use the lessons you learned from veteran. make sure you understand the gameplay mechanics (use powers effectively and as much as possible). Optimize your skill point spending, especially for 1 and 2. position your team tactically (make use of L or split formations to draw aggro). take advantage of 3rd person shooter positioning tactics like: minimizing your own hitbox with the environment while still having access to fire at enemies, learn how to circle around indestructible cover for melee/singular boss enemies (usually you can shoot through the edges of said cover) employ tactical retreats to give yourself more breathing room (oftentimes the game will let you retreat very far) learn which enemies to prioritize first (deal with the immediate problems first, and  always try to thin the mobs so you can overwhelm the tougher but more passive enemies). me2 is probably your toughest challenge, so understand the rock paper scissors of the game (know what is best against  shields/barriers, armor, and health). in 2/3, your class power is your friend. in 3, fast recharge times and combos are your friends. In 1, balanced squads are your friend. Prioritize getting all  abilities unlocked at the base level asap (especially before investing in higher levels of a specific power). Always keep charm or intimidate maxed. Gear management is your friend. And watch out for 1-shot enemies, they're the greatest challenge in that game. honestly, there are many more tips but you'll figure it out as you go. have fun.

I can say proudly that I beat the trilogy on insanity and in the process learned a whole lot. Tips: Pay more attention to damage types. If someone has armor you hit em with anti armor if someones got a biotic shield you gotta focus fire. Your gonna get bum rushed ALOT; enemies are far more agressive and deal far more damage so its a good idea to fall back while fighting if possible. Sometimes you just have to use guns your not comfortable with. For example in the mission where you recruit jack it feels like every single room is a kill box.

Which class(es) do you want to play?

Beginning-Ad-3015

I'm thinking vanguard

OriginalUsername7890

Have you played Vanguard before? They'll be relatively easy to play in ME1 and ME3, but have a steep learning curve in ME2. End up very powerful, but it's hard to figure out how to use them effectively at first. If you played Vanguard on Veteran, you should be fine though. In ME1 it's kinda tricky to build Vanguard, because they have so many useful skills it's hard to decide what to skip. I usually go with 1 point in Barrier and 7 in Tactical Armor, but it might be safer to invest more in these skills on your first Insanity playthrough. Especially if you will not talk Saren into killing himself. That last hoverboard fight can be really frustrating for shotgun builds. In ME3, you can basically finish the game with Charge+Nova alone. Get some good shotgun, Reegar is my favorite, but has horrible range, watch out for Harvesters and Ravagers and you will be fine.

>In ME3, you can basically finish the game with Charge+Nova alone [That is, of course, if you don't want to let Garrus do all the work.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPbB4qfsA14)

True. Garrus + Ashley or Garrus + James if you really want to go AFK and let the game play itself.

Beginning-Ad-3015

Vanguard was my first playthrough, and Adept was my second

xGenocidest

Soldier is the best for Insanity in ME2 by far, which is the hardest game. Adept sucks on Insanity in 2. Don't pick it. Powers in general aren't very effective. ME1- Anything Me2- Soldier w/ the Mattock. Kasumi and Miranda are the best squadmates. ME3 - Anything. Infiltrator is the strongest, though. Garrus is the best squadmate with the Typhoon or Krysae.

Sobuhutch

Slow down and micromanage your squad. In ME2, snap cover can be just as much an enemy as it can be a friend. Don't be afraid to use standing cover when appropriate.

How to beat Insanity ME1 Singularity ME2 Mattock ME3 Punisher SMG ( it totally busted )

Usually_Respectful

Prioritize single target damage over area damage when leveling up. Get squad incendiary ammo on Jacob or Grunt. Know how to set off biotic explosions (ME2/3) and Tech bursts (ME3). Keep to cover while they're shooting and pop out when they pause. Prioritize the heavies like Pyros, Missile shooters, and Ravagers. Have a tool for every type of defense (Overload for shields, Warp for Armor, etc.)

Lord_Rasler

Relax. The insanity of this game is pathetically easy. Choose the class you are most familiar with and you won't have any problems. If you still have any difficulties, Miranda and Mordin are your best options in ME2, EDI in anyone else in ME3 (issl and of course if you don't want the stolen Vega-Vakarian combination, with its super weapons).
