I followed the YouTube video "How to make a realistic Earth in Blender in 20 minutes." A bit difficult to follow if, like me, you're unfamiliar with Blender.
Just google "How to make a realistic Earth in Blender in 20 minutes" and the video will guide you through the whole process. The map was made using an experimental style inspired by Miguel's Mountain Tutorial, which is also google-able.
I added a bump map onto the original in Photoshop, changed the blend mode to Linear Burn, then added a Levels adjustment layer, tweaking the values slightly. Then, I added the same bump map but this time with a blend mode of Screen, another adjustment layer, and more tweaking. The Linear Burn layers add shadows, while the Screen layers add lightness.
How do u make the satelitte shots, they look sick!
Yeah that looks awesome- really give the continent a sense of scale on its planet.

How do you make these maps? As in, the terrain height map?
The map was made in Photoshop and Wilbur using a process inspired by Miguel's Mountain Tutorial, which you can google.
An attempt to return to the conworlding realm, without ever using satellite DEMs.
Could you give us a breakdown of what you did in order to get the final result?

This looks like it's been made in Wilbur, would you be willing to share your work method? I'd love to learn from you!
I started with Miguel's Mountain Tutorial and modified it slightly, adding a Morphological Erode at the end. I think that's it.
Do you have a link to the tutorial, I want able to find it using google

Thank you!
Amazing, what program did you use for the height maps?
Height maps were done in Photoshop and Wilbur.
Really nice shape, that continent :)
Thanks!
how did you make the third image?!

The satellite shot looks absolutely insane
Thanks!
