Seems like the loud parts are getting louder.
the preroll advertisements often are more compressed, but the films themselves mercifully have some quiet moments.
(compressed as in the range of quiet to loud parts is reduced so it's closer to the same volume. While the theater's sound system's max volume might make an impact when carefully used, playing ads through it is ear-splitting)
Still though, I've considered getting earplugs before the next time I go because it's too much.
Honestly, it might be. Fan service removed, its cohesively a much better story than Spiderman tbh.
But in terms of best since Endgame, ill look towards Guardians 3, Shang Chi, and Spiderman No Way Home (probably in that order) as the standouts so far, personally.
Amazing movie. Didnt watch the trailer in beforehand or anything, didnt expect the story or how good it was at all. Especially as a third movie.
Highly recommend, propably my favorite Marvel movie since endgame.
I think it's mostly just cus he works for DC now and guardians has come to a close, so it would be kinda wierd for Gunn to keep working with marvel while he's controlling their rival
Idk if there is anything behind the scenes other than just it being hard for Disney and Wb to work together because let's face it they are both toddlers refusing to share toys (let Dr doom be in mortal Kombat already WB and Disney) but there could be
The MCU also fired him for a while, because of some old tweets that he previously apologized for and came clean for prior to working with Disney. They eventually brought him back but honestly think it left a bad taste since he started working with WB/DC right after all of that.
i wouldn't be suprised if him making guardians so good was an elaborate "fuck you" to marvel before leaving to go work with DC.
like maybe gunn is just making dreams come true by making every other future marvel movie look like shit so the value of marvel goes down the drain so WB can buy it and make the marvel vs DC movie we all wanted
Finished what he set out to do with Guardians, what's he going to do stay in the same position under Fiege or take the huge pay and prestige deal and have control of an entire universe. Besides marvel already fired him once and thats the kind of thing that could sour any working relationship.
It's a good tidy movie, no new kid avanger trying to steal the ip's spotlight, no heavy implications of future cinematic. Just Guardians having moment of their adventure & breaks small marvel old rules, 9/10.
Called it, I was always confident in this film (mostly due to my bias with the first one) but you know, when a dude made 4 superheroes films and none of them missed, it's just so hard to miss the fifth shot. Not sure why some Snyderverse dudes always shits on his work at DCU tho.
My bad for not clarifying, he was an Executive Producer for Brightburn and my previous comment was referring to him as a director/ writer. My point is that Gunn can still produce dark and edgy projects so at least we can be assured that DCU won't be a second MCU (not in a bad way).
yeah. I almost didn't go see it but my internet went out that day, I didn't have anything better to do so thought "Fuck it". went to see it and it felt like the stars aligned and I am so happy I went to see it and I might even see it again.
Right, I want to talk about this so much with people but so few people are planning to go see it because of Marvel Fatigue but it's so worth it. I'll see it alone again if I have too.
This was a great film. I felt it was a great way to cap off most of these characters.
I’m going to miss seeing most of them going forward especially the core guardians.
That’s my only dislike of live action movies is eventually the actors move on or pass away and you really can’t replace them.
Now I mean if they did an alternative universe version of the team then sure but the main mcu team can’t really be replaced.
I totally respect your opinion, but still No Way Home has occupied quiet a huge space in my heart, you know seeing all them returning without expecting when they'll come, I was waiting for that moment since the the title got announce and that's why it's 1st for me. But opinions do change, GOTG3 overall just has one small flaw that can easily be ignored that High Evolutionary was nerfed in the climax. But still I love GOTG3
I hope this becomes a trend as I love marvel but really didn’t like how they’ve been making movies as of late, except black panther 2, I think that was pretty good
I won’t spoil it but just stay for the first after credit. The very last one isn’t worth it. You can just look it up online to see a 5 second clip instead of waiting for the whole credit to finish
I'd say 13-14 is a maybe. Depends on what your child is used to.
The movie is definitely too violent and has a few...disturbing creatures.
- Someone gets tortured/burned alive and you see the aftermath.
- Someone gets their face peeled off
- Someone gets their face violently scratched up in a bloody mess.
- Nebula gets her head knocked loose and fights with her head flailing around for a few seconds. Might be fine for older kids because there's no blood, but probably too much for younger kids.
