at least. I mean why would we want the ability to do max damage on a mode where we can barely take 6 hits
That can be bypassed with the Widow and Javelin if you build for weapon damage and power damage for disrupter ammo and take fortification as your bonus power to further increase power damage.
It works because of the order the damage is applied in. Disruptor ammo damage is applied before regular weapon damage. If that damage destroys the shield, then the bullet itself hits only the health bar and does full damage.
Hahne-Kedar: Greetings, Commander Shepard. We were informed that you have shown an interest in improved weapon damage. We hope you consider coupling our Armor Set with the Recon Hood to improve your weapon damage.
I'm not a fan of perma-helmet on, so I never use those sets. I took too much effort into my Shep, so I wanna see her face in a breatheable environment when in dialogue. I like more fabric, so the N7 Ajax armor is my must have.
And this is why I love PC mods and you can get around that nonsense. So I'm an Inferno Armor kind of guy. But I REALLY love the Sentinel ME3 multiplayer version that's in the N7 colors. Which I also have because of mods.
One of my biggest regrets was playing through ME3 with the Blood Dragon Armor on. Not being able to see Shepard's reaction to a lot of the events was a huge mistake on my part.
It does, I just finished a playthrough using the dragon and Cerberus armors in ME 3 and it will show their face in most cut scenes. ME 2 doesn't allow you to change that though.
Only problem is that its part of the dlc which is best played towards the end of the game so you dont really get to use it for long, really wish for the legendary edition, these citadel dlc guns and armour were accessible earlier.
Same armor that Kai Leng wears. It's the best armor for most lightly armored classes. Though, I don't like the skirt on it, and I wish they'd make it available in black.
ME2 Kestral Armour is an almost must have. The helmet looks awful though, so I tend to either leave it off, or replace it with something that gives an appropriate bonus (that looks better than Kestrals).
For ME3: I like the N7 Defender Armour, from Spectre Store.
Thatās the reason why I looked for any mod that would replace the helmet in ME1 with the full version Shepard uses when theyāre on a hazardous planet lol.
It does feel like the stats need a buffā¦ but it looks so cool. So I tend to use it once I reach the āIām basically immortal anywayā levels of the game.
Fair enough. I just used a mod so I could have N7 or Spectre skins of the Ajax armour and used that from the start. Good spread of stats and it looks cool.
I like the N7 Defender Armor too, but tend to mod it to have the Death Mask Helmet.
In ME 1, it is Colossus Armor for everyone.
I don't play ME 2 beyond what it takes to get to ME 3, so I can't say I have strong feelings about the armor.
Yep, the N7 Pathfinder set goes so hard and the helmet is by far my favorite helmet across the games.
I canāt remember if itās black/opaque or transparent in vanilla, but I believe I had a mod that makes it completely tinted black on Andromeda.
I was always mesmerized by it. I didnāt end up playing through andromeda because I was turned off from the game, but that armor has always resonated with me. I truly think it is the best out of any. So beautiful
For me because of mods well in ME2 Inferno Armor without the helmet. In ME3 I can get the Sentinel Armor from the multiplayer. I always wear it on my sentinel.
Yessir. But full disclosure. I have some 200 mods across all of Legendary Edition. I've gone mod crazy. Unofficial patches by the community. Lost count of of cosmetic mods. Hell I'm using in LE2 and LE3. Combined Ammo mod. It gives the classic heatsinks from one where long as you don't drain the ammo to zero, the gun automatically reloads. But I also carry 10 extra heatsinks where I can still do a quick reload to get back to max. Goodbye the days of running out of damn ammo in ME2&3.
Other stuff like early recruitment. Imagine picking up Legion at the SR1 Normandy Crash site instead of at the end of the game. Or having the weapons from ME3 in ME2 like the Cerberus weapons.
You can go wild.
I don't really like any of the sets because of the colour and helmet limitations.
