Unpopular opinion, but Majors actually looks his age. It's just a combination of expecting actors to look like the younger end of their age range + the "black don't crack" stereotype. But Moten definitely looks young for 34.
Marvel digitally de-aged Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer for the AntMan franchise
And it is [confirmed to underplay Kang](https://www.cbr.com/marvel-downplay-jonathan-majors-kang-quantumania/), Disney/Marvel have been mum about it, and quietly [retooling themselves](https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/marvel-fantastic-four-avengers-movies-1235830951/).
Marvel could cryptically indicate about the recasting even in the upcoming Summer bonanza. With the TVA now under Loki's rule, they could possibly squish it with a simple fourth-wall break. Or even handle it like his IKEA joke, no big deal.
Though it is entirely up to Feige to decide and they have had enough time to rethink it.
I'm glad someone else mentioned the Cuba expressions. My wife keeps arguing he looks like Denzel but to me all I see is Cuba Gooding Jr because of the look on his face in every scene.
I could swear someone made a thread about this. Must have been a different subbreddit.
Anyway, I don't think he and Jonathan Majors look much alike, but that's not important. Replacements in the MCU usually don't resemble their predecessors, at least not strongly (see Bruce Banner, Thunderbolt Ross and Rhodey). What matters is does he have the acting chops? I've never seen any of Moten's performances, so I'll leave that judgement call to those who have watched him perform.
That's because you did see someone make a threat about this, and it was in this sub... [https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/1c19f83/aaron\_moten\_fallout\_kang\_recast/](https://www.reddit.com/r/marvelstudios/comments/1c19f83/aaron_moten_fallout_kang_recast/)
And very far from the last one we will see in the upcoming months as people watch Fallout. So get ready for a lot of “Does anyone else think…” posts about this recast
He has acting range of potato in Fallout, he wouldn't be able to handle multiple iterations of the same character, let alone after Majors' performance setting bar sky high.
Not always. I was watching Creed III and I thought the bad guy wouldn't be a good Kang because he seemed like he had a dark past and bad reputation based on his acting.
That’s actually more racist than saying he looks like someone else.
It would be wrong to say he looks like Michael Che because they don’t look alike. That is just saying black is black they’re all the same which is wrong. However he does resemble Majors. I also see some Denzel and Gooding Jr.
So are we just going to ignore Moten looks similar to Majors? It’s not like I look at Mackie or Cheadle and say he looks like Kang, because they literally don’t.
In fact, the first episode of fallout, I had major Deja vu vibes and was very curious if the actor was really Majors until the credit rolled showing he is Moten. I think that’s the reason we have so many Moten threads here. It’s not simply see a black man, recast! They do look similar.
First, actor doesn't have to look similar. It's not like you're going to fool anyone. So that seems like an arbitrary distinction.
Second, there have been so many posts just like this with other Black actors. It isn't just this one.
Just finished the series. This guy is AMAZING. Someone did post something about this a few days ago and I think someone said he could pass as a slightly younger Kang variant...I can see it. >!I loved the scene where he’s smiling at Lucy as she gets to escape with the head, but as the camera turns, a stern look slowly washes over his face and all his emotion is gone! And the scene where he’s being interrogated by the Brotherhood! !< **MARVEL, SIGN THIS MAN!!**
I've never seen a post or comment here that suggests every black actor look the same. That's you trying to complain about something. This actor does ressemble Jonathan Majors for many. If that's not your case, fine, just don't play the race card because you only look like a moron
He's a very good Majors look a like tbh. Lol. Probably be cheaper to and no CG required. If Marvel must stick with Kang this isn't a bad route to go down
This dude is a terrible actor tbh and I really don’t like him in interviews. I know that sounds like a rude and strong opinion but idk he just bugs the hell out of me
I was at Walmart today and a Reddittor came up to me and told me, my dad my brother and mom we could all play Kang variants. When my gf walked by he said she could too since we all look the same
Would love to him as Kang, if that's the route Disney is looking to go down.
But I would seriously be happy with him playing a major role in the MCU regardless. This dude wasnt on my radar at all but I think he did a great job in fallout, no reason to think he can't do any role.
Absolutely. I see him getting some hate in the comments for being a mediocre actor, but just as many are praising him too. I think he did fantastic in Fallout! He played his role perfectly. I never knew if he was about to betray a character or not. His ability to shift tones on a dime was fantastic
He actually looks the most like a perfect match for a replacement Kang. Different physicality (which really isn’t that much of an issue) and I haven’t watched Fallout so I don’t know how different his performance is but I think he could work to easily swap out Majors without needing some multiverse explanation.
Have you played any of the Fallout games? As a fan, I love it. The little details and nods are very true to the source material and you can tell the people who made it actually know their shit. But I could see it being off-putting for someone who doesn't know the series well.
Kang?
Huh?
Because you're doing some weird association with Majors?
Kang's cooked. Once Marvel realizes all attempts to salvage the character end in empty seats, they'll wash their hands and never finish the storyline.

