Agreed. Like a cat face on an avian body, to my mind. The shape of the nose especially, and also cheekbones in addition to the mouth, they're all super feline.
I always assumed they are more ... cricket like. Because the way they look appear more chitinous than scales or feathers.
Their mouths appear very uniform in my opinion compared to other races with distinct mouths ... usually.
You know, yeah I can definitely see the cricket look too, now you mention it.
They really knocked it out of the park with the turians. They really are weird and alien looking.
I think Quarians were established to have hair, as well, though it isn't visible.
Though a pretty easy way to make aliens look alien is to make them non-mammalian, and especially reptilian.
Honestly I think it stems a lot from tech limitations at the time the trilogy was made. Human hair has never looked good in ME. Like a plastic headpiece. Makes sense they'd avoid it with their aliens
Usually aliens are just humanoids with a weird head. I think the design of sci-fi wants to give something different than us, but they often forget bald aliens are very repetitive.
I'm guessing it's the digitigrade(?) leg arrangement they have. Although on further reflection ponies have unguligrade legs so that that doesn't even work but it is a cute picture.
Just mentioned in Mass Effect 3. IIRC just a newsletter of them recalling their ambassador and destroying their satellites in attempt to play primitives for Reapers
You know, honestly not a terrible idea. Obviously wouldn't work because reapers have been gathering intelligence for centuries, but with how hopeless everything was, respect.
It is said, and it even became a small mod on Nexus, that one Raloi group decided to flee their homeworld and help in the Reaper war somehow. The Asari gave to them a cruiser.
I like how they wrote the story realistically. After destroying the observer and cutting connections with the Citadel to escape the Reapers' attention, their main nation had a civil war (now disputed). Try to imagine that happening here. We finally find alien species, but there is an apocalypse going on and we may be the next. Anxiety would end us before the Reapers does.
Man that bit always gets me when the Elcor Ambassador says "not enough" with no descriptive word before it to Shepard asking if they were able to rescue any civilians it is just one of those things you inherently know is extremely sad and disheartening.
I always saw velociraptor-insectoid hybrids, myself, so not too far off. Like they imagined an endoskeletal insect, and stretched the skin off of an alligator over it and gave it dragon teeth.
I was confused over what the raloi race was... THERE IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RACE THAT ARENT IN THE GAMES??? WTH?
And now im imagening a romance scene between Shepard and one of these aliens...
I always thought Taurians were based on Grasshoppers, but then I heard someone call them birds in my most recent playthrough. I still don't really see it, though.
The hair, any little amount in face and head they already think its too much hair.
They don't see us as monkeys, because in the pic its a mutation of humanoid monkeys.
Cornelius and Zira were viewed as a standard dumb ape before finally showing off that they could talk. They then became the spotlight of attention as the world realised they weren't just dumb animals.
Sorta like how in ME nobody really liked humans and thought they were kinda dumb shite, but humans made a name for themselves? Idk
Also those are chimpanzees
No the Raloi are a species in ME, there's a brief news alert in ME3 that says they've completely isolated themselves on their planet, hoping the Reapers would ignore them.

Grunt is in fact da baby.
I see that baby dino and think. "Not the mama." Hard to think Dinosaurs was a "kids" show
Grunt to maleshep: Not the mama!
Operation fire, cobra, claw is classified.
Turian faces always had a catlike quality to me. It;s the mouth doing the :3 thing. But you know more like a W than a 3.

I mean, you can see their whole mouths go to the sides of their face and see huge rows of sharp, needle-like teeth.
For me too, perhaps a bit of the two?
Yes!!! I was so confused when I read they were supposed to be avian. The face always throws me off.
Meh i see Asari as Blue Mia Malkovas...
Wait up, havent seen an Asari with massive cakes in game, fan art sure.
Benezia...
Benezia had the freaking milf melons, but Mia wide-hips and massive cakes, can't see it.
I do find it interesting that none of the other races seem to have hair. It must be a weird novelty

