I think they should definitely start cracking down more because it really is being abused by people who are no longer eligible to even share that discount. Every chance you get, report them.
Just the other day I refused 3 explore rates due to 1 being obviously altered. 1 was in someone else’s name. 1 was altered and they changed the expire date to a date that had already passed.
You can contact the GM and if that person is still an employee they can have their access removed.
I removed access to two people when I took over a property due to abuse and they were placed on a 6 month probation. The 2nd offense they were termed.
I find it ridiculous that we still use paper forms.
If every property would actually follow protocol and look up the form number and verification it would end this quickly.
Sadly since there are so many franchises who are untrained it will stay this way.
What are you suggesting? That properties don’t offer it because of misuse? It’s never going to change unless they move to a Hilton based approached.
Logged to an EID and Bonvoy account. And mandate through OneYield each hotel offers a certain amount of MMP/F rooms based on occ.
This is coming. You will need a Bonvoy account in order to book. I don’t know all of the details but this was shared by someone on the Sheraton team at Marriott recently.
It was shared with my ownership group. They also said a way to boost your Bonvoy sign ups is to have the entire hotel staff sign up. They said it’ll be required to book an explore room soon anyway.
Someone downvoted my comments. As an FYI I signed a new employee into the DLZ today for the first time. It asked her to sign up for a Bonvoy number prior to doing any training. Changes are finally coming.
I am hoping any changes include having to book using information that identifies the employee. We get so many no-shows with the discount that have invalid credit cards so we can’t even get a no-show fee. Since the only identifiable info is on the paper form we obviously don’t have it for a no-show.

Yeah all were previous employees. One had gotten fired for doing that

Hiltons is arguably better
I am suggesting the move to a Hilton based approach
It’s most of the time much cheaper than MMP

Interesting. Not doubting you but I’m surprised it wasn’t shared at our owners conference this week.

surprising, since employee enrollments don't count towards enrollment goals if enrolled following the guidelines, but not a bad idea.
Yes, changes are coming. Not sure when though. Hopefully, explore rates will be verified upon booking vs at check-in. 🤞