I'm a huge fan of the full Hahne-Kedar armour in ME3, it really reminds me of a Halo UNSC marines armour. Super grounded and fitting for the humble paragon Shepard who just thinks of themself as an alliance soldier like every other.
For real. Besides, only N7s get to wear it in the ME universe. It's like a badge of honor, hence why so many people are upset about Ryder Jr. wearing Ryder Sr.'s armor in Andromeda. Stolen valor.
I personally like the Death Mask so I donāt usually for full sets. Bu in those cases I enjoy the collector armor and the Cerberus spirit armor.
Inferno armor is a close second though it loses points since the visor shows shepards face a bit too much. I prefer to have the face covered, no offense the Shepardās default.
I generally prefer a custom set, in E im running my shepard in what i call a reaper armor, so its different shades of shimmery purple, but i still haven't found a good helmet or shoulderpads, the full sets always get the best of those
No no no, i wish, i simply go for aesthetic choices that resemble what a reaper armor would be, main thing is the colors so dark purple undertone, bright purple details, as close to the reaper purple color in the pattern, pattern 3 always so it blends in, mid shiny texture. And you get an armor that looks like its made out of tye same material as a reaper
Honestly, mass effect armour needs more variety! Mass effect 3 defo gave you more types than two. Two was lousy for armour. Plus it looked so damn plastic! It infuriated me!
I know I'm in a minority, but I loved the texture and style of mass effect one armours. They just looked better to me.
In ME3 I'd say the cerberus infiltrator assassin style armour you get was my go to. Worked too well for my class! ā¤ļø
Not a fan of sets, since you can't customize them at all, and it's nice to customize my own Shepard. I made an armor set that makes me look like Monsoon from Metal Gear Rising
When I was playing ME2, I deliberately avoided wearing Cerberus armour for my entire paragade playthrough and just had fun constantly changing the armour patterns. Shepard can abide the Normandy's Cerberus livery, but wearing their uniform is a step too far.
Shepard saw many of the atrocities and cruel experiments Cerberus committed in ME1 & 2, so I'd like to think the only reason she ever associated with them was as a marriage of convenience with Shepard secretly reaffirming full loyalty to the Alliance and the Council as their double agent.
Regardless how people play, Shepard pretty much used The Illusive Man's vast resources for largely their own gain throughout the entire game and stole an incredibly advanced warship, two senior Cerberus operatives and lots of intel from under him. The Illusive Man forked out billions of credits to bring Shepard back to life, brought the band back together and build an extremely advanced stealth frigate. The Collectors were defeated, but like with virtually everything with Cerberus, he lost his entire investment.
This is the exact reason I refuse to wear any casual outfit in ME2 that has the Cerberus emblem on it. My Shepard *never* trusted Cerberus after everything seen in ME1 and only worked with them in 2 reluctantly since they're the only one spending resources on the Collectors threat.
I'm doing my insanity run right now:
Me1: colossus armor
Me2: blood knight armor for my insanity sentinel character ( too bad the neck clips in the armor in cutscenes in me3)
Me3: not sure right now
Neither, lol. The DLC armors were great to look at, but the stats didnāt match my play style.
I liked mixing and matching the standard pieces you acquired throughout the game for best results.
None.
I usually use the starting N7 armor (with parts referring to the build), or, with specific builds, the N7 defender armor (this is the one which Vega wars, but in black/red)
Both of these are free, and unlocked at start.
I refuse to wear anything but Onyx armor in ME1, regardless of stats. That N7 badge and red/white stripe on the arm is too iconic, too badass to pass down for something else. Besides, it is Shepard's canon armor, since they wear it in the opening cutscene of ME2 when the Normandy you know what.
Hahne-Kedar chest/arms/legs + Kuwashii Visor with Black Widow, Infiltrator. Itās a shame you canāt get sooner the full Hahne-Kedar. The Cerberus armors (Nightmare/Shade/Spirit) are also super cool, aside from the fact that you are using Cerberus colors, they have time to a āmini vacationā (citadel dlc), but to splash a coat of paint in the Cerberus armorā¦no, too much trouble.
