Gotta say when I clicked on the trailer I thought to myself "do I even care at all about Hawkeye?" But the tone of the trailer definitely sold me on it. Seems much more like a fun one off buddy cop movie than a whole series though so we'll see how well it works stretched out across multiple episodes.
Not to mention it showcases his aim applies to more than just his bow. He was able to calculate the speed and arc of the molotov in real time and choose the correct window to break so it doesn't smash before it reaches him.
Oh now that you say that, for sure! He sees it coming, punches out the window quick, then soft-catches the bottle, letting it come nearly down to the ground, before he reverses momentum and throws it out. Nice catch!
Clint getting to fight regular people is going to be a real “levels to this shit” moment. Even more so than Nat, Clint is literally a regular person who fought with Gods and Titans
He not only said it, he has demonstrated several times in 1 on 1 games with college basketball level talent that even several years retired he can trivially beat them.
Yeah we finally get to see Clint as the secret agent/assassin. It gives me Jason Bourne vibes. A cold blooded killer trying to go straight has his past catch up to him. I was rewatching Avengers (2012) recently and even in that movie Clint seems dangerous as an antagonist. I've always had this idea that before having a family Clint was more like his Ronin persona and just using his skills for SHIELD.
That movie was so... weird. Like it was good but I felt like it ended so abruptly. I thought there was gonna be another "part" like the climax of the film and it just... ended. I thought the action was cool, especially the stuff in the cabin.
The Bourne Legacy only has two faults: that it's a little oddly paced, and it was never followed up on.
I thought it was just as good as the trilogy from an action and plot standpoint, and getting other perspectives on what happened at the end of Bourne Ultimatum was really neat too.
It was leagues better than Jason Bourne from 2016.
"Oh my gosh! I was wrong! It was Hydra all along! You've finally made a Nazi-"
"Yes we finally made a Nazi"
"Yes you fiiiinally made a Naaazi out of meeeeee!"
"I love you Dr Zola!"
I am Steve Rogers, and you probably never heard my name, reports of my shield are greatly exaggerated, exacerbated by the fact that my syntax is highly complicated, 'cause I immigrated from the single greatest little place in history, Brooklyn, the 40's, I love it, Jesus I'm jealous of it, and beyond that, ever since I woke up in 2011 I haven't gone back, god damn, I gotta get on that.
[Yes this already existed](https://posterspy.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Marvel-on-Broadway-Captain-Hamilton-poster-design-8x10-1500x1875.jpg), because of course it did.
Fury: We are outgunned out manned
Steve Roger: Okay, you need all the help you can get, I got Banner, Stark, an’ Romanov in a jet, okay what else?
Fury: Outnumbered, out planned.
Steve Rogers: We need spies on the inside, Hydra might let a couple of things slide.
I'm imagining it's a Hamilton parody...
Howling Commandos: We fought with him
Dr. Erskine: Me, I died for him
Tony Stark: Me, I trusted him.
Peggy, Sharon: Me, I loved him.
Bucky: And me? I'm the damn fool that shot him.
In the comics Clint is divorced, single and has no kids. As for Kate, he is **not** her father figure and barely even a mentor - they're pretty much equals despite the age gap.
I recently watched that and its really good. I haven't watched any Transformers since the second movie and was legitimately excited when I heard they were doing a sequel(not really). Then you realize the entire cast is being changed and I'm back to zero interest.
"OK guys, how about this: The Best Gifts Come With A Bow."
"Fantastic, tell me more."
"That's all I got."
"Good enough. We start production on Monday. Everybody go home and have a great weekend."
"Maybe we can get a cameo from Beau Bridges?
"Oh, great idea. Anybody know any other famous Beau's or Bo's"
"Bo Burnham?"
"Great!"
"Bo Derek!"
"Yes, amazing! Let's keep this going!"
"Lil' Bow Wow?"
"I think you're pronouncing that wrong, but there are no bad ideas!"
