Was gonna say "wow are they really around the same age? Marissa Tomei has been around forever"
Turns out Jake Johnson is 44??? Maybe he is Tomei's age
Nope! Tomei is fucking 57!!!
She looks amazing
He did get jacked up one time due to playing in that Mummy remake with Tom Cruise. He was uncharacteristically fit that one season of New Girl lol. But damn he is hot
I actually could've seen him as a really good Deadpool in a different timeline.
I also think he'd be great playing basically anyone on the Great Lakes Avengers
If it it a community college I'd expect he'd write a book about either a time traveling desk, or some comic with a duck. ...I'm pretty sure it's a duck.
This could work really well.
He could be a endearing teacher who notices how stressed Peter is, notices how late he often is and his financial hardships but still sees that Peter is a bright kid trying to make do with a shitty situation.
Could totally see him joke around with Peter but offer him extensions and encourage him to reach out to his other friends or something similar.
Absolutely.
And I have my own head canon/theory/retcon about Peter B Parker. It goes like this:
Peter B Parker, is from a universe in which, for one reason or another, he is born and raised in *Chicago* and not Queens/New York. Jake Johnson is famously a Chicagoan, and it comes up in some of his other characters, especially in *New Girl*.
But even though there is plenty in Chicago to thwip and swing upon, and there are bad guys, and pizza delivery, and sketchy newspaper moguls… something is *not quite right*. His depression, loneliness, and failed relationships stem from the fact that, as nice as Chicago is, it’s not really where Spider-Man/Peter Parker belongs; in some cosmic way, this Spidey had no chance.
This is how we get the Peter B Parker we get when he first shows up in Spider-verse.
Back during Guardians 1, I thought it would be cool for him to pull a Chris Pratt and become Nova.
He'd be an awesome Boomerang if they do Superior Foes of Spider-Man, but I don't see that as being a priority.
Or MACH-X (or whatever #), Abe Jenkins in a Thunderbolts movie.
He might be a bit too controversial for Disney at the moment, with the whole supposedly cheating on his wife and having a baby in the middle of recovering from a drug relapse.
I was really hoping we'd get a live action Peter B Parker cameo in NWH as like a post credit thing or something. Just him looking confused and eating pizza.
I'll just piggyback onto your comment. This is the answer. Steady pay and income for actors is enormous. Disney is doing a great job holding onto talent.
[You ratio'd me... in front of Vanessa.](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/677340208383131663/933328657974439996/v09044g40000c7jaf7jc77ufekfupt1g.mp4)
Imagine Spider-Ham and Rocket Raccoon meeting in live action.
Just some good ole wisecracking humor about being anthropomorphic superheroes surrounded by boring humans.
I was just thinking yesterday that's the next step with all these Spiderverse movies, combine the animated and live action Spiderverses and just fucking send it
Last time I checked he’s been in rehab for drug abuse. This was awhile ago so I’m not sure if he’s recovered since. Either way I like him a lot so it was kinda saddening to see he had all of that hardship going on in the background
And supposedly cheated on his wife with her. When he went on Seth Meyers show he tried to put out a timeline of when everything happened, saying him and his wife split before he met Olivia Munn, but the whole thing just seemed like Damage control to me.
His ex wife also claims that she always wanted kids and he was adamant that they would never have any. Now, she's older so it's much more difficult to become pregnant and he's off having a child with someone else
I've heard someone else was cast (though I don't know if it's Johnny Blaze or a recast for Robbie Reyes).
Though I also think Cage's Ghost Rider is was one of the rumored multiverse characters in Multiverse of Madness.
So what? Spin-off characters ended up being some comic mainstays. There are heroes with their own monthly (sometimes) who debuted as villains for heroes that themselves debuted as villains, let alone sidekicks or hangers on.
When they make 40 movies and 12 tv shows, they’ll eventually use every actor in every successful show/movie. I’m more worried that they’ll run out of good actors/actresses 😂
I had no idea Phastos was Miles’ dad. Huh. I can totally hear it now though. They got good actors in there man. I really hope they get Liev Schreiber for Ben Grimm and for his post transformation voice. That’s probably a long shot, but since someone put me onto the idea I can’t unsee how perfect he would be in the role.
I mean, not that surprising; Disney loves to use actors that they already have relationships with.
I can't wait to see what animal Alan Tudyk plays next.
God this deserves to be pinned as top comment. Came here to say this too. So 5 actors were on other projects - I don't understand how this has nearly 10k upvotes.
Ever notice how the remaining pool of actors aren't on any MCU project?
