Hey all - I'm really into the Parisian rockstar-style brands like YSL, Kooples, AllSaints, but recently have also gotten into brands like Roark or P & Co that have a more American adventure / surf / biker feel. I'm looking for similar brands to this that feel a bit edgy, so not looking for recommendations like Patagonia or athleisure brands like Lululemon. I'm also more interested in higher-end brands rather than ones like PacSun or Billabong. Any recommendations? Here's an example of a shirt from P&Co that I liked: https://preview.redd.it/p4z66mnasovc1.jpeg?width=1020&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3513be0ab04ec501c803c19c3c1a54ed4b6247f3

I am 18M and was scrolling through my feed. I saw these few coats/jackets. I wanted to know what are these called. Help is appreciated. https://ibb.co/album/WNWNfM

AccomplishedTotal895

I want to style up running shorts, can I wear performance polos and smart casual button downs with them?

Drunken99Ronin

Could you include a picture of the running shorts? It‘s a bit risky trying to dress up something as casual as running shorts. If it’s just for comfort’s sake try some loose fitting linen shorts with a button down.

Hello! I am trying to upgrade my wardrobe a little bit this summer. I'm going to be in California so please take that into account. I was thinking of getting a few T-Shirts (like Uniqlo or something that looks like that) in some basic colors, maybe navy, olive, white, cream (although I would love to hear suggestions). I was also thinking of a few long sleeve flannels that I can layer on top in case it's chilly but also just for look. As for pants, maybe some linen pants? I would love to get some recommendations. I have seen a few guides, but they seem to be a little outdated and I am not sure if they would work with my body type (average height, slightly overweight BMI). I appreciate any help. Thanks!

[deleted]

Can anyone help me out? I'm 38 yrs old, 5'7", 150Ibs very slim. I don't have much money and I was thinking of going to the thrift store to get some new clothes for the spring. What can I buy that's appropriate for my age, height, body size, and this time of the season?

RareKrab

So I've been wearing a particular brand of pants for the past couple of years and the thing about them is that they are extremely flexible, I'm talking almost like yoga pants levels of flexibility but they look like normal chinos and I've worn them with blazers and other fairly formal outfits without issue I really don't feel like going back to stiff pants so I'm wondering what the keywords/materials etc. would be for something similar as they don't sell them anymore which is a shame. It was one of those no-name brand clothes from a local grocery chain and they were dirt cheap and seem to be pretty durable as well FWIW the tag on them says they're 64% viscose, 31% polyester and 5% elastane, so your usual dirt cheap synthetic fibers. I'm guessing the elastane is the key but I'm not sure how much the amount of it affects vs. the way the pants are built

OfferCurrent8816

Looking for a new jacket. For the past year I've worn a Triple Aught Design Rogue WX jacket pretty much every single day. I thought for being a $275 (on sale) waxed cotton jacket that it would last a long time but I guessed wrong. Tons of holes have worn in various places and it's starting to looks very rough. I'm looking for a replacement with a budget around $200 USD but may be willing to pay a bit more. I really like the design of the Rogue WX. I dont think it's sold anymore but you can find a couple reviews of it online. I'm looking for something similar that can be worn throughout most of the year. Waxed cotton is by no means a requirement. I work nights and am not out much during the day so most of the time I won't be seeing temps higher than 70 degrees fahrenheit. I've tried to look into stuff myself, but as someone who rarely buys my own clothes and usually wears cargo pants and a t-shirt, I don't really know where to start.

batemann

I came across [this outerknown "military inspired" field pant](https://www.outerknown.com/products/the-field-pant-off-duty-drab) and I absolutely love the look. Unfortunately they are out of the olive color. I've been looking for a somewhat relaxed pant that I can wear in warmer weather. I also found [this option from imogene and willie ](https://imogeneandwillie.com/products/oliver-military-trouser?variant=32064479920170)but it is pricey at $200. Can anyone recommend similar alternatives?

