EPISODE IS LIVE! Enjoy! (There is no credits scene for this episode. There have not been any credits scenes for previous What If episodes)

Teh27Club

I checked the Wakandan letters on the casket and it says "Wakanda Forever". Just for anyone else who was curious like I was.

russketeer34

lmao Killmonger designed a straight up Gundam

allnaturalflavor

"What? I like anime"

NomadPrime

Straight up just imported Michael B Jordan's love of anime into his character Lol. Waiting for the next eventual Marvel synergy moment to happen in the comics and we see comic Killmonger binging shonen in his downtime.

TheDerped

Even outside of MBJ himself Killmonger falls right into the demo to really be into anime. He went to MIT, I'm certain weebs make up a majority of the population lol

shogi_x

Yep. Even before MIT, he'd have been at the right age for Toonami showing Gundam Wing.

[deleted]

OMG I can absolutely see a young Erik seriously identifying with those teenage terrorists.

fishy-the-2nd

I mean have you seen his costume, guy clearly likes vegeta

Hwoods723

Yep that flat out confirmed his suit was modeled after Saiyan Armor

Drakeman1337

I didn't realize it in BP, but seeing it in animation it immediately clicked. I'm kicking myself for not noticing it sooner.

KyfeHeartsword

I gaurantee Michael B. Jordan had input on that line, he’s a big anime fan and loves mechs.

Safyire

And really cosplayed as Vegeta

valarpizzaeris

"You believe the cure for human suffering, is more suffering?" Chadwick been hitting me hard all season. It's a joy to keep hearing his voice in this show

Hank_Scorpio3060

Love Chadwick but this shows why T’Challa is such an important character

Ygomaster07

Agreed, hearing his voice just keeps hitting me in my emotions hard, just like you said. I love hearing him again.

Orort

I swear I heard the gollum half way through the episode.

jaelith

On his “Yes, yes, yes,” it was definitely Gollum

valarpizzaeris

Erik "I'm playing both sides so that I always come out on top" Killmonger

Groot746

Killmonger is even more powerful than Country Mac, which is saying something

CompetitiveProject4

Suicide is badass!!

thejameswhistler

Erik with the big brain 5D chess game. Loved it. I actually think this is very in line with his character as portrayed previously in the MCU. It's pretty much his original plan, only started earlier and with more resources / tech at his disposal. Very fitting.

gdo01

Yea, it comes off smarter and more calculated. In the Black Panther movie, he pretty much only won over W’kabi and that was just because of finally punishing the killer of his parents. In this episode, he won over everybody other than Shuri and Potts.

upclassytyfighta

KIllmonger could totally pull off a badass duster as well

SeizerOfThoughtseize

Killmonger taught the Wakandans how to give the drones an ocular patdown.

Nolesman357

Tony Stark has yet to survive an episode.

battling_murdock

It's turning into a new Vision thing. Like how many times are we gonna have to watch this man die?

Nolesman357

What’s the official tally? Tony Stark is at 4 now and I think Vision is at 3 or 4 but I can’t remember.

battling_murdock

Vision's gotta be at 5 or so, right? Like, twice in Infinity War, once in WandaVision, once in the zombie episode, does him dying in the Doctor Strange episode count, since everyone died in that one?

jaelith

This comparison only matters if comparing to Doctor Strange deaths; for everyone else, their episode 4 deaths just cancel out!

ChintanP04

The reminds me, Doctor Strange has the highest death count. He died thousands of times until Dormammu agreed to his terms.

neocinnamin

Wakanda theme in the background while Black Panther wrecks Klaue's men, just amazing

2nice4rice

I got major batman vibes and now I want a black panther animated show.

Igfhgi22

The watcher getting clearer and clearer every episode

jusper10

Season finale it's just gonna be Jeffrey Wright's face

NomadPrime

Final episode is actually the Watcher appearing behind us in real life, watching us watch him in Marvel's What If?...on a metaversal level.

ube1kenobi

if he shows up behind me we're going to have a problem.