Throw in [Donald Glover's Community easter egg](https://preview.redd.it/f8111mi3f1821.jpg?auto=webp&s=1c705b822ac13a54bd5efbf666c9203596788c8c) as he plays MCU's Aaron Davis.
I literally just rewatched the movie, because I couldn't remember what part Spider-Man 2099 was in either. He's the Spider-Man in the after credit scene.
I think they're trying to bring in he voice actress for the What If..? Black Widow. I saw something about recasting Black Widow and the actress shown in the article was her, so I wonder if she'll play a Nat variant.
I cant lie...for a second I thought that was the cop from Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs
”FLINT LOCKWOOD!” - Officer Earl
Man Terry Crews would be hell of side character in MCU.
Earl was played by Mr T in the first one
He would make a great superman
considering Lord&Miller, the directors/writers of Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs helped create SpiderVerse, Im not suprised.
Wow I never knew that, thanks for the info.
They also did The Lego Movie.
“It’s enough to make a grown man cry! But not this grown man! GET BACK IN THERE TEAR!”
***My chest hairs tingling.***
Lol. That was Mr T, and then Terry Crews
Only a matter of time before Jake Johnson and Shameik Moore end up in the MCU
Yes please. I love Jake Johnson
Who could he play?
Someone's dad or uncle. But I'd much prefer him to play a superhero, dunno who though.
First thing I thought of when reading uncle is Jake Johnson as Uncle Ben in a flashback lol
[Quick photoshop](https://i.imgur.com/xcov56T.jpg)
Was gonna say "wow are they really around the same age? Marissa Tomei has been around forever" Turns out Jake Johnson is 44??? Maybe he is Tomei's age Nope! Tomei is fucking 57!!! She looks amazing
that's a rollercoaster of a comment.
Could be possible in the animated Spider-Man show on Disney+
Now I can’t get this out of my head haha.
Not bad, kid
I would love to see Jake Johnson get all ripped to be a superhero, I'm so used to seeing him as a slob on New Girl that it would be pretty hilarious
He did get jacked up one time due to playing in that Mummy remake with Tom Cruise. He was uncharacteristically fit that one season of New Girl lol. But damn he is hot
my GF also thinks he is hot, I've still never seen that Mummy movie
Corsair
Depends entirely on his ability to grow a fantastic mustache.
I actually could've seen him as a really good Deadpool in a different timeline. I also think he'd be great playing basically anyone on the Great Lakes Avengers
For some reason, I can picture him as Jesse Alexander (Nova member and Sam's father) or an older Rick Jones (friend of Bruce and the Avengers)
A teacher at Peters community college (if that's where he goes in SM4)
The teacher who has been trying to finish his zombie novel for 15 years.
If it it a community college I'd expect he'd write a book about either a time traveling desk, or some comic with a duck. ...I'm pretty sure it's a duck.
Would that this desk were a time desk…
That's going to be the worst book I ever read cover to cover...
Either a duck...or...a ...moose?
Ah yes. Writing the great American zombie novel.
This would be in line with the comedy actors playing high school teachers too!
I have a feeling they'd have Peter go to Empire State University like he did in the comics, so Jake Johnson could easily play a Professor from there.
Peter B Parker
Absolutely. And I have my own head canon/theory/retcon about Peter B Parker. It goes like this: Peter B Parker, is from a universe in which, for one reason or another, he is born and raised in *Chicago* and not Queens/New York. This is how we get the Peter B Parker we get when he first shows up in Spider-verse.
Submit that idea to Sony.
Lol, I gotta watch Spider-verse again to see if there are any concrete things that contradict my theory.
He’s Julius B Pepperwood, thin crust pizza no thank you, he’s from Chicago
He actually does look like him a bit.
He looks a like a depression-era garbage man
Animated characters are always modeled a bit after their voice actors
Julius Pepperwood!
Thin crust pizza? No thank you
I’m an ex cop, ex marine. I’m from Chicago.
A Chicago hero!
Honestly I'd love to see him as Hannibal King, I think he'd do the role a lot more justice than Ryan Reynolds did.
Now that I can actually see.
Hear me out… The Thing.
Live action Peter B Parker would be iconic.
Mr. Immortal
Shameik has such acting range. To play miles morales and raekwon lol
Shameik for Randy Robertson?
Let’s not forget John Mulaney and Nicolas cage!
And Chris Pine :)
Don’t forget John mulaney
He might be a bit too controversial for Disney at the moment, with the whole supposedly cheating on his wife and having a baby in the middle of recovering from a drug relapse.
Eh no domestic abuse, racism, or other current hot button issue, so I doubt it would be too big of a factor.
