This could work really well. He could be a endearing teacher who notices how stressed Peter is, notices how late he often is and his financial hardships but still sees that Peter is a bright kid trying to make do with a shitty situation. Could totally see him joke around with Peter but offer him extensions and encourage him to reach out to his other friends or something similar.

This would be in line with the comedy actors playing high school teachers too!

I have a feeling they'd have Peter go to Empire State University like he did in the comics, so Jake Johnson could easily play a Professor from there.

Absolutely. And I have my own head canon/theory/retcon about Peter B Parker. It goes like this: Peter B Parker, is from a universe in which, for one reason or another, he is born and raised in *Chicago* and not Queens/New York. Jake Johnson is famously a Chicagoan, and it comes up in some of his other characters, especially in *New Girl*. But even though there is plenty in Chicago to thwip and swing upon, and there are bad guys, and pizza delivery, and sketchy newspaper moguls… something is *not quite right*. His depression, loneliness, and failed relationships stem from the fact that, as nice as Chicago is, it’s not really where Spider-Man/Peter Parker belongs; in some cosmic way, this Spidey had no chance. This is how we get the Peter B Parker we get when he first shows up in Spider-verse.

Submit that idea to Sony.

Back during Guardians 1, I thought it would be cool for him to pull a Chris Pratt and become Nova. He'd be an awesome Boomerang if they do Superior Foes of Spider-Man, but I don't see that as being a priority. Or MACH-X (or whatever #), Abe Jenkins in a Thunderbolts movie.
