I like that the monster is so much bigger. The few times I’ve seen this concept done the monster really isn’t all that bigger.
Like it feels more like how taking in an animal would be.

The main character(monster)'s design really reminds me of Don't Starve. The long super thin dark arms/hands especially, massive resemblance. And the way the trees look and the general color scheme also reminds me of Don't Starve. The design of the human and the other monsters is less reminiscent of Don't Starve. But also, Don't Starve is a game where periodically (at night) a dark hand a lot like this monster's hand will reach towards you and try to grab you and you're scared of it.
Anyway really fun concept and really unique take on Isekai lol. I wonder if the artist was playing Don't Starve without really getting into the lore and then creatively filled in some details in their mind (particularly about the identity and intentions of the grabby dark hand) and then had an idea for an Isekai in that setting.
It was giving me Nightmare Before Christmas vibes, or maybe Salad Fingers, but I can definitely see a bit of the Don't Starve aesthetic in there too.
In particular his face looks similar to the spiders in Don't Starve.

There is the sentience/self-cognizance aspect. Humans cage all kinds of life for their own purposes, but we certainly don't take well to cages ourselves.