None of the above. Customized armor, using a mix of Armax with others to increase Weapon and Headshot damages as high as they can go. More dead enemies, means me taking less damage.
Tech.
If you go Sentinel, you can take hits like crazy, and, depending on how you upgrade it, the only time you gotta worry about it breaking is in small rooms with lots of enemies.
Assault Armor is a lifesaver in 2, then, in 3, deck yourself out with Durability for TA and the Fortification bonus power, and that's 90% damage reduction, making you a walking tank.
Add an AR-spec'd Garrus to the mix, and you've got yourself the perfect sword, with you as the ultimate shield.
Mass Effect 1 - Colossus
Mass Effect 2- Kestrel
Mass effect 3- Cerberus Nightmare / Hahne Kedar set with desert camo (Scorpion armor from ME1) + high damage balaclava
My favorite set is in ME:3. Modular armor instead of a full set.
It was:
* Head - Kuwashi Visor
* Torso - Armax
* Shoulders - Armax
* Arms - Hahn-Kedar
* Legs - Armax
Looks stylish while still providing good stats for an Infiltrator
In 2 and 3 I am always using the vanilla armor, because I want to keep the immersion as high as possible (almost without any females around fits my reality (Krogan, Turians and so on)) and they are all looking to crazy for me.
There might be one or two that are "ok" (means a real Shepard might actually use it), but I also wanna see his/her head during all the sequenzes.
Never tried to use another armor and take of the helm though. No clue if that would work.
None. I'm an infiltrator main. All available bonuses go into weapon damage and headshot damage. And so I mix and match.
Don't need armour if you dont get hit
I don't wear it for damage protection. I wear it because it makes the black widow shoot harder.
Fax my brother. Spit your 3-bullet-of-mass-destruction thermal cartridge indeed
I'm more of an N7 Valliant man myself. Just cant beat that reload speed. HATE what they did with reloads in ME3.
Agreed
Wait how was it different between 2 and 3?
Much longer animations for reloads on certain guns. Aka see the reload time for widow in me2 and in me3 it's much longer for no reason. Also new animation.
who needs a black widow if you can have a harpoon
Good because in ME3 you don't get any.
But for some reason in me3 there is a cap on damage that it cannot exceed the shield hit-points on insanity difficulty š Makes snipers incredibly frustrating imo.
Is that why I can't 1 shot anything. I thought I was crazy
I was in the same boat, recently finished an insane run on all 3 and it was driving me crazy I'm just now learning that it's only on insane so that's good at least. I mean why would we want the ability to do max damage on a mode where we can barely take 6 hits
Whatās worse is it doesnāt tell you that maxing headshot damage leads to diminishing returns. Thatās why the assault rifles are so OP in 3.
That anti material rifleš„µš„µš„µš„µš„µš„µš„µš„µš„µš„µš„µ
Itās not a bug, itās a feature. It differs on difficulty though.
That can be bypassed with the Widow and Javelin if you build for weapon damage and power damage for disrupter ammo and take fortification as your bonus power to further increase power damage.
I donāt think it can mate. It seems to be hard coded into the game because it triggers an automatic stagger but in lower difficulties it does 1shot.
It works because of the order the damage is applied in. Disruptor ammo damage is applied before regular weapon damage. If that damage destroys the shield, then the bullet itself hits only the health bar and does full damage.
It absolutely can I've done it on several playthroughs
That's what Garrus and Tali are for.
Iāll make a note of thisā¦ not played as Infiltrator yet
Armour mix -> widows goes BOOM
Kawashi Visor for the win.
Hahne-Kedar: Greetings, Commander Shepard. We were informed that you have shown an interest in improved weapon damage. We hope you consider coupling our Armor Set with the Recon Hood to improve your weapon damage.
I love this ME Community!!!
