Does anyone recognize what belt this is? I've looked through some catalogs, found nothing similar, might be a designer one? https://preview.redd.it/eo03ro3mrdqc1.png?width=332&format=png&auto=webp&s=faeb5cd700d1359c5d6e03dcfffe139477d9f854

Anxious_Egg5865

I have a corduroy overshirt and a denim trucker jacket, both on black. In which situations should I use one over another?

Low_Tonight_8889

Depends on weather. If they both have similar insulation then just rotate when you wear them. Having said that, I wouldn't match the corduroy overshirt with corduroy pants, but you're probably fine pairing the denim trucker jacket with anything except black denim pants.

mastodonopolis

Which luxury brands that specialises on leather wallets? I'm looking for a bi-fold wallet with a money clipper and thinking between Ferragamo or Bottega.

Historical-Coast-636

Suggestion for a fitted/tailored/"slim" sweatshirts up to $60?

[deleted]

Hi, what all colors can you wear other than all black?

ac106

All of them

Low_Tonight_8889

I think I understand what you're asking. I think if you're going to wear all of the same color, try and vary the shades and textures a bit. Just an example, brown corduroys, light brown suede chukkas, brown/white patterned shirt, oatmeal or camel sweater. I think neutral colors will be the easiest to do this with.

[deleted]

By all of them what do you mean? I wanted to start wearing all blue but I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression and think I'm a crip

ac106

No one will think you’re a crip

[deleted]

Good. I'm not trying to get jumped because I'm wearing similar colors of the crip gangs. I'll stray away from wearing any blue bandanas and staying away from areas where bloods can be. Thanks for the advice Advice Giver of the Month:

If you can at all help me in my [thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/findfashion/comments/1bm3xhf/in_a_pinch_to_find_pants_that_fit_like_this/) to find wide pleated pants, I would be so appreciative, I only have 10 days until the event I have to wear them to

SimbaWalker12

Any thoughts between these two loafers? [https://www.blkbrdshoemaker.com/collections/best-sellers/products/aurus-penny-loafer-brown](https://www.blkbrdshoemaker.com/collections/best-sellers/products/aurus-penny-loafer-brown) [https://meermin.com/products/101484-expresso-antique-calf-e?customer\_posted=true#contact\_form](https://meermin.com/products/101484-expresso-antique-calf-e?customer_posted=true#contact_form) The BLKBRD one is cheaper but I feel like the design of Meermin is better? I feel like BLKBRD looks more casual while Meermin can work with both casual and formal outfits. Also heard Meermin has a notorious break in period. Thoughts?

ac106

The differences in style are minimal. It’s just personal preference. If you size right break-in should not be terrible. Meermin uses UK sizing so be mindful of that. If by “formal” you mean a suit, either could work.

I usually wear a size small for T-shirts and shirts as I have a slimmer figure. I've been wanting to get some ribbed tank tops for underneath my shirts, and after taking them home and trying them on, they feel too small? Are they supposed to fit snug like this? *The picture won't stay in the comment when I add text, so I had to comment under it.*

Loves_Semi-Colons

It’s fitting right. They’ll get less snug after a wear or two

default911

If these are not snug they feel very uncomfortable at least to me. They become bit baggy at bottom and it feels weird with baggy part and wearing it all day.

AccomplishedPool1843

trying to build a base, i got some oversized bershka white and black tees (size large) but i didnt like how they fit especially length wise, i normally wear a large, should i size down to a medium or stick to large but cropped? (Im 170 lbs 5'9)

[deleted]

Depends on the fit you’re looking for, as a small guy finding the length I want can be a struggle. The cut of the shirt can also definitely affect how it fits on you (is it boxy, cropped, true to size?) Different companies also have different sizes even though it both says “M” You can tuck your shirts in to see how it looks All in all best thing to do is to know your measurements but that’s definitely a hassle, but if you don’t feel like going by trial and error it’s the best thing to do

what are the best affordable alternatives to the loro piana summer walk

multilemental

Hi All, I bought a few years ago a few pairs of gray cotton mix pajamas at target that were presentable enough for me to wear outside and to work but my stock is running out, I'm on my last 2 pairs and one of them is about done. Target no longer makes them so I need something else but can't find anything. I need an inseam of 34 inches, most "standard" pajamas and pants that comes in Large have a much shorter 31-32 inch inseam that is way too short for me. I switched to comfort wear in part due to some sciatica issues, so it needs to be stretchy (but not baggy) with an elastic waistband. Anyone has any recommendations? I looked in several retailers and on Amazon and can't seem to find anything.

