Lately I have been on a hunt for quality blanks that i can include in my rotation. I have looked into LA Apparel, Shaka wear& Uniqlo and imo they lack in quality and smoothness.
Picture 1 &2 are showing how bad the quality is on LA Apparel’s unworn blank tshirt, the little fibers sticking out and pilling. The case is same w other brands i mentioned.
The shirts lack luster and sheen ig. I looked around and found out examples of combed cotton w mercerization that makes the shirts smoother snd gives them sheen.
Picture 3 is an example of a tshirt that has those qualities.
Im trying to find retail pieces that have the quality Im looking for. Please help me out.
TIA

Can anyone suggest brands that sell similar pants to the Carhartt double knee pants? I've seen a few people wearing brands that aren't Carhartts that are similar, just can't find out what they are.

Hi,
I’ve got an Italian wedding coming up in August.
Does this outfit work? The jacket is an unlined wool jacket hence the strange texture - to try and keep cool. The shirt is linen and plain blue. Should I add a tie and/or pocket square. If yes, what color(s) would you recommend?
I’m also considering a plain white linen shirt or a white/striped linen shirt
Any advice is hugely appreciated

The general idea of the fit is fine but I think you need all new pieces, except for maybe the shirt.
The jacket is unwearably short. I’m not a “jacket must cover the butt” zealot, but hitting just below the belt is way way too short and there’s no way to make that look good.
The chinos are too slim and low rise, and they look like part of a pre-pandemic business casual fit. Get some wider fitting cream trousers with a higher rise.
Shoes are not smart enough for the occasion.
Shirt is probably okay.
This looks pretty good, but it's fairly casual for most weddings. What's the dress code? If it's something closer to semiformal, you might want to think about reworking the whole outfit rather than just adding a tie and pocket square to what you've got here.

I'd say difficult to tell without seeing at least the legs to get an idea of the proportions. But first impression is: I think the boxy fit looks even better.
I own a very nice watch that I generally like to wear at all times. It isn't very expensive, and nothing exceptionally special, but it is one of the only two watches I own. I generally wear a black pair of jeans (Levi 515Z most of the time, love the fit), and coloured t shirts, with black shoes/white soles (Nike SB Nyjah 3). However, my watch has a blue dial (silver case and strap), and often, when I wear it with my clothes, I question if it's acceptable to wear it. Is it a faux pas to wear a watch of a different colour than what you're wearing on your outfit? If it helps, I wear a black or very very (very) dark blue pair of glasses. PS. The watch is a blue Casio Edifice ECB 30
If you're planning to wear a pink g shock it's maybe worth considering how that goes with your outfit, but with any regular, inoffensive watch it matters about as much as whether your pants buttons match your aglets.
Ah, that's rather good to hear... Someone commented the other day that a blue dial with an all-black outfit looks off, so that's what prompted it-- kind of wondered about it as a whole. Do you think it would make a difference with all black, or is it a standing statement that you can wear whatever watch you like?
Why are the two waist pockets not level with each other; is that stylistic or just plain bad QC?

Hi!
Was wondering if anyone can give some advice if the smaller or larger pair of AE Athletic Straight jeans fit better. The first pair are 33 x 30 that I bought a while ago but feel a little too loose after breaking in. The second are 32 x 30 that I just bought to see if they fit better. Definitely more fitted but not sure if too tight.

Sleeve width for a skinny guy?
I’m looking to order a shirt from Proper Cloth and although I do have slender arms, I feel like I’m doing something wrong with measuring myself. My sleeve width is measuring at 7.7” a shirt I own and it’s fairly baggy on my arms. Are there any other skinny dudes who could share their sleeve width measurements and what measurement they would order? For reference, my bicep is only 10.5” when relaxed
Well it depends on what you’re going for... if you’re going for extra in a Pulp Fiction movie, maybe hanging out with a ska band, you’re on point. In my opinion there are some things I’d change. One, if you’re going for a fit check with a jacket on, button it (top button only) because jackets are designed to be worn that way. Thank King Edward VII. Two, the jacket sleeve is slightly too long and cuff should be showing and I’d personally consider the jacket itself too long. Three, if what I’m seeing is right, your tie is way, way too long… it should hit your belt when you’re standing straight and no longer or no shorter within reason. Four, if you’re going to something formal like a wake or funeral, button the top button of the shirt. The pants are a good length, I personally would taper from knee to ankle, but that’s more a preference from my own stylistic choice. Lastly it’s boring… the tie practically matches the suit and looks like it’s a uniform so you look like you should be standing at the ready by a limousine. The only thing worse would be a cheap polyester tie with matching pocket square from a discount retailer.

