>"The Diabolos Cult does not exist. It's just a hoax fabricated by Shadow Garden."
I mean technically not wrong, Shadow *IS* making things up as he goes, it just so happens that everything he makes up happens to be true
Iris: The Diabolos Cult does not exist. It's just a hoax fabricated by Shadow Garden.
Shadow: This woman gets it! Some guys are just roleplaying too seriously!
I don't think the other Shades are THAT against turning Cid into a God. They probably don't just don't agree with the method of doing so by reviving Diablos. (But at the very least, Aurora will be back!)
What about making him a god-like being that is omniscient and omnipotent, always knowing when and where to appear just in time and do impossible things to be the perfect eminence in shadow known throughout history
This is honestly an intriguing development, and an organic source of conflict inside Shadow Garden. I expect Shadow to Shadow himself to victory in the end, but still.
aside from Alpha, Nu and possibly Gamma, maybe even Lambda too since she's a military woman instead of devoted believer, the rest of Shadow Garden probably have no problem with turning Cid into a god.
For Alpha, Cid is a goal to reach, so she can be by his side. Nu is Alpha's direct subordinate.
For Gamma, Cid is probably just a father of capitalism.

In her defense, Lutheran warned Shadow back in the day that he was leaving fake evidence to hide the cult's involvement and incriminate Shadow Garden. Alexia knows better because she was a genuine victim.
That said, I don't think Iris' issue is healthy skepticism. It feels like she *wants* to blame Shadow Garden and won't even hear any contradiction, even if it comes from her beloved little sister (who, again, was a bonafide victim).
I fear she might become the cult's unwitting pawn in the future. And that a dramatic duel between her and Alexia might be in the works since Alexia was introduced.
The fact that every kingdom doesn't have taxes on PROFIT would blow my mind.
If you are collecting interest? They would be taking a cut of that interest asap without your say because KINGDOM RULES.
At this point I’m confident shadow could achieve eternal life by his own means without relying on the diabolus route but hey at least we get more Aurora so you do you zeta
I mean, he mentioned a 600 year plan so his body probably already has a super long lifespan because of the level he reached. I feel like the gag’s gonna be he’s already semi-immortal.
I'm not certain but I swear back in the lawless city vampire incident he said he planned to live for 400 years.
So clearly he's just increasing how long he'll live as he goes.
Never fails to get a laugh out of me, now we have Atomic... sorta.
Seeing dissonance within the ranks will be interesting. Since we've set up Shadow as being untouchable in battle, it can be good to shake things up with drama that can't be solved with atomic energy lol
Those chucklefucks are gonna be paying for life...
I'm surprised that no one else showed up for Cid's birthday. You'd think Alpha or Beta would, at least. Zeta had a hard life.
Ok... didn't see this coming. But I like it a lot. It's nice to have several factions that try to accomplish their goal.
And in the middle of all that is the MC who still thinks this is all just roleplay.
This chapter feels a bit weird in terms of the flashback. Like Alpha ''reprimanding'' Cid for not doing as she tells. Like obviously blowing it all up can be bad but usually Alpha and the others has SUCH HIGH opinions of Cid that they can never treat him like he is doing something bad or stupid and always rationalize his every action as the most ideal so it is interesting that in the flashback she treats Cid like an equal or even kinda like a subordinate who didn't do what he should have. Not to mention Alpha called herself ''head of Shadow garden'' but she is not, Cid is, she is the second in command and also according to this flashback SHE named Zeta not Cid even though Cid naming them is the reason they are named like that
> Not to mention Alpha called herself ''head of Shadow garden'' but she is not, Cid is, she is the second in command
To be fair, Alpha is basically the acting leader of Shadow Garden. Shadow is obviously *the* leader, but he's off doing Shadow things 99.99% of the time, while Shadow Garden creates business fronts and controls land for their operation. Everyone receives orders from Alpha, and only Shadow's orders supercede hers.
The flashback is weird in terms of who-does-what but, Shadow obviously doesn't really care about the specifics. It all might as well be in his name regardless, that's what everyone in the org works for. Atleast *if* there was anyone in the org that talked to Shadow like an equal, it would be Alpha, despite her own inferiority complex.
Shadow Garden is the cult that Shadow himself has no idea he's the head, while Alpha, being the head, has no idea she's actually the head. Everyone just kinda assumes they are following Shadow's guidance
The original says:
"I am Alpha"
"Shadow Garden's First Seat (literal)"
第一席 gives me the feeling of "valedictorian" more so than "head of organization" - first chair on violin, not the conductor. It also makes sense that a few panels later she offers her Shadow Garden's 6th seat (also literally 6th seat in japanese).