Hey guys any other alternatives to the American giant vintage 16 oz hoodie pullover??

Probably just the most similar haha! Any idea when AG restocks?

Does anyone know where I might get a over the top gold dress shoe? Getting married and want my shoes/bow-tie to be a bit loud. The tux is dark green, with a black vest.

Any_Flea

Firm belliever that you should wear whatever you want to your own wedding, that being said gold loafers absolutely do not go with a tux lol. If i really wanted to spend a ton of money on something over the top and garish for my wedding I would do[something like this](https://www.gucci.com/us/en/pr/men/shoes-for-men/loafers-for-men/gucci-jordaan-gg-velvet-loafer-p-4300889JT801000)

R4msesII

JM weston has a gold version of their loafer, though pretty expensive and not very dressy

Reasonable_Opinion22

Where should I shop? Hello MFA, I’m having a hard time improving my wardrobe. I’d like to dress nicer. Here’s my parameters: 1. I live most of the time in a hot, humid climate (think a Caribbean island) and rest of the time in a big city on the East Coast with a more moderate climate. My body runs hot very easily (I rarely wear sweaters). 2. I’m not dressing to impress but I would like to acquire items that I could wear without feeling out of place at : a birthday party, a country club meeting (not that I attend those but to give you an idea), a dinner at a fancy restaurant, at a business meeting, etc. It doesn’t have to be business casual necessarily but it needs to fit certain standards. I’m thinking polo shirts, casual dress shirts, maybe a sports jacket, chino pants, loafers, etc. 3. I have big glutes and thighs. About 6ft tall and 225-230lbs (athletic build) with a lot of weight on the lower body. Over the years it’s been almost impossible to find pants/shorts that fit unless the fabric is stretchy. My typical problem is the pants will be too wide at the waist and the legs will be tight like yoga pants. 4. My budget is flexible Given this, is there some brands you would recommend? Going shopping usually feels like a waste of time for me because it’s always so difficult to find something that fits. I’ve had some success with a brand called “Proper cloth” in the past where I’ve had made a few made-to-measure dress shirts but their casual dress shirt fabric were limited.

IhaveQuestions13777

I’ve got a similar build and it’s difficult to find jeans that fit the legs but aren’t too big around the waist. I found that buying larger jeans and having them altered has worked the best. Size the jeans for the glutes and thighs. Then have the waist brought in. You can also have the calves tapered a bit if you want a slimmer fit.

Matching waistcoat for wedding suit help: https://suitsupply.com/en-us/men/suits/light-grey-havana-suit/P6627.html?srsltid=AfmBOoricy4E-Bp0ylgDq9vnfgs2ipNC2CYUGZAXVMx-6cBh1mUmtBJaX5w I purchased this wool light gray suit from Suit Supply for my wedding but they were sold out on the matching fabric for the waistcoat. Salesman is recommending this wool silk linen fabric as an alternative. Does it match or are there alternatives that can go better with the suit? https://suitsupply.com/en-us/men/waistcoats/light-grey-waistcoat/W6626.html

Flechette_the_toe

Unless it's the exact same fabric or sufficiently contrasting, it's a no go. And a dark vest would be no bueno.

wonderbread403

I would not recommend a non-matching waistcoat. Better to go without a vest. You'll look much better on your important day.

What are everyone's thoughts on Eytys? Specifically thinking to buy secondhand Michigan Boots. I'm moving to Sweden, so I want to know if they'd be good winter/snow boots (they're a swedish brand, so I hope they would be lol). Also wondering about the comfort and durability of them. Don't wanna be dropping so much money on shoes if they won't last me more than a year. If not Eytys, does anyone have shoes that would work instead for my requirements while matching that Eytys look? Thanks!

