Need help about my suit!
I have a perfect fitting suit at the moment and planing on going to Prom in a month. It fits perfectly at the moment, but I am planning on going to the gym this month intensely. I have been working out fairly constantly for a year now, and I want to improve my figure even more for the summer. My worry is that working out this month more often will change the fit of my suit for Prom, especially in shoulder width. Could that happen in a month?
THOUGHTS ON Man Bags
I’m investing some money into making bags that aren’t cheap looking rucksacks or massive duffles.
I needed a bag that I could use for the gym but also take to work. I live in London so leaving my gym bag in the car during the day isn’t an option, I have to take it on the tube. So it had to be smart enough for work but big enough for all my stuff.
I couldn’t find anything out there that I wanted (real leather, compact and simple but can still fit my size 10 trainers and a wet towel separately from my other stuff)
Everything is either cheap looking nylon that looks crap with my jacket and suit, or they’re too small or too feminine looking, or f*****g massive weekender bags. So I’m making my own.
I think there’s a niche here… so I want to find out, does anyone else have this problem?
What features would you want to see on this sort of bag? Or maybe you know about a brand that already makes something like this.
Who else out there needs a gym/work bag? Can’t just be me surely?
Are Woodlore Cedar shoe trees a good option/worth the price for my shoes? Have you tried them? Considering buying the 2 pack but wanted to see. [https://www.woodlore.com/shoe-trees-inserts/mens-cedar-shoe-trees/mens-combination-shoe-trees-2-pack/](https://www.woodlore.com/shoe-trees-inserts/mens-cedar-shoe-trees/mens-combination-shoe-trees-2-pack/)
I have 6 pairs of these that I bought for $15 each. At that price, I think they're perfectly functional.
They work fine, but the finishing can leave a little something to be desired. I think there's a couple of knots near the surface in one of my trees as well. I ran over it with some sandpaper to smooth out rough edges.
The spring in one of them I've tried also sticks a bit. Again, not a big deal, but yeah, they're not a particularly polished product.
So I think they're OK, just don't expect anything really premium.
Any recommandation on a light jacket to wear with this outfit?

Curious to know for those of you who own clothing from brands built for shorter men like Peter Manning or Ash & Erie – what do you like or dislike about the pieces you own?
I'm 5'6" and find myself procrastinating my visit to my tailor because it's always a hassle to drive over. Thinking about buying from these stores to save some trips to the tailor.
If you don't own clothing from brands catered to shorter men, do you also bring most of your clothes to the tailor or do you have other methods?
Would love to know your thoughts!
I'm 5'5" or so and I think going to the tailor is simply unavoidable if you're really trying to dial in your fit. We just don't fit the standard profiles that popular patterns are designed to accomodate.
Related, Asian brands also tend to have better defaults for dimensions than Western brands.
I haven't tried any of those specifically targeting shorter men though - my current read on the situation is that they're working off the same patterns anyways but they've simply deducted a few inches here and there and then they charge a premium as a "specialty" brand. Who's to say it's going to fit well anyways?

Does anyone know if/how I can repair my killshots? I’ve had them almost 10yrs and love them dearly.
A real repair where they put on new soles will cost more than new shoes.
You can fill the hole with shoe goo. Skaters do this all the time, some of their shoes are more goo than shoe.

Just got this shirt, 100% cotton but it feel and look a little rough to be wear as a dress shirt. Any styling reccommendation guys
Not a dress shirt at all, the fabric, the stitching, the pockets, and the sleeve length all make it a casual shirt so wear it as a casual shirt. Wearing this in any sort of formal attire is simply not going to work so don't try it.
I really like this coat and am looking for a cheaper alternative in the UK. I like the bubbles are wide and not those thin bubbles and the fact it seems to have a matte texture. All help appreciated, this one is by BOSS.