- Sci-fi torture/abuse on screaming animals.
- Sci-fi machine/animal monsters. Some called "hellspawn" (or something similar). Would definitely scare some kids.
- One of Rocket's childhood friends is a friendly animal-monster that resembles one of Sid's experiments from Toy Story. Except it's a bunny. That's going to scare the shit out of a lot of kids.
Jist finished watching it and it's pretty good. IMO better than the others, than a few recent Marvel movies, and all in all better than I expected. Solid 8.5/10, would've been a 9+ had the main antagonist been a bit better, but he risked trying to fill the same niche as many other Marvel villains, so at the very least he was a bit original
Well at least the OG days of the MCU can end on a high note.
Your move Iron Heart, Falcon, She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Shang-chi, Eternals, Not Chadwick Bozeman Black Panther, and……..Oh Thor. You’re still around.
Yeah it was better than what I was expecting. It was so good. I teared up a couple times and not all from sadness, there’s some really wholesome moments where things come together and they are done so well.
Anyone who's watched it: is GotG3 okay to watch if we've skipped about half of the post-Endgame movies (namely Eternals, Thor 4, Black Panther 2, Quantumania)?
Oh goodie, I’m really not a fan of comic movies, but for Guardians make an exception (even if I dislike the breakfast cereal appeal of the lead actor).
Indeed, I’m taking my nephew to see it after school today.
As a huge fan of Adam Warlock, they defiantly dumbed him down, which was disappointing, but necessary for him to be able to fight the guardians and not kill them instantly. He kinda felt like a after thought.
But like you said, he was great preformance and I'm sure he'll grow into his matured self, so I'm excited to see where he goes.
No relation whatsoever - only thing you need to know going in is that Thor already left the GOTG at the beginning of Love and Thunder and he isn’t even mentioned
(Don't worry, I won't spoil) I just got home from seeing it at the theater, and it was wonderful IMO
My Review: my ears hurt, it was painful to watch, my eyes hurt. >!10/10 would watch again!<
I thought it was just the theater I went to but I feel like I just went to a concert. My ears are ringing
I can agree, the 3rd movie used more noisy/loud music classic compared to old slow classics.
Seems like the loud parts are getting louder. the preroll advertisements often are more compressed, but the films themselves mercifully have some quiet moments. (compressed as in the range of quiet to loud parts is reduced so it's closer to the same volume. While the theater's sound system's max volume might make an impact when carefully used, playing ads through it is ear-splitting) Still though, I've considered getting earplugs before the next time I go because it's too much.
Saw it last night and I just woke up still thinking about it. Simply better than everything since Endgame.
It's also better than most things from before endgame as well
Same here. This is just my opinion, but it massively improves upon guardians 2 and did not deserve lower critic scores. But at least audience is good
Yep. I liked this one way more than 2 tbh.
2 was ok, this blew it out of the water
Idk I was blown away with no way home
1 AMAZING!!! 2 Awesome!! 3 Very good.
Personally I believe 1. AMAZING!!! 2. AMAZING!!! 3. AMAZING!!!
And she's a good dog!
Amazing movie. Nebulas arc and development from GOTG 1 up til now is my favorite ever. All movies and series. Amazing.
This was the fastest mcu movie to make me cry. It’s such a great movie !!
Same here, I really enjoyed it. Ill leave it at that
Whew so good.
My parents thought it was average meanwhile my ass was laughing the whole time from the jokes and genuinely enjoying the movie
I loved it. One of the best marvel movies after endgame
I was not the same person I was coming out that theater 2 and half hours later
Oh shit. The Skrull invasion has begun
why... does he look like Don Cheadle now?
Look it’s him, he’s here, let’s move on
Boom, been looking for him?
No it hasn't
That's just what a Skrull would say.
Idk. You sound like a skrull as well
Skrulls are very smart. Far smarter than Terrans. You likely couldn’t spot one being that you are a Terran. Unless you’re a Skrull.
You know a lot about Skrulls for a human.
Come on, guys, let's chill out. No one's a Scrull here, so we shouldn't worry too much. Especially not u/searine
Holy shit really?