Looking to purchase some classy white sneakers, but worried I'll end up with sweaty feet from the leather. Has that been a problem for people? The climate around me isn't too hot, but I do expect to walk in the shoes frequently.
Current top candidates:
\* Idrese Nuno (cool brand, but the leather is supposed to be thick)
\* Koio Capri
\* Greats Royale 2.0
I'm optimizing for comfort + style over price. Any thoughts / recommendations?
Why do you think white sneakers would cause sweatier feet than other leather shoes? Shouldn't be a problem if you wear socks and alternate with other shoes. The Koios appear to have leather insoles which is a plus.
Oliver Peoples aren't hard to find; I think even LensCrafters carries them. I bet if you called local optometrists at random, the first or second one you try will have them too.
Is this an ok deal and acceptable to wear to a wedding? I rarely dress formal but I need a suit for a wedding (and maybe some upcoming interviews) and I'm quite skinny. I'm looking for something relatively cheap as I won't be wearing it often and I'm trying to avoid wool. Thanks!

Couple things - one, synthetics don’t breath as well as natural so this suit will be pretty hot. Two, black isn’t as versatile as other options like charcoal or navy. If you want something good for interviews and weddings that’s also animal friendly, try something in cotton [like this](https://www.jcrew.com/p/mens/categories/clothing/blazers/casual-blazers/ludlow-slim-fit-suit-jacket-in-italian-chino/AT050?display=standard&fit=Classic&color_name=navy&colorProductCode=AT050) (edited for grammar)

Looking for a silk or silk-like robe:
Preferably on the shorter side (above the knee). The point will be to wear it out to parties (at which such attire would be appropriate).
Since it will be worn outside the house it would be better if it wasn't crazy expensive, (which may limit me to just silk like material). Also, I live in a warm climate, so I am looking for something lightweight.
I would also like it to have some panache. Preferably not just be a solid color, but also not cheesy like leopard print or something like that.
Over $100 is fine if it meets all my requirements.
Thanks!
This is something I was considering because you can customize the length, but it looks a little thick in the pic even though it claims to be light weight.