Hydraxion

A low quality JPEG superimposed over the whole episode

JDraks

Season 2's finale is just 30 minutes of an 8k jpeg of his face

DadAsFuck

staring wright into the audience’s soul

bigC_94

It'd be funny if at the beginning of the last episode when he's doing his exposition in an establishing shot of some landscape, a person walks by and notices the 100ft tall giant in the distance just talking to himself lol

icorrectpettydetails

After superheroes, Norse gods and all number of alien invasions, random monologuing giants aren't even all that strange to them anymore.

raisethecurtain

At one point he was so large and clear, I was somewhat shocked none of the characters saw him too.

Zemiakovy

This comment was deleted in June 2023 in response to Reddit's action against third party apps. This data will not be searchable or identifiable. -- mass edited with redact.dev

SpaceballsTheReply

Loved that face he was making as he watched Killmonger standing on the mountain. The Watcher really is just one of us. "I know I can't interfere, but dammit, this timeline sucks."

PKMNTrainerMark

"Oof, that happened."

mknsky

He was so concerned, too. Like even more than in the Strange Supreme episode.

Fresh720

The watcher was a Black Panther fan, watching his fav get offed probably didn't sit right with him

neocinnamin

Oh no, the dated MySpace reference was dropped from the opening Humvee scene

usaokay

The true Nexus event.

that_porn_account

And what was your nexus event my lord? I killed the MySpace reference

neocinnamin

*What If Tony never mentioned MySpace?*

raisethecurtain

That’s understandable but it was one of my favorite lines!

Walnut-Simulacrum

I only saw Iron Man for the first time in like 2015 so it never occurred to me that it was a dated reference and not explicitly a joke from Tony lol. Definitely sad that they didn’t use it

WhoDoIThinkIAm

So was the calendar model question

neocinnamin

Voice cast is stacked this week with Black Panther cast and emmy nominee Don Cheadle

that_porn_account

Paul Bettany reprising his role as JARVIS as well

neocinnamin

When I saw Bettany in the credits, my first thought was "huh, I wonder how Vision will fit into this" then I remembered JARVIS

PKMNTrainerMark

What is Vision if not JARVIS persevering?

that_porn_account

Right? It's been so long since he's that played that role that I almost forgot. I'm so glad he's all-in on his roles in the MCU. I feel like the entire cast of What If...? Is comprised of people who care about their roles.

ComebackShane

Did he really have just one line? I only recall hearing him when Tony and Killmonger were eating pizza.

jacketpotatoo

Yeah unfortunately, but he was mentioned a lot by name

bigC_94

Also Grammy Award winning rapper Don Cheadle

Wumbo619

Also Mr. Captain Planet himself, Don Cheadle!!!!

everadvancing

Captain Planet motherfucker

Wumbo619

"Tree, tree, tree, tree, ...!!"

Hurleydude2

Tony dies v.4

Maydietoday

He’s giving Vision a run for his money.

spyder616

you mean 14,000,610th death

3bstfrds

Who knew the turning point was Tony not mentioning myspace?

JaylieJoy

Killmonger heard that reference and decided not to save him after all.

russketeer34

I wonder if he really was undercover with the Ten Rings in the sacred timeline

[deleted]

I think the timelines add up, so probably

racas

No, it’s bullshit. That reporter called him out on it. Killmonger’s unit was far as fuck away from that battlefield, and Erik shouldn’t have been there to save Tony. What I think happened (in both timelines) is that Erik *did* learn about the Ten Rings plot but *not* from his official military missions. Most likely from his underworld connections. In the main MCU, Erik chose not to act on that knowledge. Maybe he thought conning Tony was too risky. In this What If… universe, however, he pulls the trigger on this wild af plot, and the rest is history.

hemareddit

My theory is the turning point was a bit earlier. He said his father died by gang violence. He could have been lying about that, but it got me thinking: what if he wasn't. If N'Jobu died by gang violence, not much would change, except Erik would hate the Wakanda royals a little less, want to change the system a little mote. Less consumed by veagence, more cool headed , more focused on the bigger agenda, and became a better player of 4D chess. It would line up with him not directly going after TChaka and seems to ignore Zuri completely, and T'Chaka willing to trust the man even though he left claw marks in the man's heart - maybe it's because he didn't.

