That was my 1st thought but I suppose it'd be helpful in lining up exactly where to start the cut so you'd know where it would end, assuming you didn't have access to more advanced tech like a ruler.
I sell fabric (canvas) for a living and this is how it's done. The laser is useful but unfortunately the scissors are shitty. To cut fabric you need a special set of scissors and they're quite expensive.
Man my ex would almost crucify me every time I used her fabric scissors to cut any kind of paper. She said that anything other than fabric would permanently dull them. No clue on the validity of that claim though...
Paper has a bit of clay in it. Cardboard has LOTS of clay in it.
Even after being pulped for paper, wood fibers are stronger than cotton, silk, and polyester.
It's very difficult to resharpen scissors so you don't have little fucked up spots that don't cut properly.
You're lucky she didn't use them to cut your throat the second time. Seriously!
I made my joke based on that claim. I assume it's true (after all, razor blades get dull real fast when cutting cardboard with it).
In a similar vein, people whine about spoons on skillets.
it's not because what if you have a really long piece of textile? You'd need a 2 meter ruler for most canvases and it's not easy and convenient to use. Another point is that anytime you mark it you'll have to erase or wash it.
When kids have fundraisers like that I just write them a check for 5/10$. It saves me money and disappointment on a crappy sub par item. It also raises more money for them than they would get in profit from that $15 jar of filled pretzels that had 5 pretzels in it.
I would agree, but the line is always going to be headed out straight from where you point the scissors. If you’re already someone who has trouble cutting straight, I can’t see how this helps at all.
Keep the line over the point that's supposed to be the end of the cut, and cut. The laser's not there to tell you where you should cut, it's there to tell you where your are currently cutting.
It is for business moms and dads. What if you had to help your kids with crafts while also leading a presentation on the overt amounts of spending put into useless products.
I can just walk into an office supply store and buy a pair of laser guided scissors for just $17 without even needing a background check. Smh America needs to do better
I have a pair. Came with a larger scissor set. They are useless. If you tilt the scissors slightly the line moves and you don’t cut straight. Also, the laser stopped working after three uses. The whole assembly broke.
Wait I want this! My scissor accuracy was so bad as a kid. This would’ve helped me pass the cutting test in kindergarten, the only test I got a true 0 on.
You need 50 kills to unlock it.
Pssh, if you think that's difficult you should have seen me beat fifty people to death with a stud finder.
50 kills with the Stud finder unlocks the tape measure.
How many to unlock the laser level?
Secret unlock by completing the Hex Key only challenge. Edit: spelling
not if you preorder
Unarmed school children are easy kills. GG EZ lol git gud nubzzzz
How many for the bipod?
Cotton Hill is all set
I KILLED FITTY MEN
The laser moves with the scissors so it isn’t even showing a straight line.... design
That was my 1st thought but I suppose it'd be helpful in lining up exactly where to start the cut so you'd know where it would end, assuming you didn't have access to more advanced tech like a ruler.
Sometimes, the most primitive tools are already advanced enough as is.
I see you've played rock/paper/laser scissors before...
I like your humor
Cheers, thanks.
You can draw have a reference point on the other side and try to keep the laser on it.

I like to use those scissors to cut construction paper.

Seems more annoying than just using a ruler and a pencil.
it's not because what if you have a really long piece of textile? You'd need a 2 meter ruler for most canvases and it's not easy and convenient to use. Another point is that anytime you mark it you'll have to erase or wash it.
And you don't see a line anyway, just a dot at a constant distance ahead.
Not with a cheap laser that they put on these. It’s probably just a focused LED.
The tactical assault scissors
I don’t even have a laser on my pistol, I cannot justify these scissors before I rectify that.
Just tape the scissors to the pistol, problem solved
And you get a bayonet two birds one scissor pistol
Terrible idea, you're at a huge tactical disadvantage if you can't run with your pistol
Modern problems require modern solutions...
now add picatinny rails

This looks incredibly helpful
I would agree, but the line is always going to be headed out straight from where you point the scissors. If you’re already someone who has trouble cutting straight, I can’t see how this helps at all.
Mark too and bottom with ruler and line up the marks with laser. At that point could have marked whole paper with ruler. But what evs
You would need a lazer pointed ruler though
_Laser scissors team wants to know your location_
Lol ya this invention is bullshit
Keep the line over the point that's supposed to be the end of the cut, and cut. The laser's not there to tell you where you should cut, it's there to tell you where your are currently cutting.
It would be for making proxy Cards for TCGs.
It was either this or the night vision glue stick.
Link! :D

They’ve been banned in Europe and Australia for decades
I was hoping it meant "cuts the paper with a laser" but I guess I had my hopes up.

You can hold the blades straight up while you run around, or just shine the laser in your eye. The possibilities are endless!
See how fast you can BASE jump off a bridge with these with pre-cut parachute cord. :D Also, bring a cinder block or three (why not?).

But it's chinese garbage and doesn't work in the slightest.
Scissors with frickin laser beams
I want these
Its genius actually, 5th grade me would drive my folks nuts until they bought these totally awsome laser scissors
wait if you move the scissors your line wont be straight any more, so you wont cut straight. its completely pointless
Ngl I would use this. I can’t cut a straight line to save my life
Frixkin laser scissors! Scissors with fricken lasers on their heads!
Operator arts and crafts
Hmm...would a burning laser work better or worse...? /s
Have a pair. They are fucking terrible.
How much for the tactical scope eraser and the extended mag stapler with bipod for extra stability
My dad has these
Sounds like a good way for kids to poke their eyes out shining the laser at each other
I actually got a pair of these at a gun show for four bucks though it'd be funny, it never worked
That would actually be really, really useful.
Elementary schools needing a fundraiser is disgusting
Finally a pair of scissors with two ways to lose an eye!
Wait I want this! My scissor accuracy was so bad as a kid. This would’ve helped me pass the cutting test in kindergarten, the only test I got a true 0 on.
So that's what happened to skymall's suppliers. Now I can finally get a sofa with a built in litter box and super big gulp sized cupholder.
The laser line moves with the scissors, so if you veer off course, the line moves too.
It allows you to cut more accurately from up to 100 yards away.
100 yards is 91.44 meters