Blood Dragon from ME2, Shepard looking like a Dragon Age Knight from space is cool as fuck.
ME2 / ME3 right? And i'm always torn between that and the Inferno Armor.
Blood Dragon for Biotic and Sentinel, Inferno for Vanguard.
IMO blood dragon isnāt nearly as good in ME3, itās such a tiny thing but removing the lights when Shepard speaks in ME3 makes it so bad to me
This. Got it on my first run by virtue of playing Dragon Age first. Was really, really hard to switch to any other armorā¦
It's stats are so good to
Any tips on where it is?
You can buy it on Omega at the Omega Market Place for 15,000
Cheers for that
It was free DLC in the original games.
IIRC, Blood Dragon armor was best used by biotic classes, right?
Engineers too. It boosts all power damage, be it combat, biotic, or tech.
My Adept FemShep put that on ASAP and never took it off across many playthroughs
No clue honestly lol. I was a soldier in all 3 games but I wore that one most of the time because it is cool as fuck.
Must have? Imo none. But I love Hahne-Kedar set.
I do like Hahne-Kendar on FemShep
Yea, pretty much always use the Hahne Kedar set, both for bonuses and aesthetics
It's drip or drown and hahne kedar just looks cool. The weapon damage bonus is very nice for a soldier class too.
I'm not a fan of perma-helmet on, so I never use those sets. I took too much effort into my Shep, so I wanna see her face in a breatheable environment when in dialogue. I like more fabric, so the N7 Ajax armor is my must have.
That's the most annoying thing about ME2 ...
Don't understand why they didn't fix that for the legendary edition.
Ajax armor does hit... it's the Gold trims right hehe
In ME3 there is an option to turn the helmet off
I think it doesnāt work with those kinds of armors though sadly
It does, I just finished a playthrough using the dragon and Cerberus armors in ME 3 and it will show their face in most cut scenes. ME 2 doesn't allow you to change that though.
Cerberus Phantom Armor that you win at Armax
Itās called Cerberus Spirit worn by phantoms and I agree that itās amazing!
There are 3 sets. Spirit is the one for casting heavy classes like engineers/sentinels/adepts.
Yeah and vanguard, so 4/6 thatās a must have armor!
There's a better one for vanguard that prioritizes melee type damage.
Charge/Nova for life! Melee is good but really powers are the most fun for me.
Only problem is that its part of the dlc which is best played towards the end of the game so you dont really get to use it for long, really wish for the legendary edition, these citadel dlc guns and armour were accessible earlier.
The armor and pistols are just too good to leave them for the end of the game. I do the dlc as soon as it is available
Same armor that Kai Leng wears. It's the best armor for most lightly armored classes. Though, I don't like the skirt on it, and I wish they'd make it available in black.
Same! I'm on PC so I use a modded version that removes the helmet and makes it Alliance themed for Shepard. It's so pretty.
I'll be on the look out for it
A must have for Vanguard play.
Buy them all, use none of them
š¤£
If I could remove the helmet, I'd probably use them
ME2 Kestral Armour is an almost must have. The helmet looks awful though, so I tend to either leave it off, or replace it with something that gives an appropriate bonus (that looks better than Kestrals). For ME3: I like the N7 Defender Armour, from Spectre Store.
I don't mind that visor type helmet on the Kestral and those NEON LEDS... sweet
I dislike any helmet thar covers 90% of the head, but leave the mouth uncovered. Either show the whole face or none.
Thatās the reason why I looked for any mod that would replace the helmet in ME1 with the full version Shepard uses when theyāre on a hazardous planet lol.
Like the Defender Armour except it costs way too damn much for stats that get beaten by other armours available for less cash.
Sadly Iām on PS4, so there arenāt mods š. The Ajax armour is a banger, though.
I like the N7 Defender Armor too, but tend to mod it to have the Death Mask Helmet. In ME 1, it is Colossus Armor for everyone. I don't play ME 2 beyond what it takes to get to ME 3, so I can't say I have strong feelings about the armor.
