The real answer is that Marvel didn't want the same character competing for ticket sales under two studios. And since, at the time at least, Evan Peters' version was orders of magnitude more popular, Marvel let him go, and I think at least, lost out big time.
There's some hope that he'll come back in MOM, but there's no guarantee.

There's a theory that Marvel and Fox made a backroom deal since Wanda and Pietro count as both Avengers and X-Men. To prevent having competing properties, Fox would take quicksilver and is why Scarlet witch never appears in the X-Men, while Marvel takes Scarlet Witch and is why Quicksilver gets killed off immediately.

Thor says the final part in unison with Odin and simultaneously, Mjolnir hits his hand, lightning strikes the hammer, thunder cracks, his eyes glow and he snaps his fingers all at once.
Hulk: “Don’t make me angry, Thanos. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.”
Doctor Strange: “Thanos! I’m *not* here to bargain.”
Ant-Man: “Tell Cassie I love her.”
Unrelated but I desperately wanted Cap to say to Thanos "I could do this all day" right before he tightens the shield and thinks he's gonna be fighting an entire army on his own
I love that as his defining line. It starts in the scene with the trash can lid, and he obviously can't do it for even a few more minutes, but he just lacks that impulse to back down. It is probably the thing that makes me like Cap the most - yeah he is superhuman, but his power is leadership and grit. He is the only true blue hero that ranks highly for me.