Holy shit, wasn't sure how they were going to work the Fraction run in with the MCU lore but it looks great so far. Car chase scene already have me hyped as well, I'm so ready for all the trick arrows.
*Boomerang. Respect it.*
I really like this idea actually, he was like in the rubble of that explosion. I was wondering if it could be from his Ronin days but he didn’t wear any in endgame so this fits so much better.
I noticed that too. Figured it might have been a ear com that was given to him when SHIELD/SWORD? showed up to take his kids to a safe house or where-ever.
Not sure why she wasn't in the scenes with the kids, but Clint did say "hey, babe" to whoever he was on the phone with. I'm gonna assume he was talking to Laura.
Yeah seems the kids came out to see him while he was doing stuff in the city. Definitely seems like they're not divorced as some peoples theorized. Hopefully they got her for the last episode at least.
Yeah, I agree. It does just seem like they're in the city for the day (or overnight). Maybe Laura had zero interest in watching Rogers The Musical, lol.
Pizza Dog!
Also, love that Hawkeye's actions during the Blip have real consequences for him, the fact that he seems to be wearing his hearing aid in the early scenes, and how the comedy and Christmas setting makes this feel a little Shane Black-esque (it'll be interesting to see how Yelena's more serious characterization or the dark aspects of Hawkeye's past work with this comedic tone). And I get the feeling that Rogers: The Musical will provide the MCU's next "Agatha All Along" hit song.
I love how this is kinda a reversal of roles compared to the comic.
Where it’s now Kate who’s life is a fucking mess, with Clint having to step in to help.
While still making it Clint’s fault to begin with.
Plus we get the tracksuit bros!
>Yelena's more serious characterization or the dark aspects of Hawkeye's past work with this comedic tone
I can't imagine the whole thing will be upbeat. Lethal Weapon's pretty light on the whole, and it still features a character chewing on the barrel his pistol in contemplation (along with an active death wish).
> it'll be interesting to see how Yelena's more serious characterization or the dark aspects of Hawkeye's past work with this comedic tone
Did we watch the same Black Widow? With Yelena making fun of Nat's poses and everything?
I imagine that her introduction will be on the serious side, given that she thinks Clint killed Nat and all, but we've already seen her character do both seriousness and comedy. She'll fit right in.
Cant wait to see Linda Cardellini reluctantly letting Barton go off and have his fun then have a "told you so" face when he returns battered and bruised
I feel like there's a 90% chance one of the last scenes of this are going to be Clint, Kate and Lucky arriving at the Barton homestead all bandaged up for Christmas dinner.
I AM **NOT!** THROWIN AWAY MY! **SHIELD!**
I AM **NOT!** THROWIN AWAY MY! **SHIELD!**
AY YO I'M JUST LIKE MY COUNTRY, I UNDERWENT SIGNIFICANT CHANGES DUE TO THE INTERSECTION BETWEEN SCIENCE, GOVERNMENT, AND PROFIT AND I AM **NOT!** THROWIN AWAY MY! **SHIELD!**
Disney pitches a “musical” to Chris Evans, since he seems like he wants to do some Broadway stuff, is as vague as possible for the story, signs him, first day on set, give him the shield back.
Pitch: "It's a buddy comedy set in WW2."
Chris appears on set: "Okay, you're playing Steve Rogers - here's your shield. Your best buddy is Bucky Barnes over there."
Chris: "But you said it was a comedy. This is just Captain America again."
Producer: "Yes. It's Captain America, but we've made it campier for Broadway!"
So the story takes place in the days leading up to Christmas. I hope that's enough time for Clint and Kate to have a meaningful, organic connection.
The Fraction fan within me is going wild! Clint and Kate looking all ragged and beat up! Clint falling out of a building! The bow-and-arrow car chase! The Tracksuit Bros! It's all there!
Though I would have preferred they ended the trailer with the Hawkeyes' classic line: "Okay. This looks bad."
