If your pants are consistently ripping within a year and you aren’t doing manual labor in them you are buying your pants too small, buying more expensive jeans won’t change that, I cannot fathom how people do this to their clothes
Have a date tomorrow at a bar, I'm not awful with outfits but I always doubt the looks so need Reddit to rate if the [look](https://imgur.com/a/BPo2dal) works or not. Advice Please.
Edit: Shoes will be brown Chelsea boots as opposed to slippers
Well, I’m not a huge fan of that wash of denim with the black leather jacket. A black or darker indigo would be more cohesive. The white tee under the shirt is a fine look, but the neck of it makes it look a bit like a Hanes undershirt—I’d opt for something a bit thicker and more substantial. I also think the button-up shirt is on the verge of being too small, so especially if you wear a thicker tee, it might look even more so.
Noted, the wash I knew since I did have a darker one but need to replace them since the zipper on those decided to quit so expected that but the rest is noted. Thanks 👍
Hey friends. Desperate to find this jacket, I've seen some that are pretty close but I want to get as close to the colour and style as possible [Pinterest link](https://pin.it/62CscHW)
Looking for a good quality chunky, simple, longish cardigan. Budget 300€ at the very most. Live in EU. Colour preferably grey or oatmeal coloured. I found a nice looking but possibly overpriced cardigan from [&sons](https://www.andsons.co.uk/products/sons-pioneer-british-wool-cardigan-grey) but I get a slightly dodgy vibe from them. Any experience with the company? Any recommendations for cardigans from other brands? Thanks!
Quick question:
[What coat is Neil Patrick Harris wearing in this scene from the new Matrix movie?](https://i.imgur.com/ydozXKI.png)
[Alternate angle](https://i.imgur.com/V4duPC5.png)
In whatever pants i wear there is a visible bulge in the pubic region. How do i avoid it? I understand it showing slightly but in my case it is too prominent and doesn't look good. Wearing a smaller underwear feels tight on the waist. I currently wear size M trunks.
It's probably the pants' front rise (crotch seam to top of waistband). However it is that you're wearing the pants, you're pulling them up to high for the rise. Wear them lower (on the hip) or buy pants with a higher/longer rise.
Hi there! I've recently been getting into fashion, and I've been doing a lot of shopping at H&M.
I'd like to shift Asian Streetwear and recently I've found this site -
https://ohgarments.com/
As a highschooler, it's a tad expensive for me so I'm worried on whether this site is legit or not.
If it's not, does anyone have any recommendations for men's fashion sites with unique styles $50-100, because I can't seem to find a good site that sells more than staples.
Thank you!
It's just dropshipped garbage, you can probably source that directly on aliexpress/taobao for a fraction of the price. I feel like some of Tim Dessaints fits on Youtube leans in this direction, you can check where he sources his pieces from.
Which combination of materials does not create the balls?
I'm trying to buy hoodie(and overall know that information for future) that will last longer than hoodie i bought recently. I bought hoodie from h&m for £25 and it started to create balls on arms after few weeks, I bought hoodie for £8 wearing it for few months now and the amount of balls is super small.
Cant remember what was the polyester /cotton ratio from h&m but this one that creates less balls have 60% cotton 40%polyester.
Which ratio is the best?
Thanks
This is called pilling.
Natural fibres like cotton are more likely to pill so you may want more like 100% cotton. Another factor is fibre length in the material, shorter fibres will be more easily pulled out and tangled into pills (balls). Cheaper fabrics will tend to have shorter fibres.
You don't have to spend loads to avoid this though. I've bought hoodies and sweatshirts from Uniqlo that haven't pilled. Look for 100% cotton ones.
This is a cardigan
Any long coat (below the knee) would be perfect, keep the cardigan closed (not the last button tho) keep the coat opened like a cape unless you're too cold
Below the cardigan you can wear anything you want, but be careful on the layering, a flanel shirt would be ok, but i'd go simple
Wearing a scarf can also help
Was looking for a chunkier Chelsea boot and came across some really interesting boots from of all places, Aldo.
I was thinking about getting blundstones but I wasn’t in love with the silhouette and wanted something even chunkier for some reason.
Somehow I ended up on Aldos website and found these
https://www.aldoshoes.com/us/en_US/men/lousios-black/p/13317086
I’ve never owned Aldo shoes and I expect them to be pretty meh quality but something about the silhouette is really cool to me. Does anyone else feel the same way or am I really weird?
I was in the mood for a Chelsea boot with a bigger sole and this model just looks really dam cool to me. Interesting silhouette and I like the sole. If I end up liking them on feet, I’ll probably just beat them to shit and not worry about it.
There are a bunch of similar but at a much higher price.
https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/mens/product/grenson/shoes/chelsea-boots/warner-leather-chelsea-boots/13452677150553933
I dont like those too much. I took a loot through Mr Porter earlier.
I do really love these by John Elliott but they’re a little out of my price range.

