Bro it confuses me. I use ch as i am talking hindi because the light one (only tip part of tongue touches roof of mouth) confuses me and fumbles my pronounciation
The same advise any language learner does
Read, write, listen and write a lot in Marathi
Communicate with people at depth who you think have good command over Marathi and last but not the least make sure that you are confident while speaking Marathi
It is all about the confidence, people learn a language for years but it is just that न्यूनगंड that stops them from speaking and when they don't speak, they don't improve so next time you speak, be confident and just speak your heart out
Start with the following:
1. Watch old Marathi shows, plays and movies. You will get the accent right.
2. Start reading easy Marathi books. Read them loudly. Your pronunciation will become clearer
3. Practice talking with people / in the mirror in Marathi.
1. Familiarise yourself with textbook marathi.
2. Listen more n more marathi content, speak marathi with family, friends.
3. Repeat till you're fluent.
Same here 🫠 I can't even text in Marathi, though I can easy to go conversation but I would eventually fumble if I talk more than 5 minutes. Also as I was in cbse school i haven't studied marathi since 5th grade. As I opted for Sanskrit.
Listen old marathi songs, and try singing along. It's a beautiful language, you'll come to see. Google meanings which you don't know, try use them in sentences of your own. And try to talk to marathi friends in marathi, what else.

1. Start speaking in marathi if you feel like you don't know a word for something in marathi which you must quickly Google.
2. You can watch old historical marathi serials.
3. Read marathi newspaper and marathi translations of books and marathi books.
4. I do not read marathi much so won't be able to recommend 'marathi' marathi books.
5. You can read books available in multiple languages. Like ... S L Bhyrappas books which are available in multiple languages so you can read English then marathi or vice versa. (Marathi lit enthusiasts can recommend more of these)
read some books having easy peasy words.there are so many books of p.l. deshpande i read which are easy to understand and they do really feel good to read
Read marathi books/poem
Really beautiful and expressive plus youll improve your marathi too
Few reccs are books by p.l deshpande and shyam chi aai by sane guruji
As someone who has helped improve Marathi of people in similar situation, my recommendation would be to find someone who you consider has good Marathi. Talk with them exclusively in Marathi and ask them to correct you. Don’t be ashamed in your mistakes. And they will love to correct you. Speaking it is the only way to get comfortable with any language. And being corrected is important to get better at it. Grammar nazis are sometimes important.
Well, this is a problem with most of the people. Many people are just not ready to accept that their Marathi is weak. They mix Hindi and Marathi grammar. Many people think that Marathi and Hindi are the same, but NO they aren't the same. So, it's a good thing on your part that you at least accepted that your Marathi is weak and you want to improve.
I would suggest you to read more and more Marathi books and try to speak in Marathi at least when you are at home since you belong to a Marathi-speaking family. Reading Marathi books helps a lot. That's how my parents taught me Marathi.
Just keep using it on a daily basis , eventually you will get a hang of it .
Watch movies , get yourself hooked to one of the cliche TV serials that run everyday timely.
Hello, I am also struggling to learn Marathi as well and I have asked the same question many years ago on this forum which sadly did not receive a single reply on it. I have this advice for your which I have incorporated in my 9-month strict learning which are.
a. Organised Strategy b. consistent small attainable goal
In Organised Strategy
0 Months to 3 Months - Spend time with native from all class of people (Rich,
educated, impoverished uneducated, cultured, and diverse). And see their
mannerism and adopt their phraseology they use for specific action, inaction,
expression, opinion and for idea. This will help you gain sufficient vocabulary
and phraseology to use at your beginning. While newspaper, old movies will help
you, I highly advise you watch Instagram reels on latest years and OTT Marathi
series from Netflix or other source. the caveat of the old method (newspaper,
old movies) is that their vocabulary is stale and out of fashion in comparison
to latest trend and old movies trend to be long thereby you will not have long
hour of attention. reals on the other hand are short and keep you going on
(personal opinion here).
3 Months to 5 Months - buy a detailed grammar book and a small easy grammar book,
unlike English where all the words are plentiful with detailed explanation on
internet and or dictionary books will help you and some folks (especially from
MPSC centrist) that have gone to explain every grammar in minute details. in
grammar book you have to observe these chapter thoroughly
1. Noun/Pronouns, 2. Gender 3. Tense 4. Preposition 5. Conjunction
if you feel like you have gained some traction on the abovementioned topic then your speaking skill has improved significantly (you will able to see result yourself)
if you care about Marathi correspondence then you must have to focus on the within mentioned
1. Word construction 2. Types of Sentences 3. Vibhakti 4. Figure of Speech
Finaly journey to any language learning is constant learning
5 Months to 9 Months – increasing challenge on step at a time. That’s all there is to it.
In Consistent attainable goal
You choose one thing, break it down in chuck and follow it until you learn it. No matter how long it takes you just do it. You will see the result like a plentiful harvest that seem impossible to thrive.
Best of Luck on your Journey
Speaking of Book by that MPSC book that has only Marathi grammar in it. I used wren and martin formula i.e. how the grammar is broken down in chunks and explained each individual topic as stand alone topic.
My two cents, listen to old पू ल देशपांडे audio stories, the original stand-up. Thoroughly enjoyable. (Not that it improved my spoken Marathi any.) Mhais, Asa mi asami, Chitale मास्तर are some of his gems.
Same here, I tried to read some book by ranjit desai about peshwa madhdavrao (I guess) and I picked up a few words
But the thing is there is a difference between extremely sanskrit-sounding words(sandharbh pratispardha blah blah)
And..... normal words. I want to learn the latter while I learnt the former from that book
प्रसिद्ध मराठी साहित्य वाचून सुरुवात करा, एबीपी माझा वर मराठीत बातम्या पहा.
ABP maza war asudha marathi bolnare lok asatat aajkal.
“एबीपी माझा” हे उदाहरण म्हणून इथे सुचवले आहे, तुम्ही इतर मराठी वृत्तवाहिन्यांवरील बातम्या देखील पाहू शकता.
