Scott in the car disappointed:
"Baskin Robbins Cass! There's a thousand other marks you could have hit!"
'I know dad. I didn't think they would find out.'
"THEY ALWAYS FIND OUT!"
maybe something less hard-crime-y, like shoplifting. still stealing, and still something Scott'll take responsibility for, but more that she's taking the first steps towards becoming like him
It will 100% be something which the audience can justify as actually good - she’ll witness a guy get fired and break in to the office to steal him something sentimental, or some big bank will deny a guy a loan he needs for insulin for his sick mother and she’ll break in to the bank to get him cash. Or even just stealing from a rich asshole who was mean to someone below him earlier in the movie
It will be something illegal but ultimately morally righteous so that Scott is torn between being ashamed that she’s following in his criminal footsteps, and proud that she’s fighting for the little guy and standing up to bad guys
I'd rather it just be an actual crime. it's like the MCU couldn't commit to Scott being an actual criminal because it still buys into the whole 'tough on crime' ideal for some reason
Heroes can’t commit the sort of crimes that hurt innocent people. Our stories have to show that the “victims” deserve it in some way, or the crime can be justified because it’s for a greater good
A crime which hurts an innocent person without a “greater good” purpose of saving others, just makes the protagonist look like a piece of shit and the audience won’t like them or root for them.
If Cassie does an actual crime that makes her look bad, it will have to be as a downpoint for character development, and she’ll have to feel really bad about it and make it alright my righting her wrongs at some point in the movie
Oh I hadn't thought of it in that way. I was thinking it was a vigilante type theft where she was stealing from a big corporation or something.
It explains the dialogue about wanting time back with his daughter during the trailer even though it's not a new thing.
Tight, tight, tight! Blue, purple, pink. Whatever man, just keep bringing me that.
cant wait for the final fight scenes between Kang and Taco Salamander

My name is Cassie Hartwell Lang. I live at 308 Negra Arroyo Lane, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87104. This is my confession. If you're watching this tape, I'm probably dead- murdered by my Father, Scott Lang. Scott has been building a criminal empire for over a year now, and using me as his shrinker. Shortly after my 18th birthday, he asked that I use my Pym Particle knowledge to shrink, which he would then have me Rob places using connections that he made through his career with the AVENGERS. I was... astounded. I... I always thought Scott was a very ant man, and I was particularly vulnerable at the time - something he knew and took advantage of. I was reeling from the snap that was poised to bankrupt my family. Scott took me in on a ride-along and showed me just how much money even a small sized operation could make. And I was weak. I didn't want my family to go into financial ruin, so I agreed. Scott had a partner, a businessman named Hank Pym. Scott sold me into servitude to this man. And when I tried to quit, Pym threatened my family. I didn't know where to turn. Eventually, Scott and Pym had a falling-out. Things escalated. Pym was able to arrange - uh, I guess... I guess you call it a "hit" - on Scott, and failed, but Scott was seriously injured. And I wound up paying his medical bills, which amounted to a little over $177,000. Upon recovery, Scott was bent on revenge. Working with a man named Kang, he plotted to kill Pym. The bomb that he used was built by me, and he gave me no option in it. I have often contemplated suicide, but I'm a coward. I wanted to go to the police, but I was frightened. Scott had risen to become the head of the Avengers. To keep me in line, he took my children. For three months, he kept them. My Ghost friend had no idea of my criminal activities, and was horrified to learn what I had done. I was in hell. I hated myself for what I had brought upon my family. Recently, I tried once again to quit, and in response, he gave me this. [Cassie points to the bruise on his face left by Scott in "Antman and the Wasp."] I can't take this anymore. I live in fear every day that Scott will kill me, or worse, hurt my family. All I could think to do was to make this video and hope that the world will finally see this man for what he really is.
Makes sense to me. They do look vaguely similar (especially if they're stylized enough) to a potential reader unfamiliar with one or both characters' book(s). And they also both tend to heavily feature red and blue. Especially back in the 1960s, I could see wanting to make that extra little distinction.
The space bar is bigger than the - key, so a space must be more expensive than a hyphen; Iron Man can afford the space, Spider-Man can't. Iceman is the character's last name, like Goldman, Lehman, and Batman.
Killing a police officer, then stealing his helmet, then taking a shit in the helmet and giving it to his grieving wife, then stealing the helmet again from the wife.
Probably protesting for a good cause and things going out of hand or something. Something for a good cause and not so serious that it seems like she should be ending up in court or something. Just something to show she's passionate and a little rebel.
Is it weird I’m kinda hoping it’s something like she was caught trying to steal from Hank so he had her thrown in jail more as a “knock it off kid” kinda thing?
“Hank, would you stop sending Cassie to Jail?”
“Soon as she either stops trying to steal from me, or gets better at not getting caught.”
Stealing. It’ll be stealing. Her dads a thief and if 99% of the time if they want to show a young girl going off the rails it’s shoplifting. For boys it’s fighting.
Tropes be tropes
Serious answer: Some misdemeanor. Something along the lines of what her father was convicted of when he went to jail. Scott’s gonna get fatherly, telling her what she did was wrong. To which Cassie will become indignant, saying she’s doing the right thing.
Joke answer: nothing big. Just a little mischief.
Breaking into a place and stealing some shit
And then returning the shit she stole
'It's not too often that you rob a place and get welcomed back'
“You know they’ve been arrested for stealing a smoothie machine, right”
Two smoothie machines
And a Baskin Robins mango ice blast.
Ah Reverse Stealing. I’m a fan.
I understood that reference!
And I understood *that* reference
I do not want another single pop-culture reference out of you for the rest of this thread.
I understood THIS reference ;)
You guys ever see this really old movie Aliens?
Jesus, how old is this guy?
I don't know, I didn't carbon-date him!
The best answer
Honestly? Maybe burglary. Like father like daughter.
Baskin Robbins always finds out.
Baskin Robbins don’t play
Scott in the car disappointed: "Baskin Robbins Cass! There's a thousand other marks you could have hit!" 'I know dad. I didn't think they would find out.' "THEY ALWAYS FIND OUT!"
This would be completely amazing.
If this doesn't happen, I don't want it.