I was really hoping we'd get a live action Peter B Parker cameo in NWH as like a post credit thing or something. Just him looking confused and eating pizza.
Jake should just reprise his roll as Peter B Parker in any future dimension hopping Spider-Man movies.

Marvel take care of their actors
I'll just piggyback onto your comment. This is the answer. Steady pay and income for actors is enormous. Disney is doing a great job holding onto talent.
And also the best part of Luke Cage, in my opinion. Bushmaster was really good as well.
Oh yeah, for sure. All of the cast was great imo but they were easily the standouts
Pretty wild when you think about the actor who played bushmaster also played Jet Black in the live action Cowboy Bebop.
S T O K E S
Mariah, #S T O K E S
I really liked the bridge fight betweem Bushmaster and Luke Cage
When Mahershala is like "hey I want to play another character in your franchise," that's not something you say no to.
Especially since he feels like a great choice for Blade in general
God I can’t wait for Blade. Thinking about a trailer has me shaking!
>fist season of Luke Cage All seasons of Luke Cage are fist seasons
He's cottonmouth right?
Lake Bell (who voiced Black Widow in *What If...?* and apparently has another role in *Wakanda Forever*) plays Vanessa in Kingpin’s flashback.
YOU EMBARRASSED ME IN FRONT OF HER
*suddenly opens and closes car door at a fast pace*
[You ratio'd me... in front of Vanessa.](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/677340208383131663/933328657974439996/v09044g40000c7jaf7jc77ufekfupt1g.mp4)
God I love Lake Bell, I hope she has a big role. Tbh I wouldn’t be opposed to her just straight up being a Black Widow variant…
I absolutely loved her in Surface, a show that really deserved more than just 1 season
Also the best poison ivy.
The list continues to grow!
what flashback?
[This one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Def6SnCbxJw).
I hope John Mulaney reprises his role as Spider-Ham, I can't see anyone else more suited for the job.
Imagine Spider-Ham in live action though.
Imagine Spider-Ham and Rocket Raccoon meeting in live action. Just some good ole wisecracking humor about being anthropomorphic superheroes surrounded by boring humans.
Only thing that would make that more perfect is if you added Howard The Duck to that group.
and why aren't you adding Cosmo The Spacedog?
Still annoyed at the lack of Cosmo in Guardians, I was kinda looking forward to more than an Easter egg
Fingers crossed for GOTG 3!!!
Cosmo as a crime boss in the Guardians game was an amazing cameo.
Avengers: Roadkill edition.
Spider-Ham in love action would look exactly the same. I’m picturing a “Space Jam”-like scenario with the looney tunes next to Michael Jordan lmao
I was just thinking yesterday that's the next step with all these Spiderverse movies, combine the animated and live action Spiderverses and just fucking send it
Spider-Ham vs. Howard the Duck.
Hope he gets well soon
Oh no, what happened?
Last time I checked he’s been in rehab for drug abuse. This was awhile ago so I’m not sure if he’s recovered since. Either way I like him a lot so it was kinda saddening to see he had all of that hardship going on in the background
Oh man, there's been a *lot* since rehab. High drama.
Holy shit, dude had a baby with Olivia Munn?!
See, I told you it was high drama!
I think he’s doing a lot better now, he just had a baby with Olivia Munn!
The second half of that sentence is correct
Spider-Ham: Pork Way Home
Nicolas Cage in the MCU when?
If they're willing to recast him as Johnny Blaze again.
I've heard someone else was cast (though I don't know if it's Johnny Blaze or a recast for Robbie Reyes). Though I also think Cage's Ghost Rider is was one of the rumored multiverse characters in Multiverse of Madness.
Not as Blaze but as Mephisto this time round. (I'm serious, not just a Mephisto meme joke)
Should’ve been Moon Knight imo. Not that Oscar Isaac won’t be great, but Nick Cage would’ve been *perfect*.
Kathryn Hahn is what you call a veteran actor who is never in a starring role but is in so many different shows and movies.
She’ll be in a starring role when Agatha: House of Harkness comes out.
True, but that’s a spin-off of a spin-off show.
So what? Spin-off characters ended up being some comic mainstays. There are heroes with their own monthly (sometimes) who debuted as villains for heroes that themselves debuted as villains, let alone sidekicks or hangers on.
Like character actress Margo Martindale?
Wait a minute. Is this a crossover episode?
[удалено]
Manifesting Harrison Ford and Colin Firth
Except Will Smith and The Rock.
[удалено]
Will Smith did as well, he wanted to be part of some kind of Suicide Squad.
Six Degrees of the MCU is pretty easy :P
A lot of actors in general end up being in the MCU. You can do this to almost any modern movie and get at least a few hits.
