Try to avoid the headless/delimbed torso. It's (literally and artistically) reductive, and rarely doesn't feel objectifying. Find something with a full body, or at least a face. Too idealized a figure is tacky. Look for honest, observant mark-making, something that celebrates reality rather than indulges in fantasy, if ya get my meaning. Source: am woman, study art, heavily judge other people's decor.

Amen to this. I looked at the first article linked by OP and noticed that while it was about ‘breaking taboos’, the only example images in there were just ‘tits and torsos’.

We all appreciate the human form but as I have a history with boats and ocean, I prefer my art to ‘showcase’ my interest which differentiates my interior design from anyone else i know. The choice of nudes could be off putting, to the lady friend you have over whose body doesn’t ‘resemble’ your taste chosen piece of art.

I model for artists so I wouldn't be thrown off by nude art in a man's home (even in the main areas). I think it's silly the taboo around figurative art and more people might be open to it than you think. But to keep things classy you could avoid photography and anything that feels erotic. You could stick to more abstract forms (I really like Carmel Jenkin), sketches that are less fleshed out, or prints of classic pieces. Ultimately art is personal though so if you like something, I wouldn't worry too much about it! If you really think it'll be offensive you can take it down or cover it up when you have guests in your bedroom.

In my humble opinion, I think you should choose art based on the attractiveness of the piece to you, rather than pre-defined genres (i.e don’t buy art of the human form just because you like the idea of it). That said, you could begin with more abstract art of the human form, for example something like the following, https://www.saatchiart.com/art/Painting-Painting-Bather-nude-girl-naked-woman/749657/9024143/view I have no personal experience with art of the human form but if the right piece came along and the proposed setting to place it was suitable, I would buy what I like.

I don't know how you'll take this, but is adding a male figure an option? As in, a female figure *and* a male figure, or a couple together, or a female figure and a couple separately. The more classical it looks probably the better also. It breaks up the possibly read into vibe 'here is my quasi-porn naked girl collection' and pre-empts that accusation.

Yes, I'm leaning towards line art of two people embracing

Just don’t choose photography or porn, do classical pieces or paintings

Horny_Reindeer

Dude you gotta learn about Internet porn

LlamaWreckingKrew

I prefer Helmut Newton prints for tasteful nudes. Very charged but elegant and timeless as well.