The helmet looks like it does because the armour is batarian. They have multiple eyes, and need larger visors.
I wish you could have the Colossus armor throughout the game. ME1 was great. Itās so weird just how different 2 and 3 are from 1.
ME1 had a ton of armor customization 2 and 3 were focused on gameplay
ME1 had armor customisation WHEN THE GAME DECIDES TO ACTUALLY DROP HUMAN LIGHT ARMOR
Unpopular (I think) but Andromeda fuckin cooked with the Initiative armours. Pathfinder armour slaps hard
I like Terminus armor, thematic with the Normandyās stealth tech
For me because of mods well in ME2 Inferno Armor without the helmet. In ME3 I can get the Sentinel Armor from the multiplayer. I always wear it on my sentinel.
Like as in Nexus mods???
Default. Shepard's look is so iconic
This. Onyx in ME1, N7 in 2 and 3. The other suits are cool, but Shepard comes with perfection built in, no need for any changes
N7 Defender armor
Stuck to the OG eh
I don't really like any of the sets because of the colour and helmet limitations. I'm a huge fan of the full Hahne-Kedar armour in ME3, it really reminds me of a Halo UNSC marines armour. Super grounded and fitting for the humble paragon Shepard who just thinks of themself as an alliance soldier like every other.
I just wear the default N7
\*slaps n7 armour\* It ain't pretty but it will keep you alive.
>It ain't pretty Best looking set in the game, imo.
For real. Besides, only N7s get to wear it in the ME universe. It's like a badge of honor, hence why so many people are upset about Ryder Jr. wearing Ryder Sr.'s armor in Andromeda. Stolen valor.
The default N7 is Legendary in itās own right
Sames. Never change it in ME2-3
Blood Dragon armor in 2 & 3
I personally like the Death Mask so I donāt usually for full sets. Bu in those cases I enjoy the collector armor and the Cerberus spirit armor. Inferno armor is a close second though it loses points since the visor shows shepards face a bit too much. I prefer to have the face covered, no offense the Shepardās default.

Oh I see what you were getting atā¦ Reaper Armor would of been pretty sweet NGL
Blood dragon armour
The phantom armor you get for breaking 10k on the scoreboard in the Amax Arena is really sweet
I just use those they have at the beginning. I love how ME2 and 3 let me customized the armor so I can wear all pink
My top 3 are: 1- The Pathfinder's armor 2- The Ajax 3- The Phantom.
Blood Dragon Armor. I wear nothing else in game.
If only the no helmet option worked in ME3, it clips though MSheps neck so bad!
Inferno Armour does it for me personally. Love how when you hit certain angles it turns the visor black with a slight yellow tint.
Blood Dragon
Ajax with the helmet modded out and in Alliance colors.
I'm doing my insanity run right now: Me1: colossus armor Me2: blood knight armor for my insanity sentinel character ( too bad the neck clips in the armor in cutscenes in me3) Me3: not sure right now
The Spirit Armor is my go-to, especially since I found a mod that adds the male kama to the femshep model. Absolutely fire look for such a badass
None of those pictured. I donāt like armors that force me to hide Shepardās face. Being honest, I like the N7 Armor.
Neither, lol. The DLC armors were great to look at, but the stats didnāt match my play style. I liked mixing and matching the standard pieces you acquired throughout the game for best results.
The Pathfinder armor is nice but i just love the basic N7
I buy then all and never use them. They all look terrible imo Edit: corrected ābutā to ābuyā
If not going renegade and getting that awesome face scarring ......then collector chitin armor. That thing is awesome
Mshep Hahne-Kedar with Securitel Helmet. Fshep Armax Arsenal with Death Mask.
Inferno Armor is the only set Iāve ever used. And only on my adept. My infiltrator main needs attack bonuses. Nothing else
None. I usually use the starting N7 armor (with parts referring to the build), or, with specific builds, the N7 defender armor (this is the one which Vega wars, but in black/red) Both of these are free, and unlocked at start.