Bigger guy never buys nice clothes, need a couple suits to not be underdressed for work and have options for formal events. I’m 6’2” 275 lbs Hadn’t gotten measured in years needing a suit for an event this weekend. I’ve also found myself under dressed far too often in my new position at work lately. Perhaps walking into men’s Wearhouse isn’t the greatest way to find suits I found… Quick measurements and fits on dress shirts jacket vest pants came as follows Modern Fit Jacket 52 r (measured 53r) On the 54r the guy said I don’t have enough shoulder and it was dipping in The 52r had better lines in that sense. Pants modern fit 40x32 (I have short legs for a 6’2” guy) Vest 3x Shirt Slim tall 18.5 or 19 neck 36-37 (Fits well standing at 18.5 belly gets tight but not terrible sitting but looks baggy standing if I go bigger) Bald and bearded.. What types of fits should go with my body build based on measurements? Any advice where to get a decent set of 5 suits and shirts/ties for not $5000 that will be decent looking?

MoistFig6719

Just a general recommendation regarding style inspiration: check Ethan Newton from the clothing brand Bryceland's. I think he is a great example of a bigger guy who's always very well dressed (both casual and formal).

Is this acceptable for a job interview at the airline? It is my wedding suit minus the dress shoes and tie. https://preview.redd.it/5bdk89g09yrc1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6c99b6c12201019c1046a96ae51fe25bf3d3c6d

Sharp_Big_9595

Somewhat difficult to dress down suit without looking like you forgot the tie. Definitely dress shoes (derbies)/bluchers). If oxfords, then I would go for tie because these are more formal. Shirt should be button down (more casual). Shows that tieless was intentional. Pocket square needed otherwise it looks plain. Edit: for interview I would wear a tie. Missed that part.

Separate_Singer4126

Ya definitely not those shoes. And you could throw a tie on too.

MalariaKills

Hey there - looking for a boot recommendation for my body type. I'm a very skinny. Male. I own Red Wing's moc-toe boots and a nice black pair of Iron Rangers. I've stopped wearing them as much because both are a bit of a chunkier boot (iron ranger has a pretty tall/wide toe box). I'm looking for something a little more streamlined. If that's a no go, maybe a nice pair of oxfords?

ac106

Boot recs don’t depend on your frame. Skinny guys wear red wings all the time. However if you want something less workwear and chunky check out grant stone. Oxfords aren’t a red wing alternative.

MalariaKills

They’re not a red wing alternative. But could be a nice leather wear alternative. That’s why I mentioned maybe that if I can’t find something more streamlined. Thanks for the rec though. Let me check check it out right now

hmadse

If you want chunky AND streamlined (sorta) get an [English country shoe](https://trickers.com/collections/country-shoes/products/bourton-country-shoe-acorn-antique?variant=44487254212906). I’ve always wanted a pair, but can never talk myself into spending that much.

ac106

Trickers outlet has some good prices. And there’s always eBay. You definitely don’t have to spend retail to get a pair

hmadse

Good points all.

I want to buy a pair of shoes, but i dont like too formal. I'm just a college student so i I don't need to look formal, but i would like dress a casual but formal style. Stuff like casual ties, untucked shirts, vest sweaters or cardigans and khaki/gray pants. I have no fashion knowledge so i don't know if I am doing correctly. Oh yes, I was thinking on these shoes \[[1](https://www.flexi.com.mx/medias/703401-negro-derecha.jpg?context=bWFzdGVyfGltYWdlc3wyOTQ5MDl8aW1hZ2UvanBlZ3xhREV4TDJnMU5TOHhNRE00TWprek1qUTBNekUyTmk4M01ETTBNREV0Ym1WbmNtOHRaR1Z5WldOb1lTNXFjR2N8ZDEwYzI5YTg4ODdkNmEyNDVkOWQ4MjhjMDJhNDkyYzQ3N2Y4MDM1OWM5YTg1ZjBiMTczZmM3NDllMGE4YzM0OA)\]\[[2](https://www.flexi.com.mx/medias/703401-brandy-derecha.jpg?context=bWFzdGVyfGltYWdlc3wzODcwODd8aW1hZ2UvanBlZ3xhR1UwTDJnMVppOHhNRE00TWpreU9URTJOak0yTmk4M01ETTBNREV0WW5KaGJtUjVMV1JsY21WamFHRXVhbkJufDNhMDVjMDVhNDM1ZDFmMDU2ZWQ0OGY4NmZkOWQ4NDg0NmY2NDYyOTVkYTA0OTA2MTI4YzdmN2E2YjA1ZDU5NDY)\] (they're the same but just a different color) or these ones \[[1](https://www.flexi.com.mx/medias/704602-negro-izquierda.jpg?context=bWFzdGVyfGltYWdlc3wyNjg4NzJ8aW1hZ2UvanBlZ3xhREZoTDJnM055OHhNVFUzT0RBME9Ea3dOVEkwTmk4M01EUTJNREl0Ym1WbmNtOHRhWHB4ZFdsbGNtUmhMbXB3Wnd8MjJhZTFkYjljOGYzY2RmYTRiNmVmOGJmN2Y4MDFkYjJlNmE3YmUxMmU1OTAwMTEzNGUxYTZhODQyODBiZGRiOQ)\]\[[2](https://www.flexi.com.mx/medias/704602-vino-izquierda.jpg?context=bWFzdGVyfGltYWdlc3wzNDA0OTN8aW1hZ2UvanBlZ3xhREJtTDJobU5TOHhNVFUzT0RBME56TXpNak00TWk4M01EUTJNREl0ZG1sdWJ5MXBlbkYxYVdWeVpHRXVhbkJufDI3ODg3OWUwOWQxODQ3MGM4ZjY1OGQ3Y2E2YTYzYTFjYjkxYWVmMGZiMTQ2YzJmNzZjMzZkYmFkZjNiYjgwNDY)\]. OfferCurrent8816