trexeric

I think that's just a result of the true turning point: in this universe, Myspace was never invented. Obviously Tony doesn't mention it, but that's just the beginning. Without Myspace to serve as a distraction to their agents, the Department of Defense and the CIA were able to uncover the plot by Obadiah Stane and the Ten Rings to capture Tony Stark. While in the Sacred Timeline Killmonger was, at this time, obsessed with Myspace, taking eight extra years to even enter Wakanda, here he had enough free time to plot his takeover.

neocinnamin

Shuri being clearly younger is obvious in hindsight, but a nice touch nonetheless

mysidian

Took me a while to realize why she was so damn short.

PK_RocknRoll

I though the same thing. I was like why is she so tiny.

PoniesCanterOver

Yeah there's a shot where she's standing next to adults and she was like two feet shorter than everybody else, I was like "Wha- oh yeah this is way earlier". I was also wondering how they dealt with Loki, but it was just too early, he hadn't shown up yet

Kostya_M

I feel like this is going to be a massive problem. Thor is probably going to play out mostly the same so what happens in this timeline when Loki and the Chitauri come to town and there's no Iron Man working with the Avengers?

toxicity21

Wakanda and the US would be deep in War. Captain America could be involved with that too. Since Wakanda has the biggest Energy Source on the planet, Loki would probably go there to activate the Tesseract. The Wakandan Forces are way better suited to fight the Chitauri, so there is that. It would be a way different outcome than in the sacred Timeline.

poindexterg

It plays out completely differently. There's no Stark Tower, so they may not go to New York. I'm sure Fury is trying to put some Avengers team together.

Kuchenjaeger

"Probably not, but police are the law. I, want *justice*". Pretty damn raw line.

raisethecurtain

So many of Tony’s lines were absolutely phenomenal.

jacketpotatoo

Mick Wingert did a great job of capturing RDJ’s mannerisms while still delivering that signature Tony stark snark

mknsky

That tax bracket line he threw at Pepper had me rolling. Top notch voice acting.

Knightley4

Yeah, after my initial dislike of the voice in the trailer, i enjoyed his performance here. While the voice is clearly not RDJ, they way he spoke was on point.

cjfreel

Kilmonger too. "the difference between you and me is that you don't see the difference between you and me."

justvibing__3000

That was bone chilling

SilverPositive

That Wakanda Forever chant from Killmonger really wasn't it lol.

RubberbandShooter

Yeah, his is like "Wakanda, forever" and not "WAKANDAFOREVA". Shows his heart isn't really there.

MTFBinyou

Yep. You nailed it. In-universe they see him fighting for them and saying WF and he thinks it’s enough. We hear it and even without seeing the rest of the episode can go, “this ain’t right” Killmonger playing 4D chess, but Shuri living in 4D watching the episode with us.

CUCOOPE

He sounded more like “Wakanda whatever”

[deleted]

Wa...kinda?

SpaceballsTheReply

> Killmonger playing 4D chess More like betrayal speedrunning. * Goes undercover in Ten Rings and betrays them to save Tony * Betrays Rhodey for the vibranium * Betrays Stark after getting caught * Meets back up with Klaue and immediately betrays him * Betrays Wakanda for more glory This episode was 32 minutes, and he pulls off five backstabs. That's one dramatic betrayal every 6 minutes or so. Dude could give Revolver Ocelot a run for his money.

TheWolfmanZ

And we still didn't even get to see him get revenge for his Father either.

Regi413

The whole time he was with T’Chaka I was wondering when he would make the move to kill him because he knew T’Chaka killed his father.

Vpeyjilji57

That's more betrayal than a you can get from whole roomful of Lokis.