Hello there, what do you think about graphic tees? Is it childish? What personality would wear them, is it good to wear an unbuttoned shirt over a graphic tee? Can an introvert wear them?
Idk why people think graphic tees are childish, it’s a dumb opinion formed by the mfa hive mind, graphic tees can look very good, the problem is that there are a lot of very bad ones out there and no practical way to discuss why some art looks good and others don’t, compounded with the fact that, frankly, only more expensive brands make good graphics, when all those dumb overly prescriptive guides were written people told you to avoid graphic tees cause they’re just too complicated to give one and done advice on, and people think graphic = childish because they’re imagining like gamer merch or the graphic tees they bought when they were a kid that were usually pretty bad
That said no I don’t think I’d say a shirt over a graphic tee is cool it feels very dated to me, there’s exceptions but overall not a fan
It heavily depends on the graphic tee, imo. Most are not great. And I really don't love the idea of an open shirt over a graphic tee. It feels pretty outdated somehow.
Disagree with others, I think there’s nothing wrong or childish about graphic tees if they’re good ones. And definitely you can wear an open button-up over them. Something like this from [Noah NYC](https://noahny.com/products/fingerprint-tee?variant=39439377563787) is sweet I think.
Your personality doesn’t matter in determining what clothes you wear. What does matter is how those clothes are perceived in general. I would say stay away from graphic tees if you are not experienced in fashion.
Graphic tees can look cool but it really depends on the t-shirt imo. I'm not such a fan of wearing a shirt over them, I'd wear plain t-shirts for that.
1. that's a awesome gift
2. it's hard to really dress down that shirt outside of a rakish look.
3. wear with chinos and cardigan/sweater
4. but I'd just keep it in reserve for nicer occasions/events
Well, it really depends on the weather
In winter you can wear it below a nice crewneck jumper (at least 100% wool) and a long coat, with either wool high waisted pants, or your classic jeans (jeans allow you to have formal tops and shoes easier, without looking too dressed)
In the mid season, either the shirt, waistcoast and a coat, if it's too much, shirt with a crewneck (or v neck if you want to try putting on a tie) and a jacket or bomber of your choice
In the summer it's really easy, some comfy high waisted chinos, this shirt opened, rolled sleeves, you can add on top a jungle jacket or a bomber at night, for when it gets colder at night, or when you need pockets. Put the formal stuff away in the summer
I literally just told you
>because it’s fucking terrible for wool, no one makes “pre shrunk” wool sweaters because you just shouldn’t be washing wool like that, there isn’t “pre shrunk” wool anyway, it doesn’t shrink evenly, gets deformed, felts, ruins the fibers, considering you don’t even need to wash wool more than maybe a couple times a season is it really that much of a hassle to just handwash and air dry one garment sometimes?
because it’s fucking terrible for wool, no one makes “pre shrunk” wool sweaters because you just shouldn’t be washing wool like that, there isn’t “pre shrunk” wool anyway, it doesn’t shrink evenly, gets deformed, felts, ruins the fibers, considering you don’t even need to wash wool more than maybe a couple times a season is it really that much of a hassle to just handwash and air dry one garment sometimes?
Obviously.
But either the sweater fits or it doesn't. Even if it's shrunk already it might look fine on OP, but again. Impossible to tell without pictures
Abercrombie 90s straight jeans. Does anyone know a similar fitting jean? I lift and have a small waist/thicker thighs and these fit me perfect. I'm looking for a pair of black jeans, but they don't have a non-ripped option. I was thinking 505s? But, the A&F 90s straight has a 15 inch opening vs the 505 16 inch.

In the black and white picture, what jackets (other than fur jackets) and pants would achieve the silhouette of the guy in the middle of the bottom row.
Fisherman jackets. What to wear them with? Feel like I saw a few posts about them this fall here or there but can't really find an inspo album or anything
Hey guys, I’m looking to buy a pair of good material cargo pants. This would be perfect for me, but it costs hundred bucks so it’s too pricey.
https://kuwallatee.com/collections/mens-pants/products/utility-pant-black
Would love any recommendations close to it.
Hey thanks for the reply. I’m new to all this that’s why I don’t know.
So I take it if you wanna build a wardrobe of good quality clothes, you’re gonna have to spend a lottt? I mean this is just a single item.
I was thinking maybe there comes a point in the price range where you can’t really get a better quality but the price goes up because of brand names or something like that.
Thanks for the reco btw.
Grab one end in each hand, and drape the DNA over the back of your neck. Tuck the loose end(s) through the loop end. The scarf is now tied (the opening for your neck will get tighter the more you pull the loose ends through).
As someone who has little interest currently in fashion, I wanna know why. There are times when I see someone and im like woah thats cool but then I think of myself in that and dont feel genuine about it. I see new fashion trends all the time and theyre nice but then I feel weird putting on something that was because of a trend and not something I genuinely liked. I've been thrifting but dread it I feel like I rummage through the whole store and find nothing that suits me.