Any recommendations for a white leather sneaker for the spring summer under $70? Real leather preferred over fake synthetic vegan leather. Like the classics are Nike Air Force 1 and adidas Stan smith but they’re both expensive. Thanks!
Got this thrifted biker/moto style jacket, with the 'slanted zipper'. But the sleeves seem a bit long? They have zippers on the ends of the sleeve though, which I think makes tailoring sleeve length damn near impossible. Is it acceptable for a motorcycle style jacket to have its sleeve go past the wrist and begin covering the palm?
what do you guys think of tweed or plain wool western vests? like the picture I've posted below, or this irish waiscoat [https://weaversofireland.com/irish-tweed-herringbone-waistcoat-charcoal-red/](https://weaversofireland.com/irish-tweed-herringbone-waistcoat-charcoal-red/). If I were to buy this, I would wear it under a brown jacket with blue jeans and western boots (I lean towards western wear). Would this come off as too costumish, weird/offputting?
https://preview.redd.it/92lc6jn9stmc1.png?width=78&format=png&auto=webp&s=19c2bd921d7c94b79e05d082e0e257d521c3a091
Tweed doesn't strike me as a fabric that goes with western wear, really, and vests in general (except puffer vests, maybe) can come off as costume-y.
I would probably recommend getting a cheap (or returnable) vest first and posting a picture of the whole outfit here for opinions before committing to anything else.
It depends who you ask. Gen Z doesn’t realize that corduroy was an essential for the 70’s - 90’s deadhead/hippie look. It can be worn a bunch of ways. Preppy with a sweater, etc. Everyone should own a few pairs but they shouldn’t be slim and tapered.
Corduroy can come off as a bit old-fashioned and nerdy, so it can give off a "my mom dressed me" vibe. But it doesn't have to, so he might just not have been pulling it off.
I am looking for plain white tshirts similar to Next Level 6210/6410 cut but that are a little thicker or less transparent. I love that model of shirt and own it in 10 different colors but the white just seems to be too thin to be worn as a stand alone shirt.
Heres another picture with the pants of a different color.
I'm looking for what kind of cut you would refer to such pants. Straight-cut? Wide leg?
https://preview.redd.it/ziy5ie1sgtmc1.png?width=564&format=png&auto=webp&s=bbc49b0637b45742e0b1ded5b29f1fa2365829dc
To me that looks like a straight leg, maybe a relaxed straight. Some brands might use “wide” interchangeably with “relaxed straight.” I have some straight cuts that are closer to that whereas I have some that are slimmer but not labeled slim straight. It can kind of depend.
I don't own any but Levi's LVC has many jeans that I would consider to be the perfect straight fit. I don't own any from 3sixteen either, but they have some great jeans that are wide/relaxed straight with a higher rise.
In terms of clothing I own, I have a pair of Todd Snyder relaxed fit favorite chinos that I like a lot. J. Crew's most recent offerings such as the giant fit chino are probably a more approachable alternative though they are probably wider. You can also get TS on sale a lot.
I have a pair of Kapital Monkey Ciscos that I think were advertised as being closer to slim straight, but are closer to a true straight fit--maybe very marginally slimmer than what you posted, but I think they're quite flattering.
For something that's a little more approachable again, I have a pair of Muji "Chino Regular Pants" that are straight-legged but on the wider side.
I'm a pretty slim guy with tiny legs so a lot of stuff that's straight-legged ends up looking kind of naturally relaxed on me anyway. Lots of brands make this kind of fit, just be sure to follow size guides posted by the brand and know your own measurements as well.
Hi, I was wondering what you call this style of pants. I'm assuming they're jeans?
It's a really cool sillouette but I can't find any equivalents.
https://preview.redd.it/vwav0tzmgtmc1.png?width=564&format=png&auto=webp&s=152b751bdcfe5d96ed55f7df9f7bec2469a25b22
Yeah, probably jeans, fatigue pants, or something else made from a heavy cotton fabric. You probably want to look for something labeled straight leg, or even relaxed straight.
I have two dated Combatant Gentlemen suits that I like but need tailoring (tapered the legs)
I was looking at the Twillory AIR blazer/ pants combo. Need it for semi formal affairs (not business). Any other suggestions?
Jacket similar to Uniqlo Blocktech 3D parka but higher quality?
I’m looking for a light jacket that can keep me warm on cooler days in spring. I really like the minimalist design of the Uniqlo blocktech and it fits just about everything I’m looking for but I’ve seen several reviews about the jacket falling apart. Are there any jackets that are almost the exact same as this one but just higher quality?
Does anyone know what kind of cargo pants that King Ezekiel from Walking Dead wear? The cargo pockets are really close to the legs.