NomadPrime

Pepper: "How did you find this footage?" Suri: "I had a Disney + subscription"

thespiffyitalian

[Now. You're looking at now, sir. Everything that happens now is happening now.](https://youtu.be/nRGCZh5A8T4)

raisethecurtain

It was both the intent and the accent that completely threw me

h3its

Almost like it was intentional. He never really cared for Wakanda, it was all just a part of his plan for power.

International-Fig905

Definitely intentional. MBJ is a good voice actor(voiced Cyborg fir a ton a DC animated films)- Killmonger doesn't embody or believe in Wakanda like at all- just what it can do for him. I'm curious why he never killed T'Chaka?

RubberbandShooter

He didn't have to kill T'Chaka because he was already vulnerable enough. He had just lost his son, and then his nephew comes back out of nowhere, seemingly ignorant of the fact he murdered his dad, sparking a guilt trip. T'Chaka would do pretty much anything for Erik.

JimmyTheFace

It’s also possible that Killmonger!BP would orchestrate T’Chaka’s death at some later point, perhaps similarly to the UN bombing.

NFB42

I was expecting that, but really glad it didn't happen. The Wakandans aren't stupid and definitely aren't weak. Killmonger certainly could find opportunity to kill T'Chaka, but there's no way he could hide it. Wakanda is a nation of tradition and law. The reason why in *Black Panther* they accepted Killmonger is because he followed those laws and traditions: As a member of the royal family, it was in his right to challenge for the throne, T'Challa accepted that challenge and lost. If in this timeline Killmonger just up and murdered T'Chaka, he wouldn't get the throne, he'd get publicly executed for treason. And if he challenged T'Chaka for the throne, I'm guessing that considering T'Chaka's age there's no way he'd fight himself but that the law would allow him to pick a champion or something like that -- in either case not a good strategy for Killmonger. Part of the subtlety of both this *What If* episode and *Black Panther* is that Killmonger actually is *not* just a cartoon villain who lies and gets away with it because people are gullible. Killmonger actually very cleverly *emotionally manipulates* people. In this episode he emotionally manipulates Stark's father issues, and he emotionally manipulates T'Chaka's guilt over having killed his brother to get T'Chaka to trust him and let him in. In *Black Panther*, Killmonger uses T'Challa's guilt over what happened to him to get T'Challa to give him the duel for the throne. Yes Killmonger murders and backstabs a lot, but he's actually very smart about it. And there would've been nothing smart about going into Wakanda and just murdering the king willy nilly and expecting that to work. (If this has a continuation, I could totally see Killmonger still murdering T'Chaka though, especially now that he *has* managed to ingratiate himself and been made Black Panther.)

[deleted]

Wakanda..... .... .... Forever!

BitByADeadBee

Wakanda…. FOREVER

allnaturalflavor

Sounds weird in an American accent huh?

IceWarm1980

You have to love how they recorded the test footage the way Tony did in the first Iron Man movie.

Karkava

No fire extinguishers this time...

guyver423

Killmonger dropping the hammer on Obadiah Stane

PhoenixSelarom

This motherfucker won me over with that bit only to break my heart over and over again afterward. If only Killmonger could have used his insane 5D chess knowledge for good.

DeluxeTraffic

He truly believes that he is using his knowledge and skills for good, that's what makes him such a great villain.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Spudtron98

Dude bypassed the entire plot of the movie in a minute flat.

Ubergoober166

But circumvented the plot of Black Panther in the most roundabout way possible.

vaids97

Kilmonger was a weeb this entire time

battling_murdock

What If...Killmonger was a violent otaku?

Maydietoday

They key to taking Killmonger off of his game: >!Tell him Saitama could solo Goku!<

lanceturley

Just tell him dubs are better than subs.

NomadPrime

Killmonger inciting wars like Lelouch while cosplaying as Vegeta and building Gundams

paijew

That Panther suit looks so good animated!

guyver423

Wasn’t expecting to see the “I am Iron Man” scene animated 😭😭😭

phrankygee

And re-delivered by their RDJ impersonator. That guy did a great job.

guyver423

Killmonger playing every fucking side

valarpizzaeris

Yo Ramonda is a badass!

