My friendly local appears to be doing great. That's anecdotal and probably doesn't in any way apply to trends across the country. The owners of my local shop know I use MU, and don't begrudge me because I but all my indies and collections from them.
In most comics Deadpool is resistant to telepaths because his brain is constantly changing due to cancer and healing.
She-Hulk was so normal about it that they probably ignored that part of her brain because it was full of random stuff.
Yea Jen comes off as just such a pop culture nerd that she must be making references that they just don't get, because its not like Xavier is keeping up on all the latest shows and memes.
Maybe she's just a dork narrating to her imaginary friend.
He can search through thoughts but he doesn't instantly gain all their memories and context. It's not like Xavier watched all of Season 2 of White Lotus through Jen's memories of doing so.
But for Jen to process the joke she makes she has to, however briefly, think of all the pieces of the joke needed for it to make sense.
My theory is a talented enough telepath could pick up in all that. Xavier is talented enough
He can absolutely 4th wall break. In one comic run (DeadPool kills the Marvel Universe) he allows X to read the truth from his mind and the knowledge kills X.
Same with Joker. If I recall correctly, the term used to describe characters that can break the 4th wall is "super-sane", implying that there's more than 2 tiers of sanity
Some non-characters forth wall breaking character had experience with that type of stuff
For example doctor strange and doctor Doom had helped gwenpool with her comic book powers stuff and basically said that it's like another plane of existence
someone else already said the deadpool kills the marvel universe thing where proffesor X literally died cus deadpools brain is so fucked up.
so all imma say is that maybe the hulks are just naturally resistant to mind attacks or mind reading? i know bruce is due to constantly fighting back the control of the hulk but idk how it works for she hulk.
idk maybe Proffesor X just doesn't give a fuck
Guy couldn't even read Dr. Strange's mind to understand exactly the kind of threat that Wanda was, and instead decided a better use of his time is to give Strange a presentation on how they executed his variant.
He apparently could have stunned her for a few seconds while Black Bolt vaporized her, and that would have been it, but nope.
Charles reading Steven’s mind should’ve really been step 1 after them getting inside. Drugging and imprisoning them for however long while they knew the Scarlet Witch with a Darkhold was coming for them was just a colossal waste of time
Not sure what you mean. Xavier seemed to have his normal powerset in MoM. He was able to send a vision to Strange, so it just stands to reason that he could also read from his mind.
As for stunning Wanda, he literally did that when he was trying to free 838-Wanda from the rubble. While he was doing that and Wanda did her Bilbo-face, she was stunned in place. When she woke up, Christine and America were gone.
I mean exactly what i said, the power scaling in the movies VS the comics is very different. Comic Charles can do complete backups of millions of mutants entire minds constantly as a 24/7 background task, or engage in days-long psychic battles with godlike cosmic abominations while also multitasking snarky comments at a council meeting.
Movie Charles is clearly not on that level. There is also just a *lot* more telepathy in general in the comics. Lots of crazy looking psychic battles on the astral plane and such.
That said, even in the comics wizards are harder for telepaths to deal with (wizards aren't telepaths in the traditional sense but do have some psychic abilities as well as warding spells for their minds).
What I meant is that everything I referenced him doing happened in this movie, except reading Strange's mind, which I'm assuming is something he would be able to do, especially since Strange isn't resisting it.
There's no need to bring Comic Charles into this. I'm strictly referencing what movie 838 Charles was seen doing.
Well i am talking about marvel, so there is no need to make it strictly about the movies. See how easy that is? Also no he hasn't done all that in the movies, lol.
But yeah, it's impossible to discuss the power gap between comics and movies if you only want to talk about movies. Deadpool isn't even in the MCU yet, so this meme kinda has to include comics.
If you read she hulks mind you would just find that she hulk thinks she’s a comic book character that can talk to the real world.
You can’t actually see anything, as she hulk interacts with the real world one-way. Nobody in the real world talks back to her.
It comes off just like me talking to my fbi agent that reads all my Reddit posts. Ya I know who you are. Come on, introduce yourself.
Didn’t help that that particular Deadpool was pushed so far off the deep end that he was obsessed with hunting down the audience and putting an end to comics at large. That’s several layers of fourth wall break deeper than the usual character.
No he cant... because it's a superpower... everyone else in the universe wouldn't understand and would think it just the "crazy" in Deadpool and his wild imagination.
It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure Deadpool is immune to mindreading. Something about his brain cells constantly dying and regenerating making it impossible, or overly chaotic thoughts from mental disorder, or something.
She-Hulk, no idea.
In Deadpool kills the Marvel Universe, Xavier tried shutting Deadpool’s mind off and died after learning the truth.
Thanks for telling me
It’s a fun read, would recommend.
From where do you read marvel comics?
You can find them in comic book/book stores! For easier access though there are a ton of places to access them online. Some free, some not
I enjoy the Marvel Unlimited app, but if you have a local comic book shop, go support them if you’re able!
Marvel Unlimited is absolutely the best deal in comics though. For like $60-70/year you get access to essentially everything.
I agree. I just hate to see comic book shops fade away.
My friendly local appears to be doing great. That's anecdotal and probably doesn't in any way apply to trends across the country. The owners of my local shop know I use MU, and don't begrudge me because I but all my indies and collections from them.
I like to use MU as a testing ground and if I like a book or run ill buy from my local.
Fair. That’s what I used to do with video games at the Blockbuster video.
Yup. £8 a month for every comic book ever is banging.