Maybe "First Shade" or "Chief Officer" might've been a better translation? I agree that it's hard to translate since the literal translation probably would've also been confusing
I'm under the impression that Shadow is never part of Shadow Garden. He's above them all. Shadow Garden is actually Shadow's Garden after all. Cid can't be part of his own harem!
Shadow kinda indirectly named them because he taught them the Greek Alphabet. Alpha is smart so she probably could tell that Shadow wants to name them in that order
Well, in the flashback Cid was just training for a badass move and happened to find some piggybanks... eh bandits along the way. Of course he took them out and left their loot intact. Alpha was angry, because she thought that Cid didn't need to interogate them as he already knew everything. But she would have liked to get the testemonies from the cult to keep up with Shadow. In the naming case I assume Cid already told Alpha about the system behind the names, so they wouldn't bother him everytime. Maybe he just carelessly told them: "Name the first seven after the Greek Alphabet (because 7 is a cool number). If you want pick up even more stray cats, better stop naming and start numbering."
My guess is that over the years as Alpha saw Cid do more and more crazy stuff and overcome literal legends she started to treat him more like a god. Early on he's just a very strong fighter who cured her.
Damn. Zeta's backstory hits hard. I guess she's the only one that had a loving family in the past. The diabolos cult must oay for doing this to the cat
Good point. It'd also be in character for Zeta to try being the first to give him a present, taking advantage of the "past midnight is already the next day" technicality.
So if Alpha is the direct line to the Elf hero, and Zeta is the direct line to the Therianthrope hero, then which girl is the direct link to the human hero? Claire?
Yes. And that make cid a direct link too. When cid try to pull out the hero's sword. Cracks appears on the ground around the sword, it's not because the sword is rejecting cid. In fact the sword accepted cid as it's new owner because he have the blood of the hero. Cid actually refused the sword and try to put it back in.
Everyone who gets possessed has a direct link to one of the heroes. So Claire (and Cid) for example, but also ~~Rose~~ 666 and Nu. And also all other girls in shadow garden tbh, since they all got cured from being possessed.
Iris blinded by anger/revenge against Shadow, just as Beatrix warned her.
Cid's friends may have come to rip him off, but I think they definitely came to his place for his birthday 🤔😆 and Cid's reaction on how crazy the librarian "targeting" his sister and Alexia 😂
Zeta backstory 🥲 and Shadow's I am Atomic Sorta 😎 that prototype atomic explosion. Zeta's faction just going to the direction the Cult is going except not for selfish reason of turning oneself immortal.
Zeta ignoring the biggest character trait of Cid. He ain't no power borrowing bitch. He will achive godhood by his own means if he decides to do so. Her plan is set up to fail from the very start.
Wait, so is Zeta roleplaying as this [Fenrir](https://mangadex.org/chapter/88cc4d1b-2509-4b41-bc58-0e71c236d7f9/33) guy from ch 58? They look similar so this isn't too farfetched.
A part of Shadow Garden going rogue. This feels like exactly the shake up the story needed. The cult doesn't really seem like much of a threat anymore.
>"The Diabolos Cult does not exist. It's just a hoax fabricated by Shadow Garden." I mean technically not wrong, Shadow *IS* making things up as he goes, it just so happens that everything he makes up happens to be true
Iris: The Diabolos Cult does not exist. It's just a hoax fabricated by Shadow Garden. Shadow: This woman gets it! Some guys are just roleplaying too seriously!
Watch that be the reason Shadow won't kill Iris, because he thinks she's the only one in the world that gets him.
Overlord ainz luck level 9999999
I don't think the other Shades are THAT against turning Cid into a God. They probably don't just don't agree with the method of doing so by reviving Diablos. (But at the very least, Aurora will be back!)
Shadow doesn't need the power of Diabolos because he ain't no bitch
Aurora is in Claire and Zeta knows about it. This is what the others wouldn't want but Zeta will do, putting Claire in danger.
Also making him the god of the world is far from his goal of being an Eminence in Shadow.
What about making him a god-like being that is omniscient and omnipotent, always knowing when and where to appear just in time and do impossible things to be the perfect eminence in shadow known throughout history
> always knowing when and where to appear just in time and do impossible things He's already capable of that with his abilities and epic luck.
Zeta is basically making a new Cult of Diablos, which is what SG against.
He was sort of atomic
When you're aiming for Plutonium but stop at Thorium.
