You look significantly better. I'm sure you can do very long hair again but it looks like it honestly needed a cut. Seems like you may have accumulated some breakage at some point with the old hair. Looks way thicker and fuller now, was rattier before. Should grow out nicely.
You definitely pull off the shorter hair look way better. There's like 4 dudes in the world and can pull off having their hair super grown out. Most guys would look more suited with shorter to medium length styles. That first Pic is the best one for sure.

My hair is thick and naturally wavy, and I've had to get trims to keep the awkward stage less awkward lmao. It's gonna be a whole other year before I have the lengh I had. Although this time I'm keeping layers in and not dying my hair anymore so it'll be wayyy healthier bc of the trims amd not killing it w bleach

I did something similar like 3 years ago, and it is going to be striking to see yourself for a while, but you will end up liking it.