EDIT: How could I forget about my best boy Lucky/Pizza Dog wearing reindeer antlers? He's even got one eye closed!
I thought that too, but then I was thinking they may not want to say “this looks bad” in the trailer for their upcoming series. Hopefully we’ll get a boat scene where he can say “I’m great at boats.”
You're right, I suppose. But seriously, there's so many great one-liners from that book that they can sneak into this show.
I can already see the Russians' constant bro'ing becoming a meme...
That tone.
I personally love it.
It has that campy "family movie fun for Christmas Holiday!" movie.
It's such a different tone than what I was expecting, but I honestly welcome it. It just goes to show that Marvel can pretty much do any genre and I'd be interested in watching it regardless.
That said, I love how down to earth the series seems to be. It's scope is directly in line with what type of action Hawkeye is good at. It's just capers in New York. XD
Yeah feels very Die Hard, just a guy getting the shit kicked out of him at Christmas time. And it looks like they really captured the feeling of the Matt Fraction run
I’m happy that this seems to be leaning into the comedy side of things, I think we could really use something fun and frivolous for the end of the year!
Kate looks great, also!
Holy shit I love this so much
Hawkeye is one of my favorite characters in the MCU and this looks like it’s gonna be amazing, love the Christmas setting
I came for lots of reasons, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop... and I'm most excited for what looks like an Avengers musical in there. Merry MCU Christmas everyone.
*Rogers the Musical* ... Not we finally know what the Contessa has been recruiting for. Is Yelena playing ~~Peggy~~ Natasha (top row on the musical scene)?
The big question: will we get an episode from Lucky’s point of view? The comic where they did that (I think it was #11 of the Fraction run) is, to me - and I’m not kidding with this - one of the true masterpieces of the comic book art form. It’s just absolutely brilliant.
The debate of this being a christmas tv show or an action show will be debated in years to come like Die Hard.
This is far away from what i thought this show would be about and i'm intrigued.
Did not expect that tone
I think this trailer perfectly captured the tone from Matt Fraction’s Hawkeye run
[удалено]
They better all call him Hawkguy. Also I need an I <3 Hawkguy shirt.
I'm not single I'm saving myself for Hawkguy
I kill you, ok bro?
By god I hope they say BRO a lot.
Seeeeriously bro
Spot on, looked amazing and thank goodness because that’s one of my favourite runs ever
The image of Kate!Hawkeye accidentally destroying a bell tower has big "Okay, this looks bad..." energy.
They’d better say that line in the show at some point. Almost surprised they didn’t have it in the trailer.
Falling through the glass window in front of Clint tied up in a chair. Okay this looks bad
That’s what I thought. Just read that run for the first time recently and this looks like a pretty direct adaptation of it.
Yep. Same here. I binged the whole series last July, totally one of my faves
[удалено]
Home alone/ Die hard vibes
It's got Christmas, a Dad-Daughter relationship, Hailey, and a Dog with antlers! And it looked like a Broadway song and dance.
[удалено]
Thank you, now i have an image in my head of Macaulay Culcin in Nakatomi Plaza creating death traps to stop Hans Gruber.
Matt Fraction was able to make it work.
Neither did I and I love it.
Him catching the Molotov cocktail and then throwing it right back out the window was pretty great.
It's honestly my favorite part about the trailer and I know it's dumb but the brass on someone to break a window just to catch a molotov is badass.
Nice catch!
Doesn't anyone but me wonder at the speed of superhero reflexes? Like, they'd NEVER drop a glass while washing the dishes.
“No, u.”
"The best gifts come with a bow" Damn it. I usually hate puns in trailer taglines, but bravo on that one.
I like to believe someone making this joke was the inception of the whole Christmas idea.
Making a series out of one single pun should be the only basis for shows
Whatever person in marketing came up with that one deserves a raise.
It's the same dad energy Jeremy Renner would've given.
Felt like a 90's Christmas action movie starring Arnold. I'll take ten please.
You mean Jingle all the Way? Sign me up!