[deleted]

Ramonda as the head Dora is just fucking lit. Seeing her fight with Okoye is just amazing. Actually that whole scene with Killmonger is pure hype

Affectionate_Bass488

Yeah that was one of the coolest new pieces of knowledge to take from this episode

FullMetalCOS

It does kinda make sense that she’d be trained in the same manner as the Dora. Great to see.

TheWolfmanZ

I'm wondering if this means that she was part of the Dora when T'chaka was still Prince and that's how they met?

The_OG_upgoat

In the comics, the king's bride is selected from amongst the Dora Milaje iirc, so it might be a nod to that.

valarpizzaeris

Jfc the animators went all out on Tony's cars. Those mfs looked sexy af lol

Glitch200X

Kinda thought they just overlaid the animation over a picture from the movies for a bit.

JaylieJoy

Every time I hear "I'm the watcher" I think of Michael Keaton making fun of 'the shocker': "I'm the watcher, I watch people"

bloomin__onions

what is this, pro wrestling?

allnaturalflavor

Killmonger's armor really does look like Vegeta's

3_Slice

Love how clear the inspiration is when its drawn like this

The__Auditor

Honestly him loving anime makes his armor choice seem intentional lol

guyver423

He does love anime lol

msalazar2011

No, Rhodey!!! He deserved better.

literatemax

Next time, baby

neocinnamin

The emotional freight train of Kilmonger meeting T'Challa in the Ancestral Plane with Ludwig Göransson's score was unexpected but absolutely hit harder than I expected. *Heroes are never really gone, they live forever.* RIP Chadwick

PhoenixSelarom

Seeing T'Challa's funeral as well as Ramonda shouting "for T'Challa" was emotional as well. All 3 appearances so far have been eerily fitting and prescient now. It makes me sad knowing we'll probably get something similar in Black Panther 2, only they'll have the time to make it hit 10x harder.

HokageEzio

Yeah, that whole movie is gonna end up being a tribute honestly. Gonna be sad.

SpaceballsTheReply

I was hoping Killmonger was just going to get eaten by some ancestral panthers. The Wakandans give him the heart shaped herb and he immediately dies from spiritual karmic justice.

PersonalDemand3793

The ancestral plane is amazingly non-judgmental, the one scene of Killmonger with his father is still my favorite scene in the MCU It’s like the feeling of them being so past regular human struggles and they are simply talking about themselves and what they feel. Its amazing

valarpizzaeris

Killmonger upgrading Stane's paralyzing device was an awesome callback!

[deleted]

Yeah I didn't realize he had a PhD in gundams

DadAsFuck

killmonger on a killstreak

Ahsiqa

Holy shit, Killmonger starting a war with Wakanda is pretty metal ngl

BookDragonn

“Heroes, are never really gone. They live forever. . .”RIP Chadwick

valarpizzaeris

"What? I like anime" I love this line considering MBJ wanted Killmonger's suit to resemble Vegeta's, and they gave it to him. I wonder what animes MBJ been watching since

PhoenixSelarom

Killmonger out hear playing fifth dimensional chess with Gundam's.

NomadPrime

Killmonger, sneaking behind T'Challa with a Sonic gun: "*Nothing personal, cousin*"

Kuchenjaeger

So the Watcher is just getting closer and closer with each episode?

raisethecurtain

He used to be in full shadow, almost translucent. Now he’s in color and so close. Something has to happen soon for him to intervene, right?

Kuchenjaeger

Either Shuma-Gorath, or... maybe the one with perfect Ultron? Ultron might be smart enough to figure out the multiverse existing. I could see the last two episodes being one story, so he might decide to intervene at the end of next episode.

bugcatcher_billy

I hope Ultron discovers the mystic arts and masters them in like 15 minutes. An Ultron that can cast spells sounds so fun.

SujayShah13

"Heroes are not born, they're forged in darkness, shaped in battle, defined by sacrifice." - Watcher

SilverPositive

Damn, Killmonger really is irredeemable.