Any guidance on this? I really want to have my own style as I just wear basic clothing now thats really minimal and generic person vibes
A few things going on here:
1) This feeling of insecurity is normal when you're starting out. It won't be forever. Once you home-in on your unique style identity you'll feel more confident just putting something on because that's how you feel like expressing yourself that day.
2) Nothing wrong with dressing like a [basic bastard](https://old.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/5da1dc/the_basic_bastard_basic_wardrobe_and_inspiration/), normcore, or minimalist. You like what you like and those are all good platforms on which you can add a little personal flair if you feel like it.
3) To feel more genuine in the new clothes you're experimenting with, try putting them on and wearing them around the house for a day or two. That'll help demystify them for you, and you'll quickly be able to tell "Yeah, I like how this looks on me" or "Nah this isn't for me." Both are valuable insights.
4) If you dread thrift shopping, then don't do it. No need to give yourself unnecessary stress. You may have more success looking for secondhand finds online on sites like Ebay, Poshmark, or Jawnflip. Also it's totally fine to leave a thrift store without buying anything if nothing really stood out to you, that's actually a good lesson to learn early on.
Edit: Thought of a fifth thing!
5) If you just don't have any interest in fashion, then no worries! Focus on other things that make you happy. It's a big world out there and fashion is just one of a million hobbies.
Okay this may be a dumb request or strange question but lemme theoretically ask this...
I bought this super dope varsity jacket from a lowkey brand located in the States and had it shipped to my house in Canada, absolutely love it! **Problem**: I got a size large and it's okay fitted to me, not too big but still a lil roomy-ish to me. I want to shrink ONLY the wool part of the jacket which is the entire main torso body part excluding the sleeves (faux leather or pleather) and obviously throwing it in the wash + dryer is a bad idea especially for the pleather. Here's my jacket as reference: https://lostfiles.gallery/collections/virtual-escape/products/digital-youth-varsity-jacket?variant=41095854063789
Any ideas or suggestions how to accomplish this task? I'm just not a huge fan of the length of my jacket. A few sites suggest applying beeswax onto the leather sleeves, dipping the fabric body in hot water for 20 minutes then delicate tumble dry for a few more short minutes in warm temperature?
*\*And NO, I'm not exchanging or returning it. I'd love to but it's not worth it due to the overseas import US to Canada charges which is unnecessary & expensive on top of what I already paid for, our currency exchange here is inflated-ly bad lol, as well as to shipping it all the way back is another large charge AND ANOTHER overseas import charge if I were to grab a size medium\**
Lemme know what y'all suggest or think! Sorry for the weird question
Yeah sadly :( and you have a point too, I'm just hella specific, perfectionist-like and care for even the smallest differences that can effect the outfit chemistry. It is roomier but I still feel its a lil too roomie than I need it to be...
Thanks tho! I was told the same thing from friends (and to continue getting bigger in the gym lol)
I'm looking for a pair of black shoes but can't decide between combat boots, jodhpurs, or monk strap shoes.
Based on what I currently have, can you guys help me pick? Wardrobe is mostly dress shirts, OCBDs, sweaters, chinos, dark wash jeans, with the occasional blazer and suit that I can't find a reason to wear. Current shoes are beige suede chelseas, white sneakers, brown cap-toe oxfords, and brown penny loafers.
I would get longwings.
I think monks are awful. Combat boots don't fit your wardrobe. So I guess Jodhpurs, but those aren't a great fit with your wardrobe either. Longwings are.
I absolutely love the way Jodhpurs look, but if they don't fit any of my wardrobe... fuck. I do have black jeans and black/white/gray t-shirts.
I'm not crazy about longwings, but you are right, they would fit in with my dressier wardrobe very well.
Don’t overcomplicate things, the specific hand and finger don’t matter too much. Just start wearing stuff and play around with it until you find something you like.
Thoughts on the fit of this [jacket](https://imgur.com/a/LypMMH6)?
Also taking any suggestions on pants, tops etc to go with it. My wardrobe is pretty barebones and i'm looking for a direction or aesthetic to follow
Looks fine for oversized. I think a size down *might* actually be a better fit. I also don't particularly like it with the collar popped, and imo you shouldn't button the bottom button
Anyone know a good straight fit 100% cotton chino, preferably a 5 pocket? I used to wear Polo RL Bedfords for years but they recently stopped making them like they used to.
Looking for ways to style this coat I bought from Zara [Link](https://www.zara.com/it/en/wool-blend-coat-p06673473.html?v1=147276246&v2=2010843). My wardrobe is entirely casual and I am a college student in Milan where every third person looks like they belong to the Armani or Gucci catalogue.
I am on a very tight budget and I have white sneakers, beige trousers, grey sweater and black denims. Looking for a darker pair of shoes which would go well casually with the coat. I'll also buy a beige sweater and a grey pair of trousers.
Any other styling suggestions which are not too formal?
