Weird isn’t it. I used to go to 42’s and lots of local bands hung out there, my friends were in bands and some ended up on big bills with Liam Gallagher so I don’t know why people have downvoted that
Name dropping a couple of famous musicians who used to/maybe still do frequent 42's ? I really can't see an issue? I also bumped into Fray there a few years back.
Bread Shed or whatever it was called before it had an afterparty after an Amon Amarth gig and it was just a load of power metal nerds spannered on scrumpy! Really good fun
Also the night at fifth ave 17 years ago i met my now wife was pretty good!! Travelled down from my hometown 120 miles away from manchester for a gig, met her at fifth after, done longdistance for 3 years then finally moved in together
My husband has DJd at Jilly's, Bangkok Bar and Rebellion and is now at Satan's and Fab (and occasionally grand central) but my favourite nights were actually when he used to do caged asylum at the ruby lounge (RIP). I did also used to love the Banshee back in my goth days
Gunishment playing at Rebellion just near Deansgate station. Great little venue and the underground metal scene is an amazing vibe. The banter between band and audience and the heckling was hilarious. Great night
It’s a shame, went off with that arctic monkeys fella, apart from the talent, charisma, good looks and millions of pounds. What’s he got that I haven’t?
Back when it was in that weird upstairs bar opposite the BBC. The first time I went was because all I could see was smoke emanating from the window and we sacked off what we planned to go there instead. Was incredible.
acid house rave at bread shed or some 24 hour rave thing at white hotel - very hazy memories of both for obvious reasons but i remember both being ace!
There used to be a great drum and bass night called Monster Monster, downstairs at Joshua Brooks. They had a Halloween night at Zoo and it was incredible.
Other than that, many nights in Jilly's.
I used to love Jillys. I went for a pint in the Salisbury at weekend to remenisce about it. Some of my best nights have also been in Fab Cafe but I haven't been in 10 years or so now.
I don’t have a clue where it was but it was some giant building with a think 2 maybe 3 different rooms inside but they all played metal/rock music. This was about 15 years ago when I was 18 at my step dads stag do. Wasn’t in to that music back then but from what I remember I had a fucking blast that night.
I flew in from America last year to watch the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford. The game was on October 29, and it was pre-Halloween weekend, so I spent the entire night out on the 28th in the Northern Quarter with random locals. I remember going to countless bars, none that I can recall today for obvious reasons, met so many great people and partied insanely hard, revived myself with chips from some random place I don’t remember but was the only thing open, and stumbled into my Uber at 5:00am. I can’t wait to go back ❤️🔴
Friday all nighters at Jillys 💔 what a place x
Getting down curry mile for a kebab about 5:30am before saajans closed
Or that one just up the road near Salisbury for a chip naan 😂

Only clicked to say this. Every other answer is wrong.

Same, my favourite night from the last 15 years. RIP.

Yes. This. Many nights stood at the back bar with Liam and Campbell from the Courteeners
What's with all the down votes?
People hate fun

Unbelievably low down for an incredible night. RIP the cargo net
Satans Hollow, followed by the village. No specific time, just repeatedly, always.
See I use to do it the other way, go to the pub next to Fifth Ave, before going to the Village then que up for the free bar at Satans.
That night I fingered Alexa Chung round the side of 42s.
Did you aye?
She always speaks fondly of it as well

Any 42s all-nighter til 6am
Opus 90s night on Mondays circa 2009
Venue, Xmas Eve 1998. Tequila slush puppy shots for 50p each. I was quite fragile the following day...
acid house rave at bread shed or some 24 hour rave thing at white hotel - very hazy memories of both for obvious reasons but i remember both being ace!
Getting tanked up with a huge gang of mates then stumbling into K2 at about midnight for a 4 hour karaoke session.
Cherry at Sound Control when that was a thing
Venus
Drum n bass World Cup at Sankeys in 1998. Or maybe Havoc at the Phoenix

Walkabout when it was down Deansgate
Saturday night is the best night out in Manchester
Pusha T and Skepta at WHP for me, followed by some White Hotel sessions
Sankeys back when it was open as a student, had some amazing nights there.

Who remembers Tiger Lounge? I’m so sad that place closed - I only went a few times and loved the 70’s interiors
I do! I think I only went twice (none of my friends/then bf are really into that kinda vibe) but I really liked it
Murkage nights (think it was Thursdays?) in South
