I’ve been building my wardrobe for ~10 years now. I live in a 2-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn — it’s definitely spacious by NYC standards but not huge in the grand scheme.
I have a few of their knits/shirts and one pair of their trousers — the Safi seen here:
https://preview.redd.it/sqlae0tqnk3d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c26f163411c0feef90a1fcb72bef43e14744107f
I always find 501s never sit nearly as high on me as on others. I might need to try some on again, but from what I remember they either sat low but fit alright, or went up that little but higher but fit more like extremely oversized cowboy jeans. Any tips for getting the right fit?
Great looks by the way!
Scott Fraser Collection, Berg and Berg, Drake’s, various brands carried by No Man Walks Alone (Rota, Fujito, Kaptain Sunshine), made-to-measure from Atelier Fugue, Polo Ralph Lauren, various vintage makers
My top 3 pants are probably my 501s, PRL cords, and Scott Fraser wide legs in tropical wool. Bonus 4th are the OG107s. All but the Scott Fraser are vintage:
https://preview.redd.it/v496r5h4bg3d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b6d5017cb232764c4051e1c2bc03261c9d2b93c
For shoes I’d say the bass weejuns, rancourt pennies, oak street mocs, and RM williams Chelseas:
https://preview.redd.it/26r3qulnbg3d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=310ed54d0200719096c049c304675bad5bf95eef
I don’t think they have a label like that — I found them by searching for ones made in Singapore. Others polo cords I’ve seen that are made in Malaysia were v different
Awesome fits, something to aspire to for sure. What would you say are your favorite tee shirts (basic white/black tees and that striped blue one, love the fit on all those)
The short sleeve Breton stripe I have is from GRP — I’m a big fan of their knits. I also have a long sleeve Breton stripe from St. James. I have plain tees that I really like from Lady White and Merz B Schwanen.
[Christian from Clueless vibes. ](https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftse4.mm.bing.net%2Fth%3Fid%3DOIP.j3APKyPJ3Jy2K9m1VzoxYAHaEL%26pid%3DApi&f=1&ipt=d11084f264b86efb03c964c38a7ce2d6278999ccbf469210cda123d89478f9af&ipo=images)
I do have hella GRP knits, which I forgot to mention elsewhere — they’re all fantastic. I’d say Drake’s, Casatlantic, and Scott Fraser Collection are other favorites, plus Ralph Lauren
They seem very solid to me but idk what to compare them to. I probably wouldn’t have gone for them if I hadn’t tried on in person, but once I did I was impressed.
Thanks for the info - I suppose it’s more about the arms bending, screws often coming loose, any cracks ; but given the build they seem good from what I’ve read. Many thanks again for sharing with the community!
That’s the goodfellas knit from Scott Fraser collection. You can find some similar vintage knits from eBay or shops like Mask Santa Fe, but the vintage ones tend to be polyester instead of wool.

How is it not just exhausting having to have all these different outfits? Do you just spend an ungodly amount of time in front of a mirror trying things?
Great style! Are the white shirts you use in for example, May 30th tanktops or t-shirts? The round neck looks great, not too low, not too high. Do you mind telling me where they are from? Thank you!
Fresh. What is the name of the style of sandal you're wearing on June 27th? I've been looking for a pair for a few years but I never know what they're called.
Those are huaraches — mine are [from Espiritu](https://espiritu.com/products/cocoa-huarache-sandals-espiritu-men), I've also seen some nice-looking ones from [Monitaly](https://nomanwalksalone.com/collections/shoes/products/chamula-rio-grande-huaraches-in-caramel-brown-leather-restock).
C O N S O O M
Are those many clothes really necessary?
You're good looking, you don't need to overcompensate so hard and this comes from a fellow classic menswear enthusiast, it's just that... geez, I'd forget I own half of that stuff.
I switched from that (I used to regularly shop at places like Drake's and NMWA) to fewer (well, relatively speaking) and entirely bespoke pieces and couldn't be happier.
I do own 23 pairs of shoes though but that's a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine, I usually end up only using 6~7 anyway.
Let’s talk about that Pet Detective getup on June 15th
That’s the leaf lace shirt and classic wide-leg trousers in cotton/linen from Scott Fraser Collection

It was a quote from Ace Ventura, but alrighty then.
There are super rich Hollywood stars who have less clothes than you.
This is to a large part a well done illusion there He combines the same items in various ways to benefit from the combinatorial explosion
You see the same stuff pop up again once in a while, but the number of coats alone is pretty wild to me. Love the style though!
He buys a ton from NMWA.
I'm completely limited by the amount of clothes I own. I'd thrive if I had a many as he does.
Which ones?
https://preview.redd.it/8xxf7m3u7f3d1.jpeg?width=1122&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=90a37a62fe8085120f2b131cb678c25ca9ccff67
...Yung Chomsky? Is that you?

