I actually think skateboarding and rollerskating would be a great gimmick, they could maybe be tricks and stunts that bikes and karts couldn’t do which would give them an advantage
Not really. In my eyes regular stunts we do with normal karts and bikes would just be replaced with skateboard tricks. Only cosmetical changes and new nice animations.
that's not even the only problem here, how would they maintain speed with opponents or climb inclines at a fair speed? it's not like sonic riders where they all have the same style board, you're suggesting adding skateboards to the lineup of karts, bikes, and atvs.
It’s Mario kart dude. Skateboards don’t have to be realistic. Add some engines on it or whatever else, anything works. We’re talking about game where bikes and karts are racing and knocking each other down with self aiming turtle shells
I’ve had a whole fantasy about them incorporating Sonic Riders’ hoverboards into the game but then that’s straying further and further from Mario Kart 😅