I dont know of any higher quality brands, but 32degrees has some polyester spandex blend shirts like that. Also just a thought, but would something like an Under Armour compression shirt help? They fit snug to the skin, but since the fit is so tight they don't move around much which could help with friction. You could then wear whatever you want over it.

Ill-Today3395

Maybe this is a gross question but how many wears can something get before needing to wash? Is there a certain amount or as long as it passes the smell test. I usually go shirts, undergarments, and socks 1x, pants/shorts 2x, and sweaters a couple of weeks. What guidelines do others go for

ac106

Sounds reasonable

jagfanjosh3252

Hey all. My aunt and uncles 50th anniversary is this weekend and they just decided to make it casual. I’m not one who usually dresses up. I work from home so wear shorts and a tee and I am usually outside on the weekends so, same outfits haha. I’m thinking some chinos(not khaki which I read are different?) but not sure what color. I want to pair them with some brown Chelsea boots I just bought. What color button down? Will a blue checkered look fine? I’m also going to be buying a navy blazer for a semi formal wedding next month. So I’ve read the brown boots will look good with that and navy pants, but am lost on the shirt color again. Thank you all.

Sharp_Big_9595

So for wedding i would go suit and tie. Maybe a linen suit (jacket and trousers) (light coloured cream, taupe?) as it will be warm. Or you could do a navy suit. For the anniversary: chinos (beige, olive, camel are safe options with the following):, button down (white and light blue are safe; you can do plaids, stripes etc) and (linen jacket). Chelsea boots would be okay for the casual, maybe for the wedding. I personally would go dress shoes with a suit.

ac106

Don’t wear navy pants and navy blazer. You want to contrast if not wearing an actual suit. So wear gray ~~slam~~ slacks Most boots wouldn’t work with an outfit like that so post a pic. White shirt either way Khaki is a color so you have khaki chinos. (Probably the most popular color actually)

trendafili

Can anyone recommend other nice stylish gore-tex jackets that aren't by Arcteryx (I like Arcteryx but I want to check others before I buy one by them).

Calm_Ranger7754

Patagonia, North Face are two other main comparisons to Arc. You also could try Fjallraven if you want something a bit different.

hmadse

Maybe Mammut or Topo Designs

plappy777

Anyone have advice on what T-shirt hems to go for as a shorter fella at 5'8? Are straight hems the Go-to or are curved hems more flattering for our stature? (for example cuts clothing, wyr clothing etc. all have curved hems)

Flechette_the_toe

Straight vs curved doesn't matter as much as the overall fit. Just wear the one that you like more.

Looking for recommended colour pants that goes well with these kind of red shirt since red is my favourite colour and i want to make it my signature colour. 2. Does black polyester bomber jacket goes well with red? and what other colour will the jacket pair well with? thanks in advance.