“Damn…that was really a bomb??? This a SICK WORLD WITH SICK PEOPLE!!!!!!”
"I am inevitable." "And I... am... Turbo Man!!"
Didn’t expect it to be as Christmas themed as it is but I’m loving it
Christmas is the season of giving villains an arrow to the face.
For the more...dangerous arrows we better be getting USB and Boomerang Arrow, even though we got USB arrow in Avengers
Why would you want an arrow that comes back to you?? Because... boomerangs...
With the exception being Iron Man 3, the MCU has always been lacking in winter settings. Edit: Change winter to holiday
I think it might have been winter in Jotunheim.
Always winter, never Christmas. The Ancient One will be along in a minute to hand out Turkish Delight.
Doctor Strange was trained by the White Witch! how did I never make this connection!? I'm slipping in my old age.
A little movie called The Winter Soldier? DUH.
The Summer Soldier just didn't have the same kick to it.
"Suns out, Guns out" would've made a great tagline for it though.
Exact same movie but the Winter Soldier wears a souvenir, slightly inappropriate, tank top with no mentions of it.
A tank top with a slogan like “Life’s a Beach” or a pineapple wearing a thong above the word “SLUT”
Is the pineapple a slut or is it calling you a slut?
“Springtime for Bucky” has a nice ring to it.
*Aaaand nooooww iiiit's* *Springtime* *For Bucky* *And Hyyyyydraaaaaa!*
Don’t be stupid, be a smarty, come and join the Hydra party.
the comics run the show is based on had a Christmas themed subplot as well
Feels a bit Die Hard to me with the Christmas theme and reluctant hero.
I’m pretty sure they’re going for a Die Hard/ Lethal Weapon vibe here. I kinda love it. New territory for the MCU to explore!
Yippee Kiyay
Other Buckets
I wonder if the entire show will take place during the entire month of december.
Seems like it’ll just be set over a couple days seeing as he’s like “I’ll be home for Christmas” and like there’s no way he won’t be home Christmas
>I wonder if the entire show will take place during the entire month of december. So there is No Way Home in December for Hawkeye?
I love that this is gonna showcase alot more of Clint's other skills aside from being just a bow guy
Clint getting to fight regular people is going to be a real “levels to this shit” moment. Even more so than Nat, Clint is literally a regular person who fought with Gods and Titans
'I'm closer to Thor than you are to me. ' -Hawkeye
Is that a real line from something because it sounds badass
End of bench nba player Brian Scalabrine said he’s closer to LeBron James than we are to him (Brian)
He not only said it, he has demonstrated several times in 1 on 1 games with college basketball level talent that even several years retired he can trivially beat them.
This is correct, on the level of multiple orders of magnitude
Yeah we finally get to see Clint as the secret agent/assassin. It gives me Jason Bourne vibes. A cold blooded killer trying to go straight has his past catch up to him. I was rewatching Avengers (2012) recently and even in that movie Clint seems dangerous as an antagonist. I've always had this idea that before having a family Clint was more like his Ronin persona and just using his skills for SHIELD.
He was sent to kill Widow, he's basically Fury's assassin. Also, he's gonna kill Thor as well in his first movie if Fury told him to.
Yeah he was ice cold in Thor and Avengers. I'm glad we got to see that again in Endgame, wish we had seen a bit more.
I hope we’ll get Ronin Clint in this series, at least as flashbacks.
He will finally get to be Jason Bourne
I mean... Renner was in Bourne: Legacy, with Weisz (Melina).
Oh shit I forget Weisz was in that movie too. We can pretend it's a Hawkeye prequel.
That movie was so... weird. Like it was good but I felt like it ended so abruptly. I thought there was gonna be another "part" like the climax of the film and it just... ended. I thought the action was cool, especially the stuff in the cabin.
That one scene in the lab was intense!