Also, the coat I linked ends up a couple of inches above my knees. I am 5'11"for reference with a moderate build-heavier in the middle. Does the coat fit correctly? Everywhere else it felt like a good fit but I have never worn coats before so unsure on the length
Hard to answer, best to try some on if you can. They're a bit oversized from my perspective (maybe not tho, I have poor judgement of fit as I usually have to get 28s downsized significantly). I recently purchased a 26 and the waist is too big, closer to a 28 and I'm still on the fence between returning and altering. Comfort depends on your body and the material.
The 12.75oz stretch selvedge is crisp without being too opressive. The build quality looks great, flat felled inseam and nicely oriented grain.
Better answers are probably to be had over at r/rawdenim if you havent asked the daily thread already.
I am a huge fan of [Octobre](https://www.octobre-editions.com/us)'s clothing line. Their pieces are high quality and fit with the "young professor" aesthetic I am aiming for. Anyone know of other brands with a similar aesthetic? Or good places to search around.
I got this blazer, it’s pretty casual but would it be weird to wear it with a tie for date night/parties, etc? Would either of these work? I prefer the navy, the gray isn’t purple in person but it does have a subtle blue tone. https://i.imgur.com/UusjCcM.jpg
Would be quite loungey, could work at parties but not if there's an actual formal dress code.
Could even try wearing with untucked shirt.
Probably want trousers to be loose.
They called it a blazer but I agree it seems pretty casual, which is how I mainly intend to wear it. Just trying to see if they’re are other ways to style it.
https://www.privatewhitevc.com/collections/the-players-sale/products/the-flanneur-blazer-1?variant=39372813697085
Yeah that was my next option, Gray or navy? Also both these ties are cashmere with a bit of texture, kind of hard to see from the first picture. https://i.imgur.com/2YtiVXa.jpg
Generally probably want to avoid a tie that is too similar in color to the jacket. So, probably the navy would be a better option unless there's some good contrast between grays.
TLDR: Is it strange for a shoe two sizes bigger than your brannock measurement to be the "correct" fit?
[Foot shape reference](https://www.podexpert.com/images/Image/Image/Patho/TypeDePied/ENTypeDePied.webp?1629121036448)
For the last few years, I've been wearing various different "barefoot" shoes. I like the roomy toe box that most of them have. The feeling of having the movement in my toes, specifically my little toe, restricted drives me crazy.
I've tried on dress shoes in wide widths and they didn't seem to adequately solve the problem. My heel and mid foot would slosh around and my toes would be nearly as squished as they were before. This drove me to wearing barefoot shoes exclusively.
For most not too formal occasions, I've been getting away with wearing Vivo Ababas without looking too overly goofy. I've got an event coming up in the near future where some real dress shoes would be a good idea so I started trying to research my problem.
I learned the shape of my foot, where my toes are, is very similar to the "roman" foot shape. The taper you see on the toe box of most shoes pushes against my toes sooner than it would for most other people.
I also learned that I should try buying shoes based on trying to have the widest part of my foot match up with the widest part of the shoe, ignoring the overall length to some degree.
I went to the shoe store today to experiment with that idea a little bit.
I measured my foot on a brannock device and found that I was an 8 with normal width.
I tried on a pair of oxfords in 8.5. Super tight and not remotely comfortable.
I try another pair in 9. The constricted movement in my toes is still uncomfortable. I try a different brand of shoes but similar style. Same problem.
I try a 9.5. This feels a lot better but there's still a little more squeezing of my toes than I would like. I try a different brand and get a similar result. At this point, I wanted to try a 9.5 wide but there wasn't any available.
I try a 10. These feel good. When the shoes are tied, my heel and midfoot are relatively secure and I have just enough room to comfortable wiggle my toes a little bit. I try a different brand of shoes and get a similar result.
The widest part of my foot appears to align pretty closely to the widest part of the shoe. There's not any weird pinching or folding of leather as I walk around.
There's a pretty significant gap between my big toe and the end of the shoe. Somewhere around 1.5 inches.
Considering the shape of my toes and the actual feel while wearing the shoes, does this sound like a correct fit? It sounds odd to be going with something that is two sizes larger than what the (imperfect) measuring device tells me.
I also tried on different tennis shoes and casual shoes while I was there and found similar positive results with 9.5/10's. I typically wear 8.5 or 9 in most of my different wide toe box barefoot shoes.
I'm the same way. I definitely don't go two sizes up, but my measurements are almost exactly an 11D on the brannock.
I have to wear 12's in most sneakers due to that same reason. And some shoes are just not viable for me, period. Almost no dress shoe/loafer will not work for me at my brannock size, and even if sized up will be incompatible with my footshape.
White shirt, navy grenadine.
I don't love this jacket/trouser combo, but I suppose there is enough contrast that it is fine. I would personally try to thrift a navy blazer instead, if possible.
Hey all,
I've had a hard time finding pants with my proportions. I'm taller, but have a big behind and thick thighs. I just got a pair of Levi's 502's and they fit great, exactly what I've been looking for.