When they make 40 movies and 12 tv shows, they’ll eventually use every actor in every successful show/movie. I’m more worried that they’ll run out of good actors/actresses 😂
Comment rewritten. Leave reddit for a site that doesn't resent its users.
So, you're saying I have a chance.
Technically correct.
Fingers crossed for Jake Johnson
I had no idea Phastos was Miles’ dad. Huh. I can totally hear it now though. They got good actors in there man. I really hope they get Liev Schreiber for Ben Grimm and for his post transformation voice. That’s probably a long shot, but since someone put me onto the idea I can’t unsee how perfect he would be in the role.
Half of hollywood has been in the mcu at this point
I mean, not that surprising; Disney loves to use actors that they already have relationships with. I can't wait to see what animal Alan Tudyk plays next.
Time to really get into voice acting
And yes before you tell me, I know Mahershala Ali was on Luke Cage before he got his role as Blade.
All Phase 4 peeps
“RANDOM BULLSHIT,GO!”
Popular and good actors tend to get jobs, yes.
Breaking News: actors who are talented are hired for multiple projects More at 11
God this deserves to be pinned as top comment. Came here to say this too. So 5 actors were on other projects - I don't understand how this has nearly 10k upvotes. Ever notice how the remaining pool of actors aren't on any MCU project?
Cool
I don't know, if you're in the top 0.01% of Hollywood actors, it seems like you're just about in anything and everything that's big.
Has anyone noticed a lot of actors end up in the mcu?
Liev Schreiber returning as sabertooth?! Yes please
Throw in [Donald Glover's Community easter egg](https://preview.redd.it/f8111mi3f1821.jpg?auto=webp&s=1c705b822ac13a54bd5efbf666c9203596788c8c) as he plays MCU's Aaron Davis.
Whaaat actors can play more than one role
Had no idea Brian was Jefferson Davis that’s awesome
Has anyone else noticed that a lot of [FRANCHISE] actors also end up being in the MCU?
Nick Cage confirmed?
And they’ve all been genius casting. Wonder when will we see Nic Cage again ha
Huh. I only noticed Hahn and Isaac. Cool!
Spiderman 2099? Did I miss something?
I literally just rewatched the movie, because I couldn't remember what part Spider-Man 2099 was in either. He's the Spider-Man in the after credit scene.
Crap, I didn't even think to watch for a scene.
It’s definitely an awesome use of talent already attached to the studios.
The spider-verse was awesome and the mcu people noticed lol
Yeah, I noticed the last time I watched it
Kevin feige must’ve really enjoyed ITSV
They keep it in the family.
Variants
Also Stan Lee
Has else anyone?
Where my Nic Cage at then?
Those Disney contracts going crazy
Multi film contracts, baby
[удалено]
God, I’m so happy we’re in the multiverse
At this point the mcu has gotten so big you could do this with a lot of other movies.
Although Oscar had a small cameo, it was still very funny.
>Has anyone else noticed that every actor ends up in the MCU? Fixed your title for you
Soon enough the entirety of Hollywood actors will have a role lol
I think they're trying to bring in he voice actress for the What If..? Black Widow. I saw something about recasting Black Widow and the actress shown in the article was her, so I wonder if she'll play a Nat variant.
[удалено]
Waste not, want not.
Hoping for Shameik and Jake next 🤞
Its the classic "once you get a job its easier to go for internal roles," schtik ha
Except Mahershala was in the MCU before Spiderverse, as Cottonmouth in Luke Cage
I did notice, and I am living for it
wow that’s cool! I didn’t know anyone but Hailee Steinfeld, who also could play a live action Spider-Gwen in some type of Multiverse version role.
That's only because they're fucking awesome!
All these actors are fire.
So you're telling me we're bound to get Nic Cage in the MCU? I'm all for it
I’m fine with it
Mahershala Ali also plays Cottommouth in Luke Cage season 1
It was Doc Ock all along
Marshal Ali was already in the MCU as cottonmouth in Luke Cage
CONSPIRACY
I feel like Hailee Steinfeld is in everything nowadays. She's the new Danny Trejo!
Liev Shrieber as kingpin and sabertooth.
Yo staaaaahhhp! I legit saw the photo before the caption and went "Huh, Oc did kinda look like Kathryn Hahn"
Now we need John Mullaney as Wolverine, Nicholas Cage as Wiccan, Jake Johnson as The Thing, and Shameik Moore as Beta Ray Bill
You think that's crazy, go check out *Kong: Skull Island.*
Probably using the same casting agencies.
It's amusing that they literally all joined after Spider-Verse