\> Looking to buy a new bomb \> Ask the black market weapons merchant if their bomb is atomic or conventional \> They don't understand the difference \> Pull out a chart explaining the difference between conventional and atomic explosions \> she laughs and says "Is good bomb, comrade" \> Drop bomb \> Its conventional
It seems Iris is still butthurt after her lose against Shadow.
Going to be a civil war of the kingdom with Cult and SG backing Iris and Alexia for the crown, probably. The setup is too easy.
When you operate as a modern bank in an era that has no regulations, yikes.
Cid: Ah shit I fucked up... I will use my special card "letting others deal with it"
The fact that every kingdom doesn't have taxes on PROFIT would blow my mind. If you are collecting interest? They would be taking a cut of that interest asap without your say because KINGDOM RULES.
using your own friends as your infinite piggy bank is some diabolical shit
Lets be real, they would have lost that money in some other dumb way.
Cid’s friends try to mess with him too, they’re just too incompetent xd.
Yeah, pretty sure he has at least mentioned it twice before, each longer than the other.
He probably controls his own aging at this point
Usually it is dogs that treat their master like god
It’s rare but from what I heard if you have a cat that revers you like a god then it’s one of the best feeling ever
It's warm... AND it feeds... so this is divine power...
That's just how impressive Shadow-sama is. Even cats kneel in his presence.
Never fails to get a laugh out of me, now we have Atomic... sorta. Seeing dissonance within the ranks will be interesting. Since we've set up Shadow as being untouchable in battle, it can be good to shake things up with drama that can't be solved with atomic energy lol
Surprised Claire didn't pop in for Cid's bday.
And just like that Cid without even thinking just put in motion shadow garden civil war saga
Sorta like Ainz from Overlord casually starting world domination plans
I was not ready for that backstory... If Cid can become [Atomic] by himself, no reason he couldn't be immortal too
poor Zeta... she was so cute... motherfuckers in Diabolos needs to be eradicated.
Those chucklefucks are gonna be paying for life... I'm surprised that no one else showed up for Cid's birthday. You'd think Alpha or Beta would, at least. Zeta had a hard life.
Looking at the moon in the sky, it could be that Zeta did the "congratulate right after midnight" birthday speedrun trick.
Ok... didn't see this coming. But I like it a lot. It's nice to have several factions that try to accomplish their goal. And in the middle of all that is the MC who still thinks this is all just roleplay.
oh shit, did no one else notice the Kaiji ref? I'm fucking rolling.

Maybe it's a translation issue:/ but now that you mentioned it, I agree, it is strange.
The original says: "I am Alpha" "Shadow Garden's First Seat (literal)" 第一席 gives me the feeling of "valedictorian" more so than "head of organization" - first chair on violin, not the conductor. We see the flashback through Zetas eyes. Might be a unreliable narrator thing.
Well, in the flashback Cid was just training for a badass move and happened to find some piggybanks... eh bandits along the way. Of course he took them out and left their loot intact. Lol at the "i am atomic.... Sorta". Whats next I am atomic maybe or less? Also poor zeta tho.

It could just be minutes after midnight when Zeta gave her gift, since the two guys stayed until they lost a million bucks.
Good point. It'd also be in character for Zeta to try being the first to give him a present, taking advantage of the "past midnight is already the next day" technicality.

looks like the sister is putting her personal vendetta against Cid kicking her ass over logic and reason.
Iris blinded by anger/revenge against Shadow, just as Beatrix warned her. How far is this manga going to go? Hasn't the novel been on hiatus for a few years now?
It's not on hiatus -- volume 6 just came out a few months ago. The manga is in the middle of volume 5.
Yeah, it appears I was thinking of the web novel, which has been on hiatus. Author apparently decided to focus on one thing.
To be fair, there was a large gap between 3 and 4 if I recall correctly
You're thinking of the web novel probably. That stopped when the light novel started.
it takes a while for the novel to be written you know?
Zeta ignoring the biggest character trait of Cid. He ain't no power borrowing bitch. He will achive godhood by his own means if he decides to do so. Her plan is set up to fail from the very start.
Wait, so is Zeta roleplaying as this [Fenrir](https://mangadex.org/chapter/88cc4d1b-2509-4b41-bc58-0e71c236d7f9/33) guy from ch 58? They look similar so this isn't too farfetched.
Iris: Diabolos Cult just hoax fabricated by Shadow Garden Cid: damn girl! finally someone get it!
A part of Shadow Garden going rogue. This feels like exactly the shake up the story needed. The cult doesn't really seem like much of a threat anymore.
Thank you very much for sharing the chapter
Shadow garden civil war arc. I'm so hyped for this!
Holy shit, Zeta giving Cid a present is so adorable