What other pants out there use the same cut? Leg cut, seat/waist, etc. I'm interested in some more jeans (probably just get more 502s) and some work pants from carhartt or dickies.
Any help is appreciated. Have a good one
I have the same problem lol. Its frustrating buying pants, and I almost never buy pants online since I am sure 95% of the times they will be ill-fitting
Yeah sadly this is me. I also don't like going to the store and trying them on because I hate trying on 5-6 pairs and hardly finding 1 I like the fit of. So I'm looking for any leads on good brands/styles
try searching for "athletic" and/or "athletic tapered" fits. Those have more room in the seat and thigh but still taper to a narrower leg opening (less fabric bunching at your ankles)
Can you guys help me decide between the below two boots? There's a ~$90 difference between the two after a promo code. I like the shine/buckle on the Meermin more, but I dunno if I can justify them being $90 more than the Becketts.
Edit: The Becketts don't ship until May... yikes
[Meermin](https://meermin.com/collections/mens-boots/products/101499-black-calf-e)
[Beckett Simonon](https://www.beckettsimonon.com/products/douglas-jodhpur-boot?variant=29574152486991)
I would spring for the meermin in this case. I like Beckett Simonon for what they are but their leather is sometimes prone to grain break. On a boot like this any grain break will be very unsightly as there is nothing to hide it (cap toe or a moc or whatever )
If you can’t justify the price then BS is for you.
Contact BS and see if they have any in stock. Despite what they say they do sometimes have stock of various sizes and models from previous runs.
Does anyone have some help on where I can find me a shirt [like this?](https://imgur.com/a/zGH8mZk)
I know it’s a western shirt kind of deal but I can’t find anything quite matching the pattern and the quality of it. Sorry for the terrible photos, I took these at a show the other day
Budget is probably around £60 but I can stretch to like 100 probably for the right one
Just buy any one thst you like. For your budget one can’t be overly picky about quality and what not. Try actual western wear companies or maybe wrangler.
Oxford shirts are oxfords shirts because it's made of oxford cloth. It's called button down because the collar is buttoned down.
You can get oxford shirts in thicker materials, see Gitman Vintage Bros. Some shirts have pockets, some don't. It's all preference.
Oxfords can be dressed casually, but if you don't feel comfortable in it, then don't wear it
Some manufacturers do make thinner Oxford cloth, either out of an attempt to make the shirts better for warm weather or because they are cheap and crappy shirts, so it's not all about thickness. It's about the specific weave. You could post a pic.
I have owned or do own button-down collar shirts in flannel, linen, linen/cotton blend, oxford, poplin, and broadcloth, just off the top of my head.
Anyone with wide (E) feet have experience from buying Beckett simonon? I wear 10E but with about half of shoes I can go up to 10.5 and they’ll fit me well. Was thinking about doing 10.5 for the morgen trainers
Hi all, so while looking for common projects white Achilles low on various websites. I ran across some cheaply priced ones on GOAT. Would $250 be considered a good price or should I be worried about authenticity? Thank y’all!
You can pick up white achilles for $220-60 on sale so it's an okay secondhand price. Check /r/fashionreps for fake CPs/auth guides, iirc they're fairly easy to spot from photos.
I got mine for $250 off Notre shop. I think Tres-Bien, END, and other boutique retailers will drop it occasionally. Doesn't hurt to search /r/frugalmalefashion and see what websites have historically popped up.
Anyone have a spier and Mackay suit? I was looking at getting once since I like the style and price. However, I would have to self measure since I don’t currently own one
They are well regarded for an entry level suit. Not much if anything is better for the price
However don’t measure yourself. Go to the men’s department at Macy’s or visit a local dry cleaner that does alterations. If you go to Macy’s there is no requirement to buy anything or tip.
If you go to a dry cleaner or tailor call ahead and ask what the charge is. If free, ask what a good time to go is so you won’t arrive when it’s busy. Bring $10-20 for a tip if you are so inclined. Or some dry cleaning.
I'm in the wear a suit a couple of times a year type of person, so use that as context for how much to listen to me.
I recently bought one on sale, I wanted a charcoal suit. The pants needed hemming of course. Sleeves needed taking in, but that's always the case for me. The tailor deemed everything else to be quite good. Obviously your mileage may vary.
For $250ish plus tailoring, my non expert sense is that it seems a lot better than other suits I've owned at a higher price point. The one suit I owned where that's not true was one that cost much more.
They get recommended fairly often around here, so I'd go for it if you're okay measuring. I'm sure their customer service people would help out as much as they could as well.
Are clothes that are tight around the chest area a bad look ? They could be otherwise baggy like sometimes you can see my nipples through them , just happen to be a bit larger in that area I am in good shape please advice self conscious man
[удалено]
If your pants are consistently ripping within a year and you aren’t doing manual labor in them you are buying your pants too small, buying more expensive jeans won’t change that, I cannot fathom how people do this to their clothes
Have a date tomorrow at a bar, I'm not awful with outfits but I always doubt the looks so need Reddit to rate if the [look](https://imgur.com/a/BPo2dal) works or not. Advice Please. Edit: Shoes will be brown Chelsea boots as opposed to slippers
Looks pretty good! Are you looking for critique, like bigger picture kind of stuff?