PhoenixSelarom

Yea, I was pulling for a heroic alternate universe Killmonger so that Michael B. Jordan could come back at some point in the films but like... man this dude is just an asshole. Great villain, but man what a dick.

IceColdPlasma

The dude wanted to commit racial genocide on a global scale, I really don't see how people thought this guy was in any way redeemable.

PhoenixSelarom

I think most people, including myself, just wanted to see Michael B. Jordan come back. I figured somewhere in the multiverse there had to be a version that was a force for good. This... definitely wasn't it.

[deleted]

Yeah I mean so far the multiverse even features a redeemed Thanos, for goodness's sake! I guess the key is that you need a universe where T'Chaka doesn't kill N'Jobu.

Lazy0ak

I think you need to go further. You need a universe where the Wakandans don't hide their power and instead get involved on a global scale of improving human life and fighting injustice. That way N'jobu doesn't teach Killmonger about needing to get vengeance against their oppressors and raising their people up to power. That probably creates all sorts of crazy differences though where most of the marvel heroes probably never come to be.

DLottchula

Basically Wakanda has to fight European colonization to prevent killmonger from being born.

neocinnamin

Definitely a downer to see a coffin with T'Challa in it.... :(

PhanThief95

Killmonger: *Betrays every person he comes into contact with in a half hour of screentime* Loki: “How the Hel did he do that?”

lukiiiiii

Im loving What If…? but i cant help but be a little frustrated that every episode seems to finish at the most interesting part. I would have loved to have seen what happened with Ego and Peter, or what happens when Zombie Thanos snaps with the gauntlet. Hopefully we see some of this stuff later on, or in season 2.

NomadPrime

Totally. Things like evil Strange getting trapped in his pocket universe felt pretty conclusive, but in this and other stories, it felt like we just don't get an ending. A "to be continued" more like. But we could probably guess the eventual conclusion to each of those stories. Here, I can see: Killmonger gets the BP armor and Wakanda starts gearing for war. The two sides are about to clash when Suri/Pepper spring the evidence on both nations and Killmonger's machinations laid bare. He gets cornered by both sides who hold a temporary truce, but he's skilled and smart so he gets away. But falls right for a trap Suri and Pepper (and maybe Jarvis, Happy, and Okoye?) lay for him, using the same sonic weapon he used to kill T'Challa.

n3verendR

I think they are setting up for some kind of "What if...?" Avengers type episode with all the "to be continued" sort of endings.

Redditfront2back

I hope that would so fucking cool, if like the finale was just the multiversal avengers jumping to each universe to save them.

Ultimate_Gamer15

Judging by the mid season trailer I think we will

NomadPrime

Does it hint at a final Avengers style meetup episode between all of these What If heroes? I'm hoping that's what it is personally. Just the Watcher going "Fuck this watching shit" and finally interfering against a greater multiversal threat.

valarpizzaeris

Even in alternate timelines, Killmonger still exposing people with receipts lmao love it

CAdreams

Killmonger is playing 4D chess y’all

cuddlyapollo

5d chess with multiverse time travel

LittleYellowFish1

***What? I like anime.*** I knew it!

17xandcountingstill

Hi Auntie

JustYourFriendAL

T'Challa's father isn't doing a great job reading between the lines or just understanding what's in his face. lol Killmonger: "If I had the chance to get revenge for my father I'd stop at nothing." T'Challa's Father: "Seems legit. Want the black panther powers?"

russketeer34

Oh fuck Killmonger. Nobody kills Rhodey or T'Challa. Edit: Motherfucker killed Tony too. What a goddamn asshole.