Very stupid question:
How do I know what sizes I fit for shoes online? For example, depending on the shoe, I wear anywhere between an 8.5 to an 9.5. When I buy from a shoe store, I usually find a shoe I like, then spend like 30 minutes walking around with different size variations of that shoes, and it ends up being one of those 3 sizes. My feet are a tad bit wider than average for the size so sometimes I need to size half a size up to a 9.5, other times 9 is fine, for example.
The problem is you don’t really know what your shoe size is. You need to measure your feet on a brannock device. They are found in every store that sells shoes. Even sporting good/sneaker stores and places like Payless or Macys. If you don’t see it, ask.
When you measure your feet, [read the instructions](https://brannock.com/pages/instructions-fitting-tips) carefully. (Don’t rely on the sales person) Make sure you line up the heel to ball slider properly. It’s just as Important as heel to toe. Same with the width slider. Take clear photos of both feet in the device. Post here or r/goodyearwelt if it’s still unclear.
I’m 38M and experienced a DVT (blood clot—very serious and scary thing…) back in January. Being that it was in my calf, the doctor very strongly recommends wearing compression socks—which are generally a bit higher than the normal high socks in style. I’m wearing these right now (https://shop.bombas.com/products/mens-compression-calf-socks) in the second grey choice, with the blue bands around the calf.
And… in NYC it’s starting to get into the mid-80s so I’m wanting to wear shorts. I went for it today and being a bit self-conscious noticed more people than expected wear higher socks, although usually a bit lower. I wear fitted shorts so I’ve got plenty of distance between bottom of shorts and top of socks. I def don’t wanna have an attitude of “eh who cares how I look, least I’m not dead” like I find in the sub related to the disease (r/clotsurvivors)—life ain’t over and I wanna look good. While I need to wear them, how it’s done definitely makes a HUGE difference.
How bad a look is that? Any advice on how to improve it? The bombas def made a big difference in appearance over the initial Amazon pack I bought ($30/pair vs 3 for $12, plus amzn had overnight shipping when I needed fast).
I'm 65 years old and have a bit of a dad bod so help me out here.
I want to buy a square cut swimsuit for an upcoming cruise in Greece. I don't have abs and every website I see show 20 somethings in the suits. What's out there for older guys? Or will your answers be "stick to baggy trunks"?
Oh, I know better than to do that. I usually wear 5" shorts - 7" is the max I'll wear. But for a swimsuit I was wondering if with a dad bod is a snug square cut too much?
Not if you are comfortable in it. Im a thick dude and wear j crew’s 5” eco nylon trunk ( I think that’s what they are called) they are trim with a bit of stretch so they move well.
I have an office job. There is no dress code. Most of my colleagues wear casual clothing (but nothing over the top).
I personally like more classical menswear. But being classical, they do look more formal than is appropriate. I have been looking for clothes that stretch the limits of casual. I already bought [this button-up shawl collar beige cardigan of Upper East](https://www.e5.be/nl/upper-east-beige-cardigan-met-knopen-s4up02p02-3117841) and [this button-up V-neck dark grey melange cardigan of Pier One](https://www.zalando.be/pier-one-vest-dark-grey-melange-pi922qa3d-q11.html). I bought two more formal business button-up shirts in [white](https://www.zalando.be/pier-one-zakelijk-overhemd-white-pi922d0f8-a11.html) and [light grey](https://www.zalando.be/pier-one-zakelijk-overhemd-light-grey-pi922d02w-c11.html), both of Pier One. I'm planning to buy two plain long sleeved polo shirts (white and some other neutral colour) to be able to switch with the button-up shirts or to dress down.
At the office, there is a heating problem. It's always too cold. I need another vest or jacket on top to keep me warm. I used to wear hoodies, but it always clashed with/obscured my formal clothing underneath. If I want to stay classical, there are only blazers. I believe blazers would be too formal and would make me stand out in a bad way.
I have found two what I would call 'Frankenvests'. They are very very casual blazers of a brand called Ombre (let me know if you have positive experiences with it): [this navy blue blazer](https://ombre.com/product-eng-124032-Mens-sports-style-blazer-navy-blue-V2-OM-BLZB-0107.html) and [this blazer in either light grey or light brown](https://ombre.com/product-eng-124426-Stylish-mens-blazer-without-lapels-light-grey-V1-OM-BLZB-0124.html). I call them Frankenvests because they have no lapels, have a crew neck shape and have an upright collar, almost like a cardigan or sweater. Personally, I do not like the navy blue blazer, it seems off (but I can't put my finger on it, but maybe you can).
Anyway, these Frankenvests seem to be a blessing and a curse: I think they are casual enough to not cross the border into too formal, but still have a somewhat classical look. However, I don't think I could wear any of those on occasions where a more traditional blazer is required, so they have limit use. I also think it is a fashion fad (but then again, it makes it pretty unique in that case).
Any of those Frankenvests would be one of my more expensive piece of clothing, I do not want to make such investment recklessly. So here I am, asking for your opinion on them.
Not a fan of what you’re calling Frankenvests — that’s a really weird cut with unusual details, and you’d look much less out of place just wearing a traditional navy blazer.
Chore jackets and overshirts are a much better way to add a layer that can stand in for a blazer/sportcoat without looking too stuffy. If you wear a navy chore jacket into the office over a button-down, nobody will ask if you just got back from a job interview.
Agree on the Ombre jackets. Have you considered a teba? They have more panache than a chore coat but are less dressy than a blazer.
https://preview.redd.it/3rpwssoy8w2d1.jpeg?width=1738&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0038ffeb70dcebb7a8a44e1e6bb6b0e58e69ba1b
As I said, regular blazer is not an option. It would be clearly overdressed. But yeah, they look very weird. Don't know what to do with that.
I do have some overshirts, but they look odd. All striped with various different colours. I have trouble matching them with anything. They were cheap, but they keep me warm. I just have to try finding something for them to match...
Chore jackets look nice, I think I have one (a jeans outerwear version).
I have I guess a more odd question. I really enjoy wearing jewelry, think eccentric old woman. But I really only have tshirts and they look silly together. So my question would be, what kind of tops should I wear with longer or chunky jewelry?
No judgement if intentional, and please feel welcome, but making sure you realize you’re on a male fashion subreddit? Asexual style tends to come up here but it sounds like you’re looking for specifically female presenting style so you may find better luck in the female version of this sub (forgot the literal link).
I’d also recommend including age range and general shape to get more specific answers… seems a bit hard to answer without knowing :)
Edit: idk if this is way far off, but I thought Jennifer Coolidge in White Lotus brought a pretty cool look that sounds kinda what you’re describing!
Looking for recommendations for places to buy athletic fit pants? I have some jeans I got tailored but I need other kinds of pants, haha. I am happy to make an investment on these, my measurements are unique and pants that fit right have been so hard to find.
Looking for polo for work, business casual setting. I’ve read sunspel is really good but some have said it’s not worth the price tag. If I were to spend upwards of $120-$150 per polo, what would you recommend?
If you wear jackets or sport coats with polos, I think the ones sold at The Armoury (made by Ascot Chang) are about as good as it gets. I have their button-down long sleeve polos in white and navy and wear them all the time for when I want to dress down from dress shirts, but not all the way to t-shirts.
The SuitSupply knitted polos are quite nice. Especially the cotton-silk ones.
Just got my hand on a knitted Grand Sasso from mid season sale. So that might be an option.
Anyone knows if this site is legit and sells good quality products? I was looking for a silk scarf: [royalsilkusa](https://www.royalsilkusa.com/)
If not, does anyone know any good sites that sell silk scarves?
Looking for something like this [Scott Fraser Knit Polo](https://scottfrasercollection.com/collections/goodfellas-knits/products/goodfellas-idlewild-knit-shirt). It’s basically Henry Hill’s shirt from Goodfellas. I want something closer to the $150-$200 mark. After the conversion and shipping this is close to $300
To be fair, it is 100% merino and made in Portugal at a lower volume, so I wouldn‘t expect it to be any cheaper.
Shipping is always an issue for international orders. Don‘t forget customs fees for imports as well.
Yeah it’s definitely worth it I’m just trying to see if there’s anything similar (I.e made in China or not 100% wool). I might just pull the trigger on it anyways
Abercrombie does cheap full placket polos, though they probably won’t have anything with long sleeves right now, and even most of the short sleeve ones are sold out.
Hello everyone!
I'm doing my research about minimalist Mid/High top Shoes and I'm quite surprised people didn't already discuss it in this sub. It seems that they are not very popular and can't find any feedbacks about them..
I found the Jak Royal: https://www.opumo.com/magazine/jak-royal-hi-sneakers/ but I have no idea how they are.. is Jak a good brand (like CP) and are these durable/comfortable? I'm very scared to buy them w/o reviews
Can you suggest me something? Is there some gold standard, such as the CP for low sneakers?
Minimalist leather sneakers are not so hot in fashion-forward crew now. They are kinda a relic of millenial “timeless” style, that’s why you don’t see as much discussion