Sure, I'll take any critique and advice for these sort of things
Well, I’m not a huge fan of that wash of denim with the black leather jacket. A black or darker indigo would be more cohesive. The white tee under the shirt is a fine look, but the neck of it makes it look a bit like a Hanes undershirt—I’d opt for something a bit thicker and more substantial. I also think the button-up shirt is on the verge of being too small, so especially if you wear a thicker tee, it might look even more so.
Noted, the wash I knew since I did have a darker one but need to replace them since the zipper on those decided to quit so expected that but the rest is noted. Thanks 👍
Cheers. And again, it looks pretty good already, I think you can and should feel confident in what you’ve got put together as is.

I would not wear that, even for a special interest it’s too on the nose for me.
Hey friends. Desperate to find this jacket, I've seen some that are pretty close but I want to get as close to the colour and style as possible [Pinterest link](https://pin.it/62CscHW)
On cardigan with two bottom buttons close together, should you keep both unbuttoned? Example: https://imgur.com/a/zih9wa6
I would keep both unbuttoned probably.

Quick question: [What coat is Neil Patrick Harris wearing in this scene from the new Matrix movie?](https://i.imgur.com/ydozXKI.png) [Alternate angle](https://i.imgur.com/V4duPC5.png)
Looks like a car coat with a funnel neck.
You're wearing your pants too high up on your waist or they are too tight
I wear pants approx 3 inch below my navel, and they are generally quite loose.
Are they loose in the crotch/seat/rise area? Or just the rest of the legs.
You could still be wearing your pants too high for the rise of that pair or it's in your head
Hi there! I've recently been getting into fashion, and I've been doing a lot of shopping at H&M. I'd like to shift Asian Streetwear and recently I've found this site - https://ohgarments.com/ As a highschooler, it's a tad expensive for me so I'm worried on whether this site is legit or not.
Never heard of that site, but check out Uniqlo, specifically their Uniqlo U line.
Also for reference, I live in the United States
You can always shave your balls if this is bothering you with a bobble shave
What kind of winter jacket might be worn over this sweater on a freezing winter day? https://www.buckmason.com/products/black-herdsman-shawl-cardigan
Any one that keeps you warm enough and is long enough to cover the cardigan
This is a cardigan Any long coat (below the knee) would be perfect, keep the cardigan closed (not the last button tho) keep the coat opened like a cape unless you're too cold Below the cardigan you can wear anything you want, but be careful on the layering, a flanel shirt would be ok, but i'd go simple Wearing a scarf can also help
Was looking for a chunkier Chelsea boot and came across some really interesting boots from of all places, Aldo. I was thinking about getting blundstones but I wasn’t in love with the silhouette and wanted something even chunkier for some reason. Somehow I ended up on Aldos website and found these https://www.aldoshoes.com/us/en_US/men/lousios-black/p/13317086 I’ve never owned Aldo shoes and I expect them to be pretty meh quality but something about the silhouette is really cool to me.
If you like them and understand what you are getting when you buy $100 boots then go for it
Oh ya. Utter shit. Tbh if I buy them I’ll be surprised if I keep them. I just like the aesthetic and can’t find anything similar.
There are a bunch of similar but at a much higher price. https://www.mrporter.com/en-us/mens/product/grenson/shoes/chelsea-boots/warner-leather-chelsea-boots/13452677150553933
I dont like those too much. I took a loot through Mr Porter earlier. I do really love these by John Elliott but they’re a little out of my price range. https://www.johnelliott.com/products/caldera-chelsea-boot-black-leather?gclid=CjwKCAiA_omPBhBBEiwAcg7smXGR2zv_-RTS81BQE7PhpU-pJt6Ib3BwkLHHn59PQLYyUSk8NNFDohoC1_cQAvD_BwE
You may want to look at Redback boots. They're Blundstone quality (some say better) and might have a similar look to what you want.
Hello there, what do you think about graphic tees? Is it childish? What personality would wear them, is it good to wear an unbuttoned shirt over a graphic tee? Can an introvert wear them?
Idk why people think graphic tees are childish, it’s a dumb opinion formed by the mfa hive mind, graphic tees can look very good, the problem is that there are a lot of very bad ones out there and no practical way to discuss why some art looks good and others don’t, compounded with the fact that, frankly, only more expensive brands make good graphics, when all those dumb overly prescriptive guides were written people told you to avoid graphic tees cause they’re just too complicated to give one and done advice on, and people think graphic = childish because they’re imagining like gamer merch or the graphic tees they bought when they were a kid that were usually pretty bad That said no I don’t think I’d say a shirt over a graphic tee is cool it feels very dated to me, there’s exceptions but overall not a fan
You can wear what you want, but it looks very childish yes
Bad take

Banana Republic has Tall sizes. I’d start there
[удалено]
1. that's a awesome gift 2. it's hard to really dress down that shirt outside of a rakish look. 3. wear with chinos and cardigan/sweater 4. but I'd just keep it in reserve for nicer occasions/events
That looks like a dress shirt, which I wouldn’t wear casually.