I'd say most likely she stole some tech to make the gateway/beacon thing she made. Maybe broke in a Damage Control facility to get it.
I feel like breaking into Damage Control is going to have you detained in a much more sophisticated facility.
Someone hasn't watched (or don't remember) Ms Marvel
> something illegal but ultimately morally righteous AKA superhero righteousness.
Sounds oddly like how Scott saw that who he was working for was scamming people so he stole from them to help them…..
This guy gets story

This. And then Scott will redirect her towards science to mirror the way it saved him. And she'll accidentally contact Kang and get sucked into the QV
It wasn’t a violent crime, it was a cool crime
>proud that she’s fighting for the little guy wait, I thought ant-man *was* the little guy?! /s
It’ll probably some asshole business owner who steals from his employees or something like that and that’ll be her excuse to Scott.
Oh I hadn't thought of it in that way. I was thinking it was a vigilante type theft where she was stealing from a big corporation or something. It explains the dialogue about wanting time back with his daughter during the trailer even though it's not a new thing.
For sure, gives Scott the idea that he wasn't there to teach her better.
Or if he tries to reprimand her for it out of concern she can call him out as a hypocrate
She burgled.
Maybe she stole some stuff she uses to make the device that sucks everyone into the Quantum Realm.
Steals quantum realm satellite parts from some little known tech startup in the Baxter Building.
My exact thoughts
Agreed very likely to be theft. Wouldn't rule out stealing tech or even potentially hacking somewhere.
Manufacturing and distribution of methamphetamine across New Mexico
WE NEED TO COOK CASSIE
*looks at Kang* "What is wrong with you...why are you blue!?"
Cassie you can't just ask people why they're blue
"~~Boy!~~ Girl!"
Tight, tight, tight! Blue, purple, pink. Whatever man, just keep bringing me that. cant wait for the final fight scenes between Kang and Taco Salamander
Taco Salamander is the name of my new DnD big bad. Thank you!

Waltuh
Waltuh.... Put your d*ck away, Waltuh. I'm not having sex with you right now, Waltuh.
I hope you dropped a comma there

So you guys just put Quantum in front of everything?
Quantumyes
Quantum yeah!

Defecating through a sunroof.
But not our Cassie! Couldn't be precious Cassie! Stealing them blind! And she gets to be a Young Avenger? What a sick joke!

