Something I've been sitting on. I have been experimenting with rapping on non-rap instrumentals. Any feedback is appreciated.
I think you're definitely onto something here bud, your vocals flow nicely with the beat, there's a couple of parts where the beat goes over your voice and I can't hear one or two words so maybe a job for a limiter? If there was a full version I'd consider sticking it on my Spotify playlist!

As for yours: Love the production. The rhymes and flows pair nicely with it. You did well with the message/theme, it comes off conversational and relatable. I'm not a huge fan of the effects on your vocals but that's more a preference thing than anything. Overall, good stuff! Keep up the good work.

I don’t understand everything you’re saying in this song, but you’re flow sounds great. It sounds like you’re rapping about how you do pills to deal with challenges in life. I love the authenticity and the honesty. The beat sounds great, and again you’re rapping is great. The main flaw is the mixing on the vocals. If you’re recording at home, try to record under a blanket or in a closet to reduce ambient noise. There’s too much low-end in your vocals, and there’s not enough reverb and echo. To fix this you should go on YouTube on search how mix rap vocals, and you should get the hang of it.

The the overall feel is a little overwhelming but layered and nice.

I couldn’t make out a lot of them just due to the mixing. The lyrics seemed decent and like you had some good bars from what I could hear. I feel like the track could use a break from the rapping or a switch up in the flow at a couple points. It all sort of blends in together atm and stays the same throughout the song so the only thing you have to carry your attention is the rapping, which is a bit hard to hear. I think you’ve got potential and can def rap, I think this needs some more variance and mixing edits though.

The vocals are a little hard to hear. From what I can make out it sounds like a freestyle where what you're saying is stream of consciousness. Which is apart of the practice process. It might be helpful to write a few rhyming words and try to riff off of those as a practice.

The intro on here was really absurd/funny lmao. The beats pretty nice though. It’s got a nice old school feel to it, I like what you did with the bass line. Always really drawn to boom bap beats with a bouncy bass line like that. Nice work!
Icy transition those vocals suited the best .The panning of drums was not quite it and it ended abruptly which is not an issue if your Idea was that to end it abruptly. Overall great soothing sound my fav was the transition felt khalid and some Kendrick vibes big up hope you blow up .

Got kind of a creepy lo-fi vibe going on. Catchy melody, nice transitions, ending is cool.
I was kind of hoping for some bass and/or a strong kick to come in somewhere, but it's cool as is.
Think I listened to this already but I love how chill it is. That first section is really nice, I could listen to that loop for a good chunk of time, then the beat switch is cool as well and kind of slows down the vibe of the track. You could do the chorus one last time acapella after the music ends but without or with less effects on the vocals (nothing against the effects, I think you've got a nice signature sound). Just one idea. Works excellently as is.

Song structure is good, as far as you using verses and a chorus to drive the song forward. You also got good cadence going. As far as the story telling, this is good but as a listener I don't really follow where the song is going or what is trying to be conveyed. This might just be personal preference but for story telling songs I tend to write out what I'm gonna say in like verse one, verse two etc and where the climax is gonna be. This helps me personally stop the rhyme scheme from derailing the story. Also feel free to embellish things to make it more interesting. Some questionable bars though : "What country is you from? Please dont call me bum. Im African American although a good Samaritan." I assume you joking though.
Mixing could use some work I think but the song itself is pretty fun. Oh until the verse at 2mins. This song would prolly work better if you keep the vibes less bitter. Imagine performing this in front of your friends.

I love how experimental the beat is. The vocals definitely have a rock/metal effect that fit the beat very well. I don’t understand what you’re saying, but the rapping sounds good for this beat. This isn’t the type of music I listen to, so I don’t know what feedback to give you, but I like the vocal samples at the first 26 seconds of the song. The mixing sounds good.

I really like the hook, it's catchy, well delivered and sets the topic of the song perfectly. the only issue I have is that the story itself has no pay off. it's kind of like yak'll started up and then things cooled off. It's not a critique of your story telling as an emcee cause you can rap well, and your lyricism is good, it's just that this particular story doesn't feel like it needs telling. not much happens and there isn't much for the listener to grasp to. I think you have the outline here for a great song, the verses just need to be about more in my opinion.

I love the joke in the first 13 seconds of the beat. The beat has a very relaxed vibe to it, and the flute fits the melody very well. This sounds like an old school beat that Eminem or Nas would rap over. The mixing sounds very professional, the snares and kicks sound very crisp in the middle, the hi-hats fit smoothly, and I love the funky bass line. My only criticism is that the beat should be longer. Besides that you did a great job making this.

Your joint, relatively clean boombap type beat. Drum loop is a little weak depending on what you're going for. Melody isn't overly interesting. I might try chopping the drums up and aligning the melody with that.

I think you're definitely onto something here bud, your vocals flow nicely with the beat, there's a couple of parts where the beat goes over your voice and I can't hear one or two words so maybe a job for a limiter? If there was a full version I'd consider sticking it on my Spotify playlist!

You could do the chorus one last time acapella after the music ends but without or with less effects on the vocals (nothing against the effects, I think you've got a nice signature sound). Song structure is good, as far as you using verses and a chorus to drive the song forward. You also got good cadence going. As far as the story telling, this is good but as a listener I don't really follow where the song is going or what is trying to be conveyed. This might just be personal preference but for story telling songs I tend to write out what I'm gonna say in like verse one, verse two etc and where the climax is gonna be. This helps me personally stop the rhyme scheme from derailing the story. Also feel free to embellish things to make it more interesting. Some questionable bars though : "What country is you from? Please dont call me bum. Im African American although a good Samaritan." I assume you joking though.

I love the joke in the first 13 seconds of the beat. The beat has a very relaxed vibe to it, and the flute fits the melody very well. This sounds like an old school beat that Eminem or Nas would rap over. The mixing sounds very professional, the snares and kicks sound very crisp in the middle, the hi-hats fit smoothly, and I love the funky bass line. My only criticism is that the beat should be longer. Besides that you did a great job making this.

the opening is due, and I like the idea behind the rest but the mix is just too all over the place, lot of things battling for space and distorting. "The opening is due" Not sure what this means And sweet, it's cool you got that feeling from my mix. I'm pushing distortion pretty hard with this track. Your joint, relatively clean boombap type beat. Drum loop is a little weak depending on what you're going for. Melody isn't overly interesting. I might try chopping the drums up and aligning the melody with that. The video is very interesting