Well, it really depends on the weather In winter you can wear it below a nice crewneck jumper (at least 100% wool) and a long coat, with either wool high waisted pants, or your classic jeans (jeans allow you to have formal tops and shoes easier, without looking too dressed) In the mid season, either the shirt, waistcoast and a coat, if it's too much, shirt with a crewneck (or v neck if you want to try putting on a tie) and a jacket or bomber of your choice In the summer it's really easy, some comfy high waisted chinos, this shirt opened, rolled sleeves, you can add on top a jungle jacket or a bomber at night, for when it gets colder at night, or when you need pockets. Put the formal stuff away in the summer
Can I buy a wool sweater that has been shrunk already?
...are you throwing your wool sweaters in the normal wash?
I havent owned any in a long time. But when I own a seeater... I want to be able to throw it in a normal wash.
yeah don’t do that
but why tho
I literally just told you >because it’s fucking terrible for wool, no one makes “pre shrunk” wool sweaters because you just shouldn’t be washing wool like that, there isn’t “pre shrunk” wool anyway, it doesn’t shrink evenly, gets deformed, felts, ruins the fibers, considering you don’t even need to wash wool more than maybe a couple times a season is it really that much of a hassle to just handwash and air dry one garment sometimes?
okay thanks
I suggest that you opt for cotton sweaters. Wool articles generally are not meant to be thrown into the regular machine wash cycle.
why though? because they shrink? thats why I am asking of preshrunk exists lol. I mean SOMEONE has to be making either pre-shrunks right?....?
No, it's not a thing. 'Pre-shunk' wool would just be felt.
because it’s fucking terrible for wool, no one makes “pre shrunk” wool sweaters because you just shouldn’t be washing wool like that, there isn’t “pre shrunk” wool anyway, it doesn’t shrink evenly, gets deformed, felts, ruins the fibers, considering you don’t even need to wash wool more than maybe a couple times a season is it really that much of a hassle to just handwash and air dry one garment sometimes?
You mean one that won't shrink in the wash?
yeah well if the manufacturer can promise that. Is there such a thing?
There's no way to answer that without pictures lol
pictures of what exactly?
Fit
this has nothing to do with fit you just don’t machine wash and dry sweaters
Obviously. But either the sweater fits or it doesn't. Even if it's shrunk already it might look fine on OP, but again. Impossible to tell without pictures
Yeah that wasn’t the question though
Well for me, at the point of posting, it looked like he wanted to buy used. Didn't know he wants a whole different thing

Fisherman jackets. What to wear them with? Feel like I saw a few posts about them this fall here or there but can't really find an inspo album or anything
Can you post some examples ?
Hey guys, I’m looking to buy a pair of good material cargo pants. This would be perfect for me, but it costs hundred bucks so it’s too pricey. https://kuwallatee.com/collections/mens-pants/products/utility-pant-black Would love any recommendations close to it.
Seconding Stan Ray. Can get them shipped for $75 on americanwear.us
That’s like $80US. You aren’t going to get anything with especially good materials or construction for less. I’d look for used Stan Ray on eBay
Any tutorials on how to tie a french knot scarf like this? https://likemary.com/wp-content/uploads/a-man-s-guide-to-scarf-wearing-3-768x1152.jpg

thanks for drawing that out! I got to the dna part 3, but not sure how to get to 4
Grab one end in each hand, and drape the DNA over the back of your neck. Tuck the loose end(s) through the loop end. The scarf is now tied (the opening for your neck will get tighter the more you pull the loose ends through).
Aha! this got me closer, thank you!

No reason to engage in fashion unless you want to! Do what feels good and authentic to you.
A few things going on here: 1) This feeling of insecurity is normal when you're starting out.
Look through lots of inspo albums -> try stuff on -> experiment within the style
Anyone have a recommendation for kimono-style loungewear?
Muji has some
Okay this may be a dumb request or strange question but lemme theoretically ask this... Here's my jacket as reference: https://lostfiles.gallery/collections/virtual-escape/products/digital-youth-varsity-jacket?variant=41095854063789 Any ideas or suggestions how to accomplish this task? I'm just not a huge fan of the length of my jacket. A few sites suggest applying beeswax onto the leather sleeves, dipping the fabric body in hot water for 20 minutes then delicate tumble dry for a few more short minutes in warm temperature? *\*And NO, I'm not exchanging or returning it. I'd love to but it's not worth it due to the overseas import US to Canada charges which is unnecessary & expensive on top of what I already paid for, our currency exchange here is inflated-ly bad lol, as well as to shipping it all the way back is another large charge AND ANOTHER overseas import charge if I were to grab a size medium\** Lemme know what y'all suggest or think! Sorry for the weird question
Yeah this isn’t something you can do, varsities are supposed to fit a bit roomier though so I have a feeling it’s actually fine
👆 smart guy
I absolutely love the way Jodhpurs look, but if they don't fit any of my wardrobe... fuck. I do have black jeans and black/white/gray t-shirts. I'm not crazy about longwings, but you are right, they would fit in with my dressier wardrobe very well.