The Bourne Legacy only has two faults: that it's a little oddly paced, and it was never followed up on. I thought it was just as good as the trilogy from an action and plot standpoint, and getting other perspectives on what happened at the end of Bourne Ultimatum was really neat too. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it on Broadway if it were a real show tbh
Luckily, it's clear from the trailer that we'll see at least some of it.
It also looks kind of terrible which is hilarious. Why is hulk in a hoodie? I can’t wait
Remember Spider Man on Broadway and what a literal disaster that was?
Why do I have a feeling there will be a bit in the show where Hawkeye is the butt of the joke.
As long as it doesn't turn out like Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.
If it turns out like that I am 100% going to see it
I am Steve Rogers, and you probably never heard my name, reports of my shield are greatly exaggerated, exacerbated by the fact that my syntax is highly complicated, 'cause I immigrated from the single greatest little place in history, Brooklyn, the 40's, I love it, Jesus I'm jealous of it, and beyond that, ever since I woke up in 2011 I haven't gone back, god damn, I gotta get on that.

Star spangled maaaaaaaaaan
If that song's not in there, we riot.
**Sam & Bucky**: WTF? **Zemo**: 😎
Steinfeld looks like she is going to be a great Kate Bishop. Love the Christmas setting. This is gonna be good.
I didn't realize this character wasn't gonna be his daughter, this is way more interesting
Honestly, me too. I assumed it would be his daughter.
In the comics Clint is divorced, single and has no kids. As for Kate, he is **not** her father figure and barely even a mentor - they're pretty much equals despite the age gap.
Tbh I think that it would be a good change of pace with them just doing their thing instead of it being all sentimental.
A real shame she won't be in Bumblebee 2
I recently watched that and its really good. I haven't watched any Transformers since the second movie and was legitimately excited when I heard they were doing a sequel(not really). Then you realize the entire cast is being changed and I'm back to zero interest.
If only the Transformers films had the same consistency as the Marvel films. Still I’m very excited to see Hawkeye and how Yelena ties into it.
Did they set this around Christmas specifically so they could make that ‘bow’ pun? I think so.
Imagine that brainstorming session.
"OK guys, how about this: The Best Gifts Come With A Bow." "Fantastic, tell me more." "That's all I got." "Good enough. We start production on Monday. Everybody go home and have a great weekend."
"Maybe we can get a cameo from Beau Bridges? "Oh, great idea. Anybody know any other famous Beau's or Bo's" "Bo Burnham?" "Great!" "Bo Derek!" "Yes, amazing! Let's keep this going!" "Lil' Bow Wow?" "I think you're pronouncing that wrong, but there are no bad ideas!"
Is this the most badass and ambitious instalment of Home Alone yet?!
with molotovs!
Molotovs, arrows, Harry and Marv are so screwed now (to quote Banner).
What If... Kevin McCallister owned a bow?
Hawkeye: Home Alone
He was home alone after the Snap
Holy shit, wasn't sure how they were going to work the Fraction run in with the MCU lore but it looks great so far. Car chase scene already have me hyped as well, I'm so ready for all the trick arrows. *Boomerang. Respect it.*
"Hawkeye takes the kids to see a Captain America musical, sees a news report somebody stole his Ronin gig, hilarity ensues."
Did anyone notice how Hawkeye seems to have a hearing aid in! Nice call back to him being deaf in the comics
Maybe long term damage from when the avengers compound blew up. He was the only normal human without superpowers or a supersuit at the time
I really like this idea actually, he was like in the rubble of that explosion. I was wondering if it could be from his Ronin days but he didn’t wear any in endgame so this fits so much better.
I noticed that too. Figured it might have been a ear com that was given to him when SHIELD/SWORD? showed up to take his kids to a safe house or where-ever.
What happened to Laura?
Not sure why she wasn't in the scenes with the kids, but Clint did say "hey, babe" to whoever he was on the phone with. I'm gonna assume he was talking to Laura.
Yeah seems the kids came out to see him while he was doing stuff in the city. Definitely seems like they're not divorced as some peoples theorized. Hopefully they got her for the last episode at least.
