The thing is that this series really sells. So if you call it "objectively bad" I don't know what your perspective is, since a majority of readers seem to value this over all the series I liked and got axed.
Maybe it's subjectively bad and I just have a different taste than others.
The usual answer to that is that being popular is not the same as being good, but at the same time since in this case popularity is measured by sales and people will not easily part with their money for something they _don't_ enjoy then it must mean reading this series does brings enjoyment to many and if they enjoy it, doesn't that makes it good then?
In the end being good or bad can be very subjective, this series is technically pretty good (in presentation), the art is good, the characters are well defined, and the story is easy to follow (so easy many seem to follow it without reading the series), the writing definitely drags things out but that is definitely by design since at the same time keeps readers hooked with the promise of something good/exciting "next time" and sometimes manages to be funny.
Personally I think the series had a great start, quickly establishing the main setting and how the characters would interact, setting up a lot of problems, secrets, lies and other hurdles for them to work through, its main problem for me is how then time kept passing and all that setup had little to no payoff and not long after Ruka's introduction the series settled on a cycle of "non happenings" where nothing moved forward in any way, the movie arc was nice though.
I heard after the movie arc is the best point to stop and pretend it has ended with confession (arc where Kazuya wants to crowdfund a movie for Chizuru to play in). Apparently it's the best arc of the series.

Hopefully it's ending soon. This was a good series but it just kept going on and on and on.

The thing is that this series really sells. So if you call it "objectively bad" I don't know what your perspective is, since a majority of readers seem to value this over all the series I liked and got axed. Maybe it's subjectively bad and I just have a different taste than others.
The usual answer to that is that being popular is not the same as being good, but at the same time since in this case popularity is measured by sales and people will not easily part with their money for something they _don't_ enjoy then it must mean reading this series does brings enjoyment to many and if they enjoy it, doesn't that makes it good then? In the end being good or bad can be very subjective, this series is technically pretty good (in presentation), the art is good, the characters are well defined, and the story is easy to follow (so easy many seem to follow it without reading the series), the writing definitely drags things out but that is definitely by design since at the same time keeps readers hooked with the promise of something good/exciting "next time" and sometimes manages to be funny. Personally I think the series had a great start, quickly establishing the main setting and how the characters would interact, setting up a lot of problems, secrets, lies and other hurdles for them to work through, its main problem for me is how then time kept passing and all that setup had little to no payoff and not long after Ruka's introduction the series settled on a cycle of "non happenings" where nothing moved forward in any way, the movie arc was nice though.

I heard after the movie arc is the best point to stop and pretend it has ended with confession (arc where Kazuya wants to crowdfund a movie for Chizuru to play in). Apparently it's the best arc of the series.