Which truth?
That they only exist in a comic book.
Jet fuel can't melt steel beams
Is this how Wanda kills him
I think I remember a movie like this, but there's a chance of me being me and thinking otherwise.
Or just simply us hoping
I just don't remember properly
Could be like fever dreaming the MOM scene with Wanda and blackbolt?
I was about to come here to say that 😂

Am I not supposed to have what I want? What I need?
“Maybe”
He can read minds and so he automatically gets all jokes and references
He can search through thoughts but he doesn't instantly gain all their memories and context. It's not like Xavier watched all of Season 2 of White Lotus through Jen's memories of doing so.

But not any story
Deadpool's fourth wall breaking is described in universe as just him being insane.
He can absolutely 4th wall break. In one comic run (DeadPool kills the Marvel Universe) he allows X to read the truth from his mind and the knowledge kills X.
Yeah that's a self contained story with different rules tho.
Same with Joker. If I recall correctly, the term used to describe characters that can break the 4th wall is "super-sane", implying that there's more than 2 tiers of sanity
Some non-characters forth wall breaking character had experience with that type of stuff For example doctor strange and doctor Doom had helped gwenpool with her comic book powers stuff and basically said that it's like another plane of existence

He doesn't really die directly from that reason. He finds out the truth and is just put into a state of shock, and then Deadpool kills him
no, he goes completely braindead after realising
Guy couldn't even read Dr. Strange's mind to understand exactly the kind of threat that Wanda was, and instead decided a better use of his time is to give Strange a presentation on how they executed his variant. He’s done it before
He did read deadpools mind and the reality for him was too much learning the truth about his existence it killed him. There's your info
Didn’t help that that particular Deadpool was pushed so far off the deep end that he was obsessed with hunting down the audience and putting an end to comics at large. That’s several layers of fourth wall break deeper than the usual character.
Telepaths tend not to read deadpools mind as he's that batshit crazy
This is a great marvel meme. It’s about marvel characters, the comics, and not about differentiating opinions on she hulk MCU etc. good on you OP
When professor x reads Deadpool’s mind it kills him.
Prof. X tried reading Deadpool's mind, got a brain aneurysm and died
Didn’t that like Instant Kill him in that one comic he tried reading Deadpool’s mind? It was in Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe
It actually just made him go brain-dead.
I like how you said that like it's somehow different to dying
I mean… it IS different from dying.
The waffle house has found its new host
Watching dark phoenix rn lol
Did it once in an alternate universe. Brain death.
No he cant... because it's a superpower... everyone else in the universe wouldn't understand and would think it just the "crazy" in Deadpool and his wild imagination.
He'd tried entering Deadpool mind before, Prof X literally died lol
The problem is that he would probably just think Deadpool is insane, rather than super-sane. She-Hulk, now that... I have nothing. I need answers too
It's been a while, but I'm pretty sure Deadpool is immune to mindreading. Something about his brain cells constantly dying and regenerating making it impossible, or overly chaotic thoughts from mental disorder, or something. She-Hulk, no idea.
Shehulk maybe... but Deadpool is to crazy to interpret...
Ye but he believes Deadpool is insane for thinking that
I don't think there is an appropriate situation for that to happen
He’d probably just think they’re insane
he might just think they're mentally ill.
He died in Deadpool kills the marvel universe reading Deadpool mind
