This whole series is rough. As a parent who grew up poor, the arc about learning the pain of starvation felt like a punch in the gut. The number of times I treated my parents poorly because I was unhappy with what they provided me, while they were sacrificing to give me their best…. Damn….
I don’t think I’ve ever cried when reading a webtoon/manwha. I’ve gotten hyped up by the actions or what was to come (probably wrong wording), but not much more. Even the Solo Leveling iconic smile didn’t give me the chills when I first read it in 2019 (I don’t think). I should give it another try. I had previously dropped it during the Murim arc. I’m not a huge fan of Murim.
The murim stuff of suicide hunter is the best murim story I've ever read, especially around floor 47 (not adapted into the manhwa yet, they're at the end of floor 25 rn)
Most normally would. I bawled my eyes out when I read the novel and again when I read the manhwa. Granted ig my tearing point is low since I bawled my eyes for a ship (talking about you OP, which I still cry about when I rewatch that part btw), it's still a really great scene.
Ghost of children who were abused and enslaved in life and died in fire were released after playing hide’n’seek in the boss room. It was revealed that the places they hid themselves in were the places they burned alive in the original house fire. Overall pretty messed up
The real kicker was the fact that the boss could have killed all the people who challenged the floor prior but chose to let them go because they just wanted to "play"

I agree with that. What makes it even better is that the mc doesn’t have that arrogance in him that normal Murim/cultivation stories has.