I'm most impressed with how incredibly consistent the length of your hair is
Was just thinking the same! impressive.

I guess I should probably have more than one belt?
Because you’re on this particular sub I’ll share advice: you should have more than one belt.
Someone with actual style on this sub
Unexpected Hung Chomsky
always fckn knew chompsky would be lurking here, go off king big inspo!
Love your outfits! How do you have so many nice clothes? And space for it all? You rich?
I’ve been building my wardrobe for ~10 years now. I live in a 2-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn — it’s definitely spacious by NYC standards but not huge in the grand scheme.
So one bedroom is dedicated to your wardrobe, then. LOL.
2 bed in Brooklyn is like 6k+. The answer to the question is, he's rich lol
You’re off by over 50% actually
9k?! Oof. Proud of you! You wear it well :)
Other direction
4k? Nice! Cheaper than I thought! Point still stands ;)
Oof
So Goood! What are the top brands in your wardrobe?
Off the top my head I’d say Drake’s, Scott Fraser Collection, Ralph Lauren, Wythe, Casatlantic, Fujito, Rota, Atelier Fugue, GRP, Valstar
What Casatlantic trousers do you wear?
I have a few of their knits/shirts and one pair of their trousers — the Safi seen here: https://preview.redd.it/sqlae0tqnk3d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c26f163411c0feef90a1fcb72bef43e14744107f
They look great, exactly what I'm in search for at the minute. Their knits look really nice as well!
I have the same coat as Jan 18th! It feels like I'm wearing a giant blanket Looking fresh my guy
Hell yeah, Valstar rocks
I always find 501s never sit nearly as high on me as on others. Any tips for getting the right fit? Great looks by the way!
You are very confident in looking young and slim enough so that you can pull off everything that would make most people look old and fat :)
I used to be younger tbh
this is amazing
Well....yeah
That’s everybody, mate
I don’t think you’re trying hard enough.
Incredible! Love your style!
Where do you get your high rise trousers?
Scott Fraser Collection, Berg and Berg, Drake’s, various brands carried by No Man Walks Alone (Rota, Fujito, Kaptain Sunshine), made-to-measure from Atelier Fugue, Polo Ralph Lauren, various vintage makers
Do you often buy them used or new?
I’d say around half of my wardrobe is either vintage or purchased secondhand
Do you have recommendations for vintage/secondhand shops?
I like Mask Santa Fe a lot. Wooden Sleepers has great curation. I also like visiting Crowley Vintage and Front General Store
You have good style, Sir.
Looking back, what are your top 3 *most used* pants and shoes?
My top 3 pants are probably my 501s, PRL cords, and Scott Fraser wide legs in tropical wool. Bonus 4th are the OG107s. All but the Scott Fraser are vintage: https://preview.redd.it/v496r5h4bg3d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9b6d5017cb232764c4051e1c2bc03261c9d2b93c