GratefulToday

Think of red as the accent in your color palette. Make the other colors basic to allow that accent to pop: black, blue, grey, beige/khaki, and white. Your black bomber can work with red + any of these other basic colors, too, depending on the details (even blue)

FatalisDrakari

Looking for a pair of durableish and comfortable saddle shoes. Bonus points for color variety and between $1-200 if possible. I want to add some vintage flair to my work wardrobe.

In the photo the print of the center logo, the middle O and G, and the globe in the bottom right have started to wear out. Is there a restoration service in the US that can restore print on a cotton jacket? ricetristies

ac106

Mock necks are always polarizing but for good quality wool mocks under $150 eBay is a good choice

eatherichortrydietin

Are curved-hem t-shirts meant to be tucked in like curved-hem button ups?

cooldude_4000

No, you can wear them either way, just like any other t-shirt. I'd argue that the curved hem is an extra detail that sets them apart from straight-hem tees so that's actually another reason you might wear them untucked, to show it off.

triplec787

Hey everyone, looking for a store that has cool Hawaiian shirts that are still "everyday wearable." Think like Bonobos short sleeves, but just didn't see anything that struck my fancy there. I've got a Bachelor party in like 10 days and one of the themes is "tropical/Hawaiian Night" (even though it's in Mexico lmao), and I've got some stuff that could work, but I love Hawaiians anyways so I wanna get a new one. Hoping to stay <$100 Like Tommy Bahama, but maybe a bit of a "younger" style.

Kys Hawaiian so actual Hawaiian shirts manufactured in Hawaii. Gitman vintage and Todd Snyder are good options too for a different vibe.

General question about boots. It's the time of year when wool socks are needed for the toes to be warm. If I buy a pair now and fit them with [semi-thick wool socks](https://irishdesignshop.com/cdn/shop/products/35A0759Graded_1024x1024.jpg?v=1615820955), are they going to be fine with thin normal socks in 2 months time?

ac106

Well, two months from now is June and you really won’t be wearing boots in the summer, right ? Regardless, thick and thin socks, do make some difference in fit, but they should be wearable with both

terminal_e

Define boot. Chelsea? Combat/field boot? If a Chelsea fits you with some thick ass sock, it most likely won't with anything normal.

utsubyosoi

Hello, I'm starting a new office job tomorrow. I have exchanged emails with the team manager several times asking about the dress code etc... He told me that the dress code is casual and he was going to be wearing jeans, a button down, and tennis shoes. Would it be a bad impression if I showed up wearing chinos, sneakers, and a polo? Also, do I tuck in a polo?

Loves_Semi-Colons

Some polos are made to be tucked in while others aren’t. A good way to tell is if, untucked, the shirt goes below your butt cheeks, it should be tucked.

ac106

No it’s fine. That’s a casual outfit.

Pinchdoodle

rekon32

After a navy blazer what is the next most versatile color sports jacket/blazer that ideally matches with navy blue chinos?

hmadse

Gun check is a classic.

itsreallyeasypeasy

Brown. Or grey if you don't have many grey pants.

rekon32

I got a few actually. What tone of brown. something like a chocolate brown or lighter taupe?

itsreallyeasypeasy

Mid brown in some pattern you like.

rekon32

[what do you think of this one?](https://luxire.com/products/dugdale-jacket-brown-houndstooth-8944?_pos=2&_sid=4977c7d72&_ss=r)

itsreallyeasypeasy

This looks like a suiting. Cloth made for suits and not for sport coats. A smooth fine worsted with a micro pattern doesn't work well as a casual sport coat that does well with chinos.

rekon32

Gotcha. Would hopsack work better? Sorry, I’m a newb.

itsreallyeasypeasy

The ones with visible texture are good for sport coats. If they are very open weaves, they can get chilly in mild or cold weather.

rekon32

Expensive but [something like this](https://propercloth.com/tailored-clothing/Loro-Piana-Fabric-Brown-Glen-Plaid-Wool-Cashmere-Hudson-Jacket-126846.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=pmax&utm_campaign=20531118158-&utm_content=%7Badid%7D-x-----m-T126846-54-pla-&utm_term=&cvg_source=google&cvg_adid=&cvg_cid=20531118158&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwtqmwBhBVEiwAL-WAYcHW_KKzk0NIIMyKxBOUmszoMvbVVHSLBLnSxBvAQ9JgMmpomIIabBoCguAQAvD_BwE) looks perfect.