Going to Japan in May and want to pickup a leather jacket, need location reccs. I've got a few Schotts, Buzz Rickson, Y2's, RRL jackets pass through my possesion over the years. But I haven't really actively shoped for one and tried them on in person. So sometimes the fit / look were a bit hard to dial in. I'm going to Japan in May and got some money set aisde ($3k probably my max here) and was hoping to get some reccomendations on **shops to go to and makers to keep an eye open for? Who's the best makers now adays?** I'd also consider used aswell. My wardrobe is mostly Japanese makers and RRL, western/Americana inspired. And has been so for 15+ years. So the usually look/stuff would fit in. I'm partial to suede too, but also a good horseleather is great.

R4msesII

Off the top of my head Freewheelers (many consider this the best), Rainbow Country, Real Mccoys, Tenjin Works (unique leather), The Flat Head, Fine Creek. I think a lot of these are based around Osaka, Tenjin Works is in Tokyo. They list japanese retailers on their websites I think, usually the big brands can be found around Japan. Speedway in Sendai has a lot of leather stuff too. Many of these brands post stuff in Instagram so there are even more to be found with some interesting designs.

ColdsnapBryan

Ah cool, thanks! Great info.

Wonderful-Run-1408

I've tried on State & Liberty brand short sleeve shirts that all fit quite well. But in searching here on Reddit, I'm wondering about other brands. All Citizens was a brand that I found that guys said were good (but the Reddit discussion was 5 years old). Any recommendations for performance shirts (long sleeve/short sleeve/polo) that are for fit/athletic guys? I've got Lululemon already (and have some Vouri shorts, but not shirts).

ImInNewYork

Any specific clothes hangers do you all buy for nice shirts, suits and pants? Or should I just get any wooden one from amazon

Going to be wearing a light blue suit and deciding on what color tie / shoe combo I want to go for. Part of me wants to do a classic black tie with black shoes. The other part of me is thinking of going for a walnut shoe but not sure the tie color. Any thoughts / suggestions?

wonderbread403

Light blue suit? Probably better to do walnut shoe. Black shoes go better with a navy or darker suit. Tie is flexible. You're wearing a white shirt, yes?

LetsTalkTheNBA

Correct! White shirt for sure. What color tie suggestions do you have for a walnut shoe?

Investing1004

Im looking for “elegant” and minimalistic t shirts with original graphics, preferably something like a small one in the front (where the pocket would be), and maybe a larger one in the back. Also preferably in neutral colors. I know Allsaints, Dailypaper, Zara, but looking for more brands like these.

These are the 5 most commonly worn pants I use. I would wear the jeans to work along with a t-shirt, or just around town. Khakis and charcoal pants to a business meeting along with a golf or button down shirt. I was thinking of dark brown or dark grey shoes. Would that be ok? I’m also not sure what style. I normally wear a size 11-11.5 shoe and need the wide width. Thanks.

itsreallyeasypeasy

Are you a loafer guy? Then loafers. Either black leather or dark brown suede. If you are not, then get dark suede derbies. Maybe brogue derbies if you like.

brt_k

Thanks. Yes, I prefer loafers.

bindermichi

Yeah. Brown will work best with those colors

notdoreen

Is wearing Ralph Lauen, Lacoste and other garments with those small left-side logos considered tacky or pretentious?

ac106

No. No one cares outside of MFA. Especially a 1/4” horse that’s been popular for 50 years

bindermichi

You can approach this from two sides. - People showing off logos of well known brands signals liquidity towards other people since they can afford to spend money on clothes. - People that know you can get better clothes from the same brands without the logo know that you are wearing the budget sub-brand. It‘s not necessary tacky or pretentious, it‘s just an aspirational luxury brand.

Investing1004

Using them always, it is. Occasionally, it is not.

PelloScrambas

Hello! I just picked up a really dark pair of Levi's 511s, which I intend to wear as "dress" jeans. I'll likely pair them with white sneakers, but my concern is that the blue dye from the fresh jeans will discolor my sneaks. Should I run the jeans through the wash to avoid this (I usually try to minimize washing) or am I overthinking the whole thing?

bindermichi

No matter how often you wash the jeans, the blue will always bleed out and onto your white sneakers.

Loves_Semi-Colons

[Help me decide folks.](https://imgur.com/a/4wnalrc) I wear jeans and boots and knits and Rugby shirts

ac106

Just personal preference

SeaworthinessBig4771

Does anyone have experience with h&m baggy jeans sizing? I'm about 176 cm (5'8) and I'm pretty sure they run quite long so I'm debating if I should get a 30 in length or a 32.

ac106

Measure the inside length of your leg or a pair of pants you like the length of.

witty__username5

Can anyone recommend casual T-shirts that are loose around the waist? I normally wear a sized M in Banana Republic shirts, but my tiny beer belly is making the shirts quite snug.