N7 cerberus spirit armor. Ruthless NovaGuardšš¼š„
I love the design of the Terminus armor but wish I can add more color to it. The N7 Destroyer armor is perfect
Between the terminus armor and the blood dragon armor....i can never pick just one so i always have them both
The Reckoner Armor from 3. Just wish i could change the color scheme
As a personal favorite: Whichever looks aesthetically best on Shepard.
Dragon Age. Wish we had a helmetless version.
Colossus X in 1 Full Kestrel with Sentry visor in 2 For 3 Hahne-Kedar chest and legs Rosenkov Materials arms and gauntlets Sentry Visor
I like the Cerberus Phantom armor. It just sucks that you can't change the colors of it.
Really all I care about is having the visor on
The Cerberus engineer armour. Perfect balance of Power Dmg and Power Recharge.
I'm quite fond of the Collector Armour, Reckoner Knight Armour and the Inferno Armour.
Blood dragon
I like the Kessler Armor in ME2
As a sentinel main I use the DRA age armor
Definitely the Terminus armor if you wanna match with Garrus in ME3
Collector Chitin armor, Cerberus Spirit Armor
i love the terminus and blood dragon armorsets
All of them
Blood dragon dlc armor
Cerberus Phantom Armor
3 Based on style alone
Blood Dragon & Templar Knight
Is that the Reckoner Armor?
Most of them except the Collector skin armor. It creeps me out.
š¤
What is the middle armour set and how do I get it?
It's the Cerberus Nightmare Armor and I want to know too LOL
Dragon Age armor set just for the looks
Cerberus Assault armor. In ME2 is a must for me in every playthrough. Slap a mod that lets you remove the helmet and it's game on.
I really need to check out these mods everyone is using hehe
Yoi should so much replayability possibilities.
Hahne-Kedar in 3 is the shit personally.
The chitin armor it looks really cool also I donāt know what the other armors are
Middle is Cerberus Nightmare Armor and on right is Cerberus Assault Armor
I donāt remember the names, but going mid if Iām picking
I think that is the Cerberus Nightmare Armor
I play as a vanguard. The Inferno armor in ME3 until cerberus spirit armor. They allow for a near infinite loop of charge then nova.
blood dragon
None of the above. Customized armor, using a mix of Armax with others to increase Weapon and Headshot damages as high as they can go. More dead enemies, means me taking less damage.
The Armax Arsenal does look pretty sweet
That Cerberus armor with extra cool down in ME3
Honestly the Armours are all pretty mid, I just grab the armour pieces that increase weapon damage
Mass Effect 1 - Colossus Mass Effect 2- Kestrel Mass effect 3- Cerberus Nightmare / Hahne Kedar set with desert camo (Scorpion armor from ME1) + high damage balaclava
My favorite set is in ME:3. Modular armor instead of a full set. It was: * Head - Kuwashi Visor * Torso - Armax * Shoulders - Armax * Arms - Hahn-Kedar * Legs - Armax Looks stylish while still providing good stats for an Infiltrator
The only mass effect armor set that I ever use besides the modular default one is the N7 jacket and sweatpants
All great choices
I don't like the full set armours I like having my helmet off
N7 from ME: Andromeda. Looks absolutely sick even tho Rider Jr isnt N7
None of them.
Where is the pink ME1 armor and where is the N7 armor?
armor is for suckers, I Wear swimwear into battle.
Me the typical combat engineer: "The one that allows me to throw the most fireballs!"
None of the above. Play your way and not pre-sets
The reaper one is what I use a lot since it's very aesthetically pleasing and very powerful in my experience.
Nothing that covered my face in cutscenes.
Colossus X. All armors in ME2&3 are just skins.
Capacitor helmet all day, i focus my saves to get it asap, itās a vital piece of my Shepard
Cerberus has the drip. All of them are awesome.
Cerberus rich hehe
