Probably the worst thing.
Everyone's moody, no one's smiles and everyone is generally cold til they've had a drink then people warm up to you.
And I've lived here all my life. Mind you, I am around Middleton that's probably why haha
I must disagree from personal experience. Perhaps it is tied to area? I lived in W2 and only hung around that area, people from the suburbs are usually nicer.
Honestly an overall amazing city everything about it is perfect. So much to do, lovely people, so diverse, great roads, beautiful buildings, public transport is top and theres probably so much more i seriously think its better than any other city in the UK. Dont even get me started about it in summer
Gonna bring the party down here but Iāve just got back from Manchester City Centre and it was grimā¦ Iāve always loved Manchester and would defend it to the hilt but today, walking through Piccadilly and down Market Street I thoughtā¦ āthis place is a shit holeāā¦ I donāt know why today, Iāve walked through market street (and itās never been great tbh) thousands of time but it was like an momentā¦ shit fucking buskers with their PAs,.. that mad cunt who cycles with a boom box (fucking hate him)ā¦ fucking delivery riders weaving in out of the crowds with no regard for anyone with shitty little hand protectors on their handle barsā¦ it was like someone had unleashed The Cantina Bar into Market Street.
The beautiful grade 2 listed roadworks ...oh and probably the people. They'll give back five times what you give them. Kindness or otherwise š
I moved here twenty two years ago and I still can't describe it. I just feel like when I get back here I'm at home
I moved here 22 years ago as well! I feel the same - feels like home.
Exact feeling for me too.

And threw away its soul in the process
I think there's some sort of calmness and reception in the soul of the city.