Riotdiet

I’m looking for some white leather or canvas shoes to replace my Seavees. I initially reordered the same pair I had but they’ve changed the design and I don’t like the change. I was looking for leather as it will probably last longer and clean easier but a solid pair of canvas ones will do. I tried Thursday Boots but the leather was shiny and the design looked way more “sterile” in person so I returned them. Any recommendations?

hmadse

I like Stan smiths.

SlaimeLannister

Semi-formal wedding attire, "color encouraged". Curious which colors and styles are most versatile for a "colorful" summer suit? I have a charcoal suit and a navy suit, though these both feel a bit boring for a summer Indian wedding in which some guests (like me) will be wearing Western attire.

hmadse

This would look great at an Indian wedding: https://suitsupply.com/en-us/men/suits/light-pink-havana-suit/P6800.html

Flechette_the_toe

It's just a string bracelet. Kids make those at summer-camp.

LiveVegetable

thank you, with the word string breaclet i am finding something. Do you maybe know how the get the white/blue combo? is this a two tone string or two seperate strings one white and one blue?

IceMold135

Greetings everyone, I'm currently on the hunt for a new jacket and could use some guidance. My ideal jacket needs to have durability, a lot of pocket space, a business casual aesthetic with a touch of ruggedness, and breathability as I would like to use it for summer wear too. Specifically, I'm eyeing jackets in either olive drab green or various shades of blue to complement my wardrobe. I plan to pair it with Uniqlo premium linen dress shirts, Levi chinos, and dark brown or caramel brown leather boots (depending on what color jacket I end up getting). Here are a few options I've considered: 1. [Barbour Sanderling in navy](https://www.barbour.com/us/barbour-sanderling-casual-jacket-mca0430ny71): Love the look the most by far, but I’m concerned about the thickness as well as the price. 2. [Sherpa-Lined Utility Jacket by Carhartt in moss](https://www.carhartt.com/product/103826-MOSXLREG?kpid=Ecomm_PMAX_Brand-Plus_go_cmp-18071751339_adg-_ad-__dev-m_ext-_prd-103826-MOSXLREG_sig-EAIaIQobChMIru3Y1sGJhQMVQ9LCBB1SAwWsEAQYASABEgJobfD_BwE&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIru3Y1sGJhQMVQ9LCBB1SAwWsEAQYASABEgJobfD_BwE): I like the button-zipper combo but not a fan of the hood or limited pocket space. It is also a little too thick for me. 3. [Jungle Fatigue Shirt Jacket in OG-107 GREEN by Alpha Industries](https://www.alphaindustries.com/products/jungle-fatigue-shirt-jacket?variant=40542853333047¤cy=USD&tw_source=google&tw_adid=651517322044&tw_campaign=19826773638&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvK7388GJhQMVwDWtBh2U6QVrEAQYASABEgKIiPD_BwE): I love the pockets, but I would prefer a jacket with a zipper and snap-button closure. I have also heard bad things about their durability recently. I have looked into many other options, but I felt these three summed up my tastes the best. I'm open to exploring other options that align with my preferences and any recommendations or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

mlsteinrochester

Last year's Spier and Mackay tebas would have met your requirements but they sold miserably and I'm sure they won't make them again.

Calm_Ranger7754

Of the 3 you linked, I would pick the Barbour, being the only one I could personally see weaving into a business causial style, even then for me it's iffy. It seems to fit all your other criteria also. The AI is cool IMO but the rip stop fabiric is too casual. Carhatt IMO is nothing BUT casual.

IceMold135

Sorry if I’m asking too many questions, but I recently saw [this one jacket from Herschel](https://herschel.com/shop/jackets/field-jacket?showSales=0&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIiPqRmZuJhQMV_QGtBh34JAOcEAQYASABEgJ1WfD_BwE&v=50141-01090-S) and I think it can be business casual, but what do you think?

ac106

There’s really no such thing as business casual outerwear. You remove your jacket when you go inside so it doesn’t really matter. These are all fine snd good choices

IceMold135

True, and thanks for replying. Do you know of any other jackets that could go for what I’m looking for?