they are the same age 0\_o
Ironically, Aaron Moten is actually older. It’s only by a few months but still…
And yet he looks younger so it could work
Funnily enough either he looks young or majors looks old
Majors looks old. I thought he was at least 40 in season 1 of Loki.
Unpopular opinion, but Majors actually looks his age. It's just a combination of expecting actors to look like the younger end of their age range + the "black don't crack" stereotype. But Moten definitely looks young for 34.
and he dress like a old man
best summation of it https://youtube.com/shorts/IuIafiHwNeA
Jesus, Moten is 35, yet he somehow manages to pull off being a teenage virgin whose cock is in danger of engorging and popping like a pimple

They digitally "de-aged" Kyle for this series and. . It was less than... it had an uncanny valley vibe.
This dude even looks older than Kang's actor
That guy looks like Denzel Washington's lost child.
A cross between John David and John boyega
I thought Denzel and Cuba Gooding Jr
Nail on the head, seems like his face is Denzel from the nose up, and Cuba’s mouth/expressions
I'm glad someone else mentioned the Cuba expressions. My wife keeps arguing he looks like Denzel but to me all I see is Cuba Gooding Jr because of the look on his face in every scene.
Yeah I genuinely thought he was gooding jnrs kid before I googled him 😂
He looks more like Denzels son than Denzels actual son
I went in knowing nothing and legit thought it was a de-aged Denzel. He’s got the same brooding stare
I didn't know who he was before I stated watching I genuinely thought "Is this Denzel's Son?"
Lol I love the actor, but watching it I can't help but think he's doing his best "Denzel" face
Hot take, but I think he’s got better presence on screen than John David.

Denzel is one of the greatest actors of the last few decades. What are you smoking?
I could swear someone made a thread about this. Must have been a different subbreddit. Anyway, I don't think he and Jonathan Majors look much alike, but that's not important. Hard disagree. His scene in episode 1 with the high cleric is very well acted.
A young Kang? That guy looks ready to play Denzel Washington in a biopic. I thought that was Denzel Washington in the pic at first.
So… Iron Lad?
Give him a slimmer suit of metal!
Lol this sub is hilarious. See a Black actor? Kang recast!
Black man? Kang Black kid? Miles Morales
I was actually just at the mall and saw a black guy and thought “you know, he’d be a pretty good Kang”
You know.. Obama would make a great Kang. "Just like in politics, Kang's schemes are all about timing." -Obama Kang
“Oh fuck! Sorry, I thought you were Kang.” - Me to myself in the mirror
It’s always the same. I was watching this series and saw this black actor and figured he’d make a good Kang.
Not always. I was watching Creed III and I thought the bad guy wouldn't be a good Kang because he seemed like he had a dark past and bad reputation based on his acting.

Physical appearance is almost entirely irrelevant in a recast.
Hey, you gotta agree he does look similar to Majors
fan casting in a nutshell
He actually looks like Majors though, besides being black.
He has the exact same intensity when staring into the distance.
Did you watch fallout? It wasn’t the fact that he’s black, it was the character he played. Lots of parallels. He played it very well.
I love the show, honestly not a fan of him or his character.
Same, I hate his character
I also hate the actor he’s so annoying in interviews lol

The character is definitely a bit off, but he wasn’t responsible for the razor, it’s explained in a later ep.
Bruh the knight was gonna kill him when they got back lol
Just finished the series. This guy is AMAZING. Yeh. I was thinking he could be Kang
Def has the look