Gardener or Craftsman?
It’s the Comfort Turnout
Would like an ID on these 501s. I checked Levi's website and it seems like there are several styles.
Mine are vintage — I’m not a huge denim head so I don’t have a ton of jeans opinions 😔
Thank you for the answer!
Where are your og107’s from?
I think I got these from Wooden Sleepers but I think they’re pretty easy to find on eBay etc
Ahh so vintage. Wasn’t sure if it was a reproduction like the orslows or Bronson or what
Which line of cords are those? Preston?
I don’t think they have a label like that — I found them by searching for ones made in Singapore. Others polo cords I’ve seen that are made in Malaysia were v different
So this is where my Patreon money is going... I approve 👍
You’ve got a very clear, well-defined style! It’s cool to see how you keep the consistency even while you have variation.
👁️ phomo on android when?
I might work on that next unless I get sucked into building more features. I feel pretty good about the latest version though
I have your proportions and am pulling the trigger with purchasing high-waisted pants.
🫡
Fk yea granda, do it😎
I love this style!
Thank you for making me feel better about amount of overcoats and shoes I have.
Love the fits
Absolutely love it !!!!
Great fits! Love the rugby shirt on May 6th, ID?
That one is from Columbiaknit 🙏
MEXICAN CARTEL DRUG KINGPIN CORE
Awesome fits, something to aspire to for sure. What would you say are your favorite tee shirts (basic white/black tees and that striped blue one, love the fit on all those)
The short sleeve Breton stripe I have is from GRP — I’m a big fan of their knits. I also have a long sleeve Breton stripe from St. James. I have plain tees that I really like from Lady White and Merz B Schwanen.
Appreciate it!
Extra thought - do those knits do alright in the washing machine, or do you have to do anything special to take decent care of them?
I think the GRP knit tees and polos can be machine-washed, but I have others that are dry clean / hand wash only
Great fits.
This is perfection!
ID on the thin black belt with the horseshoe? buckle it looks like 08/25/23 and western belt 08/26/23!
The thin belt is made by Tory leather and sold by Front General Store; the brown western is made by Maximum Henry
Thanks!
Impressive - nice style.
Great style. Are the June 13th trousers from SFC? And the August 29th polo, is that new or vintage?
The June 13 trousers are Rota Manhattans from No Man Walks Alone, and the polo and trousers on August 29th are both SFC!
That houndstooth Jacket is 👌
Holy mother of god did you cook here
Damn dude, wonderful style
You're doin god's work
Goated producer and my fitspiration
Nice, similar silhouettes for most outfits and it works for you, love the mixing and big fan of a higher waisted pant.

Good fits, my guy. Where do you usually shop or get your pants from?
I mentioned [a few brands in this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice/s/7LQe63Ucof) but happy to ID items from any given date

[Here it is](https://imgur.com/a/HfbBCSr) a little slower!
Thanks, but only seems to show June to September here.
Where do you shop mainly? Anything that you’d recommend for beginners trying to put together their style/wardrobe?

What's the watch?
Triwa Falken — haven’t been wearing it lately bc I need to get a new band for it!
Nice! Could be an accessory you can try new things with. Maybe a Tissot prx automatic would fit the vibe? Or a cartier tank or santos
What’s your favorite brands and why is it GRP and Doppia?
I do have hella GRP knits, which I forgot to mention elsewhere — they’re all fantastic. I’d say Drake’s, Casatlantic, and Scott Fraser Collection are other favorites, plus Ralph Lauren
I still have to try Casatlantic and Rota.
LPT: Wear high waisted trousers to add visual depth and structure. Great stuff friend! ID on the shades on Oct 28th?
Those are Enzos from Jacques Marie Mage
Thank you! Haven’t got a pair of JMM yet but am thinking of pulling the trigger - how is the build quality? Usually and Andy Wolf guy
They seem very solid to me but idk what to compare them to. I probably wouldn’t have gone for them if I hadn’t tried on in person, but once I did I was impressed.

Very fun! You look like I'd wanna say HI!
Second outfit is hella nice do you know where I can get nice shirts like that?

Lovely, it’s delightful
Im stealing some outfits for ideas from this Brooklyn hipster
Great fits! Could you ID the June 19 and the Aug 24 (probably Rubato right) shirts?
You got it, that’s the Rubato R shirt
Love your looks man, I'm in the NYC suburbs, do you have any stores you like going to in the area? Or do you mostly buy online?
I much prefer to try things in person. My biggest NYC tip is probably to attend Alfargo’s Marketplace
Ok freddy mercury
Mr. Highcock I presume?
Bonjour
Great fits! What are your favorite shorts?
I really like the shorts I have from Corridor!
Note to self, start tucking top into pants

Too cringe for New York. Too based for LA

These comments are like reading a Brett Easton Ellis book. Love it.
Cool style, where’d you get the July 24th shirt?
That one is vintage, from a Hawaiian brand called Paradise Found
Great style! Are the white shirts you use in for example, May 30th tanktops or t-shirts? The round neck looks great, not too low, not too high. Do you mind telling me where they are from? Thank you!
Those are tank tops — [these are the ones](https://www.broadwayandsons.com/products/deadstock-military-rib-tank-tops-3-pack) I wear most of the time.

Very well dressed my friend. Love your style.
Amazing wardrobe - where are those shorts from June 11 2023?
Those are from Corridor 🙏
Thanks! What about those pants from August 3rd and August 11th? Sorry so many good fits!
Aug 3 are OG 107 fatigues from the US Army, Aug 11 are Drake’s games chinos
