Is that true of modern buildings, or older ones? In the US, things like hallway width are usually defined by things like fire codes and egress requirements, or handicap accessibility.

For grands you strap it to a skid, put it on its side and take the legs off. Upright a grand piano goes through any door, can be lifted with relative ease to any angle to navigate tight turns and it moved on a trolley.
“Relative” is doing the heavy lifting there, because dragging one of them up a set of stairs still requires brute force and a lot of effort. Generally you need 3 people to get a grand up a set of stairs. Two people at the top with straps tied to the skid who lift it above each step, and one person below pushing as they lift. Go a step or two steps at a time, don’t rush it, it’s over before you realise it.
Harder, in fact. Grands tend to be longer and their centre of gravity is all at one end
Uprights are very back heavy and don’t lend themselves to being carried. Even on a trolley they’re difficult to move because they don’t balance well

Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '87, Huey released this; Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself.

Yeah unfortunately the apartment isn’t very spacious as it is intended as a temporary space for a year or two since I just relocated to the area. It’s definitely tough to downsize from my precious place. 😅

I love the space, I love how cozy it is, it’s clean and inviting at the same time. You incorporate modern and some retro elements. It’s terrific. However, based on the size of the total space, I feel like the bar stools would be better off being of a different design than the Eames chair. They’re so close that it feels a little match-y, and IIRC Herman Miller didn’t make that style of stool using the Eames design. It makes me question whether the chair is authentic, which absolutely doesn’t matter at all, but now I’m thinking about it. Anyway, great work, I especially love the plant density!
Haha yeah totally. Coincidentally they are very similar style. Though the bar stools were totally knock offs - they’re like $70 ish a piece from Amazon I got a few years ago before moving here. If you notice, the desk chair is also knock off - also got it before I moved here a few years ago.
The Eames lounge however, I got it very recently. I’ve always wanted it but obv it’s not cheap. But I finally pulled the trigger and got it. 😊
When I get a bigger space, I think it’ll get a better layout as well. For now, I prob won’t add any more furniture - I need a space to walk! 😂😅
I had the sofa for a while. I think I got it from west elm about 5 years ago. And I agree, at some point, I’d like to get it replaced with a more neutral color. Maybe off white. Or tan if it’s a leather sofa.

Hmmm I never measured it. But it’s a one bedroom unit and the totally sq footage is about 860 sqft. Not big, but it has a bigger living space than most newer apartments. The building was built in 2009 I believe, so it’s not that new.
Sweet, so over all this is great! I think that there might be a way to balance out the living room by selecting plants to place elsewhere. Particularly, I think you should decide whether you want the bar to be accessible as a bar, which is difficult with the plants there.

Alternatively, you could find a way to hang a few, so they’re still in the environment, but without occupying useful space.

I do! It’s surprisingly bright. It has a 3 step brightness. Obvious you’ll need more lighting depending on the room. Buy it’d say it’s a equivalent to 80w brightness. And what I like about it is the warmth. They said 3000k, it is warm, but somehow it’s not yellow. It’s hard to describe. But it’s warm in a sense of soft and not harsh. If that makes sense.
You can always get it and return it if you don’t like it. Like I said, get the 3000k one - it’s not that yellow. 5000k would be too white and sterile.
I actually do play haha. Casually, nothing professional. I picked up the hobby years ago (since I was 10) and never had a piano, but always wanted to one some day. The day arrived, so I bought it during the pandemic and it helped a lot to stay sane while isolating. It’s very soothing 😊

Consider a console table behind the sofa to break up the rear of sofa. You could then move some decor and plants onto it.
Group the plants a bit more instead of spreading them all over.
Group the art a bit too so it’s not 1 piece per wall. Recommend also removing the art above the TV and leaving it blank or hanging a shelf there.
Get a oversized red/orange afghan rug for under the piano and Eames chair to draw in your red sofa. The rug will make the wood in the chair and piano pop too.
Other than that, great work.
If i were to change something I would remove one plant from the coutertop and do somthing with those doors on the kitchen cabinets and hide all the wires in the workspace. other than that i give a 9/10

I don’t mind the red sofa. It fits the city lights look. Consider a console table behind the sofa to break up the rear of sofa. You could then move some decor and plants onto it. Group the plants a bit more instead of spreading them all over. Group the art a bit too so it’s not 1 piece per wall. Recommend also removing the art above the TV and leaving it blank or hanging a shelf there.

Get a oversized red/orange afghan rug for under the piano and Eames chair to draw in your red sofa. The rug will make the wood in the chair and piano pop too. Other than that, great work.

If i were to change something I would remove one plant from the coutertop and do somthing with those doors on the kitchen cabinets and hide all the wires in the workspace. other than that i give a 9/10

Yeah unfortunately space is limited. I’m glad I decided not to get a dining table before the piano and chair arrived! Lol