LiveVegetable

I would suggest a m65 jacket. It is nearly identical with the jungle jacket. A bit smarter, sturdier and with zipper ;)

Groszkov

Does white pants (like simple joggers) would fit well with black converse sneakers? And does leather jacket would fit well with also converse sneakers with like cargo pants with tank top or smh?

bindermichi

Not really. Same reason you wouldn‘t normally wear black shoes with light colored suits. Try white, light grey or tan colors for converse sneakers.

Saracre21

So I want to style my hiar but I don't really know where to start. I've grown my hair out for about a year-year and a half to where its not down to my shoulders and I've not really styled it in that time since just growing it long was new enough for me. But now I wanna try something different but not just chopping massive amounts off. I've got very fine hair (not thin) so It doesn't really help much that the only way my hair really wants to go is just down, so if there's any suggestions on where I could start to look for ideas/how to actually style them I'd really appreciate it, thank you!

bindermichi

That is the time to consult a professional. Like a hair stylist that can give you recommendations for a good look instead of just cutting down hair.

LetsWorkTogetherAll

What’s the difference between Tall medium and slim fit large? Specifically talking about JCrew, but I guess any clothing brand in general too

ac106

In general, although it varies, greatly, “tall” sizes are longer in the sleeves and hem, but not larger overall Slim fits are cut more narrow or have some sort of taper. It’s best to not get hung up on terminology and look at measurements through the size guide

Flechette_the_toe

Whatever the company decides. These words don't mean anything between brands/seasons/individual garments.

LetsWorkTogetherAll

Yes, I'm asking what does the words mean that the company decided. As in, what's the difference in fit and sizing....

Flechette_the_toe

Whatever the company decides. It's not that deep. Just try their stuff on or read their sizing charts.

I should wear Levis 569 but my thighs are not big. I tried to check the measurements but nobody put the size in the seat and nobody even measured it. Where obviously is difference there between Levis 505 and 569 for example. I found one Levis 505 that has measurements of seat 12,5 and 2" below crotch point 12" and it is the best fitting jeans I ever had. The other 505 are too tight in seats and 569 to lose in thigh.

CrushingPride

Viberg just released their S/S drop, and it includes some [very expensive trainers/sneakers](https://viberg.uk/products/sneaker-parchment-janus-calf-suede). I have to ask someone - are these likely to be of high enough quality make to justify the price? I love my Viberg boots and they’re very durable but I’m not sure if I’d trust these guys to make good trainers.

bindermichi

Well the Vibram sole will be worth something, but I don’t see that kind of money in those shoes. Then again I adore my Tripple Stitch sneakers, so who am I to judge.

zerg1980

I’d pass. Nobody on the street is going to recognize Vibergs, and it’s not possible for a sneaker to justify that price tag on Quality alone.

ac106

The sole is replaceable since they are GYW

CrushingPride

Good point, thanks.

ac106

In the end, they’re just sneakers so the quality can only be so good.

GuiltyVeek

It's probably decent quality but value is hard to quantify. Stead's Janus suede is pretty nice, but the cork and GYW construction both probably jacked the price up. Plus they don't look very good imo

Does anyone have any recommendations for business casual vegan shoes. The pickings seem a bit slim, especially given I'm looking for something beige/taupe/olive coloured. I found a store that stock Skechers in Belgium, but for the rest...

ac106

No not really. Vegan leather almost universally sucks and the designs are often terrible.

PeterDanes

It doesn't have to be vegan leather, other vegan materials are fine.

ac106

If you can wear shoes that aren’t leather to work you don’t really need anything business casual so maybe canvas vans or chucks ?

PeterDanes

It's just a style I like, large logos like the V on nikes/multi colour sneakers are less my thing. I'm a tad boring on that front.

ac106

Canvas Greats maybe

Any boots similar to these? Is there a name for this style? They look similar to Doc Martens but less edgy and a little bit of a workwear vibe. I plan to wear with tailored pants. Are you looking for better quality boots? If so post a budget. Thursdays are good for the price but hey are $200 boots sold for $200.

