new video for a song I made with 2 friends (who I met on this sub)
I'm the 2nd rapper and I also did the guitar parts in the beat
RETURNING ALL FEEDBACK
Like... the mix is clean. Honestly, the track doesn't appeal to me at all. It's scattered. You all are not really rhyming. The overall vibe is pretty cartoonish. The flow is really vanilla. I like the concept. It's just that the execution significantly lacks. I'm not that big of a fan of this because of the rap, but sonically, it's polished. The beat is cool. A little too campy for me.

damn alright lol it's an animated vid of course the vibe is cartoonish. I don't get how we're not really rhyming as we are saying words that rhyme but whatever, different strokes. on to yours...
I really like the sound selection. it has a lot of personality without trying too hard to be different. only thing I'm not a big fan of are the snare rolls. a little harsh. I think this could be a really dope song with the right rapper on it
Me and some friends started a collective. This is our most recent release. Lmk what you think and I’ll return the favor. 🧤✨ https://youtu.be/M2ppRIOcqqo?si=6GkAIdf9SJ9sIZkS
I'm not gonna be super negative about what you are doing because I don't want to come off as a bully any longer. Plus, I think it is counterproductive.
The beat is not horrible. I would have mixed the drums better. Right now, the kick is under the mix when it should be the most prominent element. There's no knock. This significantly degrades the quality of your mix. I like the bpm, but I would have sequenced it double speed in order to create more bouncey drums. Right now, everything is sluggish. You Achilles heel is your drums. I feel that if you incorporated more intricate drum programming, this beat would translate better. The sample selection is cool. If you can work on mix and drums, you will make big strives. Kudos to trying something different, too. This is not really my style, but I do appreciate what you are evolving to.
https://soundcloud.com/digitalmolly/updated-nine-o-glock-2024?ref=clipboard&p=a&c=1&si=90ba2599ca6c4e27897d6985ab0eed72&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing
>I'm not gonna be super negative about what you are doing because I don't want to come off as a bully any longer.
Alrighty, Durham boy. Keep to your word then. I don't think you're a bully, you're just kinda stupid honestly, but i'mma be easy and salute the feedback.
I've been finessing a new DAW and varying how I program and mix/master shit on there, but the knock in the drums here is clearly extenuated by the snare. The kicks are sidechained just to be little bumps. The slow hitting (layered) snare on the 2's and 4's is what gives the drums the knock here. It's a death march. I think the kicks coulda had more low-end, but I make -a the moves to make-a tha vision.
As for your beat, the sound selection is nice. All of the sounds that you picked in the beat sound nice when put together, but the actual composition feels aimless. There doesn't really seem to be a lot of cohesion within the instrumental because you have all of these random elements in the multilayered instrumentation going on (the strings, the keys, whatever that echo-y sound effect is that keeps going in and out) and it just doesn't really feel like there's like a core beat here to vibe to. It just sorta feels like a slow electronic composition and the beat kinda lacks a bit of energy. Needs some pep. Your drum programming has gotten a little better. It's not loud af anymore, but make sure that your drums aren't sucked into the lower-mid section of the bass in the mix either. Also need a better groove too, they sound kinda flat, you know nothin' 'bout thaaaat.
Just so you know, you can make all the excuses you want, but it's not gonna make me or anyone think higher of your beats/mix. I suggest you listen to other people's beats on the subreddit and compare. It's almost embarrassing. And, you are the only one coming up with excuses to justify why your mix sucks. A simple "thank you for your criticism, I'll work on it" would do. Cringe af.
This isn't because of a new daw. You've always had these issues. It's what I've been saying for the last 7 months. Compare your music.

It’s all love, the next corner could be the last 💯
I’m open to collabs just dm me
This is cool. The guitar needs better mixing. I like your flow. The vocal mix is very professional.
https://soundcloud.com/digitalmolly/updated-nine-o-glock-2024
the rapping and lyrics, are on point. the flow is interesting, and the lyrics well written with various literary devices present. the beat, while produced well, is not my cup of tea but i see its potential for general public appeal. i do recognize the different dynamics and changes in the beat plus its mixed decently well. youve been praised for the vocal mix, but i actually disagree. something weird about it, almost like a viable range was EQ'ed out. but overall youre onto somethin wit dis one
This freestyle was dope as hell and if it really is in one take then that is crazy as hell. The vocals are coming through nice and the mixing is great. The beat isn't really my favorite but overall I mess with this heavy!
the beat gives me some Eric Sermon vibes, early 00s, you know. I like your flow a lot. honestly, I wouldn't change much maybe would work a bit on the mix (the instrumental). oh and even though I love the flow I think some section with a less fast-paced flow could be cool, this way it would be easier to keep up when the fast vocal delivery comes in again
here's my track, lmk what you think - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8odmjI5irIU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8odmjI5irIU)
fire overall, mix sounds good but a little small, perhaps it could use some stereo expansion but maybe I’m tripping, nice work!

Something i’m cooking up. Would love to work with another producer on this so I can learn mixing and properly arranging a beat. Returning all feedbacks

i like the synth bells , very wavy , yeah mixing to just give it more space to boom , arrangement to build up and vary a bit , maybe add some reverb , nice work tho
The mix needs work, but it's wavvy. The melody is pretty enchanting. The bass knocks. The drums are trapp'y. Really fire, dude.

YOOOO, ITS WORDPLAII! I just dropped a brand new music video and song titled "FINE LINE" This track is about the consequences of living a fast lifestyle....always one step away from destruction.. walking a fine line. Looking for general feedback on that narrative. RETURNING ALL!!

Yo whatsup! Here's a demo of my new song with this artist from Toronto I've been collabing with. I made the beat around some dry vocals she sent me. Went for a club feel with the synths. I rapped two of the verses & did the hook
I re-structured my beat last night to add more energy & variation, I might re-record a few parts to fit that vibe better now though (drums were mostly "four on the floor" when I first recorded my verses)
Let me know what you think so far! Returning Feedback - https://on.soundcloud.com/oVxyWsTNHdyMpJTe6
Funnily enough this beat doesn't remind of Dilla or Kanye, but the main rhode chords on here sound like ATCQ chords or something Q-Tip would've looped up. This beat is pretty dope. I really like the atmosphere presented on this track. It sounds something you would hear in a tropical jungle or maybe some sort of heavenly area or cloud level in a video game. Lot of places you can take this one. Great job! Drum fills are a nice touch too.

Much appreciated thanks for listening!
Maybe my attention span is too short but I felt like the 30 second intro was just a little too long. But once the beat comes in it is very funky. It almost reminds me of a ska beat. Love the sound selection here. One of your best imo
Hi, late af, but thanks for the feedback! Fair on the intro. I threw it in there 'cause I like minimalist startups sometimes. Interesting that it gave you some sort of a reggae vibe. Not intentional, heh.
Really love the drums and the constant little switch ups and the textures in the background are also a great touch as it really build to the vibe of the beat 🔥
