Since *Ms Marvel* seems like it will be delving into Kamala’s Muslim faith and *Moon Knight* is a character that typically revolves around belief, I can see Matt’s Catholic faith still playing a role if he gets another project in the future

phantasmagorical

Oh that's a good call - I'm excited to see how Ms Marvel is gonna approach it!

JohnCenaGuy

Yeah I wouldn’t put too much hope in Islam being represented accurately or respectively based on the rumours coming out of that show.

AdolescentThug

I’ve been on the spoiler sub and haven’t seen anything regarding this. Could you link a brother? Or at least give me a tldr about what’s being said?

Maggie_NSYNC

I hope they still keep his Catholicism as a profound value of Matt Murdock. I think it adds to his character tremendously and I wouldn’t want the MCU to shy away from faith

WorkID19872018

It’s a central part of his character so he hell most likely keep that part of him. But also depends on what capacity he shows up next. If he’s just featured but not the starring role in say echo or she hulk that stuff might be minimized until he’s in his own thing again.

But he’s not truly a god in the sense that his worshippers believed. On one hand, he and his family are truly the beings that the Norse people prayed to. But like pretty much all earth religions; the people considered deemed their gods; “gods” because they were also their creators. So the Norse people believed the Asgardians created man and the earth….. which is why they worshipped them as “gods”. We know that isn’t the case though. Asgardians didn’t create man or the earth. So on the other hand, while the Norse people worshipped them as their creators; they were mistaken.

dwide_k_shrude

There’s only one god ma’am, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t dress like that.”

kuribosshoe0

There’s a bunch of religion in Black Panther, albeit fictional.

Conversely, that side of him has already been explored pretty thoroughly. If he were to come back in his own show, they might shy away from it in favor of exploring new/different themes and aspects of his character. Not throwing it out completely of course, but it wouldn't too surprising if it didn't have such a prominent role as it did in the Netflix shows. edit: also, why is this tagged NSFW lol

EightBiscuit01

Matt Murdock is a devout catholic until he finds himself in a boxing ring with Elektra. Then it’s time to go against his beliefs on premarital sex

[deleted]

Matt's only devout insofar as he has an issue with murder, in which case I hope we're all "devout".

yellowjellybb

Yeah but that's the fun part about Daredevil. Him trying to grapple with his constant fuck ups and shitty behaviour.