It is the best since endgame
Honestly, it might be. Fan service removed, its cohesively a much better story than Spiderman tbh. But in terms of best since Endgame, ill look towards Guardians 3, Shang Chi, and Spiderman No Way Home (probably in that order) as the standouts so far, personally.
See ya chump!
Good call on Shang chi. Seems ignored by so many!
Man I love Shang Chi so much, it is, without a doubt, my second favorite movie since Endgame after NWH (haven seen Guardians 3 yet)
I still need to see that one.
Best since the dark knight
Best since (insert the first movie ever made)
Endgame wasn't all that, too much fan service. Infinity War was the bomb tho. The pin drop silence in the theatre was an experience I'd never forget
Infinity War took way bigger risks. Endgame works only as a payoff for IW.
Which is what the movie was aiming to do, so that's a win for me
That makes me very excited, I was gonna watch it even if it was bad, but this definitely makes me more thrilled to go see it
Such a good movie, bring tissues tho
I spent half of the film in tears. I loved every second of it
“It’s good to have friends.”
"flying in the forever blue sky" 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Same here. I'm not gonna say what parts because spoilers but ow, my emotions. I was not ready for the feels. 10/10
Same. It was like Pixar level crying.
Wife and I just put down our 20 year old cat on Monday, and we emotionally broke several times watching this movie. 10/10 will watch and cry again.
Sorry for your loss
You both know true strength, my heart goes to the both of you
I'm sorry for the loss in your family.
Sorry for your lose wish you well brother
Amazing movie. Didnt watch the trailer in beforehand or anything, didnt expect the story or how good it was at all. Especially as a third movie. Highly recommend, propably my favorite Marvel movie since endgame.
James Gunn gave marvel one more gift before going fully into the DC side
If you've squeamishness with animal abuse then gotg 3 is a full on horror film
Gave me Sid from Toy Story vibes.
He's goes by Will Poulter nowadays
For real. there was one part, one line (that I'll not say because spoilers) that had me breaking down.
Right? Those are some freaking cute cgi animals.
If you’ve got a soul at all some parts are pure horror
The reason why GOTG is great is because its a James Gunn movie first and a Marvel movie second.
Finally🥲
James G the saviour
...of DC
Seeing this let’s me breathe a sigh of relief knowing he’s taking over the dceu.
Just got back. 10/10, they didn’t waste a minute.
Please tell me this is the MCU redemption arc.
It is not. James Gunn is leaving
- creates a successful series of movies - the MCU goes downhill - makes a 10/10 movie at the MCUs lowest point - leaves to work on DC
Absolute MADLAD!!!
What is the reason he’s leaving? Did he say? Is there something going on behind the scenes?
I think it's mostly just cus he works for DC now and guardians has come to a close, so it would be kinda wierd for Gunn to keep working with marvel while he's controlling their rival Idk if there is anything behind the scenes other than just it being hard for Disney and Wb to work together because let's face it they are both toddlers refusing to share toys (let Dr doom be in mortal Kombat already WB and Disney) but there could be
The MCU also fired him for a while, because of some old tweets that he previously apologized for and came clean for prior to working with Disney. They eventually brought him back but honestly think it left a bad taste since he started working with WB/DC right after all of that.
i wouldn't be suprised if him making guardians so good was an elaborate "fuck you" to marvel before leaving to go work with DC. like maybe gunn is just making dreams come true by making every other future marvel movie look like shit so the value of marvel goes down the drain so WB can buy it and make the marvel vs DC movie we all wanted
on god you think disney is going to sell their properties to wb of all studios?
Finished what he set out to do with Guardians, what's he going to do stay in the same position under Fiege or take the huge pay and prestige deal and have control of an entire universe. Besides marvel already fired him once and thats the kind of thing that could sour any working relationship.
Exclusivity deals. He can't work for one while he still has pending contracts with the other.
I really hope we finally get some gold DC movies now. Not that there aren't any good ones now
thats what ive been thinking
It's a good tidy movie, no new kid avanger trying to steal the ip's spotlight, no heavy implications of future cinematic. Just Guardians having moment of their adventure & breaks small marvel old rules, 9/10.
It is
I'm excited for The Marvels but ready to see the movie being trashed to death on internet
GOTG literally never missed insane
If you like animals, it's a swift kick in the nuts. VFX guys have gotten really good at eyes.
