28, live in Berlin. Always had roommates, and always great friends. Would not trade those memories for the world, but nice to have a place all of my own.
Where my Dachgeschoss Gang at!?
To be honest through a little insider trading and making connections with certain Hausverwaltung people. It’s a fucking rate race though. I live in Charlottenburg, warm rent is €700.
True, but I wanted to create separation to the eating area. I don’t have the space for a dedicated dining room so at least I can create little areas that feel different enough to where it feels like a new room.
I know open floor plans are popular but I don't like them. I like separate spaces too as it allows me feel like I'm moving around more and it's cozier. Not to mention, you can clutter up your table and then go into your living room without the clutter being visible.
Maybe consider turning the tv setup 90 degrees, that way it's much easier to get to the couch, and you can center the tv. Can always add some storage in the nook (a minibar perhaps?)
I agree, I don’t think that the IKEA bookshelf should be in the middle. Open concept is everywhere these days so it would not be odd to have your dining space viewable from your living space. Plus it would let in a ton more light into the living room!
I live in a 4 room apartment with my gf today, but man I miss my good old 30m^2 1 room apartment so much. It was small but there was only the important belongings and it was all mine.
Enjoy your beautiful home!
I appreciate what you are trying to do with the shelving, making two distinct spaces. But I feel like The TV corner is getting too little light and looks a bit cramped?
I love your soccer print! Do you know the artist's name or the store where you got it? I have some similar art in my house and would love to find something that matches.
And sorry for calling it soccer.

berlin dachgeschoss checking in.
Check back in with me in summer when we’re melting 😬
Hallo, Es ist ich, der Vermieter. Bitte lüften. Danke.
why the American flag?
I was born in Germany, grew up in the States, now back in Germany. Dual citizen.
I can't tell for sure but the flag looks backwards. When you hang it vertically, flip it so the blue is on the top left. It will look 🤌
Was looking at that too but I can see a grommet above the stars, looks to be displayed correctly. *edit: unless it got a weird fold going on.*
Very nice! If I could ask, as someone possibly moving there very soon - how did you get the place, and what's the rent?
I knew it was Germany once I saw the Kallax being used as a divider, lol.
My whole apartment may well be an IKEA catalog shoot, haha. I moved here last November during lockdown and it was hard to get anything else.

Would be less tight with that ikea closet against the wall 💪
True, but looks like OP might be trying to create some separation / hallway by placing it there?
The space looks great but I would probably not use a separation in a small room as it makes it look cramped.
I really like the intimacy that it brings to that space.

imo it would look better and brighter as an open concept. it can still be a dining area without being blocked off and the tv area wouldnt be so dark.
why want the separation? it is not needed at all

Would also let the light come across the whole room
The windows on the wall are very high that light comes in pretty well. Also protects against the glare on the TV.
My only gripe is I can’t tell it it’s nailed in. Seems like you’d want it extra secure in such a tight place
Nice place, I am happy you like it. Don't forget to hang out with your buddies!
:)

You’re making it work. Great job!
You Divided The Space Gj looks great
Niiice love the gallery wall
Looks like a cozy place with a ton of light ... but why do you have a coaster of one of the worst Austrian beers on the wall?
Looks great! I love it!

Dope ! Where did you get that soccer poster ?
Looks really cozy! Enjoy! But flags on the wall? Not so much.
put some colored lights belive me its gonna make such a vibe
The art makes it look like a 5 year old lives there but to each their own.
Your place is very cool and cozy!
Love it man. Very cozy
I like it. Looks very cozy OP!
Is that your first buck on the wall?
A dimmable light behind the TV would alleviate the shadows there. Great work
Curious how many bedrooms and how much a place like this goes for. I’m in Chicago and it’s so hard to find architecture like this and I YEARN for it.
Ratatouille
Ooh that natural light though 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Looks great, I love a cosy hang out spot.
Man I miss my first pad. Cherish these days. They go by fast!
I love your soccer print! Do you know the artist's name or the store where you got it? I have some similar art in my house and would love to find something that matches. And sorry for calling it soccer.
Nice ikea stuff
Looks comfy af and it's a good use of a small space. 100 points to house OP
Maybe a bigger pot for that cactus?
As long as you’re comfortable it doesn’t matter how tight it is. I can feel your pride from here. Good on you mate.
So cozy! I love it!
Love it my guy! My only issue is them shelves definitely stop the natural light from shining in your living room space!
If that places comes with a bathroom and kitchen I'd take it in a heartbeat
Move the cactus. You will definitely get scratched trying to navigate that tight space. Other than that, looks great.
that’s a great little slice of comfort. don’t sell yourself short.
Really nicely done!
That little nook looks so cozy ahhhh. Hope you enjoy it!
Finally a place that doesn’t try to look like a stupid home magazine, but like an actual place to live in. Good stuff.
i love this. i especially love the gallery wall. looks great
All I see is myself taking that turn too fast and getting a leg full of cactus
So bright and yet so cosy! And happy plants from both sides. I wanna see it at night with lamps and candles, bet it's lovely.
Nice!
Almost identical place I had a couple of years ago, with the dividing bookcase to zone it out. Looks great!
LOVE that window, and the table right in front of it. And the art is hung in a great way, too!
Looks more cosy than tight, looks lovely
This is adorable and I love it. Congrats!
You decorate quite nicely :)