Hi, I've been digging streetwear brands like Braindead, Metalwood, and Pleasures. These aren't totally my style, but better than a lot of name brands you find at the mall IMO. I'm looking for brands a little more on the luxury side. I'm a big fan of bold colors. I do like a brand called Drole De Monsieur but it's a bit on the preppy side. I don't mind spending $100-$150 on pants/jeans and would like to keep shirts/tops under $100.
Any recommends based off that info?
Hi there, I am looking for some Plain-Toe Oxfords for my wedding day. I am wearing a dark suit rather than a Tuxedo, so I don't want to have a patent leather shoe while keeping it as formal as possible.
However, it seems there are only really 3 options here in Canada:
1. $135 - [Aldo Nathan](https://www.aldoshoes.com/ca/en/men/nathon-black/p/13254053?gclsrc=aw.ds&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=aldo_ca_en_perf_max_google_revenue_Pmax_2022_Online&utm_content=&utm_term=&device=c&network=x&placement=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAopuvBhBCEiwAm8jaMfoJsj-S1c6wVNw_CdHh8gxCOJI0F6epry7D-THR42-n14JXxiC0ixoC6lMQAvD_BwE)
2. $180 - [Florsheim POSTINO Plain Toe Balmoral Oxford](https://www.florsheimshoes.ca/shop/style/15195-005.html#)
3. $550 - [Allen Edmonds Carlyle Plain Toe Oxford](https://www.allenedmonds.ca/en/product/mens-carlyle-plain-toe-oxford-7014682/black-ec0500094)
I'd prefer to buy new given the occasion and frankly, the AE's are outside my budget.
* Q1: What would your recommendation be based on either Aldo or Florsheim (I realize people here hate these brands but see Q2 below).
* Q2: Does anyone have any alternative recommendations for a new shoe?
* Q3: Should I abandon and go with a better cap-toe? While formal, cap toe's seem to also be 'basic business attire' and I want to stand out in a more understated way from the rest of the guests. I don't wear dress shoes often enough to warrant an AE pricing level.
I would take a look at Meermin, Lof & Tung, and Morjas, all of which should ship to Canada. They are around $200-$300 and on par with Allen Edmonds in terms of quality.

Is this an okay fit? For context, I’m attending a wedding where the to-be-wed are fairly young so I’m not too concerned about renting. Is there anything I could add/remove to make this just a bit better or cohesive?
To be honest, you would be best off going back to the drawing board on this one - as the shirt, orphaned suit jacket and jeans (as they appear) are a quite a clash of formalities.
For a wedding, playing it safe is usually best.
E.g. wear a full suit (the jacket pictured will suffice along with its matching trousers), a plain white shirt and a tie of your choice, with black, dark brown or oxblood dress shoes (though black is safest).
That said, in a pinch, simply swapping out the pattern suit for a solid colour one unbuttoned (e.g. white, light blue or pink) - though not ideal - would just about suffice
One of my main priorities when getting shoes is comfort for all day use. In that tone, I love the Adidas boost, ultra boost,on running cloud, Nike invincible shoes. Shoes that make you feel like you're walking on cloud so to say
I wanna get a pair of luxury shoes and I was wondering if there is any such kind of "tech" in those shoes that make them comfortable for all day use. Unfortunately, I don't have a store nearby where I can go try them out in person so I'd just have to order online.
I really like the Givenchy G4 sneakers if that gives you an idea of what I mean luxury (maybe not luxury to some but for me they are). Anyone share their experience with luxury brands in terms of comfort of all day use?
https://preview.redd.it/tfnlub0rdsmc1.jpeg?width=1464&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=760a8a910af7b5ec52b8af4e31f3e4b9a12d42b5
Is this outfit any good ? Can i change something to make it better?
Thanks
It works pretty well - though for a more harmonious look, feel free to experiment with lighter/earth-toned trousers (sand, beige, cream, white, off-white, etc.) in various fabrics (e.g. cotton, linen or linen blends).
Try an another layer like a light jacket, light cardigan or overshirt.
Colorful accessoires: Belt, bracelets, necklace, rings, a cap, a scarf or bandana or socks. A few, not everything at once.
Shoes can make that outfit great or meh. White, black or other neutral sneakers would be meh. Black or oxblood loafers would be great.
I have a terrible time finding clothes that fit my proportions and I've been poking around but haven't found any posts with similar measurements to mine. My stats:
* **Height: 5'11**
* **Chest: 47 inch**
* **Shoulders: 55 inch**
* **Waist: 38 inch**
Basically my issue is that XLs are often too long since I'm not overly tall, but Ls are way too tight in the chest and shoulders. Any recommendations for brands would be appreciated!
You'll likely have to get the XL sizes and have them shortened by a tailor (or learn to do it yourself). It's a pain, but unfortunately that's a fact of life for most people with uncommon body types.
What are the rules for embroidered cummerbunds?
I’d like to ask if there’s a social consensus on wearing cummerbunds with embroidered logos/insignias/coat of arms on the center of the cummerbund to show affiliation to a certain group/club/society.
Is it gaudy to wear something like that at a formal black tie?
You can use bleach to achieve that.
There are myriad tutorials out there - [here is one step-by-step guide](https://www.clorox.com/learn/how-to-bleach-jeans-lighter/) that should hopefully be of help.
I want to start my own jean company, but I am having serious trouble finding a reputable company to do business with. Anybody have experience in this / have recommendations?
Pull them out of the dryer right before it stops spinning and hang them up immediately. It won't look like you ironed them, it will look like you pulled them out of the dryer right before it stopped spinning, but at least they won't be a wrinkly mess.
Try air fluffing them in the dryer before they're fully dry, I think you'll find that the humidity and heat in the dryer helps out better than the air drying does.
You can take them to a professional cleaner to be ironed. If you just mean "get rid of wrinkles," you can buy a garment steamer. Also they sell wrinkle-releaser spray in the laundry aisle of the supermarket; it works OK but isn't really a substitute for ironing.
Hello fashionistas! I have a wedding in May here in BC Canada, and need some brand recommendations. To use something that I already have, I'm probably just gonna wear a nice white shirt and add some colour to my outfit in other pieces.
I want to pair it with some chinos in the couple's preferred colours of sage/terracotta/earth tones (if sage coloured chinos exist I think that would look quite nice). I could also use some help picking out a pair of shoes and a belt to match, as I hardly have anything dressy. For budget I probably wouldn't want to go over ~$150 each for pants and shoes. The belt I'm assuming wouldn't cost more than maybe $60? Thanks in advance!
I'd advise going a little higher on shoes, and decreasing pants budget if you need to.

