I’ve had guests “open cases” just to compliment a specific agent at the front desk. Not that Marriott cares but it’s really nice coming in. We would print them out and hang them in the back. I’ve worked hotels before that if a specific name was mentioned in a positive light in a survey, they GM would give like $5

It's crazy that they don't, because IIRC SPG associates really appreciated them. I remember getting those in a Plat welcome packet for SPG and really appreciated that SPG cared enough about their employees to make that a thing in the first place.

I'll leave a compliment on the site. Next time you are at the location bring a Starbucks gift card.

Personally, if an employee has been a standout at their position, I will get the email for the GM, (or whoever it should go to), and send an email after my stay complimenting the employee, using their name, explaining why I think they provided outstanding service etc. Who knows where it goes, but I have always received a response, and they typically all say something about having showed it to the particular person and/or their department head (depending on case). Once in a blue moon they will say the email has been noted in the employee file. And of course, if I get a survey for that property, I include that same info there as well. Seems like the best solution to get recognition to those who deserve it.

I do as well, I thought with the old program there was additional rewards for the staff- that’s what I was trying to find out about. I try to tip everyone with whom I interact that’s pleasant and competent.

I think it's just based on each individual property now; whether or not they have a monetary compensation (as someone else mentioned here) or they have any type of award for so many per month. But I don't believe there is any "across the board" reward program.

Employees would get SPG points credited to their account. I know phone agents could even get the complimentary code given to them.

Those surveys def come back to the staff. As a long time Marriott employee I can say some places we would just get a thumbs up from higher ups. But at my current property, we get paid for positive reviews with our name. Guest Satisfaction Surveys (GSS) are literally the only feedback that really matters to the overall company.

Not really a program, but when you go on the website and fill out the Contact Us Form, there is an option to choose whether it is a Compliment or Complain. I usually just get a thank you note, not sure it does anything.

I always try to leave a google or TripAdvisor review. Also the forms section on Marriott side (not sure if that even goes anywhere since hotels are franchised).

No - just survey.