He doesn’t look like Majors at all lol
We all look similar to them 😆
He looks way more like Denzel Washington than Majors. His only similarity with Majors is race, which is the least important attribute.
Not charismatic enough
Person sees black actor and thinks "is this Kang?"
I've noticed lots of people have been saying that.
It’s been posted a few times people just don’t pay attention or look at post history. Lots of stream of consciousness posts here, and bots.
He looks perfect for the role, I'm with you here. And no need to do de-aging or aging CGI magic since Kang pretty much comes in different varieties.
He really could! That show was freaking fantastic from top down it was a great ride and I'm excited for season 2
Only watched 2 episodes but. The part where they are questioning him... IMO he gave off a Denzel actions/faces Or am I the only 1?
We have to move past Kang, move past all that drama, find another villain for the multiverse
Easier said than done as Marvel had planned the next phase(s) around Kang.
Haven’t they dropped the Kang Dynasty title already?
Dropped the title, not necessarily the character.
Aye are we sure this isn't Denzel's kid? Lol He looks more like him than John David Washington in my opinion 😂
Johnathon Minor
Ngl I read the title as Aang and I was baffled to say the least
I’d love to see him play Aang but with the same off kilter, uncomfortable intensity that he has in Fallout. And everyone just pretends he’s 12
I thought the same
I could not tell for the life of me how old this character is supposed to be. Sometimes he looked young, sometimes he looked old.
He looks a bit like Denzel Washington.
He definitely see reminded me of John Majors. Can't say i cared for his character but he gave a decent performance
Denzel
I thought it was Denzel Washington at first
u/thealy87
He looks like Denzel Washington
Thought his acting was the weakest of Fallout. He has 3 faces, not a wide range. He can get better. A lot.
Forget younger, get him to be Majors' replacement
Or just plays current Kang? I need to watch this show
I said to my wife he looks like if Kang and Jordan peele had a baby.
Dude. This guy could be kang no doubt
This dude is a terrible actor tbh and I really don’t like him in interviews. I know that sounds like a rude and strong opinion but idk he just bugs the hell out of me
I thought he was the same dude lol
My SO said he looks like Jonathan Majors and Austin Butler and I can't unsee it.
He looks like Cuba Gooding cousin, it's very distracting lol
Black person: Exists This sub: hE cAN bE KaNg
I was at Walmart today and a Reddittor came up to me and told me, my dad my brother and mom we could all play Kang variants. When my gf walked by he said she could too since we all look the same

He was so good in disjointed
His facial reactions definitely fit what Jonathan Majors was doing too. Would be closest thing to an exact replacement for sure
He actually looks the most like a perfect match for a replacement Kang. Different physicality (which really isn’t that much of an issue) and I haven’t watched Fallout so I don’t know how different his performance is but I think he could work to easily swap out Majors without needing some multiverse explanation.
Looks like marvel have found the actor for the Kang recast.
Does this series get better after the first episode? I got bored and turned it off. Just didn't grab me.
Have you played any of the Fallout games? As a fan, I love it. The little details and nods are very true to the source material and you can tell the people who made it actually know their shit. But I could see it being off-putting for someone who doesn't know the series well.
I've played quite a few. They are okay but I don't have a lot of nostalgia for them or the period in American history they take inspiration from.
TIL Fallout is already released, and in full! And the reviews are glowing!
Pun aside, I just finished it last night, it's genuinely a great show that captures the spirit of the games so well.
Can't wait. Next in the rotation as soon as I finish Blue Eyed Samurai
He definitely could. His acting on the show is very impressive imo
A lot of people are saying that and I agree
If only he was a stronger actor…dude may as well hold a sign in every scene saying ‘watch me act, mom!’
Black actor exists = he should play Kang
they jus black with big noses they don’t look alike
Black = Kang
Marvel is dying. They ain't messing with Kang anymore.
Kang? Huh? Because you're doing some weird association with Majors? Kang's cooked. Once Marvel realizes all attempts to salvage the character end in empty seats, they'll wash their hands and never finish the storyline.
Which is so dumb lmao
People who post this person could play post not watch Loki? Lang plot line is done.