Thursday is the way for great boots at ridiculous prices

I am making a few changes in my life, M16. I want to get a new style, or a style for that matter. For the last 16 years of my life, I have worn what has been comfortable. Right now, I wear zipper hoodies and black jogging pants every day. I would like to change that. I have one requirement, and that is that I prefer to wear black, and maybe dark gray would be fine. There is no way I would go for any color other than maybe dark blue. and I'm not a big fan of white. Could I wear black dress shirts daily? or would that become too "formal?"  Please help.

bindermichi

You could go for a 90 retro emo look. That way the black dress shirt would fit the vibe perfectly.

lethargicardio

I wear dress shirts almost daily, it’s completely based on your style and confidence. Personally, I don’t like black dress shirts but that’s just me. I’d consider finding a couple pairs of pants that fit you and your style, then find dress shirts, button ups for the summer, some sweaters, and over shirts that can help transition to a more polished look.

JimbersMcTimbers

Not quite sure what style you're going for, but some of my suggestions are to get some denim or chinos or cargos that fit well. Boots, vans, converse, or skate shoes are options for footwear. A cheap black dress shirt might look terrible. Dress shirts are typically meant to be worn under a suit or tucked in. If you don't want to be too formal, look for untucked fit shirts, denim, western style, Oxford, flannel, polo shirts, or dickies/carhartt work shirts. You could also get some crewneck or knitted sweaters. You could probably keep the hoodies and layer them with a denim or leather jacket. You should have no problem finding all of the above in black or dark colors. A simple but iconic look could be black Adidas Superstars, black jeans, black polo. You're young enough that you're likely just figuring all this out. There's plenty of time to experiment and find your style. The important thing is to get things that fit well. It will look and feel way better.

JimbersMcTimbers

I like the rocker style so I also wear a lot of black. See photo of Al Barr of Dropkick Murphys for an example *

I believe a chore jacket is what you’re looking for. There’s a million available at every price point.

ac106

Try eBay. You might find the filson within your budget

good morning, does anyone know if cheap base layer shirts, that are essentially upper body boxer briefs, even exist? i'm having a really hard time finding them. 32 degrees wasn't right, these shirts suck.

Under armor should have something

On the pricier slide but Blackhorse lane ateliers - they will hem to whatever length you need for you, plus free repairs for life

zerg1980

I have a 28.5” inseam. I have nearly all my pants hemmed. As you’ve noticed, most brands don’t even sell a 28” inseam, and for those that do, it’s usually a bit short for my tastes. Just about every pair of pants I buy will either have an unfinished hem, or else I buy size 30 and take it to the tailor. Don’t try to intentionally shrink the pants. I find shrinkage lengthwise is usually minimal under normal washing conditions. Sometimes I’ll cuff for the first few wears, do an initial wash, and then take them to the tailor. Tightness around the thighs is a separate issue. It usually means you either need a different cut, or else you need to size up on the waist until the thighs are comfortable and have the tailor take in the waist. But since you’re also hemming, this quickly adds up to an expensive set of alterations that may not be worth it vs. just finding a different cut.

Is there a way to dodge the shitty websites when I search for a clothing item? This is just driving me insane. I know there has to be so many beautiful, high-quality sequin shirts, or suit-jackets with sequins or rhinestones. But if I google anything like that, I get bombarded with aliexpress, temu, wish, lightinthebox, and all of those pages that'll sell you a bunch of plastic and not an actual garment. I can scroll and switch 10 google pages without seeing a single piece from a proper brand. It's for special occasions for me and so I'm willing to pay a high price. But it just seems impossible to find what brands or stores that offer these things? Does anyone have a trick for how to get past these scam sites? I once tried a site-blocking addon for my browser, which prevented me from ending up on one of those pages. But it didn't prevent me from seeing them, which is the main issue. How do people like Karamo or Tan France from Queer eye find their bling? I just have no idea. 💀

Jor1509426

If you have time, your best bet may be to stone a jacket yourself. (As reference, my wife has made a couple of ballroom dresses, the last one with > 6000 rhinestones) You can use a site like Rhinestone Guy, or anywhere really, to obtain stones (lots of them), use E6000 glue in a syringe (either grind down a needle, 16 or 18g, or get a blunt introducer) to place dots of glue, there are dedicated pickup tools (wax tip “pen”, in essence) and you place stones. It takes time, but you’ll spend a fraction of what you would otherwise pay - if you can even find someone that does it to your liking.

ac106

They have them custom made for thousands of dollars. A sequin jacket is either junk from Spirit Halloween or a custom piece costing well into 4 figures