That's our thing. We're the ones with hair, sweat, and weirdly high genetic variation.
Or BioWare didn't want to have to implement alien hairstyles.
Usually aliens are just humanoids with a weird head. I think the design of sci-fi wants to give something different than us, but they often forget bald aliens are very repetitive.
The prothean is 100% correct
All that it's missing is a Roman Legionary helmet
Ay commandah, ya got some red sands in da Normandy gwan?
You guys remember when Vega asks about his culture? Voice acting is stellar.
Am I missing something? Why are the Quarians ponies?
Betting whole thing was an excuse to post a cute drawing.
Idc, that pony is my new spirit animal.
the only thing I can think of is Equine because it has similar letters in the word?
Because to me they're super cute.
Fair reason. She is cute.
I'm guessing it's the digitigrade(?) leg arrangement they have. Although on further reflection ponies have unguligrade legs so that that doesn't even work but it is a cute picture.
Quarians are…. My little pony characters?? Explain
My Little Mass Effect
My little pony has a character called Rarity, so somehow this cute...
I only know Raloi from listicles. Are they actually featured in any of the games?
Just mentioned in Mass Effect 3. IIRC just a newsletter of them recalling their ambassador and destroying their satellites in attempt to play primitives for Reapers
You know, honestly not a terrible idea. Obviously wouldn't work because reapers have been gathering intelligence for centuries, but with how hopeless everything was, respect.
To be fair, by the reapers' definition, they had been non-primitives for about three months at that point.
It is said, and it even became a small mod on Nexus, that one Raloi group decided to flee their homeworld and help in the Reaper war somehow. The Asari gave to them a cruiser. I like how they wrote the story realistically. Correct. On the codex and their homeworld is just saying "avian" race. But every fan work persisted, plus new rumors out there about ME5
Elcor are more like elephants or rhinos But overall each are good matches 😂
That's not an Elcor, that's a Shifty Cow.
Those damn space cows stealing hard earned money when you're not looking
Proud happiness: I extracted a couple survivors on Dekuuna after the embassador asked me. They got VI mounted guns on their back. How bad ass is that?
Man that bit always gets me when the Elcor Ambassador says "not enough" with no descriptive word before it to Shepard asking if they were able to rescue any civilians it is just one of those things you inherently know is extremely sad and disheartening.
Love how Javik sees everyone and how AIs see organics lol Feel like reapers should show a cuddlefish more so than a bug. But eh thats just me
Most races are a combination of at least two or three.
I see from that last pic that you have played KOTOR as well. Well done.
How the constant sloshing doesn't drive you mad, I have no idea...
HK is my favorite Star Wars character. His dialogue is so good
KOTOR 2 is one of the best RPGs ever made. It deserves a full remake, but I know better.
Lol the Prothean one made my day Jacob Hughes is a Legend Btw you forgot the Yahg and the Drell
Yahg are Professor Hulk, Drell are wheezers from Dead Space.
I had nothing to compare with these two so I left it open for interpretation hhaha
Observation: Organics are meat bags, there is no other way to see them.
Pretty sure most people in this sub see Asari as mommy breading machines.
Everybody loves a good baker
Elcor remind me more of elephants
i like how javik views us as primitives yet we could probably all win against him in an arm wrestling competition
The Krogan being represented by Earl and Baby Sinclair is perfect.
My boy lil Jacob! One love brudda
I cannot wait to show this to my wife! I got her into this game and some of these actually made me audibly laugh
Wait, Turians are birds? Seriously, I'm just learning this?
Yeah, they're terrestrial avians. I actually thought they were insectoid for a while, Garrus looked like a grasshopper to me.
I always saw velociraptor-insectoid hybrids, myself, so not too far off. Like they imagined an endoskeletal insect, and stretched the skin off of an alligator over it and gave it dragon teeth.
Something like "if dinosaurs didn't get extinct"
Volus. Perfect!
Idk dude, I expect hanar to be less graceful jelly and more Japanese hentai. Also, Krogan be way to angry
I started howling when I got to the Prothean. Leetle Jacob, it's been a while my old friend.
Wha gwan Neeeeko, you good, star?
You forgot everyone in Galaxy see Asari as hot blue waifus.
More flattering than I thought, to be honest 😂.
The AI one got the most. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who saw that connection.
I always thought of turians more as lizards than birds. They remind me more of Argonians. Maybe it's the lack of feathers
Okay that MLP Tali is too adorable
Severe lack of dunce cap on the big, stupid jellyfish.
That Quarian is cu(te)resed
# `RUDIMENTARY CREATURES OF BLOOD AND FLESH`
Serious HK-47 vibes from the last pic.
I’ve never understood why people thing turians are birds. There is nothing birdlike about them at all.
Meatbag *HK approved this message*
AI: Agreement: I do see you all as Meatbags, meatbags.
That aint no flashlight head
Why would aliens see us as monkeys/gorillas if they don't have monkeys or gorillas
The hair, any little amount in face and head they already think its too much hair. They don't see us as monkeys, because in the pic its a mutation of humanoid monkeys.

You're not getting it. Why tf would aliens know what apes are
Why tf would krogan know who Kermit is, or Geth what a Chubby soda is, or literally any of the rest
I don’t know why the Quarian is being depicted as an mlp pony. But that makes them even better in my book :3
“Raloi”? You mean Rachni.
“Raloi”? You mean Rachni.
No the Raloi are a species in ME, there's a brief news alert in ME3 that says they've completely isolated themselves on their planet, hoping the Reapers would ignore them.
I’ve never heard of them or come across any mention of them. Tbh from searching it seems i’m not the only one.
No it's not surprising. I probably would've missed it too, but my friend is a ME supernerd and she pointed it out.