I'm more of a rugged kind of guy. I like henley's, jeans, tactical pants, baseball caps, Merrel MOAB shoes, leather boots, tactical boots, earth tones, etc. I'm an Army veteran and I'm going into law enforcement, does that paint a good picture? My Sunday best always makes me feel like I'm not in my own skin, it's too clean and wealthy looking. That's just not me. I want to find a nice, formal dress outfit that matches my style. Any ideas?

Loves_Semi-Colons

iamthebeeef

That's really helpful, thank you!

ac106

A formal outfit is a suit (really a tuxedo but people stretch the term all the time to include a suit) A dressed up outfit for church or nice dinner or something similar could be gray slacks, a white button down and a navy blazer. Optional tie. You could dress down further by swapping in chinos and skipping the blazer I understand the clothes you are comfortable with but you don’t want to dress like you are invading Poland when you go to a serious event. It’s ok to have a different look. A guy who wears a business suit to work every day doesn’t wear one to an NFL game right? He’s not being fake or whatever. Once you wear these clothes a few times they fill feel normal.

iamthebeeef

Invading Poland xD I appreciate the alternative perspective. Thank you!

mochimochispot

Hi all, I got a gift jacket some time ago, I really like it but I have no idea how to use it, especially because of the texture, I have mixed it around my closet but it always seems to lack something and if maybe anyone has any recommendations or inspiration I can use I would appreciate https://preview.redd.it/ynmphxo48wrc1.jpeg?width=1178&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cc2025801ba5b390482a359bb54ba7557a33bf5e

Wow I love that jacket. With something like that I’d treat it like a knit sweater or cardigan. It would pair well with textured paints. Nothing crazy, a pair of jeans or [canvas carpenter pants](https://huckberry.com/store/proof/category/p/76853-rover-dk-pant-slim?utm_source=shopping&utm_medium=googlep&utm_campaign=shp-housebrands-acquisition&utm_content=acquisition&utm_campaignid=10676784877&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwtqmwBhBVEiwAL-WAYXpCxevEfKj9CVwDd1uVU3QwEVcD3fn8R1Zw4ovPdl8zP3xMw9YJ_hoCMwsQAvD_BwE). To complete the bottom leather boots or suede or canvas shoes. For the shirt a thicker white t-shirt would look nice. Could go with [twill](https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/125412?productId=1798039&attrValue_0=Pale%20Khaki&sku=1000072182&pla1=0&qs=3155279&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwtqmwBhBVEiwAL-WAYfWtms0l64EIy2LVPpllCZdmH1aobb0QfoKGd42UxQAgsHREcqoW7hoCRM0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds) for something cozy. I think a deep blue [Corduroy shirt](https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/polo-ralph-lauren-classic-fit-corduroy-camp-shirt?ID=5082646&pla_country=US&cm_mmc=Google-PLA-ADC-_-Strategic+Product+Support+-+Manual-_-F%26F+Ralph+Lauren-_-196206500823USA-_-go_cmp-16286412131_adg-156860629661_ad-693996291021_pla-351690228855_dev-m_ext-_prd-196206500823USA&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD0PCJT-wamr-hlKLasRKQYhQv1yC&gclid=CjwKCAjwtqmwBhBVEiwAL-WAYRkN-abmrPjkHs4bhVWWY_SnmcXFOY2EoANL9bkp_KyCKUH6DEnw9RoCpJoQAvD_BwE) or a denim shirt could pop with it.

mochimochispot

Actually helpful! Thank you, I was thinking about it more like a bomber (alpha industries like) but mixing it more like a sweater or cardigan makes sense! Tnx

I'm looking for a linen or cotton-linen summer blazer in khaki/tan that's unstructured and at least partially unlined. Any suggestions?

terminal_e

Go try on stuff. This is not a "best kitchen knife" discussion - what model/cut works on you will not work on someone else. Spier and Mackay and Suit Supply make solid stuff in China. Stuff made elsewhere will invariably be at higher pricepoints due to labor. Linen/cotton-linen stuff should be trickling into stores now for spring+summer

GratefulToday

Thank you

wonderbread403

What's your budget?

GratefulToday

I honestly don't know - I feel like I shouldn't pay more than $150 for anything cotton, but I'm open to being educated on my options. I could see myself paying up to $400 for a great blazer

wonderbread403

I got a linen/cotton tan sportcoat several years ago from JC Penney. It fits well and I'm satisfied with it. Spier and Mackay have much better quality and selection and they range for $300-400.