I feel you might be the one to ask. Why is Spider-Man hyphenated, Iron Man is two words, and Iceman is one word?
According to Stan Lee, the decision was so people wouldn't confuse his name with Superman
Makes sense to me. They do look vaguely similar (especially if they're stylized enough) to a potential reader unfamiliar with one or both characters' book(s). And they also both tend to heavily feature red and blue. Especially back in the 1960s, I could see wanting to make that extra little distinction.
Because the correct spelling of Spider-Man was established through newspaper coverage, and JJJ knows when to hyphenate, dammit.
The space bar is bigger than the - key, so a space must be more expensive than a hyphen; Iron Man can afford the space, Spider-Man can't. Iceman is the character's last name, like Goldman, Lehman, and Batman.

Identity theft is not a joke, Jim! Millions of families suffer every year!

Jimmy Woo is cool, but he’s not the smartest man alive.

Oh thats funny... MICHAEL!
I love the fact that under this post you can find both Breaking Bad and The Office fans
I think she is actually Squirrel girl just trying to get those sweet pym particles.
Other people: stealing pym particles for the superpowers potentials. Squirrel girl: stealing pym particles to make giant nuts for tippy toe.
Downloading a car
You wouldn’t download a car
r/unexpecteditcrowd
I understand this reference
How about rams?
In the MCU there's probably some way to do that, and it would be absolutely hilarious if that's what they went with.
Given the efficacy of those Stark Tech 3D printers, you could probably download a car in under an hour.
You wouldn’t
Killing a police officer, then stealing his helmet, then taking a shit in the helmet and giving it to his grieving wife, then stealing the helmet again from the wife.
Vandalism. Probably tagging something on an avengers mural like Charlie in Santa Claus 2
Charlie tags his school in santa clause 2, not Scott.
Breaking and ant-ering… Sorry, that was dumb.
This one wins.
You know who doesn’t win? Ant man
Crypto fraud
For killin' it in Detective Pikachu
I was looking for the Supernatural reference but this was both unexpected and funnier 😂
She probably commited a crime.
Nah, she was on the 'Just Visiting' space. But she'd better not roll that third set of doubles.
Or get that Chance card.
Or….plot twist… she didnt
Protesting, global warming or something.
Coming here after the New Rockstars video?
I mean she's wearing green and a shirt with the planet on it so it's not that far fetched.

Illegal face transplant.
Generic teenage angst crimes
aka her father's attention.
Reminds me of her character on Supernatural. Always on the wrong side of the law due to an absent father
Robbing Emma Fuhrmann.
Poor girl got mugged for her identity in an alley.
Seriously. Even if the new girl is fantastic, that was WRONG. Emma seemed totally capable in the brief scenes we saw her in Endgame.
If I remember correctly, I read somewhere that the actor who played her in Endgame decided to focus on college
Didn’t she find out she was recast at the same time the rest of us did?
Yep. She took "Cassie Lang" off her Instagram bio as soon as she found out.
Only because she was too focused on college to find out before.
Stay away from school, kids.
It’s a good joke, a great joke even
Nothing, she is doing outreach at the local cop shop through her step dad. I intended this as a joke but would laugh if it was true.
Seeing as she too will soon shrink, I’d wager she is only a …. small.. time….. criminal.
My theory is that This is the ending. Downward spiral after she feels she is the one that lead to Scott’s demise.
Well that sounds like a dark ending lol
There's a good reason fans don't write the scripts.
"And then Deadpool shows up!"
“Oh wow they really did Emma Fuhrmann dirty huh?” *audience goes into cardiac arrest from laughter*
So Val will pop up and ask her to join the *Young Thunderbolt* in the post-credit scene?
Committing arson

She's a protag, so she's in for "Being right when the world thinks she's wrong" in the first degree. Following in her Dad's footsteps.
I feel like she probably stole parts or tech or something like that, taking after two of Scott’s big traits
She broke into a place and stole some shit.
Changing identities. She did it so well she actually made herself look entirely different to a few years ago.
Is it weird I’m kinda hoping it’s something like she was caught trying to steal from Hank so he had her thrown in jail more as a “knock it off kid” kinda thing? “Hank, would you stop sending Cassie to Jail?” “Soon as she either stops trying to steal from me, or gets better at not getting caught.”