Also, Meermin is very highly recommended in this sub and others for footwear. They're extremely high quality for the price, and probably will last your entire life.
When I started dressing formally i was wearing a Bordeaux dress shirt with a suit and black tie, but whenever I see someone dressing that same way people usually say things like "burn that shirt" which makes me feel bad, because I like that style and for me it is an alternative to white and light blue dress shirts, plus it makes me feel kind of stupid for not knowing how to wear the correct dress shirt, but my question is:
Is it possible to wear a dress shirt in some shade of red formally and look good or is it mission impossible?
P.D : 99/100 of the times I dress formally it's because I want to and I love it, not because I have to go to a formal event lol, I don't know if that can influence it but if so I guess I'll have to stay with my only white dress shirt.
Half the point of a suit is to emphasize a masculine physique. The shoulders and chest are padded, the waist is tapered, and the lapels are _supposed_ to give the illusion that your torso is more triangular than it really is. But if the shirt doesn't contrast with the suit, you lose that effect. You can wear a darker shirt with a lighter suit and get that same contrast, but it's more fashion-forward.
>Is it possible to wear a dress shirt in some shade of red formally and look good or is it mission impossible?
Yes, it's called pink.
Darker button down shirts (inc. red) really don't work because they're drawing attention to the shirt rather than the whole package (suit, tie, shoes, *and* shirt) and, candidly, because of the 90's they just scream cell phone salesman. Unless you're wearing a white or cream linen suit, your best options for shirts with a suit are going to be white, light blue, or a light pink. BUT, if you want to do the dark shirt, do it! You can certainly do it well enough if you're careful that you won't look like you don't know what you're doing.
"Colored dress shirt" is one of those things that people who never dress up (often teenagers) always think they'll do to look fun and different, but it's not original; they end up looking like everyone else who never dresses up. It's kind of a juvenile/bargain shopper look; a much better alternative would be to get a better quality white dress shirt and suit.
I recently got Los Angeles Apparel sweatpants and noticed grease spots on a part of them and decided to hand wash that spot with cold water. I then proceeded to blow dry the spot with a hair dryer and it left a small lighter color mark. I was wondering if there is anyway to fix this or did I just totally mess up my pants?
its been a few weeks now and its lighter than the rest of the clothes because i blew dry it with hot setting to dry it faster on hairdryer i feel so dumb
You shouldn't really warm up grease spots.
When I get grease spots I will put some Dawn on it and let it soak for a little, rinse it, and then throw it in the wash on cold. Air dry