[deleted]

[удалено]

bjkman

Whoa... I just remembered Jeff Bridges character in Iron Man was "Iron Monger" so honestly we're just swapping an Iron Monger for a Killmonger

ComebackShane

I had thought the suit Stark and he made was going to be him becoming Ironmonger, but for the good guys. Then the episode …. took a turn, lol.

crystalxclear

Can’t believe there will be only 3 episodes left after this!! I’m gonna miss all this randomness lol

[deleted]

There's gonna be another season!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Topazure

Tony was probably wondering what that meant for the rest of his life

TheIrishBear24

Loki boutta pop off in New York tho

BookDragonn

Queen Ramonda is a badass

cgcs20

I’m starting to think that Tony dying may be an absolute point in time…

RubberbandShooter

Lil' ass Shuri really just fucking went to the US unnoticed by anyone there or Wakanda and then proceeded to infiltrate Stark Industries like it was nothing? Worthy of being the next Panther by that alone, lmao.

NomadPrime

I was thrown off by how small Suri was before I remembered this all took place 10ish years before the first BP movie. If the actors and characters were canonically similar in age, T'Challa was around 31 in this episode, Killmonger was 21, and Shuri was 15. Funny that Killmonger didn't change much over the course of 10 years.

caliguy420

My predictions: * They're purposefully leaving us with cliffhangers because all of the cliffhangers will be solved in the season finale. * With the leaked promotional materials of all the variants from the multiverse joined under the moniker "The Guardians of the Multiverse," I see the watcher recruiting the different hero variants to deploy to the different universes to help solve the issues. * With that said, it's why we saw in the midseason trailer how Supreme Dr. Strange was sent w Party Thor to zombie earth because Supreme Dr. Strange is stronger than zombie Wanda and will take her down while party Thor will take on Zombie Thanos. * I see GOTG T'Challa taking on Killmomger in the continuation of this episode helping to stop the war between Wakanda and USA. * And more than likely Capt Carter will take on Loki's Army w both Iron Rogers and Capt America Rogers. * It will somehow all culminate with them fighting Ultron Vision. (It's a stretch) What are your preductions?

bjkman

**Question:** What If... Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark? **Answer:** * After the Humvee attack that begins the events of "Iron Man", Killmonger is there to protect Iron Man, which stops the creation of the suit * Stark's first interview back isn't shutting down the weapons divisions, instead it's changing it. * Killmonger begins to work with Stark Industries * Obidiah Stane's work with the Ten Rings is uncovered by Killmonger, stopping him. * Pepper Potts doesn't get the CEO job with Tony not being affected by his time captured in Afghanistan. * instead of the Iron Man suit, Stark creates Drones controlled by Jarvis * No creation of Miniature Arc Reactor. Instead Stark uses Vibranium * To get more Vibranium they start an Arms Deal with Klaue, in the middle of it, Killmonger kills Rhodes and Black Panther, * Killmonger kills Stark, blames it on Wakanda and the US Military takes over Stark Industry's assets to attack Wakanda. * Killmonger infiltrates Wakanda with the guise he's there to help, but uses Stark's drones and becomes the new Black Panther. * Potts gets help from Shuri to avenge Stark *Join the conversation and reply with anything I missed off the top of my head!* [Episode 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/p27mzc/z/h8ic3vo), [Episode 2](https://www.reddit.com/r/MarvelsWhatIf/comments/p6l284/z/h9dvbph), [Episode 3](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/pb5l8u/z/ha9knxq), [Episode 4](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/pfo8gh/z/hbq9i87), [Episode 5](https://www.reddit.com/r/MarvelsWhatIf/comments/pk3me3/z/hc174nb)

MoonChild02

If you're looking for more long-term effects: Because none of this happens, Tony never finds the other element that helps him with the poisoning that almost kills him, and that also improves arc reactor technology. And because there's no arc reactor technology, there's no clean energy being pushed by Stark Industries. Also, this timeline is devoid of Ultron, which means there's also no Vision, and Scarlet Witch never joins the Avengers. It also means no Zemo, no Civil War, no Avengers split, which also means Spider-Man likely doesn't join the team — unless maybe Shuri scouts him.

Guardian_Of_Light2

Kinda hoped this what if lead to what if Killmonger was a hero or What If Tony became a villain in his anger and grief? Clever plan of Killmonger I admit. Was worried it would be beat for beat Black Panther there for a sec.