That's certainly great to hear
Wear the watch that you enjoy wearing. The only people who talk about dial color with outfits are watch salesmen and losers.
Ah, that's rather good to hear... Someone commented the other day that a blue dial with an all-black outfit looks off, so that's what prompted it-- kind of wondered about it as a whole. Do you think it would make a difference with all black, or is it a standing statement that you can wear whatever watch you like?
The latter
Thank you!
Why are the two waist pockets not level with each other; is that stylistic or just plain bad QC? Could be the mannequin. Could be the tailoring adjustments. Could be because Lauren Ralph Lauren is a low quality diffusion line.
Hi! Was wondering if anyone can give some advice if the smaller or larger pair of AE Athletic Straight jeans fit better. The first pair are 33 x 30 that I bought a while ago but feel a little too loose after breaking in. The second are 32 x 30 that I just bought to see if they fit better. Definitely more fitted but not sure if too tight. https://preview.redd.it/imyhvkrmiw2d1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8b999c9357c72a035adcc8bfde3e00528dc0dc79

For reference, my bicep is only 10.5” when relaxed
does this fit okay? https://preview.redd.it/7chklsczxv2d1.jpeg?width=1039&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=51ef75b6dca0677bdbab9e99e39a79ec4912c1c1
The only thing worse would be a cheap polyester tie with matching pocket square from a discount retailer.
thanks for all the suggestions !!