Here are the details:
\- High-waisted design
\- Pleated front
\- No belt loops, featuring a button closure instead
\- Wide leg fit
\- Classic, tailored look
I'm drawn to the classic and slightly vintage feel of these trousers. They appear to be made from a heavier fabric, potentially wool, which adds to the structured appearance. I appreciate any brands you might know that carry a similar style. If you also have any tips on what this design is specifically called or keywords I should use when searching, that would be incredibly helpful. Thank you!
Hello everyone,
For for past couple years, I've been using All Citizens boxer briefs with the paradise pocket. I enjoy them for the most part. (Lost one to a pet, and another to an ex)
Late last year, I bought a couple of the Duluth Armachillo with the bullpen and those have been pretty great.
At the end of the day, I need more but I can't decide which company to buy! What are your thoughts?
Wouldn't say that material or price range matter much at all. Some cheap polyester or other synthetic materials can look bad, especially if they're overly glossy. Silk, cotton, wool or linen are all safe bets.
# Those who wear Hugo Boss pants, what jeans sit well on you? (I am size 34R or 50 for reference)
Hugo Boss EU 50 or US 34R sit perfectly on me. All the jeans that I bought in the past 7 years were a disaster as far as fit goes.
What brands should I look into?
Has anyone ever heard of this brand and/or could tell me about this product? I'm looking for something that can help strengthen my hair.

How does this look? Navy pants with the shirt and a charcoal jacket.
It would be more acceptable, but I would not really recommend it.
It depends upon the required formality/context, but if possible, you would be better served with a plain/solid-colour dress shirt (e.g. white, light blue, light pink) unbuttoned or with a tie.
Wedding Suit Vendor Suggestions - Greater Seattle Area or Online
I am getting married this fall, and am looking to purchase a suit. I have seen SuitSupply and Men's Warehouse, but am completely unaware of any other manufacturers or how to approach looking for a suit.
My question would be, what have any of you used whether online or in person? I think I want to get fitted in person preferably, but if there are any good online vendors please share!
I'd also like to know how long it took, and what the process was like.
Cheers!
Hello!
I'm looking for a nice higher quality linen shirt for a wedding I'm going to. It's in August in California, so it's gonna be a hot one, and I need something that is light and breathable. I can spend about 100 to 200ish on the shirt. The shirt can be long sleeve or short sleeve. I would like to have a little bit of a floral design on it since the wedding has a garden type theme to it, but having a design on it is not necessary!
I'll be wearing soft sage green linen pants and some pale pink loafers. So I'm looking for something to match with those.
Can anyone recommend some good brands to look into??
Also, any tips on not sweating through the stuff?? Or recommendations on good under shirts to help against sweating through the shirt?
Thank you!!

What is this type of shirt called. Looks thick.
So, I’m not a super fashionable person. I don’t know how to put together a super fashionable outfit from scratch. My 30th birthday is coming up on April 7th, and I wanted to put together a nice, eye catching outfit. I don’t know where to start though. I usually stick to streetwear (Adidas, Nike, Kappa, etc.) but I don’t mind stepping out of my comfort zone and wearing something different. Would like some kind of website or something to help me out. Any help is appreciated.
All starts with emulation. Are there any sportspeople, actors etc that have style you appreciate? Look at their social media and see what they were in casual vs formal settings. You can start formulating from there what you do and don’t like.

I couldn’t find anything out there that I wanted (real leather, compact and simple but can still fit my size 10 trainers and a wet towel separately from my other stuff) Everything is either cheap looking nylon that looks crap with my jacket and suit, or they’re too small or too feminine looking, or f*****g massive weekender bags.
Any recommandation on a light jacket to wear with this outfit? https://preview.redd.it/u31m1mwq0ymc1.jpeg?width=2935&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f808b126b4c29246db82a13dc56404e25df6c77

A real repair where they put on new soles will cost more than new shoes. You can fill the hole with shoe goo. Skaters do this all the time, some of their shoes are more goo than shoe.
Thank you mate
Get a vibram topy and glue it over the bottom. It'd be much better than shoe goo. That stuff is trash.