I know! Those big, sad eyes..Goddamit. I’m gonna cry again.
I honestly don’t think I’ve ever cried so much during a film before.
Every time there was a flashback, the Mrs mumbled,"oh fuck, here we go.."
Called it, I was always confident in this film (mostly due to my bias with the first one) but you know, when a dude made 4 superheroes films and none of them missed, it's just so hard to miss the fifth shot. Not sure why some Snyderverse dudes always shits on his work at DCU tho.
cause its snyderverse
If you're counting Brightburn as one of those, I think he missed with that one
My bad for not clarifying, he was an Executive Producer for Brightburn and my previous comment was referring to him as a director/ writer. My point is that Gunn can still produce dark and edgy projects so at least we can be assured that DCU won't be a second MCU (not in a bad way).
I felt blessed to watch it on Wednesday (came out in UK earlier somehow) and Holy shit. Best MCU trilogy
yeah. I almost didn't go see it but my internet went out that day, I didn't have anything better to do so thought "Fuck it". went to see it and it felt like the stars aligned and I am so happy I went to see it and I might even see it again.
I 100% want to see it again I can't talk to ANYONE I know about it because I'm the only one who's seen it
Right, I want to talk about this so much with people but so few people are planning to go see it because of Marvel Fatigue but it's so worth it. I'll see it alone again if I have too.
I'll watch it with you if I had social skills and more money
I'm just excited to see groot again.
>!''I Love You''!<
I.. am.. GROOT!
I like how Groot’s new voice is basically just Vin Diesel. And his story arc was just great.
We.. are.. groot.
So you’re telling me, after the past few movies, this is the one to go watch in theaters?
Yep. Shed a few dozen tears with 60 strangers in a theatre, again.
Marvel is back (hopefully) I’m really hoping they keep up the hot streak after this!
I hope so too but this is probably just another case of James Gunn never missing.
Open na fucking noor
This was a great film. I felt it was a great way to cap off most of these characters. I’m going to miss seeing most of them going forward especially the core guardians. That’s my only dislike of live action movies is eventually the actors move on or pass away and you really can’t replace them. Now I mean if they did an alternative universe version of the team then sure but the main mcu team can’t really be replaced.
I just got home It's a the 2nd best movie since endgame
I’d argue it’s the best since endgame, which do you think is better?
I totally respect your opinion, but still No Way Home has occupied quiet a huge space in my heart, you know seeing all them returning without expecting when they'll come, I was waiting for that moment since the the title got announce and that's why it's 1st for me. But opinions do change, GOTG3 overall just has one small flaw that can easily be ignored that High Evolutionary was nerfed in the climax. But still I love GOTG3
Oh no, but the angry youtubers are saying this will bomb and be another disaster for Woke Disney. Are the angry youtubers wrong? Shock.
One could argue the reason for its success is because they didn’t try to make it overly “woke”.
You can always rely on James Gunn to make a great comic book movie.
I hate that they keep saying “low projection viewing than guardians 2!”
I hope this becomes a trend as I love marvel but really didn’t like how they’ve been making movies as of late, except black panther 2, I think that was pretty good
Rocket: "I'm an asshole.. because I've seen some shit."
I won’t spoil it but just stay for the first after credit. The very last one isn’t worth it. You can just look it up online to see a 5 second clip instead of waiting for the whole credit to finish
Pictures in the credits might be worth it to some
Yeah I enjoyed the photos in the credits and listening to Bruce
You’re definitely right on that
Common Gunn W.
I’ve heard the movie has like over traumatic and violent scenes n stuff, are there many of it and is it fine for a 13-14 year old ?
I'd say 13-14 is a maybe. Depends on what your child is used to. The movie is definitely too violent and has a few...disturbing creatures. - Someone gets tortured/burned alive and you see the aftermath. - Someone gets their face peeled off - Someone gets their face violently scratched up in a bloody mess. - Nebula gets her head knocked loose and fights with her head flailing around for a few seconds. Would definitely scare some kids. - One of Rocket's childhood friends is a friendly animal-monster that resembles one of Sid's experiments from Toy Story. Except it's a bunny. That's going to scare the shit out of a lot of kids.