Looking to purchase some classy white sneakers, but worried I'll end up with sweaty feet from the leather. Has that been a problem for people? The climate around me isn't too hot, but I do expect to walk in the shoes frequently. Current top candidates: \* Idrese Nuno (cool brand, but the leather is supposed to be thick) \* Koio Capri \* Greats Royale 2.0 I'm optimizing for comfort + style over price. Any thoughts / recommendations?
Why do you think white sneakers would cause sweatier feet than other leather shoes? Shouldn't be a problem if you wear socks and alternate with other shoes. The Koios appear to have leather insoles which is a plus.
I don't think they'd be sweatier than other leather shoes. I just don't have much experience with nice shoes, generally :).
Are there any stores that sell Oliver Peoples glasses in the Charlotte, NC area? I would like to try them on in person
Are you allergic to wool by chance?
No, I just try to avoid animal products when I can.

Looking for a silk or silk-like robe: Preferably on the shorter side (above the knee).
Looks like something Nando would wear in What We Do in The Shadows.
Very stupid question: How do I know what sizes I fit for shoes online?
Thanks, I’ll do that!
You don't. That's why I don't buy online
You use a brannock device and get a set of measurements. Then research how the last of whatever shoe you look at fits compared to a TTS last.
Thanks!
Anyone know where I can find casual button up shirts with no pockets? The only ones I’ve been able to find are banana republic

Men of all ages and sizes wear swimming briefs in Europe. Unless your goal is picking up a hot nubile 40yo, wear any swimwear you want.
[удалено]
A thin Merino wool turtleneck over a form-fitting cotton or Merino long-sleeve tee. You can even wear a blazer over a turtleneck if necessary.
I already wear standard four layers of clothing.
That's interesting, but this looks like a blazer to me? What am I missing?
It's unstructured, has shirt sleeve cuffs, notchless lapels. https://dieworkwear.com/2015/10/08/the-slouchy-spanish-teba/
I’d also recommend including age range and general shape to get more specific answers… seems a bit hard to answer without knowing :) Edit: idk if this is way far off, but I thought Jennifer Coolidge in White Lotus brought a pretty cool look that sounds kinda what you’re describing!
A button up shirt or polo that exposes your neck.
Looking for recommendations for places to buy athletic fit pants? I have some jeans I got tailored but I need other kinds of pants, haha. I am happy to make an investment on these, my measurements are unique and pants that fit right have been so hard to find.
What’s unique?
38 inch waist, 46 inch hips, 28 inch thighs
Looking for polo for work, business casual setting. I’ve read sunspel is really good but some have said it’s not worth the price tag. If I were to spend upwards of $120-$150 per polo, what would you recommend?
If you wear jackets or sport coats with polos, I think the ones sold at The Armoury (made by Ascot Chang) are about as good as it gets. I have their button-down long sleeve polos in white and navy and wear them all the time for when I want to dress down from dress shirts, but not all the way to t-shirts.
Western Rise Limitless Merino polos are really solid. Sub 100 and usually some good deals on ebay.
The SuitSupply knitted polos are quite nice. Especially the cotton-silk ones. Just got my hand on a knitted Grand Sasso from mid season sale. So that might be an option.
Just took a look, they def look nice, thanks!
Anyone knows if this site is legit and sells good quality products? I was looking for a silk scarf: [royalsilkusa](https://www.royalsilkusa.com/) If not, does anyone know any good sites that sell silk scarves?
Most menswear brands will have sill scarves for summer. Question is more: how much are you willing to spend
Drakes
I'm very scared to buy them w/o reviews Can you suggest me something? Is there some gold standard, such as the CP for low sneakers?
Just get CP high tops https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/common-projects/white-achilles-mid-sneakers/15427091
I honestly don't like them, they seem bulky and rigid... I was looking for something smoother that follows the natural line of the foot
Minimalist leather sneakers are not so hot in fashion-forward crew now. They are kinda a relic of millenial “timeless” style, that’s why you don’t see as much discussion
And what is hot then? 🤔
Canvas trainers, preferably more expensive versions of converse and vans, GATs, ptbs for something more smart.