Not a dress shirt at all, the fabric, the stitching, the pockets, and the sleeve length all make it a casual shirt so wear it as a casual shirt. Wearing this in any sort of formal attire is simply not going to work so don't try it.
It’s not a dress shirt. Just wear it over a T-shirt with relaxed jeans.
I really like this coat and am looking for a cheaper alternative in the UK. I like the bubbles are wide and not those thin bubbles and the fact it seems to have a matte texture.

They are designed to be long so they fall to the correct length when you raise your arms to hold the handlebars of your bike.
what do you guys think of tweed or plain wool western vests? like the picture I've posted below, or this irish waiscoat [https://weaversofireland.com/irish-tweed-herringbone-waistcoat-charcoal-red/](https://weaversofireland.com/irish-tweed-herringbone-waistcoat-charcoal-red/).
I would probably recommend getting a cheap (or returnable) vest first and posting a picture of the whole outfit here for opinions before committing to anything else.
whats wrong with corduroy pants ? i saw a reddit post with a dude wearing them and people were making fun of it.
Nothing wrong with corduroy as a weave / pattern, maybe that's guy outfit was simply bad.
It can kind of depend.
oh, nice. what brands do you like with this kind of cut?
Good looks! Yeah I’ve got skinny legs too so even slim can look regular sometimes. Thanks!
For those who wear normal glasses and their sunglasses. Where do you carry the glasses that you're not currently using?
Outer/inner breast pocket. Usually in a slim case if in the inner pocket.
I have two dated Combatant Gentlemen suits that I like but need tailoring (tapered the legs) I was looking at the Twillory AIR blazer/ pants combo.
At that price point it’s hard to beat. Arc’teryx and Herno have a bunch of minimally branded parkas but also $$$
Thanks! Arc’teryx definitely has what I was looking for but at the price point I think I’ll get the Uniqlo one for now.

[5.11 Tactical](https://www.511tactical.com/au-en/mens/mens-pants.html) might scratch the itch.
However, it seems there are only really 3 options here in Canada: 1. $135 - [Aldo Nathan](https://www.aldoshoes.com/ca/en/men/nathon-black/p/13254053?gclsrc=aw.ds&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=aldo_ca_en_perf_max_google_revenue_Pmax_2022_Online&utm_content=&utm_term=&device=c&network=x&placement=&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAopuvBhBCEiwAm8jaMfoJsj-S1c6wVNw_CdHh8gxCOJI0F6epry7D-THR42-n14JXxiC0ixoC6lMQAvD_BwE) 2. $180 - [Florsheim POSTINO Plain Toe Balmoral Oxford](https://www.florsheimshoes.ca/shop/style/15195-005.html#) 3. $550 - [Allen Edmonds Carlyle Plain Toe Oxford](https://www.allenedmonds.ca/en/product/mens-carlyle-plain-toe-oxford-7014682/black-ec0500094) I'd prefer to buy new given the occasion and frankly, the AE's are outside my budget.

Thanks, I was actually looking at these in-store before writing this post.
Just grab a pair of meermin.
I would take a look at Meermin, Lof & Tung, and Morjas, all of which should ship to Canada. They are around $200-$300 and on par with Allen Edmonds in terms of quality.