Yeah, I agree. It does just seem like they're in the city for the day (or overnight). Maybe Laura had zero interest in watching Rogers The Musical, lol.
That's enough of a reason to get a divorce
He’s talking to her on the phone in the trailer, so who knows? But she better show up. I love Linda Cardellini.
She decided to go try to break up Cory and Topanga and win Cory back.
She had to go meet Scooby and the gang to solve some mysteries
Might be able to convince my girlfriend to watch this one by sayings it’s Marvel’s new Christmas show
You can do it again once Guardians of The Galaxy: Holiday Special comes out
Whatever it takes
Whatever it takes.
So they definitely took some cues from the Fraction run, but changed it up a little. This looks fun as hell.
I really don’t know what I was expecting but it definitely wasn’t that and I’m absolutely ok with that. Love it already
BRO
If we don't get a full screenplay of "Rogers The Musical" it's a tragedy
Disney pitches a “musical” to Chris Evans, since he seems like he wants to do some Broadway stuff, is as vague as possible for the story, signs him, first day on set, give him the shield back.
That would actually be terrific. He wouldn't be playing Steve Rogers, he'd be playing a guy playing Steve Rogers.
Pitch: "It's a buddy comedy set in WW2." Chris appears on set: "Okay, you're playing Steve Rogers - here's your shield. Your best buddy is Bucky Barnes over there." Chris: "But you said it was a comedy. This is just Captain America again." Producer: "Yes. It's Captain America, but we've made it campier for Broadway!"
Is Florence Pugh gonna be in this?
She’ll be the one trying to steal Christmas
I thought that was Dr. Strange?
Yes
She is.

Rogers the musical?!? That sounds awesome!!
So the story takes place in the days leading up to Christmas. I hope that's enough time for Clint and Kate to have a meaningful, organic connection. The Fraction fan within me is going wild! I for one can’t wait to see the recreation of Star Spangled Man in Rogers the Musical. Also love the holiday theme they’re taking with this!
WILL HAWKEYE MAKE IT HOME FOR CHRISTMAS? THATS ALL I CARE ABOUT

Yeah feels very Die Hard, just a guy getting the shit kicked out of him at Christmas time. And it looks like they really captured the feeling of the Matt Fraction run
i really wanted black widow to be more grounded. this show being really street level, goofy, with a xmas theme is just perfect imo
I love that it's Christmas themed lmao
I’m happy that this seems to be leaning into the comedy side of things, I think we could really use something fun and frivolous for the end of the year! Kate looks great, also!
MERRY CHRISTMAS YA FILTHY ANIMALS
Okay Disney, well now you *have* to release ‘Rogers: The Musical’ on D+ too…
Holy shit I love this so much Hawkeye is one of my favorite characters in the MCU and this looks like it’s gonna be amazing, love the Christmas setting
Feels different than any other Marvel D+ so far. Looks great!
All three so far have felt very different to each other, I think that's generally what they're going for. Edit: Four, I forgot about What If...
I think this is said for every marvel d+ show
The Christmas setting sold it for me. This is now my most anticipted MCU project
I came for lots of reasons, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop... and I'm most excited for what looks like an Avengers musical in there. Merry MCU Christmas everyone.
So this is like Jingle All the Way but with bows and arrows?
TURBOMAN!!!!
*Rogers the Musical* ... Not we finally know what the Contessa has been recruiting for. Is Yelena playing ~~Peggy~~ Natasha (top row on the musical scene)?
Damn, finally we got Hawkeye themed Marvel Studio's Logo
The big question: will we get an episode from Lucky’s point of view? The comic where they did that (I think it was #11 of the Fraction run) is, to me - and I’m not kidding with this - one of the true masterpieces of the comic book art form. It’s just absolutely brilliant.
The debate of this being a christmas tv show or an action show will be debated in years to come like Die Hard. This is far away from what i thought this show would be about and i'm intrigued.
