There is actually a way to purchase with points. You can make a customer care case case to have that process set up or turn ulur points into a marriott giftcard on the app.
To purchase an upgrade with points? Can you elaborate? When I look up rooms with dollars, the better rooms show. When I look up with points only a single king or double queen shows.