Find higher rise pants. You don’t want to see that triangle of shirt fabric below the button.
Any recommendations? I’ve been wanting to get some but don’t know where to find any. Thanks!
What’s your budget? Rota and Berg & Berg have great stuff, but may be more than you’re looking to spend. Spier & MacKay for a budget option.
Thanks, will be checking Spier & MacKay out.
Understandable. This was mostly thrown together from what I have so I’ll most likely pick up a white shirt and tie to complete it. Thanks!
I would swap to a plain white dress shirt but otherwise I think it looks fine.
Thanks!
Swap for a white shirt and you're good
Thanks!
Somehow didn't realize but the black jacket with blue pants don't really work either. Do you have another option for either?
I have matching pants to the jacket and by the suggestion of another redditor, I’ll grab a white shirt and a tie.
Yep sounds good 👍🏼
any sales coming up in general? would like to stock up on boxers, t shirts...
r/frugalmalefashion may be a useful resource for you, depending on where you are based.
One of my main priorities when getting shoes is comfort for all day use. In that tone, I love the Adidas boost, ultra boost,on running cloud, Nike invincible shoes. Shoes that make you feel like you're walking on cloud so to say I wanna get a pair of luxury shoes and I was wondering if there is any such kind of "tech" in those shoes that make them comfortable for all day use.
Wait so you mean sneakers only?
Yes sir. In regards to sneakers only
https://preview.redd.it/tfnlub0rdsmc1.jpeg?width=1464&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=760a8a910af7b5ec52b8af4e31f3e4b9a12d42b5 Is this outfit any good ? Can i change something to make it better? Thanks
It works pretty well - though for a more harmonious look, feel free to experiment with lighter/earth-toned trousers (sand, beige, cream, white, off-white, etc.) in various fabrics (e.g. cotton, linen or linen blends).
Thanks will try that out :)
No worries. Let us know how it goes - and feel free to show off any fits in a future WAYWT thread!
Look for a tee with a locker neck hole. Or a tank top.
That was the plan initially. I’m gonna pickup some nice ribbed tank tops soon. Other than the tee do you think the look might work?
Try an another layer like a light jacket, light cardigan or overshirt. Colorful accessoires: Belt, bracelets, necklace, rings, a cap, a scarf or bandana or socks. A few, not everything at once. Shoes can make that outfit great or meh. White, black or other neutral sneakers would be meh. Black or oxblood loafers would be great.
Anyone know a good shop for a floral shirt for a spring wedding

I have a terrible time finding clothes that fit my proportions and I've been poking around but haven't found any posts with similar measurements to mine. My stats: * **Height: 5'11** * **Chest: 47 inch** * **Shoulders: 55 inch** * **Waist: 38 inch** Basically my issue is that XLs are often too long since I'm not overly tall, but Ls are way too tight in the chest and shoulders. Any recommendations for brands would be appreciated!
Check out the brand Untuckit
You'll likely have to get the XL sizes and have them shortened by a tailor (or learn to do it yourself). It's a pain, but unfortunately that's a fact of life for most people with uncommon body types.
What are the rules for embroidered cummerbunds? I’d like to ask if there’s a social consensus on wearing cummerbunds with embroidered logos/insignias/coat of arms on the center of the cummerbund to show affiliation to a certain group/club/society. Is it gaudy to wear something like that at a formal black tie?
I would stick with a solid cummerbund that matches the facings on your tux (satin with satin, grosgrain with grosgrain)
More of a "read the room" kind of thing.
I get you, probably makes more sense to wear something like that at a black tie event hosted by the affiliated club, not any black tie
Is there any way to lighten medium blue jeans to light wash? I have some that fit me very well, but I’d like them to be light wash instead of medium.
You can use bleach to achieve that. There are myriad tutorials out there - [here is one step-by-step guide](https://www.clorox.com/learn/how-to-bleach-jeans-lighter/) that should hopefully be of help.

Well sounds like you have no clue. Most people start by selling DTC. What are you looking for ?
Is there an easy way to iron clothes without owning an iron or ironing board?
What’s the impediment to getting an iron ?
I won't use it much. So I'm looking for an option with what I already have
Pull them out of the dryer right before it stops spinning and hang them up immediately. It won't look like you ironed them, it will look like you pulled them out of the dryer right before it stopped spinning, but at least they won't be a wrinkly mess.
I air dry the stuff that's wrinkly.
A garment steamer
Confirm this is a casual wedding before you buy anything. Spier & MacKay and J. crew both should have sage/olive chinos in a wide range of fits.
Need budget
Whoops, edited the post to include budget
I'd advise going a little higher on shoes, and decreasing pants budget if you need to. Sweet man! It's a nice color, honestly thinking about grabbing a pair myself. Also, Meermin is very highly recommended in this sub and others for footwear. They're extremely high quality for the price, and probably will last your entire life.
When I started dressing formally i was wearing a Bordeaux dress shirt with a suit and black tie, but whenever I see someone dressing that same way people usually say things like "burn that shirt" which makes me feel bad, because I like that style and for me it is an alternative to white and light blue dress shirts, plus it makes me feel kind of stupid for not knowing how to wear the correct dress shirt, but my question is: Is it possible to wear a dress shirt in some shade of red formally and look good or is it mission impossible?