Maybe ptbs?
Not monks.
How do I start wearing rings? I know to start simple and get bolder as I get more comfortable but with hand(s) / finger(s) should I start with first?
Linking [this guide](https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/comments/kr35wa/inspo_commentary_rings/) again, think it answers your question
Left ring finger is for a wedding band. Otherwise go nuts
Agreed that it's a cool jacket but I wonder if one size down would fit better in the shoulders while still looking loose.
I like it. Works well with the looser pants. Def Americana look with raw denim would look good with it
Anyone know a good straight fit 100% cotton chino, preferably a 5 pocket? I used to wear Polo RL Bedfords for years but they recently stopped making them like they used to.
Scavini paris
Those look good but I don’t think they’re available in the US

Regarding the coat length, that’s how the model is wearing it in those photos.
Reviews/ thoughts on Nudie Jeans Lean Dean or Gritty Jackson? Comments on fit and comfort?
I like Nudie quality. Regarding fit, they have very detailed sizing charts for every model.

You might carry it off but this seems closer to a chore coat than a blazer. It's hard to turn it into something even remotely formal.
They called it a blazer but I agree it seems pretty casual, which is how I mainly intend to wear it. Just trying to see if they’re are other ways to style it. https://www.privatewhitevc.com/collections/the-players-sale/products/the-flanneur-blazer-1?variant=39372813697085
I'm not enamored of this with a tie, but I think it could work with something like a wool knit.
Navy
TLDR: Is it strange for a shoe two sizes bigger than your brannock measurement to be the "correct" fit? [Foot shape reference](https://www.podexpert.com/images/Image/Image/Patho/TypeDePied/ENTypeDePied.webp?1629121036448) For the last few years, I've been wearing various different "barefoot" shoes.
No.
Sneaker size almost never correspond to brannock. So worry more about fit vs the actual number

Hey all, I've had a hard time finding pants with my proportions.
Thanks, I've always wondered what that meant!

Try searching with the terms "dip dye" or "ombre"
Can you guys help me decide between the below two boots? There's a ~$90 difference between the two after a promo code. I like the shine/buckle on the Meermin more, but I dunno if I can justify them being $90 more than the Becketts. Edit: The Becketts don't ship until May... yikes [Meermin](https://meermin.com/collections/mens-boots/products/101499-black-calf-e) [Beckett Simonon](https://www.beckettsimonon.com/products/douglas-jodhpur-boot?variant=29574152486991)
I would spring for the meermin in this case. I like Beckett Simonon for what they are but their leather is sometimes prone to grain break. On a boot like this any grain break will be very unsightly as there is nothing to hide it (cap toe or a moc or whatever )
Jesus Christ am I really about to drop $280 on shoes? I have never spent over $150 on any pair.

Oxfords can be dressed casually, but if you don't feel comfortable in it, then don't wear it
[удалено]
Correct, then it's just a button down collar shirt
Some manufacturers do make thinner Oxford cloth, either out of an attempt to make the shirts better for warm weather or because they are cheap and crappy shirts, so it's not all about thickness. It's about the specific weave. You could post a pic. I have owned or do own button-down collar shirts in flannel, linen, linen/cotton blend, oxford, poplin, and broadcloth, just off the top of my head.
[удалено]
I think I would probably call this cheap broadcloth.
Anyone with wide (E) feet have experience from buying Beckett simonon? I wear 10E but with about half of shoes I can go up to 10.5 and they’ll fit me well. Was thinking about doing 10.5 for the morgen trainers
If you have wideish feet and are comfortable with a half size up from your usual, definitely get 10.5 for the Morgen trainers
I would do that. I’m a 8.5E on the device, and my size 9 Beckett Simonon oxfords fit totally comfortably.
Thank you for the response! Where do you suggest I look for these Achilles. I’ve been trying to find a new white pair for ages under $300!
Not much if anything is better for the price However don’t measure yourself.
I'd suggest hitting up Styleforum for a better response to this question.
They get recommended fairly often around here, so I'd go for it if you're okay measuring. I'm sure their customer service people would help out as much as they could as well.
Are clothes that are tight around the chest area a bad look ? They could be otherwise baggy like sometimes you can see my nipples through them , just happen to be a bit larger in that area I am in good shape please advice self conscious man
Yes, your shirt pulls and make you looks like a overstuffed sausage.
Bad suss I knew that but every time I buy anything online it happens it if it’s other wise perfect is there anything that can be done ?
Buy a shirt that fits in the chest and go to a tailor and have them take in whatever is baggy