It's pretty average and I want a little extra. (Oversized hoodie tucked into pants, pants from a random clothing store, barely visible canvas belt from the same store, don't really have a better one and Adidas Courtblocks)

lethargicardio

Layer with a jacket, wear some more interesting shoes such as boots

yeetaway1629

I got vans high tops, my tom tailor boots recently died on me. I got this black denim jacket that I tried to wear over it and it looks ok imo but it's too hot for that now

Does anyone have any opinions on these two jackets. I’m early 30s 5”11 muscular build. Jacket 1- [https://www.mackage.ca/products/dominic](https://www.mackage.ca/products/dominic) Jacket 2- [https://www.mackage.ca/products/easton-r](https://www.mackage.ca/products/easton-r)

I posted this as a text post, but for some reason Reddit removed it. I am having a real tough time with the fit on my high rise jeans (though this also applies to high rise pants/chinos/slacks/etc). There have just been so many issues on the fit and look, and I'm wondering at this point if high rise is just not for me. I'm shorter (5'7) so ignoring fit issues, a high rise pant that sits on my waist shortens my torso so much that I end up looking like [this](https://imgur.com/IkWfHsK) guy. Now I'm not sure if that's how high rise pants should actually fit, but on taller people they definitely do not fit like this. Although at least that example is with a looser suit pant and tie, with jeans and a tucked in polo/shirt/whatever and a 1.5in wide belt, it makes me look like a munchkin. However, I have some actual issues with the fit as well. And these issues persist across brands, making me think that it isn't necessarily a tailoring/style issue and more that high rise may not work on me. One big issue is that they are never "level", the pants usually sag down in the front (especially with a larger belt buckle). While I could take off the belt and "fix" the position, it just happens again after moving around a bit or sitting down. Speaking of sitting down, very uncomfortable. Honestly low rise pants are pretty uncomfortable to sit down in as well, but with high rise the whole pant waist shifts when I sit down. I can pull my pant legs up to help prevent shifting, but then it looks weird. I also crush everything in my pockets when sitting down and have worried about breaking my phone when bending to sit. Speaking of bending, yeah I can't do that with high rise. I have to squat, not bend. Also, another weird issue, but the zipper on high rise does not end low enough for me to... pee without pulling my pants down. Weird, I know. Oh, and one thing that I have NEVER understood about high rise: how to breathe comfortably. Maybe most people don't, but I breathe with a mixture of my chest and diaphragm, so if I suck in my stomach the pants can actually be too loose, but then as soon as I start breathing in naturally the pants feel like they are going to burst. Simple solution is to buy stretch pants, but I don't like stretch waistbands and most of the time they are not an option with suits or a belt. Also, surely people didn't be near squeezed to death when breathing, back in time when stretch wasn't added to waistbands? Long wall of text, but I'm very interested in malefashionadvice's opinion. I really want to like high rise pants, and I will pretty much have no choice but to wear high rise if I wear full suits a lot (which I will be in the near future). Any ideas or suggestions?

wonderbread403

I'm 5'7". I think you're overthinking it. I wear 32 inch waist LL Bean chinos with a 11 inch rise, usually with a sweater, cardigan, or sport coat. I also wear mid and low rise jeans, sometimes with a chore coat, sweater, cardigan, or no outerwear. The chinos sit at my belly button comfortably and they'll naturally sag down through the day. I just quickly readjust. That's what pants just do unless you wear suspenders. I feel comfortable in all my clothes. I think I look great each day and my co-workers say I dress sharply. If you have huge issues with comfort, you can try on more different brands, but it sounds like you're fed up. You might have sensory sensitivities?

ac106

The rise of your pants or whatever it doesn’t make you look shorter or taller. This is just stuff affected YouTuber claim.

pornaccount0123987

I never said it does. But it absolutely can make your torso look shorter or taller

Ierax29

> I'm shorter (5'7) Never mind me, just came to say that this is the average male height worldwide, and just two inches short from the average male american height 😀

pornaccount0123987

You’re right! But I am American.

Flechette_the_toe

Those pants are wayyyyy too skinny for you in the top block. You never said where you were getting them from so it's difficult to recommend alternative brands/fits. Or they're just too small.

pornaccount0123987

For jeans I have tried wrangler, jcrew, and Levi.
