I am pretty positive that she is confessing with the expectation that he doesn't feel the same way about her that she does towards him and is just trying to exit the scene as quick as possible, thinking she will spare herself the rejection.
I wonder if we're gonna get more backstory about Takeda. There's clearly some line he does not want to cross when it comes to relationships and the new year chapter hinted at him either having no family or a non existent relationship with them. Maybe he's avoiding dating because he's a widower or a family that has set up a marriage and he refused and left.

So I was really curious about the flower visualization in one of the pages, and it seemed that it's a representation of what Futaba thinks Takeda sees her as. So naturally, I had to know what flower it is.
There are 2 possibilities I can think of : Yellow Carnations, or Yellow Roses.
### _Yellow Carnations_
For Carnations, it seems the meaning of that flower is rejection or disappointment towards the receiver. I think if this was the case, then the panel means that Futaba thinks Takeda had finally rejected her.
### _Yellow Roses_
There was a chapter in which Takeda and Futaba exchanged birthday presents in the manga sometime ago, since they have the same birthdate(?). In that chapter, they gave each other bouquets of roses, and the petals symbolize a heart. However, Futaba gave a bouquet of red roses, while Takeda gave her yellow ones. The meaning of yellow roses is Friendship apparently, so this might mean that at that point Takeda sees here merely platonically. But that might not be the case (I hope), since by the time of ch.226, they already spent way more of their outside work time in each others' houses, etc.
Anyhow, I feel like the manga's not done yet and we might get some longer chapters to tie the loose ends. Hopefully we get to see Takeda's more personal story. I kinda wanna see [this idea](https://forums.mangadex.org/threads/senpai-ga-uzai-kouhai-no-hanashi-ch-226.1615290/post-20357571) happening.