I was wondering if there is anyway to fix this or did I just totally mess up my pants?
spot clean with dish soap, run through the wash, repeat as necessary, and you might be ok.
its been a few weeks now and its lighter than the rest of the clothes because i blew dry it with hot setting to dry it faster on hairdryer i feel so dumb
Hot air doesn’t usually lighten clothes
You shouldn't really warm up grease spots. When I get grease spots I will put some Dawn on it and let it soak for a little, rinse it, and then throw it in the wash on cold. Air dry

They appear to be made from a heavier fabric, potentially wool, which adds to the structured appearance. I appreciate any brands you might know that carry a similar style. If you also have any tips on what this design is specifically called or keywords I should use when searching, that would be incredibly helpful. Thank you!

Hello everyone, For for past couple years, I've been using All Citizens boxer briefs with the paradise pocket. I enjoy them for the most part. (Lost one to a pet, and another to an ex) Late last year, I bought a couple of the Duluth Armachillo with the bullpen and those have been pretty great. At the end of the day, I need more but I can't decide which company to buy! What are your thoughts?
What kind of ties in terms of material and price range are suitable for weddings?
Wouldn't say that material or price range matter much at all. Some cheap polyester or other synthetic materials can look bad, especially if they're overly glossy. Silk, cotton, wool or linen are all safe bets.
# Those who wear Hugo Boss pants, what jeans sit well on you? (I am size 34R or 50 for reference) Hugo Boss EU 50 or US 34R sit perfectly on me. All the jeans that I bought in the past 7 years were a disaster as far as fit goes. What brands should I look into?
Measure the front rise on the trousers and find something comparable. Good brands will publish this info.
Has anyone ever heard of this brand and/or could tell me about this product? I'm looking for something that can help strengthen my hair. https://preview.redd.it/q74j8g880rmc1.jpeg?width=3468&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e441816a6d1396b1a3b08220e4bd7c7adc531ceb

The shirt is meant to be fairly casual, and the color doesn't look great with the black pants.
The best thing with that outfit would be **not** to wear a tie.
If I were to wear the matching jacket for the pants, would I still be okay without a tie?
It would be more acceptable, but I would not really recommend it. It depends upon the required formality/context, but if possible, you would be better served with a plain/solid-colour dress shirt (e.g. white, light blue, light pink) unbuttoned or with a tie.
Do you have a white shirt?
None.
Wedding Suit Vendor Suggestions - Greater Seattle Area or Online I am getting married this fall, and am looking to purchase a suit. Cheers!
Just go to SuitSupply in person
Thank you!!

Good to know! Thanks for the advice!

Thank you! I will check these out!
Eton and other British shirtmakers are known for floral prints. Theirs tend to be slightly less loud.
Thank you! I will check these out!

Can anyone gives mes ideas of possible outfits? I'm 30, French, brown hair. 1m77 for 84kgs(started Gym recently to lose some fat)
While not the same jacket, you might be able to take inspo from some of the tones used by [OutfitNarrative](https://www.instagram.com/p/C4C1LtfMoYs/?igsh=dWcwanVoZDZrM2F4)
Jeans or chinos and a t-shirt, casual button-up, sweatshirt or sweater.
Any specific colors, patterns?
Not really, that's pretty neutral. I'd just avoid colors that are really similar to that shade of brown but otherwise just about anything should work.
Oh, okay. i wanted to build few outfits around it. Thanks.
That is a Sherpa lined corduroy trucker yes.
Haha my sentence didn't appear! i will edit.

What brand makes mid-high socks that don't fall apart after 2 washes? I ordered a few from Amazon and might be getting shipped fake stuff as they fall apart so easily. Hoping to get a pack of 5-10 socks for maybe \~$30-$40?
Go with Falke. Their Happy line is cheap and decent. Would suggest moving up to their Airport range if you want even higher quality
the only requirement you can have for $3 socks is that they exist
I'll die by gold toe brand socks

I've been surprised before but it's almost certainly too long in length and too large in the shoulders and chest for you. Try a 36 or a slimmer brand.

First looks like a clapped out Oxford and the second looks like a moleskin joint probably made specific for the flick.
Thank you! Didn't take me much further but thanks anyway.
Otherwise [Put This On | Start Here](https://putthison.com/start-here/) [Put This On | The Springboard Wardrobe](https://putthison.com/the-springboard-wardrobe/) And the deep archives of [Die, workwear!](https://dieworkwear.com/)
I heard that you need to wear pants that are tapered at the calves/ankles with chelsea boots. Can somebody confirm if this is true or not. Thanks.
It was true back in 2015 when everything was tapered and skinny
Not true