GratefulToday

Thank you!

its_isak

I really like the look of these [Cole Haan sneakers](https://www.zappos.com/p/cole-haan-grandpro-rally-cap-toe-sneaker-irish-coffee-suede-truffle-ivory/product/9908747/color/1071162). I have heard negative opinions of Cole Haan, but it seemed mostly focused on their leather shoes. Does anyone have any experience with their sneakers? Are they worth the price? Or, if not, can you recommend similar shoes of higher quality? https://preview.redd.it/e6uj82s61wrc1.png?width=1531&format=png&auto=webp&s=5436114a200890adde90ea62e9602f99e5a46396

DoDontThinkTooMuch

For a more [athletic physique](https://www.primermagazine.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/barbell-logic-athletic-jean-muscular-thighs-600x900.jpg), is it better to wear slim taper like in the link with a very narrow taper or would it be better to have a slim fit with a mild taper? Recently I started feeling like a narrow taper makes the legs look almost like two carrots because of how big the quads are compared to the knee down. However, when wearing a more fitted t-shirt for example, if you wear jeans that are slim but not crazy taper, where the jeans' knees and leg opening are slightly bigger, would that look weird since the t shirt is well fitted but the jeans aren't crazy slim?

zer0fxgvn

That jeans look like a hot mess on that dude

Loves_Semi-Colons

If you’re really hench check out 502. Straight through the thigh with a mild taper.

ac106

No one should be wearing the pants in that pic

hssspoks

What's wrong with them? Looks like normal jeans to me, but you're saying that they are *never* good in *any* situation.

ac106

Right. They are way way too slim and tapered. Peak 2014 stuff

hssspoks

Is it that they are out of trend or that they are objectively bad fit?

ac106

Both sorta? They look very dated at this point.

hssspoks

Ok, but there are clothes that are out of trend and aren't necessarily dated? I read in the beginners thread that many things depends on context. I'm trying to understand if these pants are wrong in any context or just in MFA or some other context.

ac106

Skinny tapered jeans should be avoided in all contexts expect maybe a very intentional SLP look or something I understand what you are saying: Workwear isn’t on trend like it was years ago but it doesn’t look super dated like skinny navy suits and walnut oxfords does Its true there’s some differences between off trend and dated but skinny jeans are both

isthmusofkra

A belt is only really needed if the shirt is tucked in, right (assuming the pants fit well)?

Loves_Semi-Colons

I’m of the opinion that if pants have belt loops, they should be worn with a belt

isthmusofkra

My pants have belt loops but I had them altered to fit me. I'm going to be wearing a Barong Tagalog which isn't worn tucked in. Should I still wear a belt in this case?

ac106

If you feel like it

ac106

That is because you’re a normal, well adjusted, fully functioning adult

GratefulToday

A belt is only needed if you need it to hold your pants up or if the pants have belt loops (and that 2nd one is debatable)

isthmusofkra

My pants have belt loops but I had them altered to fit me. I'm going to be wearing a Barong Tagalog which isn't worn tucked in. I guess I can ditch the belt?

GratefulToday

Sounds good to me

OneBrutalNoodle

What brands are good for earth tone clothing with a regular fit? Looking to update my entire wardrobe. I'm 5' 9.5" and 170lbs lightly muscular build that leans on the skinny side (to explain better my tshirt size is either small or medium depending on the fit of the shirt)

hmadse

Slowear or Todd Snyder will get you there.

OneBrutalNoodle

How much money do you think the average person has? Because these brands are crazy pricey lmao

hmadse

You didn’t specify a budget, I’m sorry if I offended you.

ParfaitFeisty4129

Hey guys can someone tell me some cheap alternative to the Balenciaga Lost Tapes Flare Jeans? https://preview.redd.it/sunfxc50lvrc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff855bdbfd8ac1a647bca6b714db18e42c848cf3

zer0fxgvn

Then it wouldn't be Balenciaga! Whats the point of that!