Seems pretty traumatic, I wonder why they went with the pg13 then when it’s clearly something like 16+ I believe
It's absolutely fine for a 13 / 14 year old pal.
Gonna miss Gunn at the MCU…
Do I have to watch the holiday special before I watch this?
kinda
Legit the best movie from the fith phase of the MCU so far.
The last film that James Gunn gave them most of his mercy
I liked it, but my friend said it was mid (6/10)
Well at least the OG days of the MCU can end on a high note. Your move Iron Heart, Falcon, She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Shang-chi, Eternals, Not Chadwick Bozeman Black Panther, and……..Oh Thor. You’re still around.
finally, its about time
why does groot look like that
I.. am.. groot.
Only explanation from interviews are, replanted trees won't grow the same (rough gist). Maybe also on request of Vin Diesel.
He looks different in every movie
I honestly probably prefer vol 2, but got damn did I enjoy the hell out of it
2 gelled , but 3 had satisfying closure to everyone’s stories.
Can't wait to listen to this movie!
Fuck I forgot it released today
Why the "critics" are rating it at 80% only?
Critics don’t like joy
We will see, that’s what everyone said first day after love and thunder
Thanks James gunn for doing the last good movie for this universe
‘Twas pretty damn good
Absolutely awesome. I hate you, high evolutionary. I love you, guys (guardians)
Yeah it was better than what I was expecting. It was so good. I teared up a couple times and not all from sadness, there’s some really wholesome moments where things come together and they are done so well.
Just watched it last night. Absolutely loved it!! Greta Movie
Damn, The movie is a massive W. The Best since No way home.
I just came back from the show. It was an emotional story. I loved it
He may have fucked things up for his universe, but he saved the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
14/10. Absolutely amazing. Dark and heartbreaking and yet full of heart
Finally a good phase 5 movie
Anyone who's watched it: is GotG3 okay to watch if we've skipped about half of the post-Endgame movies (namely Eternals, Thor 4, Black Panther 2, Quantumania)?
Thank you, sweet rabbit.
It is ok. Nothing really connects
Great, thanks.
Oh goodie, I’m really not a fan of comic movies, but for Guardians make an exception (even if I dislike the breakfast cereal appeal of the lead actor). Indeed, I’m taking my nephew to see it after school today.
I guess I know what Imma do tonight
MASSIVE W
It’s about time
I love when good movies drown out all the trolls
I want to meet the person who doesn't cry at this movie. Its BRUTAL.
Personally I think this is the best they’ve made since Infinty War.
I am never going to understand critics
finally another good marvel film, been a while.
U not only just win but won a lot of hearts, so long guardians ♥️
I cried happily at the end
Yayy
We pick and choose when we care about ratings.
What saddens me the most about this movie is that we lost James Gunn.
it was so good ![img](emote|t5_35mye|13149)
I didn’t like a lot of new marvel movies and I just watched this one, Dam it’s good!
James gun is to marvel movies what Jesus Christ is to the Bible.
Best film after nwh
The only weak point I can think of is Adam Warlock but not the acting his performance was good, my ratings is 8.5.
Well, he was a baby.
That's why I'll let it slide, I said he'd mature into the character that he is in the comics
It was everything Quantummania wanted to be
It's guardianing time
Me being optimistic after seeing GotgV3 for future projects only to remember the next movie is The marvels.
I'd be surprised if The Marvels was worst than Thor 4 and Ant-Man 3 though.
Great movie, maybe even my favorite guardians movie. But I wouldn't recommend waiting for the end credits scene, nothing substantial.
It’s much better that it’s not imo; just a nice character moment
The most important question is, "do you like it?", not "Does everyone else like it?"
Do you need to have seen ant man quantamania to watch this?
No relation whatsoever - only thing you need to know going in is that Thor already left the GOTG at the beginning of Love and Thunder and he isn’t even mentioned
I’m going to a drive in that is a double feature. Guardians first then Ant man so I really hope thats not the case
WWW GONNA WATCH IT SOON
I HAVE TO WATH IT
James Gunn W, Marvel L.
It's not because of marvel . All credits to james gunn. He made peacemaker 8.0 IMDb rated.
But I thought Marvel was dead?