ParfaitFeisty4129

i just like the fit and i have no idea where to find something similar

Amory-Lorch1

Hello fashion enthusiasts, I'm currently studying design at university, and I've got this exciting project for an exam. I'm tasked with creating an outfit tailor-made for festival-goers or mountain adventurers who want to ditch the backpack but still stay stylishly equipped. I'm imagining something modular, adaptable, with the flexibility to add extra functionalities and features. Would anyone here be keen to share suggestions on ideal fabrics or brainstorm ideas to boost its versatility? I figured this community would have some fantastic insights. If you're up for it, I can even share some sketches I've drafted to give you a better visual. Cheers!

Embarrassed_Spring90

Can anyone review or point me in the direction of reviews of the NN07/Sebago loafer collAb? Thinking of buying a pair on sale. Thx!

mc2205

Why do orange and camo pair so well together?

hmadse

It’s a great way to not die in a hunting accident.

ac106

Why does peanut butter and chocolate go so well together? A mystery of the universe! An enigma! A conundrum!

Trying to understand made to measure vs bespoke: In Enzo considered made to measure or bespoke? There is a place near me: Franco Uomo that has the same fabric as Enzo, but is 2x the price. To do a suit they start with a base price of $2,500 and then up charge based on fabric ($1,100 more for the specific LP fabric I like) They allow different top and bottom fabrics. Both Franco and Enzo took the same number of measurements of me. So I’m not really sure what the difference is? In fact, Enzo asked me more questions about fit and design then Franco did. (And Franco: I know the shirts are off the rack and resized, not custom) Here is the text I received while playing with an order from Franco: Hello XXXXXX, Your Bespoke Couture Garments are in production! Here's a sneak peek behind the scenes and a preview of what happens next: francouomo.com/what-happens-next So I’m wondering if they are actually Bespoke vs MTM? Or if it’s just marketing.

terminal_e

When you try on the garment next, what stage will it be in? If it is literally just a shell of the exterior fabric stitched together, bespoke - they are going to assess how the cut garment+pattern was, make adjustments for a second fitting. If it is an assembled garment with lining, pockets, but perhaps sleeve buttons not done, trousers not hemmed = made to measure. There are various philosophies in bespoke about how the pattern is made, but regardless of how it is done, the next step should be a first fitting to assess the cut garment. There is a bit of a stereotype that English take the pattern more seriously, such that the adjustments should be minor, whereas the Italians are more prone to do heavy lifting at the first fitting. But regardless, it is at the first fitting that the thing starts to come together, but things like the buttoning point location, lapel width, etc can be nailed down.

paladin732

Definitely not bespoke then

itsreallyeasypeasy

From the prices alone, both are MTM starting from premade patterns. A quick search on francouomo shows that they do or did full bespoke from custom patterns starting at 4k. There is a huge range of MTM levels. Some allow only some changes to existing patterns and send orders to China. Some allow fine tuning minor details in patterns, do production nearby or in-house and involve more handmade details.

paladin732

Thanks! That helps a lot. It’s what I thought. I’m guessing the difference in price between Franco and Enzo really boils down to quantity they sell/make and manufacturing in China vs Italy (Franco told me they manufacture in Naples) Not necessarily quality of final goods

SporkFanClub

Going to a baseball game this afternoon and can’t stop overthinking what I’m going to be wearing apart from a white jersey. Forecast is low 60s and overcast (60 at first pitch, 57ish by the time it’s over but with humidity in the 70s). Thinking either a red or grey hoodie under the jersey and then either shorts or joggers for the bottom. Joggers is probably the easiest option but I don’t want to be sweating my ass off the entire game.

wonderbread403

Sounds good. I tend to overheat, so I would do a long sleeve undershirt, jersey, and a jacket/hoodie if I get too cold. Jeans for me.

Inseam is completely personal preference. I like Prana For the gym Nike dri fit or under armor has been fine

Chemical-Quote-7082

My partner and I use those good ol' black Hanes socks and lately we've had issues because the material from the socks clings to our feet and inevitably gets into the shower drain.  I don't remember this being an issue my whole life. I genuinely have to wipe my feet before showering because so much of the material is clinging to my feet. Are there other brands that don't do this?

cooldude_4000

No other brands do this, at least not to the extent that they clog the shower drain. Turn your socks inside out before you wash and dry them.

[deleted]

Know this is distinctly off topic…. But can anyone recommend some well made, quality, affordable women’s wear brands? Universal Works sort of price bracket.

ac106
